Rooms were excellent and the staff were particularly helpful and friendly, more so than I have ever expereienced at a hotel.

Great weekend no complaints

On check in faced with a £50 deposit per room per night. This was an extra £300 for my group. Food was OK but service was very poor waiting a long time some times up to 30 min. Some staff very friendly but most were not. Overall very disappointed, second time we have visited, won't be going back.

We stayed because we were playing at Holinwell the following day. Enjoyed the course which was in good condition. Staff very helpful, food was fine but quite weighty and high calorie meals probably typical for men’s golf tours. These are not quite so attractive to women, would love to have seen some lighter more refined options. Good value for money and the staff were very welcoming.

Great place and highly recommended. Two good golf courses in excellent condition. The greens on both were as good as you’ll find. The members and visitors also repair their pitchmarks which is always a good sign.

We arrived and ordered breakfast, there were items missing from two of the meals. No chips available at lunchtime. Evening meal a disaster, reception changed out reservation time, but did not inform the kitchen, food cold, hard, and mostly inedible. Breakfast no plates, coffee machine not working, hardly and fruit or pastries, no choice of eggs. Hot food ok, but no mushrooms or black pudding. The Manager did provide complimentary food and drink, this was appreciated, however the evening was ruined.

Great golf had by all. Pity Food is limited when paying half board with your golf trip. Rooms ok but had better WiFi shocking in rooms Food selection poor

I would absolutely recommend this facility to anyone. Staff were fantastic.

We were 3 golfers, booked a package of dinner bed breakfast two rounds of golf. Staff were very helpful, rooms adequate, food good solid "golfing" meals.. The only really poor aspect were the showers in the Locker Room. Awful. There was poor pressure, one shower head was missing, and they are communal. So for such a facilities not at all good. Spoilt our stay a little bit.

If you want a top class hotel to stay and play book the Nottinghamshire can’t fault it Friendly helpful and polite will go back there was 16 of us drinking and the price was same as we pay at a pub also they take cash

What a place!! Cannot speak highly enough of the staff and the place on a whole!! Rooms were beautiful and very modern as was the bar and restaurant. Loved it!!

Superb venue - two excellent courses with superb rooms. Staff that served us were excellent and deserve 5* but sadly they were a few staff short Sunday evening. Facilities were excellent but a games room sadly lacking for our needs.

This is a nice hotel, with friendly staff, giving good value. It is comfortable, only 30 rooms, with a good enough varied bar, and a restaurant serving a good selection of food.

Limited food choice at meal times, could do with a safe and maybe fridge/mini bar, some rooms without air conditioning (not normally a problem but it was 85 degrees)

Very good, nice room although Tv had an issue, unwatchable. Food good, but limited menu. Could do with more bar staff. There needs to be some alterations to make the balcony safer as I was hit by a golf ball in the neck.

The room was small. Bed comfy. Bathroom modern. Unfortunately it needed a better clean. We found an empty crisp packet and a dead moth. Evening meal was fine but the breakfast was underwhelming. No fruit no yogurts and no brown bread.

A very good venue for golf - solid but not exceptional. Courses very interesting and well maintained.

Rooms good , space, sharing with a mate so single beds a necessity , shower and bathrooms excellent 2nd night spoilt somewhat by roudy group, messing about in corridor & next door room at 4 am

The stay at the Nottinghamshire Golf and Country was a very pleasant experience we arrived early so could have a drink before we played and the welcome we got was warm and pleasant. The pro in the shop was really helpful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. After our rounds the lady on reception was waiting for us to get in so I could organise our rooms and our evening meals. The rooms were more than adequate with lovely beds and the bathrooms had walk in showers with heated floors. The evening meal was really tasty and there was a surprising amount unlike some of the places we have stayed which made everyone happy and the buffet breakfast was lovely as well. The staff in the hotel/bar were also top notch and nothing was too much trouble and all the ladies had smiles on their faces which makes such a difference.

Fantastic few nights, lovely rooms, food was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Ideally located to get a 15-20 minute cab into Nottingham for a couple of nights out. Only slight negative was a slight lack of choice at breakfast if you didn’t want the cooked version, and there was a smell in certain areas outside the hotel that was possibly from a cess pit?

An excellent stay was let down by the evening meal, it was of limited choice and average quality.

With the exception of the 'Manageress' who was great the staff we are young kids were not very professional generally. The Restaurant menu offered was very poor such a limited choice (Nowhere near any of the golf resorts we've stayed in over the last 15 tears!). The food was okay but portions small. Breakfast was again limited if you didn't want a full English there were no other options (no cereal or continental??). Wedding parrties in the roiom above the bar every night so come only hear the massive bass through the ceiling. Could not run a tab over the weekend against your room. Had to settle up at the best the end of the night not had this issue before?? Generally very disappointing would definitely not be coming back, such a shame.

Overall the hotel was fine. Rooms good but there was problems during the stay. There was a water leak that meant no cooked breakfast on the first day and no showers for some on the second day.

Rooms were fantastic, staff were friendly, no negatives from me.

The facilities, layout and rooms were very good. Our only complaints were: a) the limited menu offering - due apparently to staffing issues due to Covid. b) the twin beds were not long enough - would insist on a double bed next time.

We were given twin rooms when we had booked doubles (which was sorted out) but we were told that they had been told that we requested twins. Also our room had a dirty towel in a bottom drawer in the bathroom plus an empty and half empty bottle of the complimentary body wash.

Clean and comfirtable

Accommodation was good, biggest let down food was same choices every night and very little of it. Staff were all very young and poorly trained, drinks were always incorrect and waiting 15 minutes for them to turn up.

Hotel very good. The evening meal was excellent better than other golf breaks although breakfast was cool but i'm sure they would have warmed it up if asked as the staff were excellent.

Rooms were spacious and very comfortable with modern bathroom fittings. The clubhouse is modern with a great restaurant and really friendly staff. Drinks are a very reasonable price (unlike many hotel chains!).

Good bar and breakfast. Lunch menu fine. Dinner menu v limited. Geared for carb eaters- pie, fish and chips, burgers. Nothing light and just replicated the hot choices from the bar menu. So disappointing but the desserts v gd. Staff friendly, helpful and organised.

The hotel was quite small compared to some of the marriott ones i have stayed at. The bar and restaurant are seperated by glass doors. All the normal beers available. Dinner was a carvery which was pretty much as standard. Breakfast was help youself with all the usual fare. The pro shop was well stocked but pricey! All the staff were pleasant and cheerful.The bedrooms were on the small side but equipped with all mod cons,reasonable size bed and great shower.The only downside was lack of car parking.

Hotel, Bar & Rooms all fabulous. Staff cannot do enough to help & make you welcome. Food not quite up to scratch; breakfast needs to be hotter & 2 course table d'hote menu a little disappointing......but still fantastic value for money....& we will return!

Group who played in front of us didn’t seem to appreciate each fourball had a tee time and seemed to tee off whenever they felt like it so we were late to tee off and a bit bunched up and slow when we started, it evened out after about five or six holes. Would be good to emphasise this to large groups and give them all their tee times. The course was in good condition and we enjoyed it. A fair challenge.

Not as good as the championship course but it has some very challenging holes. Like the championship course it was in fantastic condition and the greens were excellent and very consistent.

!4 of the holes had water...so being visitors and not quite knowing distances and directions we lost a lot of balls! Quite tight, and the 18th is not very memorable. But overall we enjoyed both rounds.

A good course for visitors, having fun. The fairways were probably too long, and I can imaging it being wet in the winter.

We had an issue with a golf day starting on 1st and 10th as the groups on 10th came around when we were starting so we had to integrate with these groups which we were delayed and we could not go out all together and we managed just to get in before the light went not happy to say the least.

Wasn't a fan of the course, it was as if it was squeezed into a small patch of land. Was trick to play blind.

A great day had by all

Superb for all abilities

Weather again made this really difficult but the course was enjoyable. Some fairways needed cutting but greens were in good condition

Overall we enjoyed the course, although it had suffered from all of the recent wet weather and wind.

Good quality flat course in lush green condition with quick greens, and a number of tricky unforgiving holes with numerous water hazards. As with the championship course, prior knowledge is a potential shot saver, particularly the dogleg 15th. So it is a good challenge, didn't think it was quite as good as the championship course, but would definitely play it again, and recommend the challenge to anyone.

My favourite of the 2 courses. A very good challenge, a flat course in very nice lush green condition, the handicap board shows it is around 4 shots higher handicap than my home course, and it was tougher on first playing. If you keep straight you can score well, but there are sufficient tricky shots to keep it really interesting. Knowing the course helps, the 2nd time round on a three day break was more enjoyable than the first, there are a number of doglegs to 'discover' what lies beyond, so it is a tactical rather than big hitters course, although there are numerous opportunities to fire long. The greens were in good condition, and a bit quick, some with very interesting approaches over water. We were a four ball, 2 mid, 2 high handicaps, first time on the course, but got round in good time. I will definitely put this on my shortlist of courses to play again, and would recommend it to anyone as high handicappers can do well if they are up for the challenge.

A more challenging course, driven by the OOB stakes and numerous water hazards, but still very enjoyable. Greens had recently been treated, thus not as good as greens on signature course , but understand why.

Interesting course. Well maintained. It was great to see plenty of green keepers too. The starter was really friendly. Greens for a resort course were good. Bunkers on some holes lacked sand. Overall we enjoyed the course. The weather was brilliant and of course that enhances your experience too

The front 9 felt pretty new and like a farmers field however the back 9 was really interesting and would definitely play the back 9 again

Course flooded due to torrential rain so didn’t play.

Constant planes and helicopters flying overhead to air field by the course was very irritating.

Slightly easier course but still very interesting .. so great holes in the middle esp. the par 5 index 1

Out of the 2 courses everyone preferred the championship course

Considering the amount of rain we've had recently the course was very good

The signature course was slightly easier than the championship course. The greens were in the same great condition although some of the te boxes couldve done with cutting, which to be fair was happening towards the end of the round. This course however was a bit more confusing to negotiate and a couple of holes you find yourself walking near to the accommodation and around the back of the driving range to find the next tee. The last hole is a really nice well throughout hole and is surrounded by water a truly great finishing hole.

The championship course was a real test. There is lots of OB and plenty of water to assist in the losing of golf balls. The tees were ok and the greens were very good. The only thing that slightly let the course down was the amount of standing water around the course, in some areas of the course we lost balls in very wet boggy areas on the fairways. Would really like to go back znd play the 1st hole again when it is finished because it looks great.

Very very slow had to walk off was by far over booked took 2hrs 45 to do 9 holes.

Could struggle a bit without a course planner as a few of our groups did. Plenty of water to aim at greens were some of the best we have played on.

Good little course that can be played and enjoyed by golfers of all levels

Lots of water and bone hard fairways made this a real test, and then the greens were the fastest we faced all week. It’s having a bit of work done in places, but generally we all thought it was a tough track, and enjoyed the challenge.

The lesser of the two on site golf courses, but after the first 6 or 7 holes, the course gets more interesting and varied. The greens were good, maybe a bigger sign is required to point golfers in the right direction after the 7th. Our first four ball weren’t concentrating and played the 18th after 7, so got themselves lost!! Scoring was better on this course as it’s a lot more forgiving.

We found it slightly easier as the slope indexes suggest but still equally enjoyable. Had to come out after 12 due to a deluge so we were disappointed about that. We will definitely be back next year to do a full round!!

Tough course and the weather changed to windy and much colder. Shot 93 off 21 so just about played to my handicap. Challenging course but very well kept and lots of re-turfing and improvements going on.

Lovely course. Weather was perfect which helped. I'm playing off 22 and went round in 90 and as the course rating put my handicap at 26 that was 7 under my handicap (Par 71) so I really enjoyed it.

The greens had been spiked and sanded when we visited so putting was a lottery.

There was a larger corporate golf day with very inexperienced golfers so teed late and round took 5 hours

Great course got stuck behind a four ball that didn’t let us through (2ball) but otherwise plenty of water to deal with , just an all round nice course.

Lovely course , well maintained, some challenging holes , beautiful ponds with big carps in them . If you like golf and nature this is a course for you.

This course has been altered with the introduction of small lakes and water courses which added to the enjoyment of the round. Again there were not many on the course and we were able to enjoy a relaxed round.

Our group were all good golfers so the course was a good test of golf for us. However for less experienced golfers it would be difficult. We followed 3 young men on our first round who were having lots of problems (fortunately they had buggies so didn’t hold us up too much)

GREAT to be able to play such an amazing course , had to think your way round. Greens were immaculate and everything was in perfect condition.

Course was in excellent condition. Now for the down side from the pro shop onwards no interest at all in anything we wanted. No starter no course marshalls, as with both courses members just turned up and we had to stand aside and let them go, 16 minutes on day 3.

More challenging than the signature course, greens entirely different to the signature course and lot quicker, a tougher challenge, in contrast to the signature course, but also in excellent condition

This course is also open,with the first few holes very score friendly. It does get more difficult around the turn, with a par 3 over water and a great stroke index 1. with water and out of bounds the whole length. The last is also a good finish with a par 5 into an island green. The greens were amazing for the time of year,probably better than the championship course. score 40 points handicap 16.

The course is quite open,with its main defence being out of bounds and water hazards on pretty much all holes. The last few holes are quite tough with a great par five last which big hitters can reach in 2. Greens were in fantastic condition. score 33 points. handicap 16.

Much better - just under 4 hours for a 4 ball.....but course was much quieter.....really enjoyed the course & a good challenge of golf!

Really enjoyed the golf & course in pretty good condition considering the summer we have had...….BUT round was very slow......5 hours on a Sunday afternoon...….either too many people on the course as 8 minute tee times is not enough for 4 balls or you are letting people on the course who cannot play...….Please use a marshall to sort out hold-ups else you will put off people coming.....!

I would describe this course as average to hard depending on how well you manage the course. Lots of water. A great challenge though. Was very slow on the day as there was a competition so we had to cut short the round unfortunately. Would like to give it another go.
