Good clean and tidy accommodation. Helpful staff and buffet offers a good range of food. YGT only offers semi all inclusive which offers free bar from 1700 and dinner. Paid 30€/day supplement for all inclusive which includes lunch/picnic and free bar from 1100.

The accommodation at the Barceló was very enjoyable the staff was very accommodating in the restaurant and bars as I golfing break you couldn’t ask for more

We were in a chalet which was slightly damp. Not in the actual hotel as I.expected

If any one stays here please get a flight into jerez as it will cost you so much money from else where. The hotel itself was out standing staff friendly course was brilliant please get a buggy to go around the course as there are lot of hill and a fair walk from tee to tee

Fabulous stay for 4 couples - we enjoyed the hotel and close to Jerez for some sightseeing and amazing restaurants.

Been there before, catered for our every need, all staff, very professional and courteous, we had millionaires golf.

Hotel and facilities were great rooms getting a bit tired . Only negative is lack of entertainment as Hotel is isolated with no where to go - being a group of ladies we would have loved a dance in the evenings

I’ll start with the management, the rudest people I have ever met in my life especially the one with the glasses and the bald head, didn’t like our group and made up lies about us and called the police which then resulted in two of us being removed from the hotel on the first night for something that could have been sorted out very quickly if he leant how todo he’s job properly!! Shout out to the barman who joined in the football celebrations with us, couple of very nice men. The golf course, greens are nice and the holes are very good but for the actual condition it needs some TLC. As for the swimming pools they all open at 11am which is not acceptable as alot of our group like to get up early and have a swim. Ive never been to a resort that does this, far at to late!. Hotel room, hot and uncomfortable the aircon is rubbish! One of the nights they didn’t book any taxis for us to go into Cadiz they basically held us in the hotel and it was very uncomfortable and strange as they wouldn’t explain what was going on again very rude! Ive know spoken to everyone in the group and they have all said the same thing, they didn’t feel welcome and a lot of the stuff are very rude especially the one with the glasses and bald head we will never be returning and next year we will go somewhere with more todo on the complex and at least have a shop. So my overall experience is that I would never go back and none of the group would either it’s the rudest hotel I’ve ever been to and I’m really gutted about that as it was the first golf trip away with all my friends and it was ruined.

superb hotel as usual, staff are brilliant. unfortunately because of the condition of the golf course I doubt if we will ever return here.

Staff were brilliant Our tee time was moved on two occasions due to competitions. We were compensated with free buggies and played at different times. Buggies were compulsory pre 11am cost 42 euros!

5th visit and will be booking the 6th!

Lovely hotel with very friendly helpful staff. It also has a lovely pool and a spa for an even more relaxing experience.

The only negative we have was the poor air con in the room which lead to sleepless nights.

Excellent accommodation, 6 double rooms with verandas and golf course views on all inclusive basis. Meals were good, reception staff, restaurant staff and bar staff excellent. Pro-shop well stocked with clothes and golf equipment. Golf Professionals were excellent also.

The hotel itself was fine but looking a little tired in places.The rooms were very comfortable but again in need of redecoration.The restaurant had a very good choice of food, all well cooked and presented.A great option to have a packed lunch if needed whilst playing golf. All the hotel staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful.

Free room upgrade to overlook golf course. Fantastic views from balcony. Views from other side not good, several rows of unfinished apartments. Very good and varied choice of food and very clean. We were semi all inclusive which was same as half board with free bar ftom 17.00 to 23.00. Staff were first class.

Hotel was in a convenient location for the airport and for going into Jerez. Room was comfortable, staff very efficient. Food in restaurant was okay but a bit repetitive.

Comfortable hotel served by friendly, attentive staff. Bar ran out of Campari and lemons and no delivery of same next day; bar staff’s knowledge of making some cocktails limited which was slightly disappointing. Outdoor patio for drinks and light bites very welcoming but tables and chairs need a good clean (cushions need a good wash/replacing) - hence the lower mark for bar and food Minor quibbles tbh Will return for sure!

This is our third visit. I’d say the rooms are looking a bit “tired”. A couple of things. 1. The quality of the food has deteriorated. In particular the hot food was often just warm. 2. Try and avoid the period leading up to the Moto GP. This time the practice sessions were particularly noisy.

Excellent location for relaxing and enjoyable Golf on an excellent course which was both scenic and challenging but without being too difficult. The rooms are well appointed and staff are friendly and efficient. The food was of a very high standard with plenty of choice and variety to suit any palette. Having traveled extensively this was the first occasion that we have managed to leave the hotel and get onto the plane within an hour. Unbelievable efficiency at the airport. The taxi was just ten minutes which is such a nice way to end a trip.

We have been here several times over last 11 years and the hotel is still great. The room and hotel refurbishment has improved a good hotel.

Best place we have been by far

Accommodation was great we had a 2 bed villa over looking the 18th. Towels and beds etc seen to everyday. Food was excellant as were the staff. Only slight down side was location no other hotels, bars restaurants near by but it didn't spoil the holiday.

Firstly Your Golf Travel were excellent. Hotel was nice and rooms were spacious, had a one bed villa with a small kitchen. All inclusive was not as expected, could not get food between official times. No half way house or drinks carts on the course. There was water stations.Only one choice of beer (which was not for me) and all inclusive runs out at 23:00.Had four nights, 2 nights the food was great, 2 nights not so much. Staff were 5 star all the way. I would go back.

This was our 4th visit to this resort as we enjoy it so much - the hotel is a bit tired now and needs a bit of updating but it’s still ok for a short golf break

The hotel was clean with friendly staff,room was cleaned daily and overall great for a golf break away from the uk winter weather.

We stayed in the villas very comfortable very spacious and cleaned to very high standards

Our room was good and comfortable, although we couldn't adjust the temperature of our room which got a bit hot during the night. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Hotel was lovely, breakfast was good but dinner awful.

Just one word- superlative ,as always. Upgrade to 4 excellent 2bed apartments most appreciated by everybody in group . Individual lockers in clubhouse facilitated leisurely walk from breakfast to first tee .

We were put in a two bedroom villa which was fine but the sound carried through the adjoining door to next villa and from villa above so if you had noisy neighbours as we did it wasn’t ideal. I stayed on in Week 2 for a golf comp. and the neighbours were 20 something year old boys who partied till 3 so I with a certain amount of perseverance I got moved to hotel where rooms are really nice. Restaurant shut for refurb and good at adjacent hotel was dire. Many folk had stomach problems. Some staff lovely, a couple were rude and grumpy .

Treated like VIP' s from the minute we arrived. Upgraded to luxury apartment. Exceptional service everywhere we went in the hotel and golf resort. Had an amazing long weekend and cannot wait to go back there again. Only small disappointment was not getting a much earlier tee off time on our last golfing day. That apart I had a wonderful and amazing experience.

5th visit - Bar service indifferent. Restaurants buffet - service just about ok - but attention to detail poor - food etc not topped up. However staff cooking hot food to order - good. Quality of food good, management should go to Belek and see what inclusive means. Potentially could be a super hotel.

Rooms were clean but small. And would prefer to have more room between two single beds appointed next to each other.

A disappointing visit. For the first time, we upgraded to “superior” and were upgraded by the hotel from hotel room to 1 bed villa. We then had to report problems every day of our 6 day stay, from ants in the bed and kitchen, no hot water, noisy insufficient lighting, microwave smoking! shower head needed replacement, old rigid towels, bare minimum 2 cups, spoons etc but no cleaning facilities. If this is superior, I dread to see the others.

Was expecting the hotel to be a bit dated and tired considering the amount we paid for the whole trip but was pleasantly surprised. The rooms were fairly modern and comfortable and the hotel in general had good facilities, staff were good and sat in a good place overlooking the golf course.

Everything about hotel facilities first class could not fault it at all.

Nice 4/5* hotel . Unfortunately despite brilliant sunny weather both outdoor pool areas closed with no sun loungers . Only pool available was small spa pool which cost E15 per swim . No spike bar although lovely sunny terrace to enjoy a coffee or post match beer.Hotel is next to jerez race track so be prepared for noice from motor cycle and race car testing?practice.

Overall we had a great trip and the weather was perfect for the golf at 23 deg. We even got a free room upgrade to one of the villa's which was great.

Barcelo Monte Castillo was a superb stay for the New Year. Clean,friendly, festive and professionally run. Staff were excellent and the organisation and execution of the gala dinner is to be commended.

The hotel was lovely, the buffet menu was really high quality and the breakfast was superb. The hotel standard was excellent and we thought the price was very reasonable too. All in all, we were delighted with the hotel.

We have not stayed in this hotel for two years and they have continued to improve the embiance of the hotel and the buffet. It’s popularity and value for money meant that it was full and tee times difficult to book so I would suggest you book early.

We had a superior twin with golf views and the rooms were spacious and very clean, with great views and a balcony. The quality of the food was excellent and a great choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful with just a couple that were miserable

On arrival was offered a free upgrade to the villa's, so that was a big plus, food and drink all inc, no complaints service was very professional

I enjoy the entire set-up of the resort. The buggy fee is high, and can be windy.

All of the holes were quality. Great apart from having only Cruzcampo beer served in silly stubby glasses.

All holes were very interesting and enjoyable. If you are of middle H/C would advise playing from blue tees. The hotel was very nice and food was of good standard.

Nice hotel, although a bit tired. 18th and 9th holes were beautiful.

18th was a glorious par 4. Hotel average, and no food after 2pm until 7pm. i.e. No lunch, so drinks only and limited choice.

The hotel was excellent, but we were disappointed that there were no organised trips to anywhere. We paid for transport to Seville. Also, there weren't enough sun umbrellas at the pool and you couldn't get a drink at the pool either.

Too many great holes to mention but the 12th was probably my favourite.

Golf course and the 3 nine holes were all good. Use a local caddy. Great hotel which is being updated end of the year. Food outstanding, very friendly staff, plenty to do and only 2 mins from the beach. The whole party loved it and would go back again.

Everything was top class. Tough but playable golf, good accommodation (recently upgraded) and great ambience and food.

Hole 18 was fantastic.

Fabulous course, venue and staff. I would definitely recommend and would go back. 

The course is well kept and challenging. The hotel has been recently upgraded. The staff are warm and friendly. The food is good to excellent depending on a la carts or buffet. The pool and spa are fab.

Challenging resort type course - good condition in Nov. Hotel was 3.5* in my opinion. Staff really friendly. Will return.

18th is a great hole though I didn't play it particularly well. It was a walkable course even though there were some long walks from greens to tees.

The hotel food and drink was cheaper than expected. You definetly need a buggy as there are long distances between holes. A fair test for all standards of golf. Not a bad hole on the course and was enjoyable to play the back 9 especially. However, the course does need a little TLC in places!

Hotel fine but there are too many non golfers on the course. Paid for unlimited golf but with rounds taking over 6 hours and no flexibility on tee times there's no chance of playing more than one round. The hotel was fine, all inclusive was good value and the food was a good version of buffet style catering.

Hotel is very top quality if a little remote; taxi or car to local restaurants. Golf course is top notch - tough but fair. Definitely worth playing.

You need a buggy but they are quite expensive.

The 18th hole is fabulous with an interesting elevated tee.

The 18th was my favourite hole. 

Just love this course. Favourite hole has to be the 18th with an elevated tee giving superb views and the challenge of hitting the fairway! Coming off the green to the terrace for a cool glass of Sauvignon. Doesn't get any better. 

The hotel is fine. Buffet choice is varied and rooms very comfortable. The course suits all levels of golf and has some interesting holes.

The 18th was the best hole for me, but a very challenging course, not for new starters in golf. The hotel is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable. The all inclusive deal is very good value for money and there is a very good choice of food, from breakfast, lunch and dinner.

18th hole was brilliant. Long drive from Malaga but worth going if it is all inclusive.

The hotel was tired, the food was not great and the location was very secluded. Even though we had a hire car, there was nowhere really to go within an hours drive. However, the course itself we enjoyed and at the time of our visit, the greens were being repaired and airiated and what had been removed from greens were actually piled around or even in front of the greens.

Golf and hotel was first class and and had everthing for a great golf trip. Would go back anytime.

Great but very hilly course. 

The Hotel is top drawer, the staff are wonderful, the service is excellent. The golf course is a very tough test of golf and is not really suitable for anybody who is not a regular golfer, but, for a good golfer it is good. This year maybe due to the weather some of the tees were in poor condition and generally the bunkers were difficult to get out of as they were solid under a thin layer of sand. They have spent a lot of money over the last few years on the hotel and the course and it shows.

Hotel was excellent and the course was great, just make sure you book a buggy before you go.

The 18th has to be the best but most testing hole of the course, water all down left side after an elevated tee shot and the mens tee is almost in the clouds. Very small green so approach shot needs to be accurate.

All aspects of the break were superb- course, hotel etc.

Quality hotel with a testing golf course and a wonderful Spanish Town nearby.

18th is a great finishing hole.

The 18th is spectacular and I enjoyed playing the 10th too. Hotel, food and staff excellent.

The course was good, although a lot of remedial work was being done. The 18th hole was dramatic and challenging but in a beautiful setting. This was our golf groups favourite hole. The hotel gave good value for all inclusive and service was good. The only criticisms were the constant daytime noise from the nearby Jerez motor circuit and the view from the front of the hotel which was just an unfinished building site.

5 star hotel and course at two star prices. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our short stay here. The course is quite long and challenging, and buggies are mandatory for starts before 11am. We used our own trolleys, but be warned, there is quite a walk from green to tee in a number of places where housing development is planned. We had booked bed and breakfast, but the hotel offers a set price buffet evening meal (3 courses and wine) which was excellent value. Montecastillo is quite remote, but well worth a visit.

Fantastic golf course suitable for all handicap levels.

Holes 9 & 12 are great par 5s but on this course you need to accept what your handicap is. Do not try to smash the course because it won't happen. Play to your handicap and you will have a great game of golf. You can play well and get 18/19 points on front nine, then you come up against the back nine, which is certainly a challenge.

18th hole is great. Hotel & facilities are good. It's a couple of miles out of Jerez motor circuit.

Favourite hole was the 1st in the morning mist, right after an awesome breakfast. Ending hole 18 gives spectacular views. And cerveca is right on the money after the course!

The 18th was a fantastic hole, with an elevated tee & I loved the beer on the 19th. Nice Hotel. Good breakfast.

No favourite holes. Hotel good but try to go when the motor cycling is not on as it can get a bit noisy.

All holes were interesting and a good challenge. Buggies are available but very expensive. However, at 70 years old and a lot of walking between greens to tees I would advise having one.

Loved our holiday at Montecastillo and will return. Only downside is that the room we were given on the deal was not course facing so we paid a supplement. Wouldn't be the same if you couldn't enjoy the view. 

Great venue if all you want to do is play golf or if you have a car, as it is a bit isolated. The staff were very helpful and the food in the restaurant was great. All in all, a great golfing holiday.

We had a very good trip all in all. The weather the first 2 days was awesome but it was a bit chilly and windy thereafter...still great fun though!   

The hotel room was very nice, and had just been renovated. I believe they are renovating all the rooms so the resort is on the up. The restaurants and bar were well decorated with a nice friendly atmosphere and the food although basic, was plentiful and tasty.

The golf course was great. Overall the greens, fairways and bunkers were all in great shape. The paths are starting to look slightly worn and battered but that happens with time I guess. It’s a little harder for the higher handicapper but still a great test of golf and very rewarding with some breathtaking views.

The members of staff at the resort were friendly and helpful overall and the pro shop assistant was even happy to book other courses for us during our stay.

YGT were top drawer. I was worried that booking through a travel agent would mean we suffer on comfort a little but not this time! We got a great deal too.

We would definitely go back to Montecastillo Resort and always via YGT.

Course was great, greens had been dressed on the Monday so there was quite a heavy sand base for the first few days but overall the course was great

Great course but long beware if you don’t hit it far , couple of greens in worn condition

Disastrous! Our tee times were bumped back by 30 minutes and it after that it was the slowest round we have ever played. 6 hours in buggies! Consequently we had no time to stay after as coach driver’s time was up. Some of the course was very scruffy although the layout is good (a buggy is a must though) and greens were good.

The golf course is got to be one of the best golf courses I have ever played fantastic layout and great looking holes my only complaint would be some of the fairways had bear patches which give some unfair lays

Such a shame extreme rain throughout Spain washed the bunkers away and some areas where unplayable.

This is impossible to rate as the course, due to the terrible weather which was awful. Flooded bunkers, mud slides, soaked greens. Exceptionally slippy, to being arguably dangerous. The course really should not have been open.

For us the weather was terrible rained all weekend course was a bit water logged. Bunkers wear unplayable because of the water in them. I would imagine in the summer it will be amazing. Need buggies to get around the course

Lovely course - needs some rain to improve lushness. Long holes but forgiving run, green are tough to read. Our group was a mix of men and women & handicaps we all enjoyed our 2 rounds. Merecedes in the Pro Shop is a huge asset to the golf aspect of the stay, great secure lockers for golf clubs too. We’ll be back in May!

The course is in fantastic condition, the greens are like lightning!. A really good test of golf.

We really liked & enjoyed the course,although not at its best after an extremely hot & long summer. The very large greens however were excellent,you need to get your yardage right.

I’ve played here many times over 10 years this is the first condition the course has been in It’s down to the fact they have drought conditions in the area and can only use water at 50% Still worth playing though

We have been several times to Montecastillo and everything has been superb but this year the hotel was as superb as ever but the golf course was in a dreadful condition. I don`t think we have ever played a course in such a bad condition. The fairways didn`t have any grass in many places, some of the tees had many patches of no grass, on one tee we counted 15 rabbit holes. The greens had been spiked which we were not told about, huge bunkers which we know but very few had enough rakes and the bunkers were not raked every morning. We are very disappointed in Your Golf Travel as course conditions should be monitored if you have paying customers going there. Colin Reed

A challenging course. Interesting and playing 4 times in a row was still was not a problem. You have to have a buggy.

A hilly course with some distance between greens and tees. Definitely consider booking a buggy. Staff in the pro shop were friendly and helpful. A bit disappointed with the overall condition of the course but the greens were excellent

Greens were sandy and variable speed but it was February Some carries were beyond shorter players and one had no drop zone marked

Considering the rain we had the course was in fantastic condition. Its a great test off the whites and very picturesque. It never fails to disappoint, the only improvement could be a drinks and snack cart travelling round.

Played reasonable well, I understand the damage on the greens is going to be put right in the closed season

Enjoyable but lack of rain during year means some holes greens and fairways very poor condition.

We played 4 rounds the first 2 rounds were really enjoyable The 3rd round was stop / start due to a society playing a Texas scramble in front of us slowly 😤 and not letting us a 2 ball to play through. The 4th round we joined another 2 ball on the first tee and still caught up with the same society again for some insane reason playing Texas scramble with a 5 ball and still not calling us through 😤 . A disappointing end to a fabulous experience on this great golf course 🏌️‍♂️.But this has not put us off attending this great venue another time.

Great course Temperature was 34 every day

Having played this course for the last 10years running we new what to expect regarding layout, the course was in good condition apart from a few greens with patches of wear on them

Montecastillo has an outstanding number of bunkers!! The greens weren’t in the best condition, so generally a little tired but understandable after a very dry summer. Overall a testing but enjoyable golf course.

Second time back to the course. This time was very disappointed in the greens. Most were cracked and damaged which I have multiple photos of. It ruined the golfing experience. We love the course hence returning for a second year.

Golf course was in excellent condition, greens and fairways were lovely and rough not too punishing.

The greens and bunkers were very good indeed but the fairways were looking quite tired and very tired in a few places. The cart tracks also need some work doing to them. There is water available on the course but a halfway house or mobile refreshment cart would have been nice.

It was very busy but we where round in under 4.5 hous each day, which on a course of this standing was very good

The only downside to the golf was there is only one stroke index, not individual index for men and women. This gives a huge advantage to the ladies. Free golf club storage available (lockers) and cold drinking water on every other tee. Excellent practice facilities and golf shop with helpful and friendly staff.

Golf course was spot on, greens an fairways well kept, just a shame some of the golfers don’t repair pitch marks or rake bunkers

We always have a great time playing this course

For most people buggies are needed. Course is quite hilly and sometimes there is a wee hike from some greens to next tee. Overall condition good and greens were excellent. Although fairways are quite wide as with all Nicklaus courses it's all about playing to right areas of fairways and course management. Very enjoyable and very playable.

Overall, my wife and I enjoyed the course. Office staff were very helpful and efficient. Course was in good condition and quite challenging in places! Buggy needed due to layout of course. Course was very busy while we were there with some large groups but we got round okay. Practice area was very good for warmup and general practice.

Superb course; tough but not brutal Some of carries from tee long and make sure you’re not afraid of heights! Take plenty of balls - the water hazards come into play all too often! Look forward to playing again

Excellent course. Staff took care to ensure buggies were always available and overall took care of our group of 20 very well.

I wouldn’t play afternoon golf again due to single and two ball players walking the course. Buggies should be mandatory in my opinion as this course doesn’t lend itself to walking with some distance between some of the holes. We loved the course which was challenging particularly off the men’s tee but it was a fair course. The greens were a little patchy but this was cosmetic and didn’t affect the pace and they were very true. Whether you’re a single figure player or a mid handicap player the course will be a challenge. High handicap players may struggle with some of the carries off the Men’s tees and the greens are a real challenge but very receptive with the ball stopping instantly. A great course and we’ll be back to play again

Always a beautiful course to play. Some spectacular views. The greens weren't as good this year since our last visit a few years ago. They have some 'mould' issues in a number of greens. Not sure if this is due to Covid lockdowns?

Great course but some of the greens were a bit soggy

Course was very busy, experienced some slow play but in general it was good. Fairways very good but some of the greens very spongey with patches of wet moss, divots not always repaired some of which were very large, compared to greens at home a little disappointing.

We played off the back tees and the course was quite long. Great for big hitters. wide fairways make for an easy round. Not many lost balls apart from the water. Long walk so recommend a buggy if you don't like to walk hills. Fairways are a mix of grasses so never knew what lie you were going to get. Greens were in terrible condition. Wet from over watering left footprints everywhere and the grass was 25% moss. Did not see many people on the course so no pressure from front or back which was nice. No halfway house was very disappointing.

Overall once again the course was in great condition with the greens running very fast.The pace of play was about the norm with holiday golf taking about 4 to 4.5 hours.

A quite tricky course with extremely fast greens and a lot of water. The 18th tee is an experience on its own. A buggy is a must. Overall really good!

We really enjoyed the course which was challenging but good and fair. Greens were very fast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. And our rented clubs were good quality.

Excellent course with every hole offering a distinctive challenge . Wide choice of tees making course playable by golfers of all ages/abilities. Abundant wildlife and panoramic views throughout course . Noise from nearby motor racing track not as intense/ intrusive as on previous visits.

J Great trip on the whole thanks. However, bit miffed that on the Monday round we not only had to pay a 20 euro supplement per person to tee off at 10am (which admittedly we knew about but does seem a bit harsh) but also had to take buggies. Ended up having to hand over 164 euro to play our round! (four ball) Comes across as a bit of a scam frankly, and failed to compensate for the reasonable headline price. Also the horrendous din from the motorbikes on the adjacent racetrack, on all three days, rather spoilt what would have been a nice peaceful golf course. My putting is bad enough without having multiple high powered bikes on full throttle rather affecting any attempt at concentration! Golfers probably need to be forewarned! Best wishes ND

They allow beginners on and that is when play is slow as course is not suitable for them. It was also very wet when we were there and the paths between green and tee are treacherous. Loved the course but they should put a max handicap of under 30 on it in my opinion with greens running at 12 it’s a challenge.

Tough but very exciting holes forcing you to continually raise your game.

5th visit - 1st visit excellent then on 3rd and 4th visit course went through a very poor period - now much improved again. Would recommend course - however buggies too expensive for 1 player. Need a starter on the first tee.

Greens riddled with fusarium Greens slow and bumpy Tees appealing Weeds throughout the course Fairways in poor condition Bunkers had black rubber matting coming through Caddy paths were in poor condition. Dangerous in places -more on the non golf course areas.

Course in very poor condition. Greens patchy. Huge grass/ weed patches on first cut. First round 3.5 hours. Second round closer to 5. The marshall told us off and the players in front when it was a four ball in front of them holding up play

Very good but challenging golf course. Fantastic elevations and pretty water hazards etc. The greens had just been worked on a few days before so were a touch slow the first day but still rolled well but they cut them the second day and played much quicker. Very enjoyable course. Would definitely go back and play it again.

Far to slow when I booked I did not boom to play two days with people I did not know and had no wish to play with but was forced to play with as the golf part of the hotel seem to think 5 and a half rounds in 30 degrees and over is acceptable. Indeed only played 13 holes Saturday as it had taken over 4 and a half hours up to then, Sunday was reasonable played 18 with a German married couple just over 5 hours and Monday played 9 as it took 3 hours 15 minutes up to then the couple who we were put with played 18 took 6 hours 40 minutes I am afraid that we did not book to fry in terribly hot conditions waiting on every tee golf was ruined by waiting. Needs looked at considerably.

3rd time of going as was a bit harder this time due to the windy conditions but as excellent as ever.

Great challenging course, we all really enjoyed it and can’t wait to play it again

This is a proper Championship golf course and not for the fainthearted or the high handicapper. It measures over 6,600yds off the yellow tees and every hole requires thought and accuracy.Lots of beautiful elevated tees to enjoy but hilly and long walks from green to tee means carrying a full bag is an option only for the young and very fit . We carried a half set for 9 holes on the first day and thereafter bought a 4 day buggy package at E35.70 per buggy per round .Overall it is a fantastic golf course for a mid handicapper. I am 64 years of age and 19 handicapper and 29 points was my best score of the week but loved the challenge. Lots of water so bring plenty of balls but it is well worth the effort and there is no issue about playing after 12 noon and enjoying free golf !!

The course in general was fair with very fast greens especially if you got the wrong side of the hole. Play was a little slow but that's usual on these type of resort courses. Overall very enjoyable.

Majority of the course was in great condition.Certain areas of the buggy carts are in dire need of repair and could be classed as mildly dangerous. Thought i was driving on UK potholed roads!!!. However the weather, company on the course and the setting will take me back.

Lovely course, unfortunately there was a large competition when we were there, they had block bookings coinciding with our times so we were moved and were then very slow. It was apparently sprung on the hotel by the competition organisers, we were told, but it did overshadow an otherwise superb experience. Hopefully next time this will not happen. The other issue was the buggies, quite old and doddery, as well as expensive, we were told new ones are on order for january but they do need updating.

Enjoyed the golf with some really interesting holes and a variety of challenges ranging from relatively straight forward to hard. Golf was not charged and was an “add on” but the cost of buggies made the deal less of a bargain. We mistakenly thought we had buggies included and then had to pay €48 per buggy (people who played before midday were €78). We felt a bit conned because of this expectation.

Book early as the hotel is very popular and tee times at a premium

Although the rounds were slow - 4.5hours for a two ball in a buggy, you accept it as 'holiday golf'. We did get paired up after 9 holes with another 2 ball, which was fine. We thought the buggies were expensive - €48 per buggy per day, but you need one as the distances from green to tee were a long way.
