John Harris and Brian Griffiths conceived the design of the layout, using the natural woodland to demarcate the holes, and fashioning strategic water features that make course management of the utmost importance. Telford now impressively boasts greens laid on a suspended water system, the same technique employed at Augusta National, and the link to Georgia's legendary golf course does not end there; 1991 US Masters winner Ian Woosnam achieved his first professional tournament victory at Telford.
The course is set within 170 acres of charming Shropshire countryside, inside the boundaries of the Ironbridge Gorge, a World Heritage Site, and is a fantastic place to enjoy a round of golf.
Telford's very own driving range is the perfect place to warm up and down, or to iron out those technical glitches in your swing.
The 114 bedrooms are all spacious and comfortable, with many offering fantastic views over the golf course and the estate. Each one is equipped with all the modern amenities expected of a 4* hotel including deluxe bathrooms and flat screen televisions.
The Telford Golf & Spa Hotel's overall package, including the superb golf, leisure and conference facilities, makes it an excellent choice for a golf break in the West Midlands.
The Reflections Spa and Leisure complex is fitted with a superb swimming pool, a sauna, steam room and a well-equipped gym.
Telford's restaurant is one of the most spectacular, with tremendous views over the Ironbridge Gorge. The Gorge Bar is perfect for a few looseners after a tough round.

Brilliant course , the layout was excellent, greens need a little bit of work and every single bunker on course was completely flat and dead some full of weeds so we played them all GUR … spoke to guy on reception and he did tell me they had all new sand to refill them but just waiting for weather to get better but all round great course I would definitely play it again in summer

I think the weather had took its tolls on the course as we’ve had a lot of rain recently, the greens weren’t great but the course was great overall, would come back

We only managed to play 9 holes on the first round which took 3 hours due to slow play in front of us. After the first hole took 30 minutes on round 2 we decided to abandon the course due to extremely slow play again in front of of us. Never seen play this slow in 30 years of playing golf which meant we only got to play 10 holes over 2 rounds.

Course in good condition considering how dry it has been. Bunkers in great condition. The greens were very difficult, due to the large areas & plenty of slopes everywhere.

Hello, I’m the captain of our society , Nottingham Irish golf society, and really enjoyed the weekend. Everyone I think was positive . Greens were patch in places , fast, and diff to read St times which makes it interesting. Lots of leaves on parts of the course, so makes it very difficult to find , but this time of year it happens, also think as it’s possible corporate, they may not tend to it as much as a normal golf course , but good for a society day , and challenging in a few spots . I do recommend Telford , you may get better courses , but the hotel very accommodating either our 40 players and the games I planned for the evening. Michael.

The conditions of the fairways were not up to the usual standard at Telford. The fairways were too long making it hard to spot the balls. The greens were okay apart from they had obviously been suffering with disease.

Having had no rain for several months the course was subjected to a deluge on the day which affected its playability but was still in great condition and a good challenge of all aspects of your game

The course has clearly suffered as have many due to the weather we've had, we played pick and place everywhere and treated bunkers as GUR. The holes are interesting and a good mixture. It just appears to of Bern a bit neglected. Fairways very bare and patchy, Greens also. Overall though we made the most of the course and the challenging weather. Decent practice area, putting green and nets Lots of buggies - perhaps shouldn't be out on the course!

Lovely golf course although the fairway was dry due to the recent heat. Watch out for the cows on the fairway though! Clubhouse is good and pro shop only had mens attire. Be sure to book buggies and trolleys in advance as there is no guarantee they will be available when you go to play.

1st round 4hrs 50mins for a 3ball, course is crying out for some tlc, greens are playable but looked horrendous with patches on every green, tee boxes were just ok but needed a cut, fairways were preferred lie notice in the pro shop which is speaking volumes considering its still summer, only positive thing i can say about the course was the bunkers had sand, if your serious about golf then void at all costs, hotel and food was great.
