Everything was very good except breakfast was rather disappointing. We would have liked more variety of fruits and some tomatoes with the cooked breakfast. Speciality choices such as Eggs Benedict would have been preferred.

I want to give George a particular mention who greeted us on arrival and was very helpful, cheerful and welcoming. It set the whole trip off on a positive note. Also the rooms were particularly well appointed.

Very comfortable rooms , lovely shower and shower products , very comfy bed and pillows . Very friendly and helpful staff nothing was too much trouble. Disappointing food , small portions and poor desserts . As the course was reduced to 15 holes we were offered 6 bottles of wine with the meal . Unfortunately the wine was not good and Undrinkable

When we arrived we knew from the setting we were in for a good stay. We were told check in was from 3pm but the hotel had a storage locker for our belongings if we didn’t want to leave them in the car. After our drive we were hungry so we called into the lounge area and had some food which was fantastic great quality, good portion size and a coffee that complemented it. The evening 3 course meal that came part of our stay and play package was even better, again great portions and the burger was incredible, juicy and succulent - nicely washed down with a few beverages. The hotel room was modern, comfortable and fresh and we weren’t disappointed with any aspects of the hotel, the facilities or the staff and well sure to be back again

Accommodation at the tytherington hotel was excellent clean and comfortable staff were very good as the hotel was busy.the restaurant area was a bit disappointing as it wasn’t really suitable for a party of 42 as we had stayed the year before and we had a private room.bar prices were expensive £6.00 a pint and bar closed early which is a shame as it is becoming the normal these days.

Room very good, however evening meal awful & looked like it came straight from a supermarket shelf, breakfast poor as people constantly queuing for hot food that was only brought out after constantly informing staff of the lack of food.

Firstly I would like to say that the rooms were beautiful, only issue is they were a little small to be made into a twin. Breakfast was a disaster coffee machine that was plugged in via extention cable that took for ever to make a coffee, everything was a bit slap dash, it was like they weren't geared up to do breakfasts. The breakfast on the Friday was good, probably due to less people staying there, but the breakfast on Saturday, Sunday wasn't as good simply not geared up to catering for that many people wanting breakfast at the same time. Our evening meals were much better the quality was poor the Fish n Chips was disgusting, the fish was like something from the freezer section in a Supermarket, more alarmingly some weren't cooked enough and were cold. Then was the price of alcohol, I understand you have to make a profit on bar sales but to be charging over £6 for a pint is over the top.

The hotel is a modern building with plenty of free parking. Reception and restaurant staff very friendly and our room was spotless. Comfortable bed, huge fluffy towels and nice quality toiletries. Our only disappointment was the restaurant area. We didn't really like the self service style breakfast (think this only happens at the weekends) - and it was so busy the food was slow to be replenished so long queues formed. Our evening dinner food was fine but again the dining room area which is in the bar was packed and very noisy. Staff were very pleasant though and accommodating.

We stayed two nights during restrictions & all covid measures were in place. The rooms was lovely excellent facilities and excellent air con. Not able at all to use the pool as no available slots - there appeared to be constant swimming lessons on so maybe they get priority over any other booking which was a disappointment especially as I was a non golfer and would have expected to be able to this facility - I also overheard complaints from gym members about not being able to get a booking for the pool. The outside drinks terrace was beautifully positioned for the sun however just need a few tables with umbrellas for shade cause come the afternoon no shaded area was available. Food although very limited menu was lovely, pipping hot and value for money. Would definitely return but only if all facilities were available.

Ian
✓13 May 2025
Desperately slow round on the Sunday - nearly six hours. Fairways were baked hard with lots of bare patches so winter rules were an absolute necessity. The green were even with decent growth but if anything a little long so quite slow.
Clare

Very interesting course with a good challenge , the bunkers are being renovated and even the ones in play were poor quality , lack of sand, not maintained and some with tyre tracks in !

✓31 Mar 2024
From booking in on the golf reception - didn’t catch his name but nevertheless he was knowledgeable about the course, gave us some tips on what holes and also took the time to know us as we were from our of area. The fairway mats took some getting used to as we’ve never played on the before but after a few holes it was second nature, the course was very boggy the first day and the second day started to get drier but even with that the course was challenging, intricate and simply wonderful. Great course in a fantastic setting
Steve
✓5 Oct 2023
First day the Sunday the rain was torrential and made the course difficult as in places it was unplayable, but on Monday the weather was decent, the course was still wet after Sundays rain but it was still in remarkable condition, it would be a stunning course to play in the summer, maybe that's the way forward.

Unfortunately the course was undergoing drainage work & 3 holes severely shortened, also not made aware of two ladies competitions on the Sunday which resulted in agonizingly slow play.

Very nice course, good greens, bunkers could have been better not a lot of sand in them.
Carl
✓13 Jun 2022
I had looked forward to playing this course for a long time after hearing some good reviews online and from colleagues who had played it. Unfortunately for me it wasn't the same experience. I understand the course had been hammered by rain the night before so the bunkers were like concrete and hadn't been raked, they were like this for 2 days, then they were finally done Sunday Morning when members had competition on. This seems a bit unfair when we had paid good money to play. Some bunkers were likened a builders yard with amount stones and gravel in them, one of group refused to play out them with having new clubs. There fairways were "tatty" lots of bare patches and GUR. The greens were good slow but there was nothing wrong with them which is my only good point about the course Unfortunately
Alison
✓30 Mar 2022
We found the course quite challenging - with 100 bunkers and quite a few water features/ditches - it was tough! It's also quite a long course. However its very nicely laid out and well signposted.
Mark
✓29 Mar 2022
Best thing were the Greens which were in excellent condition. Course was good with some challenging long par fours with a welcome sight of the 19th hole awaiting you with a lovely clubhouse..
Raymond
✓23 Mar 2022
Disappointed that you have to play off mats off the fairways when the fairways were not wet, and mats were not available to hire Was not told about it before going there
Josie

Neil
✓21 Oct 2021
The course was very muddy and claggy, but I accept that it was mid October and might have been expected. We had one dry and one rainy day but other courses seem to have coped better re: drainage. We could see the potential of this course being lovely on warmer days in the summer. Nice layout and interesting holes. Quite long par 4s which some might find a further challenge if used to reaching the green in 2. Overall, good and we'd be happy to come back but would pick summer dates.
Steve
✓20 Oct 2021
The course should probably have been closed as it was so wet, even though we've had hardly any rain, it musn't drain well. No buggies were allowed on the sunday due to the wet course which i understand, but on the monday they were and the coouse was if anything in a worse condition.
Ian
✓13 Oct 2021
Was not informed until we arrived that 9 holes of the course would be closed on Monday and had to play first 9 holes twice
John
✓30 Sep 2021
The course was rather scruffy, the bunkers didn't look like they had been raked for quit a while. We had a late tee time 14:40 but didn't get to tee off until 14:50 due to people in front. 2 groups in front of us walked off due to the slowness of a 4 ball who took almost 5 hours to complete their round. We were unable to play the last hole as it was too dark to see.
Mike
✓27 Sep 2021
The course was in very good condition. It is a really good test for all golfers.Lots of bunkers and most par 4's are paticulary long but stay out of the sand and water hazards and it will be a lot more enjoyable!

✓17 Aug 2021
Played 3 rounds, course is very tight but a good challenge, everoyin the group enjoyed it. Only problem was the last round on Sunday was very slow leading to us coming off the course on the 10th hole...there was literally 16 players on the 10th! Another group on the green, us on the fairway and our other 8 lads on the tee box waiting to tee off! Not a great end to the weekend.

We were held up quit a bit by four ball’s although some were kind enough to let us play through.
Marie
✓18 Jul 2021
Loved the three rounds of golf - one of the rounds was held up by a team holding a comp and thus taking up more time to complete the course. Golf was included in my package however on looking online on the normal prices I was shocked at how much your charges are especially on a Friday morning !!! Unfair disadvantage to those playing alone thus a would only visit again on a package I couldn’t justify the add on price otherwise

I marked the course difficulty as average, however, a great test of golf for all standards a thinking golfers layout and test your skills not recommended for beginners, I am lucky in my golfing life to have played most of the top courses in this country and Europe be very happy to play this again and great value.

A course not made for you slicers and you have to plot your way around , unless your a low handicap you don’t get to use driver much , but if your there for 2 games second day is easier
