The Oxfordshire Golf Club
Jones vision for the Oxfordshire is a modern parkland course in from the American mould, and the incredible course in its short existence has already featured on the European Tour hosting the Benson & Hedges International, Anderson World Matchplay and the English Ladies Open. Some of the professional game’s most prominent names have graced the course, which remains one of England’s best championship tests.
From the tournament tees The Oxfordshire reaches 7,192 yards, which is more than enough for most golfing mortals, and throughout the layout are dotted some majestic holes. None is more famous than the 17th; this incredible par 5 has been named in Golf Magazine’s top 500 holes in the world, and is typical of the golfing adventure created by Jones.
Signature hole: 17th hole, Par 5 - 588 yards from the white tees.
A straight drive is required on this nerve-racking par-5, 17th hole to avoid the bunker on the right and the water to the left. The lake runs along the entire left edge of the fairway, with the green situated in the distance across the water. The safe but longer option is to play around the lake, while the longer hitters can have a crack at either a second fairway or the green itself in two.
Along with The Grove, The Oxfordshire is at the forefront of modern English championship golf design, with terrific facilities that make it ideal for hosting high profile corporate golf events as well as being the ultimate stop on a golf tour around Oxford.
How to get to The Oxfordshire Golf Club

Fabulous course
Nice hotel if a bit pricy at the bar
10 / 10
10 / 10
Hotel facilities and rooms were very good and staff were excellent. Some drinks were a bit pricey but to be expected in a hotel of this quality. The 3 course meal served as part of our package was very good
8 / 10
Nice hotel, good food good facilities
6 / 10
Staff were all polite and professional throughout the hotel. The hotel itself looks like it needs some serious investment as everything looks a little dated. Room was more than adequate for a one night stay. The overall hotel facilities were fine for everything we required. Food in the restaurant was a mixed bag. Our evening meal was very nice but the breakfast in the morning was a sorry looking plate of filth. I’d like to congratulate The Oxfordshire on being the location where I’ve paid the most for a pint anywhere in my life. £9 for a pint of Guinness which let’s be honest is disgusting.
10 / 10
What a fantastic stay. The hotel facilities, service, staff and food was amazing. The golf course is an excellent challenge and a joy to play. We had golfers of varying abilities frim 10hcp to 26,and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The only downside was the price of some of the drinks. £9 for a pint of Guinness, £4 for half a pint of coke is rediculous, but we are already looking to return next year.
8 / 10
Restaurant, supplementary steak was very tough to eat on the evening - would recommend a different cut of steak
10 / 10
We couldn’t fault anything about our stay. Everyone pleasant and obliging, very good food and service.
8 / 10
Nice hotel needs a bit of tlc food was great value bedrooms were good and comfy
8 / 10
Hotel, was great overall, rooms spacious and modern. Bars areas were small and service was slow. Cost of drinks was very expensive
10 / 10
Hotel, accommodation and food very good as always
8 / 10
It works well for a party of 12 golfers.
10 / 10
Really good few days away playing golf with friends, food could not be faulted, excellent quality, portion size spot on. The food selection was a bit of a faff & had to be done online weeks in advance.
8 / 10
Nice hotel, our group of 12 enjoyed the food (except the pork belly 😔) Bars a little pricey and had no air con upstairs once the spike bar closed. (The weather was 32 when we visited) overall a good standard and nice atmosphere though.
6 / 10
Not the best. Hotel & room look & feel tired & in need of a refurbishment. Evening meal was ok but breakfast was to order, not a buffet, & frankly poor. Would I go back? Probably not
8 / 10
Overall an enjoyable experience and would go again.
8 / 10
Rooms were large and well equipped. Course was in fantastic condition and not at all overcrowded. Nice driving range and fantastically well maintained chipping and practice putting areas.
We would say that the food did not match the quality of the rest of the hotel etc.
6 / 10
Lovely accommodation, unfortunately the food wasn't great, which is a shame as it was 2 years ago when we last went (2 of the meals were sent back and £75 for 4 sandwiches with coffee seemed excessive)
8 / 10
Hotel on the golf course, what more could you want. Drinks pricey and evening food not the highest standard but can’t complain. The rooms were excellent and spacious. The staff were lovely.
6 / 10
Enjoyed my stay. Staff were really friendly. Just really disappointed with my food. We arrived early for breakfast which we took in the spike bar. Breakfast was £15 and you had to buy coffee on top of that. The eggs were pre-cooked rubbery slop and almost inedible and the tiny pot of beans was cold. This was supposed to set us up for the day so really disappointed.
Again, evening meal; paid extra for the steak which was so chewy I couldn’t swallow it - really disappointed again.
Golf and spa were great though.
8 / 10
party of 6. we found the hotel comfortable, the staff very helpful and efficient, food and drink up to standard. The venue is easy to reach, just off the M40
8 / 10
Everything is very good with this hotel and complex and I would come back again, but, £7+ a pint is borderline exploitation. As is £29+ a bottle of average wine
8 / 10
The hotel was fine but starting to look tired. The food and staff were very good.
10 / 10
Staff were all delightful especially the lovely lady on reception and the young guy in the bar
All very helpful
Room was great
Spa was great-only fault was shower in spa didn’t have much power-but shower in room was fine
Would definitely stay again
8 / 10
Came here for a golf break. Room was lovely but could do with more toiletries. When booked it says that these were all included in the room so I didn’t bring any however there was only one small pouch of shampoo/shower gel combined which was not enough for 2 people (or 1 person if you showered at night and the morning). No conditioner. No liquid soap. No water in the room. Only one teeny tiny biscuit each. Only 4 tiny milk pots.
Nice evening meal and breakfast.
4 / 10
The hotel is large and appears to be very well set up for large groups. The bars have plenty of space and are well furnished. However there are several areas the hotel has compromised on. The staff are young and whilst polite do not appear to be well trained. There is not enough of them resulting in long waiting times to be served. The breakfasts, whether in the spike bar or breakfast room are expensive and of very poor quality. The evening meal was good but think the guy in charge, serving us our pre-ordered food, was going for a speed record on how quick he could get our starter, main and desserts out. Lastly if you fancied a pint of guiness be prepared to pay £9! As we were there for the golf it wasn’t something that spoilt our 2 days, but would suggest with a bit of effort the hotel could make significant improvements.
10 / 10
Excellent location, staff very attentive. Food as part of 3 course set menu was excellent. While course was very wet, we still enjoyed our break. Perhaps wait for slightly better weather as course was really interesting. Spa was very nice.
6 / 10
Can't complain only stayed 1 night
8 / 10
This is a comfortable hotel with all you should expect from such a venue. The only minor point was that our room was directly over the supplies delivery bay and refuse collection, both of which some us much too early. Balance that with the most helpful and courteous staff and early morning noise is but a little thing.
10 / 10
Fantastic venue for a short golf break.
8 / 10
All ladies thoroughly enjoyed their stay from beginning to end. The staff were r extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. It can do with a bout of updating but I understand that this will be happening. That said the rooms were comfortable and clean
6 / 10
Comfortable rooms. Staff seem young & inexperienced in customer relations. Breakfasts were generally fine but our dining experiences in Sakura restaurant were sub par. 4 of us rejected main course as inedible. Young waiters did their best with no management support. We have stayed here previously without any issues but will reconsider returning.
8 / 10
Rooms were clean, roomy and well appointed. Only comment was no soap in dispenser only sachets. Our group of 8 really enjoyed the food, good variety, but had to choose a week or two in advance.
8 / 10
Easy to find and good location with attractive views. Good looking building, comfortable rooms and the food was very good. Drinks choice was fine if a little pricey. Service was good - especially at reception, in the restaurant and in the pro shop.
6 / 10
Very disappointed after booking a twin room and a double room we were allocated two doubles for our party of three.
I thought I received details of my booking before departure last year but didn't receive anything after confirmation this year.

Overnight stay for 14 golfers check in was simple staff very friendly and polite food and drinks although little on the expensive side

10 / 10
Lovely hotel with very friendly staff
10 / 10
Easy access from the motorway, hotel and accommodation was perfect. Ideal golf location.
Fabulous golf course kept in perfect condition, hats to the green keeper and his staff.
Will definitely make the journey again.
6 / 10
We had a confirmed reservation for 4 rooms for single occupancy. 24 hours before our arrival we were advised that only 2 of the booked rooms would be available to us and we would have a twin room for the 2 people. No apology from the hotel. On the day of arrival only 2 twin rooms were offered.
Yourgolf managed to get the hotel to reinstate the booking to 2 single occupancy and 1 twin room. The hotel reception were ineffective, unapologetic and lacked any experience in customer service.
Worse still we have still not received a refund for the 2 single occupancy supplements which we had prepaid.
Hotel is tired. Food is ok at best.
We wouldn't recommend this hotel
8 / 10
Overall the hotel is looking a bit tired, scratched and damaged furniture in bedroom, stained and damaged tables in dining room.
Evening meal was not good experience, the restaurant had no note of our reservation, even though I had a confirmation, however a table was promptly made up for us. The main courses were awful, overcooked and dry pork and one of my guests had undercooked and cold chicken. Breakfast however was very good and helped to redeem the disappointment of the previous evening. Overall it would appear investment is needed for a refurb, the spa in particular is very tired, the sun lounger Matts were stained, discoloured and very uninviting. Staff were all very good. In conclusion it’s probably not the place for couples such as we were but OK for all male golf groups or societies.
10 / 10
Excellent all round.

4 / 10
This hotel IS the 90s. Incredibly tired & tatty for such a destination.
The biggest disappointment was food. We arrived & my husband ordered a full English breakfast before we headed out. It was pitiful & looked like it had been sat under a heat lamp for some time.
Our evening meal was included in the package but we decided not to chance it & booked a local pub in Thame for the evening instead.
Breakfast the next day which was included was ok but nothing special.
Staff were all lovely & helpful.
Room was comfortable & well presented.
8 / 10
Overall the hotel was fine. Staff friendly and attentive, food good albeit not outstanding . The health club facilities were fine but the pool was very small and although the health club did not open until 6.30 am despite all the information told us it was 6.00 am. When we enquired at reception they said it normally opened “around 6.30.”
8 / 10
Great location and facilities. Set menu is a bit limited and the normal one expensive but with a Your Golf Travel package its not bad value for money.

We found the staff at the hotel very pleasant & helpful. Everything was generally fine and would defo use them again.

8 / 10
Really nice stay felt welcomed and good set up for dinner
10 / 10
Really good golf weekend package for myself and my son. Facilities excellent as was the golf course and staff very friendly and helpful all weekend. Prices at the bar quite high and close to London or Bristol prices hence only 4/5 for value for money.
4 / 10
The golf was in excellent condition well done.
The hotel looks tired in places with scuff marks on the walls in the bedroom where I suspect chairs had marked it.
On arrival we were informed the air con was not working (a basic requirement these days) however I noticed on trip advisor this was something which had been highlighted in July why has it not been fixed after 3 MONTHS?????
The visit to the spa was good and the treatment I booked was excellent.
This could be a fantastic hotel but money needs to be spent on it with lighter colour furnishing and flooring.
10 / 10
What a perfect Hotel and Golf Course for a golfers weekend away. From the Pro Shop team, the F&B team and the bar staff we were looked after very well.
4 / 10
Air con was broken in the room, which was uncomfortably hot. The rooms are starting to look a little tired.
8 / 10
Clean and comfortable.
Plenty of room to sit in bars and restaurants… with stunning views
8 / 10
The hotel staff were superb, from arrival to departure. The reception staff were so helpful, the catering and bar staff were friendly and obliging.
The food was good. They were very short staffed in the evenings, the hotel wasnt that busy but the poor barman was tending the bar, serving meals, collecting glasses etc.
The restaurant is quite small, and they put us in a private dining room the first evening but we felt there was no atmosphere. The second evening we sat in the restaurant, but again, it wasnt that busy and it also lacked in atmosphere.
The bedrooms were acceptable, my bathroom was looking very tired, the shower needs resealing and the plugholes need replacing. No water in the rooms or a mini bar.
10 / 10
10 / 10
The Oxfordshire is the perfect venue for golf tours, we had 16 golfers in our group & the hotel & staff were very accommodating even though there were other golf groups attending the Oxfordshire as well the staff provided excellent service from the bar to the restaurant and golf course. I would highly recommend this venue.
10 / 10
A great venue which catered for everything we needed as a party of twenty eight
They gave us our own function room for our evening meal and our breakfast the following morning
The only problem was the accommodation was in one building and the dining room in another and it was difficult to find at first
The room was excellent with the only problem being if two people are sharing the toiletries should be for two not one
10 / 10
All very good food was good and staff very helpful.
6 / 10
The food was excellent. The room had no air con as was broken, along with the safe. The golf was poor,no Marshall and we were behind a slow 4 ball who would not let us through.Had paid for an extra 2 more nights so reluctantly stayed on,won't return.Shane as it was a birthday treat.
8 / 10
Despite a slight mix up at check-in, which the staff sorted out quickly, no complaints. Breakfast was excellent, and 19 out of 21 people enjoyed their dinner. One issue with the rooms was that the air conditioning had been down since April, and they are finally repairing that this week (issue with spare parts) so rooms were on the warm side, but overall, the Group enjoyed the stay. Spike bar food prices on the high side, but pleased that the Lakes Bar remained open until 11.30pm.
8 / 10
As a group of 6 we really enjoyed our break the service was excellent and the food was really good. We would all re-visit
8 / 10
Very well organised for golfers, quick service and very polite.
8 / 10
It was all great. My guest experienced a blocked sink and did report it.
8 / 10
A very enjoyable 2 night golf weekend for 10 people. Hotel check in was excellent, very pleasant staff and very helpful. Rooms were comfortable, but heating and air conditioning wasn’t working. Fan heaters given if requested. Food was very good and service was above average. We were given a private room both evenings for dinner, which was a great bonus, as groups can be a little loud sometimes 😀. All in all, a really good experience, probably the best hotel/golf club our group has stayed in. Good value for money.
6 / 10
Large hotel but lacked atmosphere. Food was excellent. Room was ok. Beds could be better. Shower was terrible. Very low pressure. Tray was cracked and the seal at the bottom was a poor bodge job with mould on it. Staff were lovely. Bar prices were expensive.
8 / 10
The hotel was clean and the rooms were ok. The lounge bar didn’t have enough seats. Would have been nice for a sports bar maybe a pool table etc. good choice of drinks and the food was excellent
8 / 10
Comfortable hotel all round on a fine hill top setting .Particularly expensive bars but otherwise to be recommended.
10 / 10
All very good although shower was very low pressure
8 / 10
Excellent staff, quality rooms and superb food, bar prices a bit high and lacks a bit of atmosphere
6 / 10
Sadly the sauna was out of use. The beer choices were not great and v expensive.
8 / 10
Room was very comfortable, dinner was excellent with a good choice of menu.
However prices were high in the bar for beer and especially food,£20 for 2 very plain sausage baps and a tea and coffee
10 / 10
Thoroughly enjoyed our trip
8 / 10
Room very good but service in spike bar slow (shortage of staff?). Would have welcomed a pint of real ale. Had to manage with Guinness.
10 / 10
Located in the middle of the Oxfordshire golf course, hotel staff are warm and friendly and happy to help
8 / 10
Lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and good value dinner B&B. Staff at check in and check out weren’t aware of the fact the trip had already been fully paid up so one or two delays in settling in and settling up.
10 / 10
Really nice room. Clean tidy lovely shower Food very nice. Service very friendly welcoming,
8 / 10
Arrived at 11am a check-in was excellent both quick efficient and room available ahead of my golf round. Two little niggles for me regarding the room. Firstly no drinking water (which is a bug bear) so having to fill the kettle from the sink to make a cup of tea and then UHT rather than fresh milk (yuck). The second was the toiletries which were poor compared to stays at other hotels comprised off a solitary shower wash and a body cream un-used which came in a eco friendly pouch. Whilst I guess I could have asked for another one the room should be provided with two
8 / 10
Ok
10 / 10
We had 2 executive rooms on the ground floor next to one another which was great BUT all we could see from the windows were bushes and trees.!! Disappointing.
4 / 10
The facilities have seen better days. There has been a lack of investment in recent years which make the clubhouse seem tired. Not much atmosphere in the bars.
10 / 10
Lovely rooms with really friendly staff, from reception to the maids who made us feel welcome from the start.
8 / 10
Quality from arrival to departure 👍
4 / 10
The hotel is what let’s this place down. They only have two bars, one doesn’t open until the evening and both bars are closed early..we arrived back at midnight after eating out and both bars were closed which let it down. Plus they couldn’t offer a late checkout which for a hotel is bad. The guy behind the desk was a NO man! If the hotel was better I’d have rated the whole experience as 5 star.
8 / 10
Really nice stay with all the facilities needed
8 / 10
Overall, the stay was a positive one. The staff were helpful and polite, the rooms were very smart and comfy, and the spa facilities were a great addition.
There were a few things that put a slight dampener on the weekend.
On the Sunday evening after we played golf we had a couple drinks in the spike bar before food. The room was not that busy however the time taken to get a pint was really disappointing. As well, some of the pints poured were not of a great standard, and when paying £6 a pint you'd at least like to fully enjoy it!
There were 12 of us eating, 10 of which had the steak. There were very mixed reviews of the quality of the steak. I thought mine was great but a few others had very different views which was a shame.
Also on the evening, the golf masters was on TV and coming to a conclusion, with a full lounge bar area with at least 30 people in. They shut the bar at 11 45pm with everyone wanting a couple more drinks to enjoy such an occasion, but sadly this would not be accommodated.
Otherwise, it was a positive experience, and the general view is we would happily visit again, but possibly mostly because of the great golf course outside.
6 / 10
Lovely location and fantastic staff but the rooms need a little TLC. Very quiet, lovely view form the balcony too. Dinner food was very good and service good but the ambience could be improved, it's just like a big dining room with no character.
10 / 10
Rooms were well equipped and beds comfortable.
Service was excellent and we were made to feel welcome and valued customers throughout
8 / 10
10 / 10
Excellent location staff very helpful and friendly
8 / 10
Bar hotel and pro shop staff all very good not enough of them in the bar one fir 3@ so very long waiting time and you need a drink after long game of golf ! Over 20 mint wait ! On the course members play very slow don’t let us go through making it 4 and a half hours round from 3-5!
On booking no one informed us it’s carry only all February! Re good we order on booking GF food but they did not have it so breakfast was not great for the one need gf really disappointing there !
8 / 10
Overall good. There are staff shortages but they were very attentive. Food was good and prompt. Course was not at its best but it is late autumn. It is obviously at its best a fantastic challenge.
6 / 10
The restaurant was poorly managed and served. There was a lack of choice, especially for vegetarians.
10 / 10
Great service. Comfortable stay. Very nice spa facility
8 / 10
Excellent facilities and courteous staff. The food in the restaurant was top notch. Finding it hard to criticise - the only minor would be at peak times extra reception help would have been useful.
10 / 10
The Staff at the Oxfordshire were brilliant, from the moment we arrived till the moment we left, they answered all our questions and pointed us in the right direction. Will definitely be booking again
10 / 10
Hotel, very well laid out, clean and large rooms. Staff very helpful. Food was ok but nothing amazing but for the price fantastic.
8 / 10
Hotel was a very good for a golf resort hotel, food was good and service was excellent.

8 / 10
Lovely hotel although looking a bit tired and needing some TLC. Good sized rooms. Comfy bed. Short of staff so they’re very busy. However all were friendly and helpful.
10 / 10
The rooms were clean, bed was comfy so all was good.
10 / 10
Excellent venue good was top notch.

10 / 10
Very good golf course and well mangaged golf venue, the course was in A1 condition and a pleasure to play
Lovely hotel and good location food of a high standard as the golf course was,
At present they shut the bar a little too early in the evening and the there was no half way house to buy drinks weather was in the 30 .
Worth a visit Great weekend
10 / 10
Everything you need, great rooms, staff were brilliant. Food was top notch,
Fantastic all round weekend
10 / 10
Despite having to operate under Covid restrictions, the Hotel staff went out of their way to make my golf society's break as easy and enjoyable as possible. Every one of the staff, in the Bars, restaurant and reception scored 10 out of 10 for their helpful and friendly attitude.
8 / 10
The Oxfordshire is a great resort for both the golfer and non-golfer.
24 of us attended for two days golf and the facilities, room, food etc were of a high standard. Staff friendly hut not enough of them, whether this due to the pandemic, we are not sure. Some of the bar service was very slow and wait times to be served were longer than they should be. But overall a four/five star resort.
8 / 10
8 / 10
6 / 10
Few food options in the spike bar and set meal on first night was disappointing (particularly the beef). Rooms however were comfortable
6 / 10
Sadly the hotel doesn't offer the same standards as the golf course. A poor bar experience which looks tired and unkept. A clubhouse should be warm and welcoming.
A couple of the bar staff were excellent and worked very hard but the restaurant manager or supervisor in the restaurant provided what i can only reference as the worst service I have ever experienced. The whole dinning experience was ruined because of him and this was clearly the same opinion of the other diners as many complained. A real shame.
4 / 10
Not a good experience.
We stayed at the Oxfordshire about 5 years ago and it was excellent. Sadly this time the stay was less than perfect. OK, we have a pandemic. Very low staff levels, some of the staff were less than helpful, noisy revellers outside their rooms at 2am, food ok but on a golf break the limited dinner menu remained the same on both days, the "restaurant" was a conference room with some tables, not a proper restaurant at all. We paid full price for this break and it was not worth the money.
8 / 10
8 / 10
Went on a golf/spa break. The course was tough but good, could have been due to the very hot weather that weekend.
The weekend was excellent.
8 / 10
The hotel was convenient as it is part of the golf club and meant we didn’t have to travel. Check in was fast and the rooms where comfortable however there was no water in the room for a period on the Saturday morning. The food was average but the restaurant was noisy due to a wedding in the function room. Overall it was very average.
6 / 10
The hotel appears to be short staffed, at the end of the round, no one was serving in the bar, but not surprising as hotel and course were quiet the whole 3 days of our stay. Dinner and breakfast were very average for a hotel of this quality. The dining room was lacking any atmosphere or ambience. The staff though are excellent and try very hard to please, especially Ben on reception. Overall, slightly disappointing.
8 / 10
Reception and management staff are very welcoming and helpful. The rooms were good although few of the rooms have a view of the golf course which is disappointing. The Sports Bar downstairs is disappointing as the range/quality of food is variable and the place lacks any views of the course and therefore any atmosphere. The bar upstairs has panoramic views especially from the large terraces and has a nice ambiance albeit the price of £13.50 for G&T is far too expensive for thirsty golfers!! The evening meals were served in the private dining rooms where the food and the service is excellent - wine is a bit OTT price wise but as the package for 2 nights/3 rounds of golf is cheap they have to make their money somewhere!

The golf was as expected , however the hotel staff, organisation was somewhat lacking, we had two rooms booked, names and cards against rooms all incorrect so all weekend nothing but hassle trying to sign against rooms , refusals to get food or drinks booked against rooms , 1 hour to get food in the spike bar, which was cold when we eventually got, restaurant at night was terrible, only people in the restaurant and the food was cold, one plate inedible , bar closed upstairs for a wedding, only bar available was spike bar, Bar man was lazy and uncooperative , it could be such a good experience, unfortunately not mine , especially when all paid up front.
Not a place to re visit .
Hope the feedback is helpful

Hotel room was very nice. The food in the restaurant was good however the service was very average. We waited at the restaurant door to be seated at least 10 minutes before the waiting stafff showed up.

We booked this venue on the recommendation of Your Golf
Travel some 2 months ago and it was only week a prior to
going that I looked up reviews on Trip Advisor. I was slightly concerned after
reading some of the reviews.
However from the moment we arrived, things could not have gone
better.
The 2 receptionists (Angie and Anne) were an absolute
delight, both were extremely cheerful and so willing to help and advise.
Nothing was too much trouble.
Because some the reviews were about slow play on the golf
course (rounds lasting up to 5 ½ hours) we asked for our original table booking
for the evening to put back an hour due to our concern of having to rush to
shower and change for dinner. Angie said no trouble and sorted it out on the
spot.
Most probably the best reception that we have ever received.
(Well done you 2 ladies)
We arrived at about 12.00 noon and as our rooms were not
available we went to the spike bar to have a drink and a snack before playing
golf at 13.40 pm. Again we received excellent service from friendly staff
members. Some reviews claim the drinks were expensive, and while they are not
cheap, they compare with the average hotel prices.
The golf course overall was in excellent condition
considering the extremely heavy rain that had fallen 2 days previously. Unfortunately
some of the bunkers still had water laying in them but that;s understandable.
The fairways and greens were in absolutely perfect condition
and the course features a good selection of testing holes. A typical American style
layout with plenty of water and lots and lots of bunkers; I would suggest a few
too many.
There was quite a lot of walking from greens to tees which
might add to the time to play, but our 4 ball still managed to complete our
round in 4 hours 30 mins. My wife was wearing a fitsbits which recorded the
distance walked on this round and it recorded 7.32 miles. We did have a few
waits on some the holes due groups in front. On our second round the following
morning we manage a 4 hour 20min. Overall considering it was a new course to us
the time to play seemed very reasonable.
We booked a table in the main restaurant where we had a
restricted menu included in our package, but for an extra £7.50 per person we
could have full ala carte choice. This is something that we took advantage of
and recommend to others.
We were served by a delightful young lady by the name of Macarena
and she was most helpful and very attentive.
The selection on the main menu was extremely varied and we
really enjoyed our choices. I did have a slight hic-cup in that my medium rare
rib eye steak when served was cold, but as soon as I raised the issue the
manager quickly responded by replacing with a freshly cooked medium rare rib eye, and apologised and
additionally deducted our £7.50 surcharges from our bill. Top service.
There was good selection of wine from which we selected both
white and red wine and both were very good.
What with the excellent service from Macarena and the prompt
attention from Florin, plus of course the great food and wine; our dinner perfectly
ended a truly enjoyable day.
Overall our stay at The Oxfordshire really was a most
enjoyable experience and one that we will definitely remember, as well as recommend
to all of our golfing friends.

Thank you for recommending The Oxfordshire as it was
everything we wanted from a golf break and more.
This is a first class venue with a superb golf course, an
excellent hotel and attentive and friendly staff and we will definitely return!
If I was to make any suggestion to the hotel to improve the
package it would be to provide a slightly broader range of dinner options. I
don’t think offering 3 to 4 options would overly complicate things. Saying that;
the food itself was excellent.

Many thanks go to YGT once again for organising a fantastic golf
break at such short notice; it was a birthday treat that was a dream from start
to finish.
The hotel is peaceful, clean and serves excellent food. The members
of staff, particularly in the restaurant, really look after each guest and
there’s a very good choice of food for dinner and breakfast.
The guestrooms are spacious and comfy, and each room has its
own balcony, which as a smoker is superb.
The golf though is something else. There are bunkers and
dunes everywhere, as well as huge lakes, so you really must apply course
management and not be tempted to "go for" too many shots.
The views are stunning while you play too. No matter your
score at the end of the round, the experience of the course is a dream and we’ll
definitely be returning soon.

We had a great weekend staying at The Oxfordshire. The weather
was amazing and the accommodation and service at the hotel could not have been
better.
Everyone loved the course at The Oxfordshire too. It
was in immaculate condition and a real test of golf.
