Perched on the Le Morne peninsula, Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa sits beneath the dramatic silhouette of Le Morne mountain, one of Mauritius's most recognisable landmarks. You're right on a seriously scenic stretch of coast too, with bright white sand, calm water and the island's largest lagoon on your doorstep. If you're weighing up a wonderful Mauritius resort that genuinely works for golfers and non-golfers alike, this is a strong contender.

The big selling point is simple: the golf is on site. You can have breakfast, wander over and be on the tee in minutes, which makes a huge difference on a relaxed holiday. When you're not playing, you've got four restaurants, two bars, a long sweep of beach and a lagoon that's ideal for an easy swim.

You're on the south-west tip of the island, a little over an hour from SSR International airport. If you can, ask for the coastal transfer route, it's a cracking first look at what Mauritius does best.

Who is this for?
Golfers who want a proper championship course on their doorstep, couples seeking a luxury beach escape with quality golf included and anyone looking to combine serious golf with genuine relaxation in one of the Indian Ocean's most scenic settings.

Who is it best for?
Mid-to-low handicappers who'll appreciate the challenge and layout of the course, honeymooners or couples wanting five-star service and stunning beaches and golfers happy to pay a premium for an all-in-one resort where everything, including one of Mauritius's top courses, is right there.

There is the Paradis Training Academy, perfect for taking in some golf lessons and improving your game whilst on holiday, and also the opportunity to play at two other courses in the area at Heritage Golf Club and Tamarina Golf Estate on a reciprocal arrangement.

Accommodation at Paradis Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa

Accommodation comes in rooms, suites and villas, so it works just as well for couples as it does for small groups who want more space. Rooms are modern, light and comfortable, with terraces or balconies designed to make the most of the views. Suites add extra living space and upgraded amenities, while villas dial up the privacy and are a smart option if you want your own base near the beach. Every option is finished to a high standard, with air conditioning, quality linens and bathrooms that feel more spa than hotel.

Dining is a strong part of the experience. There are four restaurants with different styles, plus two bars that keep things lively after your round. Expect plenty of fresh seafood and local flavours, with enough choice to keep everyone happy over a week. The service is slick and quick, which you'll appreciate when you're heading out for a tee time.

If your ideal rest day involves something other than another 18 holes, Spa Beachcomber sits in a handy spot between the course and the beach. It has seven massage rooms plus two saunas and two hammams, so it feels like a proper facility rather than a token spa room. The location means you can walk straight from the 18th green to a treatment if your back's feeling the round.

On the water, the lagoon is calm and generally great for swimming. The resort offers a range of water sports, with some non-motorised activities typically included and others available depending on what you fancy and what's running that day. You can also use facilities at the neighbouring Dinarobin Beachcomber Golf Resort & Spa, which is a nice bonus if you want a change of scene without changing hotels.

The resort layout works well for golfers. The championship course sits within the grounds, so you're never more than a few minutes from the first tee. There are over 3km of expansive sandy beaches facing that enormous lagoon, and the whole setup ticks a lot of boxes for a golf-and-beach week. Paradis Beachcomber suits golfers who want a proper championship course on-site, couples after a luxury beach escape and anyone looking to combine serious golf with five-star relaxation in one of the most scenic corners of the Indian Ocean.

It's a very nice golf course in a beautiful setting. There were a few greens that had some problem areas, but overall the standard of the course was very good.
