The Nottinghamshire's best established course is best viewed in two distinct halves; the front nine is laid out around an intimidating network of lakes and waterways, which can easily account for the majority of your golf ball supply! The closing stretch is bordered by impressive woodland, and though different in style, is just as enjoyable.
Originally a nine-hole course, The Signature Course was transformed by Peter Alliss in 1997, and the revision has made it a real treat. The signature hole is the short 16th, whose green is perched at the edge of a large lake – in the middle of the same lake is the nerve jangling 11th tee!
Set in 340 acres of stunning countryside, The Residence Boutique Hotel is a contemporary, luxury style of accommodation where all rooms have a unique feel and boutique finishing touches. Twin and double rooms, as well as family and bridal suites, are bookable here making for a comfortable stay for all sizes of golf party. For those wishing for a little more privacy, the Superior Suites provide the best accommodation with a private entrance.

On check in faced with a £50 deposit per room per night. This was an extra £300 for my group. Food was OK but service was very poor waiting a long time some times up to 30 min. Some staff very friendly but most were not. Overall very disappointed, second time we have visited, won't be going back.

We stayed because we were playing at Holinwell the following day. Enjoyed the course which was in good condition. Staff very helpful, food was fine but quite weighty and high calorie meals probably typical for men’s golf tours. These are not quite so attractive to women, would love to have seen some lighter more refined options. Good value for money and the staff were very welcoming.

Great place and highly recommended. Two good golf courses in excellent condition. The greens on both were as good as you’ll find. The members and visitors also repair their pitchmarks which is always a good sign.

Unfortunately the two courses only had 9 holes open and to be honest they shouldn’t of been open either it was so wet and boggy , it was more annoying that we didn’t know about the closures or condition before we arrived . You could see the potential of the course though so I would love to play it in the summer
