Carved into the indigenous flora and fauna, and through the natural wetland, the Golden Bear's creation is as beautiful as it is challenging. From the championship tee markers, the longest combination stretches to 7,165 yards, but there are tees to suit everyone, from professionals to beginners.
Risk versus reward is the theme around Moon Palace, which includes nerve-jangling tests, not least at the signature 17th; the short hole is played to an island green, so its all or nothing!
The courses are maintained in pristine condition throughout the year, which is why so many escape to Cancun for some golf in the sun.
No need for a hire car here - the air-conditioned shuttle vans will transport you from the resort to the first tee!
Moon Spa Golf Club is ranked as one of the best courses in the Caribbean
Considered among the most distinguished works of the legendary Golden Bear, this incredible 7060-yard layout offers extraordinary beauty and challenge for all levels of golfers. The undisturbed coastal landscape will remind players of a traditional links course, while well-protected greens, ever changing trade-winds and strategically placed bunkers combine to offer an enjoyable yet challenging test of golf.
Offering the perfect combination of modernism with nature, the Puerto Cancun Golf Club is surrounded by a stunning 183 acre ecological reserve, with two of the holes resting right in front of the Caribbean Sea. The Golf Club is located in the heart of Cancun and can be accessed via a 30 minute transfer north of Moon Palace.
The Moon Palace embodies the Cancun spirit, where the vibrant buzz of Mexico's premier holiday destination is merged with the seclusion and tranquility of a first class resort.
Couples, groups and families alike will appreciate the comfort of the Moon Palace, which presents a choice of 2,031 rooms and suites, offering views of the lush gardens or the ocean. The superior rooms include a double jacuzzi bath, while all are superbly appointed, including private balconies or terraces, and are elegantly decorated. In room facilities include air-conditioning, double whirlpool tub, flat smart television, wireless internet connection, mini-bar, drinks cabinet, hair dryer and hair straighteners, bathrobe and slippers and safe.
Just 10 minutes from the heart of Cancun and its action, the resort is popular not least for its impeccable customer service, and is the ideal destination for an escape to the sunny shores of Cancun.
The entire resort is constructed around the network of pools, including two ‘swim-up' bars, where you can enjoy a refreshing cocktail without leaving the water! Relaxation is the buzz word throughout Cancun, so kicking back on the sun terraces and taking advantage of the incredible climate is highly recommended. If that is not enough, head for the spa, fitness centre or the tennis courts.
Your Golf Travel.com clients benefit from complimentary shuttles around the resort, and transfers into downtown Cancun.
The Moon Palace Cancun has its own convention centre, capable of hosting large scale meetings and conferences.
The resort also has 13 separate restaurants, 13 bars and its own nightclub.

THE HOTEL WAS VERY COMFERTABLE AND GOOD FOR BOTH FAMILIES AND GOLFERS . THERE WAS PLENTY OF CHOICES FOR RESTURANTS BUT IN A COUPLE IT WAS NOT BRILLIANT ANS SERVICE WAS A BIT SLOW . THE ONLY THING WE FOUND FUSTRATING WAS THE CONSTANT HARD SELL FOR US TO SIGN UP FOR SOME TYPE OF TIME SHARE ,THIS EVEN HAPPENED WHEN WE TURNED AROUND FROM CHECKING OUT

Great facility. We dealt with Tom Francis from YGT and as usual Tom was first class. We had some medical issues but overall our group of 22 had a wonderful time. Never short of food and drink and free room service was real bonus. One small issue was that there was only one beer option which was Corona that not everyone likes. There were no bottled beer options. Also the Seaweed that collects on the beach (Sagassum) has a dreadful pungent smell not dissimilar to rotten eggs. When the wind blew infavourably it was extremely uncomfortable and very sickening. No fault there attached to YGT. Staff were great and really appreciated tips which we got the impression not every group gave them. Pools are fantastic and clean. Overall a super spot

Very clean and comfortable though now becoming a little dated. Wide variety of eating places though those that had to be booked disadvantaged golfers as bookings were taken by internal phone from 10am no more than 24hours before when we were on the golf course and by the time we finished our round all places were booked. On inquiry with public relations there appeared to be no way round this. All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel.

This was our first visit to Mexico. We wanted a luxury winter break golfing in the sun. Thomas Holmes at 'Yourgolftravel' suggested Moon Palace, as although the golf was a big part of our trip, we also wanted relaxing 5* facilities and it was great to talk to Thomas who'd been to Moon Palace and could give us his 1st hand experience of the location before our trip. We weren't disappointed the staff at both the Moon Palace & the Riviera course (which was also included in our deal) were absolutely fantastic. In particluar the team of starters were always very helpful & the team organising the tee bookings always so friendly and flexible, helping us change tee times & even swap courses during our stay. We must also mention the bar staff in the club house as well as those providing refreshments around the course who again were also very friendly, helping to make our rounds enjoyable. Our accommodation was in Sunrise and again this was faultless, the choice of restaurants, quality of the food. space around the pool areas and the ever welcoming approach of all staff we met, made this a fantastic trip to Moon Palace Cancun. In particular we liked the fact that although quality of the whole complex was 5*+ there was still a 'laid back' relaxed approach to everything. It is definitely going to be the 1st of many trips!

The course is challenging as left or right off the fairway is simply dead. Local rule says drop out for a shot if you go into trees. Great layout with many spectacular holes. Beers in clubhouse a must and very enjoyable.

The days we were there it rained heavily at the outset which led to wet fairways. Hence cart path only with buggies. It did not stop us from enjoying our golf as staff were very accommodating in terms of order of play between different tee times. Necessary because of the need to walk across fairways to and from the buggies. The rating for course condition clearly was influenced by the amount of rain and weather.

The courses were very wet as they had very heavy rain the week before we got there but normally would have been good, buggies were very expensive at £65. and it was too hot for us to play it more than once

Suited couples playing together as the degree of difficulty was well balanced between men's tees and lady's tees.

It has to be remembered that this is a 'holiday based' golf course with a high demand, particularly at this time of year and being conveniently located on the hotel complex, very popular with the golfers staying on the resort. As such there can be instances where some waiting on the tees is inevitable. That said the starters do a great job managing the three nine course format & overall the ground staff do an excellent job and in a very friendly manner, ensuring the course is maintained to a high standard. During our 2 week stay we played 12 rounds and thoroughly enjoyed every round, especially as we were under no pressure, but got to meet and play with a number of different fellow golfers who were met and sometimes thought the course was in excellent condition.

Recognising that this is a 'holiday based' golf course with a high demand, particularly at this time of year, we thought the course was in excellent condition. Also being slightly away from the Moon Palace Hotel Complex (approx. 10 min. shuttle), it was less busy, with little waiting or queuing between holes.
