MGM Grand

The MGM Grand towers above the Strip and has been a fixture of the Las Vegas skyline for decades. It's an amazing resort, the sort of place where you can roll straight from a morning tee time into a big-night show, a few hands at the tables and a late dinner, all without needing a taxi.

Entertainment is a big part of the draw. Ka by Cirque du Soleil is the headline act, a high-energy acrobatic production that's pure Vegas. You've also got the MGM Grand Garden Arena, which has hosted everything from major concerts to championship boxing. If your golf trip is the "play hard, recover properly, then go again" type, the on-site pools, spa and nightlife make that easy.

Who is this for?
Golfers who want a classic Vegas base on the Strip with loads happening on-site between rounds.

Who is it best for?
Couples and groups who want golf, shows, casino time and big-name dining in one iconic resort.

Accommodation at MGM Grand

The hotel is truly colossal, with room categories ranging from Grand Tower Deluxe Rooms through to Penthouse and Signature Suites. If you're here primarily for a golf break, the entry-level rooms do the job nicely: plenty of space, a solid en-suite and those classic Vegas views over the town.

If you're travelling as a four-ball or a bigger society group, it's worth thinking about how you'll use the room. Are you just sleeping and showering between rounds, or do you want a suite that becomes the meet-up spot before heading out? A higher-category room or suite can make the trip feel far less "room roulette", especially if you're planning late nights and early tee times in the same week. The extensive accommodation collection ensures there will be an option to suit every demand, whether you're after a straightforward base for your Las Vegas golf break or a suite with panoramic views and upgraded amenities.

On the recovery front, the resort facilities are a real plus after 18 holes in the desert heat. Wet Republic is the headline pool area, with two saltwater pools plus swimming pools and spas, fringed by party cabanas, daybeds and a modern vibe around the sundeck with live DJs when it's in full swing. If you're chasing quieter downtime, you'll also find pools and spa options that lean more "reset" than "party". There's an extensive fitness centre and the MGM Grand Spa for proper post-round recovery, whether that's a treatment, a sauna session or just switching off for an hour.

Practical tip for golfers: plan one lighter evening mid-trip. Vegas has a habit of turning "one drink" into a 2am finish, and that's not always the best recipe for a sharp front nine the next day.

The MGM Grand prides itself on offering players a huge casino floor with everything from private VIP areas to the poker, roulette and blackjack pits where you can try your luck against the house, plus endless low and high-value slot machines. You'll never be short of a table or a machine, whatever your game.

There are many bars and clubs at the MGM Grand. Enjoy a cocktail at the circular Rouge before graduating to the vibrant Studio 54, or explore one of the other lounges and nightspots scattered throughout the resort. If you just need a quick drink between rounds or a celebratory nightcap after a good day's golf, you'll find plenty of options without leaving the property.

Dining options are outstanding at the MGM Grand, including superb steakhouses and sushi bars plus the acclaimed Joel Robuchon restaurant. Whether you're after a quick bite between rounds or a celebratory dinner after a good day's golf, you'll find everything from casual American fare to fine dining under one roof.

This hotel is so big it took over 1 hour to book in and exit out. We never used their bars and restaurants because of the excessive prices. Again $18.00 to park. $39.00 plus tax to stay there is a liberty.

Great Hotel in Vegas, straight onto the strip, rooms a little small and a bit Dark, thought that $40 a day resort charge and $15 a day parking was a bit over the top as the rooms aren't cheap anyway, but Vegas is worth a visit if only once in your lifetime

A huge hotel on the strip with everything you could want as long as you are happy to pay. Very disappointing the rooms didn't have tea/coffee making facilities in the room and we found some staff unhelpful. Very lively though and right on the strip. Valet parking was excellent and very quick
