North Shore Golf Club
The course at North Shore is not a pure links because parts of it are parkland in style, but it is beautifully maintained and a very enjoyable challenge to play in any weather. The par-71, 6214-yard course is laid out over two loops, allowing the option of a quick nine holes in the evening if you so desire.
It was designed by the legendary course architect, James Braid, who won the Open Championship five times between 1901 and 1910. He transformed a piece of exposed coastline and lush tree lined parkland into a very memorable golf course and, like all good seaside course designers, took into account the prevailing easterly wind - which can cause even the best players a headache - when laying out the course.
North Shore also boasts a short game practice area and a putting green, and buggies are also available to hire from the pro shop.
Accommodation at North Shore Hotel and Golf Club
The North Shore Hotel and Golf Club enjoys an unrivalled position, enjoying views across the Wash to the Norfolk coast, not to mention some fabulous vistas over the golf course. A warm and traditional welcome is on offer here for the travelling golfer. Lots of dark wood and soft, comfortable seating makes the hotel a very inviting place to be, and the restaurant serves up excellent English fare cooked with locally sourced ingredients - the Sunday carvery is particularly popular among guests. The James Braid bar is open all day every day, offering bar snacks and a wide range of real ales and lager - an ideal place to relax and enjoy those concentrating on the greens outside.
There are 36 bedrooms in all, comprising singles, twins, doubles, triples and a quad. All rooms are en-suite with TV, direct line telephone, tea and coffee facilities. Most have spectacular views of the golf course and sea. The Residents Lounge is equipped with satellite TV so that you do not miss out on those favourite sporting events.
There is ample parking for 100 cars and the hotel is ideally situated for those wishing to enjoy the nightlife in Skegness, which is only a very short taxi ride or drive away.

Fantastic golf course with a good challenge. Greens are top level. Staff very efficient and food is very good too. The atmosphere created by staff was a little tense, but they were very focussed on delivering a good service. One member of staff actually went to a shop in the middle of breakfast for gluten free bread. Which impressed me.

Staff are friendly but sadly the hotel rooms are of a poor quality and urgently need refurbishment. The restaurant food was nice with good choices. We wanted single occupancy rooms and didn’t mind paying the enhanced rate, this is only fair as one guest in a two bed room. Unfortunately we were put into tiny rooms with one uncomfortable single bed, so why are we paying an enhanced rate for a room that can clearly only accommodate one person? The website boasts that all rooms have either a view of the sea or the golf course, not true. The single room had a view of the roof and a noisy extractor fan.

All the staff were helpful smiling and friendly. Restaurant not open in evening so are in bar. Food well cooked and presented just a shame it was the bar. Breakfast basic English breakfast, hearty without the extras. All in all we enjoyed the stay.

Enjoyed our stay and the golf course was in excellent condition.
Overall great hotel but let down by having no lunch service on the two days we completed our rounds, missed one lunch time by about 10 mins.
Good following a round is important part of the golf experience

The hotel although dated exudes personality all the rooms are different and for my part my room was excellent others whilst all were in agreement that the rooms were extremley clean there were minor problems which didnt impact too badly on their stay. The staff were extremeley accommodating the food and service for the evening meal was really good the quality and tastiness of the food was very good, The breakfast was also very good

It is over 20 years since i have visited North Shores Golf Hotel and i was not disappointed with what i found.
The Hotel was very clean and was constantly being cleaned under covid restrictions the rooms were again clean and well appointed although our was bang under the Pro shop and was a bit noisy from 7am due to groups going out on the course so a lay in was out of the question.
The food which was inclusive in our deal was of very good quality and plenty of it, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful in all areas, and i will surely be going again.

The hotel is very tired and needs refurbishment, the bath facilities are very poor with a shower door which does not open fully, black mould over the wall tiles, but the linen is clean. The staff are excellent, however breakfast is very limited, no fruit or yogurts or continental breakfasts. The saving grace for this hotel is the food other than breakfast is lovely, an excellent chef.

The service was very good in both the restaurant and the bar, everyone very friendly. The Breakfast was spot on.

If you have not played the famous Braid Northshore then you are missing an altogether very pleasing experience. This course is for any level of golfer,it has your imagination working overtime and is great fun to play in any weather. Our two day short stay was a complete success starting with an effortless booking process all details and needs dealt with most efficiently by Yourgolftravel,i am very impressed with this service. We were a party of 8 gentleman golfers 7 of which had not visited this gem before and all were highly delighted with there golfing break. The weather although very windy and blowing off the Sea was fine and we also enjoyed the last round of The Master's sat in the Hotel bar.Give it a try and i feel sure you will be back for more.*****
