We’ve been attending golf society trips three times a year for the last seven years and this was by far the best hotel, facilities (gym and pool), customer focussed friendly staff and golf course of them all. We will be coming back next year

What a fabulous weekend we have just had at The Telford. Excellent customer service by the team, room was very spacious and very comfortable. Great golf course and lively atmosphere. We definitely return soon. Food was fabulous too. Loved it.

Friendly staff that genuinely couldn’t do enough for you, beer was a bit pricey at over £6 a pint but it’s what you expect in hotels these days.

The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The food was great and the staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The spa was a little bit dirty and could do with some regular cleaning of the sauna and steam room. The stay was great and I would recommend the hotel.

Everything went well apart from the room allocation was all mixed up and it was you who sent the wrong list over to the hotel very disappointed.After paying all that money and you made a big mistake not happy at all with your company.

A very warm welcome at reception set the tone for a very enjoyable stay. Thanks to the hotel and golf staff. Minor quibble was that the bars were very busy and service a bit slow due to a large event on the Sunday.

A really nice stay, comfortable bed, though the room was a little cramped and tired. The facilities were very good. The spa was lovely and the treatments were excellent. Food was very nice, both in the restaurant and in the club house bar and the service was quick and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay and the value for money for a weekend in July was very good.

Because I booked very last minute suite was only available room, I u can pay a little more do it Darby house rooms are exceptional. Because on my second day the course was booked out for a charity event. I visited Church Streton gc an unforgettable experience 40 minutes drive away through Much Wenlock and had coffee at Iron bridge nearby on way back. A stay that I will remember for the happy interactions with many of the staff facilities are clean and only slight niggle, in pool teaching ment I couldn’t serious swim and get lengths in as was little crowded merely my timing I suspect..

Rooms were ok, bed was abit lumpy and the pillows were very flat and not comfy. The evening meal was really nice same for the breakfast. Staff were very polite friendly and accommodating. Not sure whose fault it is but the advertisement of “jacuzzi, squash court and table tennis” is far from the truth as they don’t exist and haven’t for about 16 years when had a makeover! (This was the advert on your golf travel website)

We were unable to play golf due to the condition of the course, I booked this break to play golf and only when we tee off we realised the course was unplayable. The management team should of informed us of the condition prior to booking in order for us to make the decision to rebook another break. We have not been refunded or a reasonable explanation why this course was not closed.

Nice hotel for the price. Stayed on a half board basis and was satisfied with the breakfast and options for the evening meals. Spikes bar was fairly small considering the size of the hotel, but still managed to get a seat near the bar.

An enjoyable stay. Rooms well equipped and very comfortable. Leisure facilities were excellent. Evening meals were of a reasonable standard though the pork belly on Sunday was not to everyone’s taste.The steak and ale pie on the Monday evening was very good. Breakfast also perfectly acceptable. Very good value for money overall.

This our third to Telford. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great place to play golf and stay . A few minor issues of which the hotel management sorted in no time. All I all a great weekend was had by all

We recently stayed for a 2 day society break and all I can say is WOW. The course was in great condition, very gettable however the greens were very fast and challenging giving everyone nightmares. The hotel and golf staff were all fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Food and rooms were again fantastic and literally couldn't fault anything. A fantastic 2 day break and will definitely be looking to stay again in the future.

Very nice hotel. Staff were spot on, rooms good, pool really nice. Nicer bar was The Gorge, but that closed early and bar at restaurant not great. Restaurant good, food good. Only bad point was prices. £28 dinner allowance covers a main course only, unless you eat off lounge menu.

Most staff, facilities very good but the golf bar has poor options and less helpfull staff.

Group of 16 golfers . Best food we have had so far on any trip . Sports bar a can get a bit crowded when there are a lot of large groups in . Try an negotiate a discount at the bar if you’re a large group . Rooms spotless , housekeeping excellent . Bring your own shower gel what was provided was a little tight . All round great hotel

This was a trip for three nights dinner bed and breakfast for four golfers in twin rooms the room the food and the golf course were very good, the staff were very accommodating both in the restaurant and the golf pro shop, I would highly recommend this place for a golf stay and play

This was our third visit to Telford Golf Hotel and we were not disappointed. It was much better to be able to dine in the restaurant, rather than a function room during Covid restrictions.

I was the organiser i had to add another member on to trip 10days b4 we went he paid an extra £80 for a single king superior room it wasnt it was exactly the same as mine even had 2single beds pushed together when i complained reception told me your golf travel told them to make it a twin room i was shocked at this as my friend mr ray mcoy paid 80pounds more reception was a shambles getting keys for rooms as the room listings were messed up the evening meal menu was shocking i had to get that changed breakfast was like a fast food outlet with the cheapest possible ingredients used an the prices ove the bar nearly 6pound a pint is ridiculous

Good facilities but very expensive bar.

Nice clean hotel staff very friendly and helpful we only found two down side to our stay bar area way to small as only one bar open where all the guests had use very noisy not enough seating same thing in restaurant bar area only place to have a quiet drink was the lounge area which had no bar.

A clean and well presented hotel. We had a good room on the 4th floor overlooking the 18th green. The staff at the hotel and in the golf shop were very helpful and professional.

Rooms were nice and beds were very comfortable,evening meal was excellent and the buffet breakfast was sufficient, all staff were pleasant and friendly.

A/c in room not working, room in corridor next to swimming pool. Bathroom sink partially blocked. Dinner was capped to £28, no prior knowledge, informed sat at table. Breakfast was best part.

We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was large and well equipped but the natural lighting was so poor you needed the lights on at all times. Window was tiny and view was of a wooden fence 0.5 metre from the window. Would love to visit again but would definitely request a different room.

A one night stay with 2 rounds of golf fri/sat, did not play on the saturday as it was pouring down with rain so we come home after breakfast. food was excellent and helpful service except for a jobsworth working behind the bar, when we got to the bar we asked him what time it would be closing he said 1am we were all going to go into Telford but when he told us this we decided to stay in the hotel. he then called last orders at 11.40pm there was quite a few besides us in the bar we ended up arguing with him and just sat in the bar with what drinks we had. we told him we paid for a service that we were not getting, this put a dampner on the stay

Nice bedroom, good choice of food for the buffet breakfast and the evening meals were good too. All of my party enjoyed the trip.

Rooms were basic but staff and food were good

Generally a good experience with the staff being friendly and helpful. However there was one big downside, the food in the restaurant was close to inedible!! On the first evening, despite being four out of 8 covers in the restaurant (so busy wasn't an excuse) the food was awful across the board. The 'chips' came in for special criticism, being dark brown, soft and chewy! The following evening we all had to go for pizzas as it appeared to be the only safe thing on the menu. Time spent after leaving was to find the nearest place to actually have a decent meal and fill our empty bellies.

Great experience at the hotel easy check in, fabulous food,rooms extremely comfortable and clean. Even though a large group of 32 society golfers were there the service offered by the staff was excellent. The hotel follow the Covid rules with all staff displaying a good knowledge of the rules and there application

In view of the covid crisis our stay was pleasant and comfortable. The room was fine but we could have done with some instructions as to how to use the air conditioning, wifi code. Also the water was not hot in the bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The hotel was smart and well signed for COVID etc. The rooms were ample size , neat and tidy with comfortable beds . The restaurant we ate in was nice enough if a little airy . The food was OK but nothing special.

Nice course and hotel however we were concerned that a large group of about 30 in a golf society were basically let to ignore all new COVID regulations, no masks, standing at the bar and not staying at or sitting at there designated tables, wasn’t the fault of the 2 young barmaids but no senior staff appeared for the 2 hours we had to witness this! Very concerning but the overall quality of course and hotel was very good

Can’t recommend Charlie Rew at YGT nor staff at Telford highly enough. Greens were exceptionally fast which didn’t suit everyone but food, wine, beer, service and golf all super. All 36 of us will return in 2020 for sure.

Enjoyed stay although Hotel short staffed,45 minute wait for a sandwich in the Gorge although the hotel receptionist managed to sort it out and they didn’t charge. Unfortunately three golfing parties in restaurant who were very very noisy despite the waitress trying to calm them We had our desserts in the lounge Our second night in restaurant was very pleasant.perhaps golfing parties should be fed elsewhere The bus party was well behaved by contrast.

Course in good condition considering how dry it has been. Bunkers in great condition. The greens were very difficult, due to the large areas & plenty of slopes everywhere.

Hello, I’m the captain of our society , Nottingham Irish golf society, and really enjoyed the weekend. Everyone I think was positive . Greens were patch in places , fast, and diff to read St times which makes it interesting. Lots of leaves on parts of the course, so makes it very difficult to find , but this time of year it happens, also think as it’s possible corporate, they may not tend to it as much as a normal golf course , but good for a society day , and challenging in a few spots . I do recommend Telford , you may get better courses , but the hotel very accommodating either our 40 players and the games I planned for the evening. Michael.

The conditions of the fairways were not up to the usual standard at Telford. The fairways were too long making it hard to spot the balls. The greens were okay apart from they had obviously been suffering with disease.

Having had no rain for several months the course was subjected to a deluge on the day which affected its playability but was still in great condition and a good challenge of all aspects of your game

The course has clearly suffered as have many due to the weather we've had, we played pick and place everywhere and treated bunkers as GUR. The holes are interesting and a good mixture. It just appears to of Bern a bit neglected. Fairways very bare and patchy, Greens also. Overall though we made the most of the course and the challenging weather. Decent practice area, putting green and nets Lots of buggies - perhaps shouldn't be out on the course!

Lovely golf course although the fairway was dry due to the recent heat. Watch out for the cows on the fairway though! Clubhouse is good and pro shop only had mens attire. Be sure to book buggies and trolleys in advance as there is no guarantee they will be available when you go to play.

1st round 4hrs 50mins for a 3ball, course is crying out for some tlc, greens are playable but looked horrendous with patches on every green, tee boxes were just ok but needed a cut, fairways were preferred lie notice in the pro shop which is speaking volumes considering its still summer, only positive thing i can say about the course was the bunkers had sand, if your serious about golf then void at all costs, hotel and food was great.

We enjoyed playing this course even though it is clearly suffering from the lack of rainfall this summer. The fairways and tees were bare and parched. The greens were good but again suffering from the hotsummer. The bunkers were poor and not prepared well. It seems like there is a lack of investment in the course. Despite this I would like to play there again in a normal summer.

Course is a nice layout but it is in serious need of TLC tee boxes shabby fairways not much grass and the greens are in a really bad way , I wouldn’t have booked a 3 day golfing trip here if this was known

Some tricky holes and some decent length par 5s. Overall the course was well looked after. Always someone out their doing work. Brilliant experience

Because of the extreme weather conditions the greens where scorched although the staff where doing there best to keep them alive. My big problem was being lady golfer there was no toilet on the course and had to walk about 600 meters back to the club if the course had of been busy this would have been a bigger problem , Ed in the pro shop was very helpful and friendly, we really enjoyed our time at Telford even though it was extremely hot.

Our group consisted of a couple of regular players + some aged amateur golfers who only get to play occasionally. We found this course very good but also very hard. But all in all a very good experience.

Could do with better signage to the holes.

Course very very busy on the Sunday - 6hrs for the round which meant a rush to get our dinner, also 3 of the buggy’s failed 1 was left on the 16th hole. Monday course not as busy and round completed I. 4.5 hours much better. Greens good but patchy In places. Lads loved the layout of course. Staff very helpful in bar although would’ve preferred a slightly later Closing of bar. Practice area excellent also.

Having been before we knew what to expect. The course provides a good and fair test of golf for a range of handicaps. Some of the teeing areas were not in great condition, but everything else was good.

Each of the 4 rounds was under 4 hours which is exceptionally quick on hotel courses. The greens were very difficult to read.

Our group scores got lower on each of the three days which reflected gained knowledge over our 3 day event. The greens are multi sloped which made them great fun. The only whinge from our group had to do with nature and not the course as many tees had swarms of midge flies, but this was reflective of the time of year and did not deflect our enjoyment of the course

The course was muddy and soft but it was lovely to play there. The tees needed to be clearly numbered as we found it hard to get round without getting a bit lost! The second day we played all the holes and we had a great time. Very quiet and very relaxing course!

As a 4 ball with a new to golf player we were never kept waiting and only had to let one single player pass through. We took around 4-4.25 hours to play all 18 holes

Compared to our last stay, two years ago, the greens were vastly improved as last time they had just been too dressed and perforated

The Bunkers were in really poor condition with some having grass growing in the sand and nothing raked with a hard caked surface. The fairway grass was too long

Two rounds on two wet days but the weather didn't detract from a great experience. Signature 8th swallowed a few balls from the group but that's golf. Sauna and swim after the golf was perfect before dinner. Loved it.

We all enjoyed the golf

Played two rounds. On the Sunday following a very slow 3 ball that seemed to have little idea that they were holding two or three groups up. 5 1/2 hours and little time for anything before an 8.30pm dinner. The Monday round was much more enjoyable, with no hold ups, finishing in well below 4 hours. Thanks to the golf shop staff and grounds staff.

A good resort course which suits all levels of ability. Some nice holes and birdie opportunities, forgiving enough without being too generous. Greens could be better and the bunkers were not great. Would play again, good value for a weekend break in July.

Played off whites 1st day mistake as yellows would have made for a better sighter round. Few blind holes signage to next tee was overgrown in places which led to slight confusion bunkers were well tended and maintained. My second round on my own off yellow found me finding bunkers but friendly enough to play from. Was pleasantly surprised how many groups showed courtesy and allowed me through. I think as a group the facilities and bar adjacent to 18 would be really good place to see your friends play up to. You see whole of the 18th tee to green. I will be going back

Although the greens were very good, that's about all I can say about this course. Bunkers had weeds growing out of them, cut and dried grass laying on fairways ready for harvesting. Took a group of 20 people on away weekend and should of stayed at home. Overall the course was poor.

The winter had taken its toll on the course and to lose a ball under mown grass left on the course a few feet in from the fairway was frustrating

Considering how much rain we have had in 2024 this course was in great condition. All greens where open and only one hole had been made shorter. The pro shop was well stocked and the staff where very helpful and friendly. Driving range available also. Even the compressed air machine worked!! Great course, we are definitely going back.

Went purely for a golf weekend for my birthday and basically the course should not have been open. we played 8 holes out of a possible 36, SHOCKING! Complaint will be made via customer services. Would not have gone if we knew the course was so bad and basically ruined the weekend.

Unplayable, Poor drainage, Fairways overgrown, boggy and waterlogged, no sand and water in bunkers, Pathways washed away in areas, greens with two types of grass and bumpy. Overall in very poor condition

It was just too wet, shouldn’t have been open. It won’t recover this year. Understand their dilemma keeping it open. I wouldn’t go back there apart from summer season.

The course is in poor condition and clearly suffers from insufficient green staff and a lack of care/maintenance. The tees are very shabby and the greens in poor condition. There were leaves everywhere and no effort has been made to blow them away. Buggies have been allowed when the course is too wet which made some parts unplayable without moving the ball some distance. There is too much traffic on this course and no Marshall’s, resulting in 5 hour rounds. The state of the bunkers extremely poor. Would not visit this course again.

Great resort course. Both rounds were slow due to the amount of golfers on it. The course itself is a great layout for all abilities. It is obvious there is a lot of footfall on it. Greens slow and patchy but pretty true. Fairways good, rough tough to find a ball. Would definitely return. It’s our second visit there and would not hesitate to go back. One of the best value for money golf venues we’ve been to

The course layout itself was good the greens had been scarrified and were very slow and some of the tees could do with some TLC but overall not too bad

The golf was spoilt because all the greens had been hollow tinned and covered in sand just before our game and the fairways were being hollow tinned as we played. There were four machines on four fairways as we played. Not very nice.

Nice course, but fairly difficult to navigate due to the lack of sign posts for each hole. Greens were fast, very undulating and a stern test for the average golfer. Have played better courses but enjoyed the day.

Been to Telford many times dose not disappoint us great place , will be going back next year

A very playable course that would suit all levels of handicaps. Generally in good condition though the tee boxes were a little shabby and a few of the fairways could have done with a trim. Pace of play was very slow on Sunday at almost five and a half hours. Could have done with a course Marshall to help speed things up. No problems however with the pace of play on Monday or Tuesday.

Lovely, well kept Course. Greens were great and challenging. Hole position very clever. Uncleared Grass cuttings in the rough a bit annoying, but would want to play there again. Oh, 9th is never index 1!

Course is very good with a good variety of dog legs, both left and right. Greens were good, fairwys were in some cases very wet on the sides, stay in the middle and it was good.

Time of year, and recent rain has effected course, first day, sun out...really enjoyed it. Still getting it ready, will be top class i imagine. Greans difficult as not cut short, but again summer they will be fast, and lot of borrow from all angles..2nd day, raining so balls plugging, but we enjoyed it.

Interesting course some difficult holes not just up and down.

It was an easy walking course even though it was quite long. Some of the holes were quite challenging, the greens in particular were very difficult to read and extremely fast, overall an interesting course. We were a group of 24 ladies with handicaps ranging from 8 to 50 but everyone thoroughly enjoyed the course.

First two rounds were played quickly . Some very interesting risk and reward holes but you need more than one round or you could be in trouble . Greens had been recently sanded but that didn’t stop them being very fast . Saturday a little slower , perhaps a 15 minute break between large groups in the morning would help keep things moving . The course was in generally good condition with the exception of the tees which were patchy and not level. I often found I was teeing with the ball above my feet. The greens were excellent with tricky pin placements. Overall, another good visit. Thanks YGT and Telford.

Really nice course. We had buggies and quick rounds for 2 days but slow Sundays due to competition.

Paid to play the course in full but were told all bunkers were G U R which our spoilt our rounds of golf as the bunkers are the main thing that would have gave the course its difficulty as they were great looking bunkers in great places Most of the guests staying there to play golf that we talk to agreed with us it let the stay down

A longer course than I usually play at, so was a good challenge. Tee boxes were fine. The fairways were in pretty good condition albeit the grass length was a little long. All of the bunkers are GUR, so maybe some serious work going on there. The greens were challenging but fair.

Greens could have been better all bunkers were gur as work was being done on them but apart from that our group of 22 enjoyed playing as the weather was great

Course was fine if a bit damp in places. The greens were fast and good. A couple more sign post from green to next tee would be helpful especially if you had not played the course before

Telford Golf Course was excellent , a good test and for later in the season the course and greens were in fantastic condition , great staff in the shop and on the course , could not have been better for the 2 rounds played , a must visit , thankyou

A well maintained course, green staff very visible and busy maintaining the course. It's probably more of a summer course but still enjoyable mid October.Greens were great but fast! Bunkers not so good, waterlogged and cloggy.

With most of the fairways tree lined, there is an element of sameness about many of the holes. Bunkers in poor condition. Greens were fine. Some very poor lies in the semi rough. Think the course lies on clay and I wouldn't want to play it after a lot of rain.

Enjoyed the course, in decent condition. Rough around the edges, eg paths and bunkers. Never seen so many stones in bunkers, like very course building sand. Full of water after overnight rain as well. Greens were very fast, with wicked slopes, mainly back to front. A good test of golf for all handicaps. Only major problem our Sunday round took five and a half hours, sometime all of our 3 groups were on the same tee

Quite challenging as the greens were so fast but loved the variety of scenery and terrain and felt the course to be a good length and degree of difficulty for an average golfer. We were 4 golfers of mixed ability and experience and we all really enjoyed the golf.

Overall a great course with super fast greens. Bunkers could do with improvement. Ou first 2 rounds we were ahead of the suggested times on the card. A bit slower on the Sunday as there was a julior championship in front of us but nothing too bad and good to watch the stars of the future.

The course was very nice overall and our 15 members enjoyed our 2 rounds. The grass element of the course was very good, with lovely fairways and greens, and it was nice and picturesque. However, the bunkers were poor, with most having little or no proper sand in them. Nearly everyone of our players complained of rock hard earth under their ball instead of the expected sand.

A beautiful parkland course with very testing holes unsuitable for casual golfer. Unfortunately there were many of those creating delays such that a near 5 hour round resulted in the afternoon and evening as a 2 ball. The course is clearly well looked after and the pro shop staff extremely helpful. Our second round first thing in the morning was played at the correct pace allowing us to complete 9 holes in under 90 minutes. Unfortunately we had to go in for breakfast and thus missed the 2nd 9.

Good course well laid out, greens tricky but in good condition. Bunkers need a bit of tlc.

Personally I had a nightmare as I played poorly but still enjoyed it, all the rest of the party thought it was good so no problems. We will book again.

Our 2nd visit to Telford. Perfect course for our group (handicaps from 6 to 36). Best value for money in the Midlands.

Front 9 a bit boring, bunkers need proper sand not builders sand and stones. Back 9 more challenging

Good golf! Nice course, plenty of trees to make it a challenge, but balls always seemed to be found. Couldn't fault it really.

The course is in excellent condition considering the previous weather of little rain or sunshine, greens in good condition, the bunkers are raked by greenstaff regularly following Covid rules. There are some tricky holes which need to be thought through, the greens are also challenging with slopes...ball above the hole can be difficult for putting...keep it low below the pin. Owing to a 32 strong golf society of 8 fourballs in front the round was a little slow...but hey it's expected when following 4 ball groups and we are a two ball. A good bunch of guys very friendly and always apologising for the slow play....

The course was in good condition and the greens were well prepared but not lightening fast. One particular hole, I think it is the 13th... has a sloping fairway leading down to long rough and water hazard. It is very easy to lose a ball here.

Interesting course, shame about the mud on fairways, but that’s English weather I suppose!

Sunday was so slow that we gave up after 9. Felt that the course was OK but seemed to be neglected, especially on the tees. It would have been helpful to have the different holes clearly marked. Play on the Sunday was much faster with fewer people. Pity about the rain!

With the amount of rain that had fallen conditions were definitely on the soft side. The course played very long with zero run. We didn't really appreciate the speed and trickiness of the greens until the Sunday round when, in bright sunshine, they showed their true colours . My personal tally of 42 putts in my 31 points tells its own tale. One of our group , a 9 handicap, returned 41 and 42 points , which was a magnificent total. I could imagine that in Summer the greens would be frightening. Overall a great weekend .

Overall experience was okay, we didn’t get to play 18 holes on either Saturday or Sunday due to slow play. This is the first time it’s happened to me.

Lovely course however seemed to have overbooked with basically the whole round round waiting for the group in front BUT they were waiting for the group in front of them and so on, just seemed over booked

Greens very good. fairways a mess due to recent very heavy rain and course being on clay. No one else out though so could get a move on

The course was disadvantaged because of the weather. I would love to play it when it's not so muddy underfoot

Lovely course hard to judge greens. We had millionaire golf no one behind and no one in front on both days. Buggies pre.ordered could have been bought to the Pro Shop ready for us and they were rather dirty. Apart from that we had a thoroughly good game.

Played course 3 times and learned more each time. Good challenge for all golfers ( we had hcps from 3-28). Pro shop very helpful. Excellent value for money overall

First day with a late start. 1 o'clock. Great time but at 9 on the Sunday it was very slow. Too slow.

Even if you are a good golfer, the greens might sort you , get on the wrong side of the flag and your in trouble

Just too slow due to many non regular playing golfers on the course. Maybe just too many people playing but that was only Sunday. Saturday was perfect 4 hour round

On Sunday course was packed and the Round VERY slow. We saw several 5 balls going round. M No starter and no martials ...a lot of people unhappy !! Monday was better.

Despite lots of rain and buggies off the course was just playable on day one(perhaps better closed),on day two the course was wet but more enjoyable Greens were good and drained well and course is enjoyable for all handicap levels.A good weekend apart from the appalling noisy golfers. The staff were all helpful and pleasant

We all had a better round on the second day with a bit more knowledge second day.Lost our way couple times with some of the signs not in a good place,but overall would recommend to other golfers
