Golf Courses at The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay

The Ocean Course

The natural terrain of the California coast proved the perfect canvas for Arthur Hills and Arnold Palmer to create two extraordinary golf courses which combine to offer visiting golfers a thrilling and varied golfing challenge.

Ranked among the top courses in California, the Ocean Course features subtle Scottish, links accents and its narrow, undulating fairways, flanked by swathes of fescue rough create an interesting juxtaposition with the Pebble Beach-like cliffs.

The Old Course

The Old Course sits a little further inland and with fairways lined by Cypress Trees and light rough, this is a much more parkland affair. While the course, which traverses some fantastic elevation changes, is a joy to play from the off, there is little doubt that the closing two holes are the highlight of the course. After a fantastic build up the course offers up a stupendous seaside surprise over the closing couple of holes.

Although one hole doesn’t make a golf course, the par 4 18th on the Old Course is truly special and will be a particular highlight of any California Golf Holiday.
