The Warwickshire has hosted many prestigious professional tournaments, including a European Seniors Tour event, it also hosts the annual YourGolfTravel Longest Golf Day where a select group of hardy Golfers attempt to get through 72 Holes in one day.
The Earls Course provides a stern test of golfing skill, tight driving holes are cut through dense woodland throughout the opening nine while the closing nine has the extra hazard of water to contend with. Good course management with plenty of lay up shots are required when attacking the small greens.

Wide fairways, large undulating greens and plenty of water hazards define this as an American style golf course but don’t be tempted to get too greedy with your driver. Well placed bunkers along the fairways and around the greens are waiting for any slightly wayward shot, well struck iron play is essential around the Kings Course.

The restaurant, food and bars we was really happy with The arrangement for eating after all we had discussed was absolutely shambolic , first evening was told we couldn’t eat in the clubhouse and had to go to hotel yet there was lots of groups eating in the clubhouse, second night went to the restaurant and told we couldn’t eat in there and had to be bussed to the clubhouse, all this during the time the Ryder Cup was being played on the television and was supposed to be the highlight of the weekend away Really spoiled the experience

The hotel is nice, the room was very good and the staff were friendly and efficient enough. The choice of meal for our package was limited, and you had to select your meal when you arrived for your golf round, which was odd. The card machines in the bar area were not working.

The Hotel was good but we should have been told that the evening meal would be served at the Golf Club House and not in the Hotel restaurant. The food was adequate but given the overall cost very basic and poor value for money. I spoke to the events team three times to get the score cards sent to me prior to our arrival. Three times I was told they would be sent but nothing was ever received! At the bar, we were under the impression our group would get a discount on drinks and food, this wasn’t the case and the Club and Hotel didn’t take cash and was card only. This information wasn’t given to us and caused some difficulties by members of our group.

Absolutely fantastic venue with 2 quality courses. All golf staff are very polite and helpful and both courses were in lovely condition considering the lack of rain as of late. The only negative is that the buggies are £45 which I feel is greedy. The whole facility is cashless which is become by the norm but not necessarily the best for everyone!!

I couldn’t give this place a full 5 stars but it’s definitely an amazing venue with probably what I would class as the best golf courses around. The rooms are very good clean and spacious, the only reason I marked it down was that the beds are very hard and after walking 18 holes of golf I personally would prefer a softer mattress. I also marked down the value for money, again this isn’t the golf course or facilities, more the food and bar prices, understand that these venues are always a little bit more expensive due what they are, but personally I thought the food and drink selection and quality wasn’t any better then the average golf course.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The facilities were few and far between and the place was decidedly smaller than I'd expected. I probably had a similar sized hotel to the Belfry which wasn't the case. It was a completely cash free site which hadn't been explained to me during the booking process. The pool area wasn't quite as lavish as the website suggested but nice nonetheless.

✓29 Sep 2023
I certainly would not recommend this hotel for people looking to go away for a golf holiday. The room itself was ok, similar to a Travelodge with a better bathroom. What really let this place down is the bar and restaurant. It lacks a bar essentially, they have put some sofas in a restaurant and have a tv on mute with some music playing not befitting a bar. Really disappointed considering it was a few 30year old men who just wanted a night away from the kids and then in essence we sat in a dated restaurant watching a tv on mute. The food was simply terrible, nothing came as stated and every dish was missing things, no sauce with the tasteless wings and no onion rings on the burgers for example. The burger was inedible and had anyone checked we could have told them but service was lacking as was evident when the desserts came out before our mains had even been cleared. Im sure if people want a night away with an ok location and spa facilities it may be ok if you eat elsewhere but for a golf trip it was poor and its disappointing that your golf travel recommend this place as you clearly have not been here. I felt rather embarrassed having organised this holiday for my group due to the facilities but the golf courses were great and saved face a little.

Room excellent. No complaints about the staff and facilities throughout the hotel. Only complaint would be the restaurant menu (choices fairly basic and unadventurous) and dinner on second night was virtually inedible. Went for masters Sunday. Stay & play. Played Sunday afternoon, spent evening/night in restaurant as was kicked out the bar so staff could set up for breakfast, not very accommodating for small crowd to watch as 2 sofas/arm chairs then table/chairs. Evening meal was very nice, good selection. Included in package Breakfast not so great, great selection but full English precooked then left on a hot plate, good vet would bring bacon back to life. Overall not bad at all, small niggly bits which could easily be improved. Would definitely return.

Room very nice the wifi keeps cutting out and hotel is a 4min drive away from the golf course 1st tee's the staff didn't know the masters was on and when we moved the seats in the so called bar we was told to move at 9.30pm as they had to set it up for breakfast so not good for a golf weekend the courses where very good location not good at all.

As expected for our trip and price ok. The breakfast was hit and miss as we waited for some elements to be cooked with queues forming and other guests not so happy. As it was a golf trip and we did not get to play golf we chose to visit Warwick and only used the hotel for sleeping. The staff were all pleasant at at all times.

If your main focus is golf, then this won't disappoint. There are two genuine golf courses, which are well maintained with fabulous greens. Groups should note that the club house and hotel are a 5 minute drive from each other. Dinner is served in the club house not the hotel?, with a shuttle bus being available. Unfortunately our return shuttle took 45 mins! Dinner included was OK, but only 2 courses and you eat in a conference room, with little atmosphere. Overall good value, great courses, just the transfer and Dinner marked a good value trip.

✓6 Sep 2022
The rooms were first class and very comfortable. The hotel is not really connected to the golf club, although it is on the same estate it is a drive of about 1 mile. It felt like we were staying at a health club rather than golf club. The food was very good but the 2 bars were unimpressive. The restaurant bar felt like a spare room had been used to accommodate guests to eat.

✓27 Aug 2022
The hotel was lovely and rooms very nice. I was disappointed that there was no bathtub - I need it after golf! The spa facilities were also restricted as several features were closed. This was disappointing as our party consisted of golfers and non-golfers who were looking forward to sauna, jacuzzi etc. The meals were quite nice although our package deal only offered a 2 course dinner- the first time in 15 annual trips of this sort. We were not informed of this until we sat down to dine. Also we were asked to dine at the golf clubhouse - over a mile distant- and transported by a not to frequent minibus. It took 3 trips to take our 17 guests. Not very good.We were seated in a function room which was featureless and lacked Amy ambience. Staff were all polite amd attentive. Breakfast was good.

There was a small issue in communication between the golf club and hotel. They have a system for pre booking the evening meal, but the form was not delivered. ✓30 Jun 2022
Went to this venue last year, but was disappointed this time, and would not go back. The evening meal on Sunday (26th) was very poor, so much so that we were offered a free dessert. The restaurant is more like a cafe with no atmosphere, although to be fair, the staff try hard. The shower had not been cleaned efficiently with small bugs and ants present.
Mark
✓30 Jun 2022
The accommodation and staff are very good. The rooms were very clean and the staff pleasant and responsive to requests. However, while not expecting haute cuisine for the meals, some were poor - examples including heavy overspicing on a fish dish, or extremely tough burgers. For a 7:30 booking we also had to wait to 9pm to be served; not a major problem, but the chef went off at 10pm and sweets couldn't be ordered. The staff did give us some complementary ice creams as a gesture, which was nice. Breakfasts are reasonable, but again there appears a challenge in the kitchen keeping up with demand, but this affected only a few people in our group. The main comment would be to get the tea and coffee arrangements sorted, which affected everyone. There were two machines that didn't appear to be plumbed in and caused long queues. Addressing a few of these points would considerably enhance the experience.

Room beautiful! Clean and well presented. Hotel very clean and bright, views and course look stunning! However, on Monday morning of checkout, not even be allowed a coffee to takeaway and a pastry from the breakfast we had paid for! In the booklets in the rooms, it clearly states that Mon-Fri breakfast is from 06:30. We were at reception at that time and I asked because we were leaving so early if I could grab a quick pastry and a takeaway cup for a coffee. To be snapped at by the lady with the curly, blonde hair that the bar doesn’t open till 7am so no, you can’t. I was so embarrassed I just said don’t worry about it and rushed out of the door. We had been treated so lovely all weekend by your other team, including the beverage manager Ahmed, who is a shining example of how all staff should treat guests! I’ve never felt like more of a ‘bother’ to someone more than how that lady spoke to me!

The hotel does a good job of making golfing groups feel unwelcome! The golf club is a mile up the road from the hotel and unless you specifically ask for a shuttle bus, no transport is provided. They expect golfers to ‘drink drive’ between the 2 for evening meal and breakfast every day! The golfers breakfast was a ‘fry-up’ on the first day. Nothing else provided so staff had to hunt down cereal etc. On the second day it was ‘fry-up’ with cereal boxes and mouldy stale bread rolls! Toast had to be individually made elsewhere by staff then brought through. Granola, fruit etc had to be retrieved from the hotel by serving girls (who had plenty of other jobs to do so didn’t need the extra hassle or constant complaints). The evening meal is ok at best. Not really restaurant quality or options, which have to be pre-booked and end up with people changing their mind when served, and taking others selections! The rooms are very basic and we had dirty tan stained sheets used to make one bed. When reception asked to change them… “Oh we don’t enter the rooms after you’ve booked in!” Yet you made the beds with them and have done away with ALL Covid19 restrictions throughout the resort! Just change dirty sheets when asked, don’t give excuses. On a positive note, the golf courses are good design and condition (except ALL the greens where no-one repairs any pitch marks). They play quite long though which our higher handicaps didn’t enjoy. The swimming pool and gym are very nice, no booking system and lots of local members attending so can get quite busy! The grounds are lovely with plenty of trails and hills for runners! The staff are very friendly and helpful, trying to make the best of a bad job on numerous occasions. Big thanks to Sam in the golf club for his efforts… In summary - if you’re a small group I’d recommend this venue. If a larger group, don’t bother as courses not good enough to outweigh the problems and unwelcome feeling of the hotel stay!

Classed as 5star but more like 3 or 4 star. Food choice and quality was very poor. Only 2 courses provided. Had to pay extra for dessert. Our group walked into the local village and had food at the local pub on the last evening. Most staff were very friendly. However, one staff member expressed his displeasure that our group was 2 minutes late for dinner on our second night. A different group were an hour late but received a much warmer welcome. Breakfast Quality was also very poor. Alcohol was very expensive. Hotel did not take cash at all. We were unaware of this until we arrived which made things extremely inconvenient.

Rooms were comfortable and more than adequate for our needs. I changed the times of our dinner (20 golfers) prior to our arrival and that message did not get passed on, made worse by slow rounds of golf, so everything was rushed. From the outside the hotel could easily be mistaken for an open prison but inside although a bit clinical and soulless is actually ok. It is set in some nice grounds which the ground staff take pride in. The covid restrictions are a bit of a pain but I can't really moan about that. Like a previous review the ordering of an evening meal at 10.30am is really weird, it's not as though they have to go out to the shops to buy it during the day and I like to choose what I eat when I'm sat at the table. Most of the staff were very attentive and friendly so no complaints there. I don't think the Warwickshire is one of those I'd rush back to but definitely worth a one night two round stay.

Lacked fridges to keep drinks cool but that may have been due to Covid regulations. A/C in the rooms very welcome as were there on the 3 hottest dayss in July.

Disappointing, felt like 2nd class citizens, not allowed this and that due to staff saying 'you are pay and play'. ? No instruction as to go to golf course first, we stayed the night before golf, so no one told us the welcome pack would be at the golf club. Staff at hotel in need of training, when a customer conplains, you would think a manager would get involved. £110 a night each to over look a car park? Only 2 choices dor breakfast and can5ha e Earl grey tea, that is extra. Kitchen closed at 9.45pm, so not puddings for you at £5 each. Beer £5 a pint, gin and tonic £8

This golf resort is excellent! It really gives the more famous resorts some competition!! The hotel is new and completed to a high standard. The rooms were brilliant and spotlessly clean. The bar and resturant were small and i suppose a little basic or corporate but for a group of men playing golf, they were fine. Not sure i would take my wife for a romantic meal there but for breakfast, it was great! The breakfast was of a high standard and we swapped dinner for a packed lunch which was really good. We went out to the local towns for dinner. Short taxi ride to Warwick or Leamington Spar where we found some great restaurants and bars. There was a gym and spa too. They looked popular but we didn’t use these facilities. The best thing about this resort though was the staff. The girls on reception always took the time to smile and say hello. So friendly and professional. The bar and resturant staff were the same. Always on hand and provided a friendly and efficient service. The night porter was great too. The staff in the pro shop were excellent. Everything was well organised and we felt really looked after. The bar in the clubhouse was being refurbished so i can’t comment on that but the changing rooms were good. The driving range, chipping green and putting green were all good and in convenient places. Buggies available if needed. Both the Earls and Kings courses were excellent! This is a little gem of a resort. Well worth a visit!

Location of this golf course is fantastic and offers two truly great golf courses. The hotel itself was very nice with a decent menu but nothing spectacular. The biggest disappointment however was the state of both golf courses, particularly the kings. 2 great golf courses that unfortunately do not drain well it would seem. Me and my partner must of lost half a dozen balls in the fairways due to plugging. I would advise anyone who wanted to do this break insures it is the dryer seasons. Would definitely go back but only in the summer.

he Kings and Earl golf courses were fantastic, both very different, but also extremely challenging. There was everything a golfing group could hope for, trees, water, lots of bunkers, beautiful greens and great views. The layout of both courses was spot on, with a great mix of holes, including a 600+ yard par 5. The clubhouse and practice facilities were first class, and the organisation of our visit was really good. The only slight negative was the process for getting all our group to fill in the check in / meal form. This is a great idea, and made the hotel check in very smooth and quick, However, it would have been better if I was given a form to email round the group weeks before, rather than having to rush round the group before the first tee time. However, this is a very small issue in an otherwise wonderful experience. The hotel was fantastic, with very high quality en-suite rooms. The quality of the meal was very good, and breakfast was spot on. The spa facilities were also a big hit with the group

The course was fine, and not in bad condition despite recent hot weather. The course is difficult to navigate and they should have more signs telling you where the next tee box is. There is also general confusion finding the halfway house if it's your first time there - more signs please.
Jon
✓13 Jul 2025
Again, green to the next tee was poorly marked and in some cases a lengthy walk. Given the overall cost (Nearly £10,000.00 for 36 Players as we had a last minute drop out) the general consensus was not good value for money.

✓27 May 2025
The better of the 2 courses as it takes you out and around some amazing forestry. Tough entrances to most greens as they are well protected so maybe a little too hard for the higher handicaps. Again a very long walk, buggies at £45 are greedy and there were more parked at the clubhouse than on the course for obvious reasons. £25 a buggy and they’d all be out on the course. Overall though a superb golfing location.

Incredibly course through forest areas, slight more strategic style of play as you have to choose 250+ drive through trees and over bunkers or more conservative iron play to avoid any danger to the scorecard.

A top class course with a bit of everything, water, distance, some wide open holes, some narrow. A couple of very picturesque par threes. No two holes the same or even remotely similar, a bit of everything to test the golfer in a fair and honest way. Lots of "Risk and reward" choices. One of the best UK courses I have ever played in 40 years of golfing. Greens were "Seeding" but that can't be helped.

Another championship course a little shorter overall but slightly narrower fairways, woods, lakes and ponds plus plenty of well placed bunkers make this course probably the more challenging. As per my review on the Earles course, after the poor weather we’ve had here in the uk the green staff had done amazing. The kings course was on point, even playing in the rain you would of thought we had just had some of the best weather ever, fairway amazing green amazing, out of the two courses the king was definitely in the better condition. This course was definitely setup for the golf player, having to think more and play the course instead of the big hitter who just go for it. Again would love to revisit again in the drier months. Hats off to the green staff 🏌️♂️
John
✓28 Apr 2024
After all the poor weather we’ve experienced here in the uk the green staff had done an amazing job to keep the course open the fairways and green were amazing, during our visit the course was on winter rules with no buggies and lift clean and place. the average golfer like myself who don’t hit the fairway every time there were some very soft spots between the tee and fairway and along the semi ruff areas if you missed the fairway resulting in balls just plugging, plus a lot of grass cutting resulting in balls being berried. With that being said definitely a worth the money and would love to play again in the drier months. The course if very picturesque with some fantastic looking holes.

✓8 Apr 2024
As the weather had been so wet in the time begore we arrived at The Warwickshire we were told thay the Earls Course would not be open. Instead we had 2 rounds on the Kings Course. In all honesty this course should have been closed as well however we did appreciate the favt that they did every thing trey could to allow us to play. Having said that play eas very slow because most times a player missed the fairway the rough was so thick and so wet the balls were plugging and difficult to find. The greens were very poor as they gad been hollow tined and sanded but again the weather had washed a lot of the sand in leavingnthe greens very slow and bumpy. These are the reasons why i have given the course such low ratings. I am sure at a different time and with beyter weather we would have had a much better experience. In fact it would be nice to try the courses later in the summer is there any chance my group could be offered a discounted society day?
John
✓25 Mar 2024
Played terribly in both rounds but that was my problem, not the courses! Some stunning golf holes with plenty to think about. The greens were outstanding and given the amount of rain recently the course held up pretty well. Buggies/trollies on paths was a pain but understand why given the ground conditions. Would love to play it again the height of summer.

Beautiful course with some lovely holes and excellent greens. But long and a tough challenge for high handicappers or those who aren't long off the tee. Also a number of holes with quite a distance between green and next tee (9th to 10th is a killer). Would definitely recommend a buggy, especially if playing 2 or 3 times consecutively over a weekend.

✓19 Apr 2023
Not quite so wet as the Earls but still a bit boggy in places. Another slow round at 5 1/2 hours. We did see 1 Marshall on the Monday but didn’t really seem to be doing anything to improve pace of play. As with Earls greens were a bit slow and bumpy, but overall really enjoyed the layout. Rubber tees at the driving range were non existent on Sunday and Monday but plentiful on Tuesday.
Tony
✓19 Apr 2023
Nice layout, very wet in places which made the course play a lot longer and probably contributed to pace of play. 5 1/2 hours for the Sunday round and managed to get round in 4 on the Tuesday when it was less busy. Greens were a little slow and bumpy bit overall thought it was a good course in decent condition for the time of year. Not really one to get uptight about pace of play but 5 1/2 hours is too long. Guess if you don’t mind slow rounds weekend is ok, but would avoid if you want to play at a reasonable pace
David
✓19 Apr 2023
This, in the opinion of all of our 4 ball, was the superior of the 2 courses and we thoroughly enjoyed it. A great layout with some really long holes. The front 9 was missing some signage on the tees and at one point we wondered if we had gone wrong as there were no hole numbers. I suspect this may be short term as they were all in place on the back 9. once again the course was extremely boggy in places but through no fault of the green staff. We would love to return and play again in dry conditions. This course was right up there and my 13 year old grandson making par on the 600 plus yard par 5 made my day
David
✓19 Apr 2023
It was a real shame that our 1st experience of this complex followed the wettest march on record as the course was saturated in many areas. Fortunately the tees, fairways and greens were reasonably dry and we still managed to enjoy the course. The greens had been hollow tined and were a bit bumpy but playable. The real issue was the pace of play as we were out there for approaching 6 hours and by the end of the round had had enough. It's a really good layout and certainly worth playing, especially when it's dry

Slow and very hard round, through not fault of the course but the weather and my ability on the day Strongly advise a buggy Could do with more signage as if like our party and first time playing, some holes your playing blind. Greens recently spiked/sanded but still very quick. Just extremely bobbly but can't moan at that as needs to be done. Will definitely return to try conquer it.

Need to be a little straighter if the tee compared to the Kings but still forgiving on majority of the holes. Some long challenging holes. Greens were good but again not as challenging as the Kings. Overall a great venue with two very good championship courses. Would return for sure.

Beautiful course with plenty of water! We had 2 rounds on this course, the second taking best part of 5 hours. Our booking was for 1st day on the Kings course and the 2nd 2 on The Earls course. The Warwickshire had us down for day1 & 3 on the Kings and day 2 on the Earls. We didn't mind as we preferred the Kings course. Although sorted in the end, our pre booked buggies were not available on day 3 & we were questioned whether we had paid up front. Pro shop were very good though and sorted it all out.

Apart from the pro shop forgetting about our nearest the pin and longest drive markers 3 days running all was good. The cost of buggies was very expensive, much more than for members.

✓16 Aug 2022
The only dampener on our weekend was the length of time this round took, it would have been good if the pro shop had told us that we were behind 8 walking four balls (several larger groups) as we had booked buggies. That said, the course was superb. Tough holes (we played a two man scramble format which allowed us to attack it a bit more) but a fantastic test of golf. Tough par 3s, long but fair par 4s & 5s. Will be back!

✓16 Aug 2022
Great course. Round took 4.5 hours but some of this was us not quite hitting the correct lines etc having not played the course, going back again we would definitely be better. Course obviously very firm after a dry summer but the greens were like carpets….. very undulating carpets! Cracking experience.

The Tees need some work and the greens were slow but I’ll never forget the 11th on The Earls as it was my first hole in one. This is a course the low and mud handicapper and apart from the above great quality.

✓12 Apr 2022
Very disappointed after waiting 2 years to go on this trip due to covid for my 25th birthday. Turned up no information about that state of the greens which were unplayable due to maintenance just being done. This caused part of the golf party to not want to play the remaining days. Sundays round was a joke we only managed to play 9 holes due to the course being over crowded and very slow.
Kevin
✓15 Mar 2022
Course harder than the King's course. It's longer and narrower, limded with trees. Greens on front 9 weren't in the next shape, but back 9 were much better. Course was trolley with winter wheels as the course was very wet after substantial rain. Definitely look to play Spring or Summer if you can.
Kevin
✓15 Mar 2022
Weather wasn't on our side, the course was very wet. Green keeping team had clearly tried to keep the course in the best condition possible. 5 hour round on this course is normal, if you do come play here, Even with no waiting. Buggies on path allowed, which helped. Very enjoyable open wide course.
Mark

✓10 Nov 2021
They have two 18 hole courses and a nine hole course: being Winter got the impression that there was not enough green staff to keep all three in good trim. Also being quite hilly and very wet with long short rough it was very difficult to spot or find your ball if you were slightly off centre. Probably much better in the Summer

Ridiculously slow round taking over 3 hrs for 9 holes on 2 days. Definitely needs Marshall’s out on the course. Lots of dangerous blind holes with no bells or views on them. Took us 3 days to play all 18 holes. Needs more bunker rakes and ball washers. No disabled parking, but full marks for reduce buggy fees for disabled.

✓29 Sep 2021
We really enjoyed the King's Course. The course layout is excellent with some really lovely holes. Greens were generally in good condition and ran pretty true. The quality of some of the tee boxes was pretty questionable, with some of them being quite poor...and there was a lot of sand on the course suggesting it gets pretty wet.
Paul

✓16 Sep 2021
My favourite of the two courses. Again a very slow round despite not being a weekend. A society in front needed to be hurried up, I called the pro shop twice before they came out on the 15th, and credit to the society they then picked up the pace, if only the course was marshalled better. Autumn dressing sand everywhere left the course condition far from good, and loads of worm casts on the greens ... I played here about 5 years ago and thought it was stunning...it will be sometime before I return.
Keith
✓16 Sep 2021
Desperately slow round (6 hours)...course fully loaded, very frustrating to wait on every tee and every shot. Made worse by the fact the my request to move dinner had not been actioned. It's a very long time since I have played such a slow round of golf. The course needs to be marshalled better or have fewer people on it.

A lovely course with beautiful holes, shorter than the Earls but still some long holes. The 2 par 3’s over water (one with 160yd carry) are a great test of nerves, but this course literally has everything and is more forgiving than the Earls.
David
✓14 Sep 2021
The first round was definitely a challenge with some long holes, but this is one of the best courses that I have played. Tighter than the Kings but there was still room on some holes for a wandering shot. The greens had some worm mounds, but we’re true and fast. The second round was a lot slower (5 1/4 hours) as it was a Sunday we had to wait on every tee. This did not spoil the round though on this beautiful course which has a bit of everything, including water, trees, long and short holes, elevated and downhill greens.

✓25 Jul 2021
Unless you are a very keen walker a buggy is a great option. There are some holes with a significant distance from green to tee. GPS watches were recording 8 miles plus. Holes over water a great test to get the ball up in the air and distance. Bunkers were not great. Sand seemed to be builder's with stones just under the surface or compacted. When raking a significant number of stones appeared and would not have wanted to play a shot from that point. Again needed to be on the fairway as rough could be quite challenging.
Brian
✓25 Jul 2021
Found we had to be reasonably straight on the course. If you went off the fairway too far the rough penalized you but that's golf. The par 5's were long but as there was plenty of run you could reach them in 3. Bunkers sand was poor, stones came to the surface when raking and would not have relished playing a second shot from that position. Sand seemed to be builder's with stones just under the surface. Glad we opted for buggies due to the hot weather. Good test of golf.
Julian

The Kings course is newer than the Earls. It is the second course but it’s not far behind. More open and therefore slightly easier but still a challenging course. This is a beautiful course with some stunning views. Plenty of water but less of the punishing rough to navigate. The par 5 16th was an amazing hole!! Like the Earls, every hole was different. It was in great condition and a really enjoyable test. Again the greens were slow but they were in great condition running true and smooth. This is a long and enjoyable course. I’m looking forward to playing it again.
Neal
✓2 Jul 2021
Lovely woodland course! Very well established with some beautiful holes running through the forest. I found it a tough challenge as it’s very long with some narrow fairways. The semi rough grabs your ball and punishes you as it should. The long rough is deadly! Not many balls are found if you drift in there, so accurate tee shots are the order of the day! The fairways were in great condition as were the bunkers. Plenty of water to keep you concentrating too. Every hole was different and each of them was beautiful and challenging! The only negative for me was the greens. They were in great condition and ran really smoothly but they were slow. The pro explained that they keep them slower to protect them. I get that but i would have preferred them to be quicker. Overall an excellent course and one that i look forward to playing again.

Garry
✓9 Oct 2019
We played the Kings course following heavy rain - this course drains much better than the Earls course which should be avoided after heavy rain and in wet winters. I would recommend a buggie if you intend playing both courses as the walk is long and the rounds can be on the slow side. The design, layout and quality of the course were all of a very good standard and provide a the proficient amateur golfer a really good test of the game.
Garry
✓9 Oct 2019
This is a very long course. The course was particularly busy on the Sunday we played and the round took an unacceptable 5.5 hours! No sign of any marshals helping speed of play - I assume because there are no buggies allowed on the course! We had had a lot of rain recently and the course does not drain very well at all and therefore should be avoided in wet winter conditions. On a summers dry day with normal pace of play this course is a very good and enjoyable challenge for the more proficient amateur golfer.

Greg
✓25 Jun 2019
Great course which truly tested our range of handicaps (12 - 22), it was in excellent condition with quick greens. Good mix of holes with some difficult and challenging ones that proved quite testing. Water comes in to play on a few holes, the course is wide in places which allows you to recover from wayward shots if needed.
Jean
✓2 Jun 2019
Had a lovely round of golf, plenty of water hence the "hard" quote. Greens weren't great, they needed cutting. Again there wasn't a halfway house/toilet facilities so therefore only 2 stars.
Jean
✓2 Jun 2019
We played in the rain, but enjoyed the course itself. The greens were really good. The course lacked adequate signage and for a golfing venue the size of this, we might have expected a toilet/halfway house on the course.
Duncan
✓28 May 2019
Having checked in 2 hours before and being told that we would have no anticipated hold up's we did not T off until 15 minutes after our start time and we then proceeded to wait on every shot for the next 5 and a half hours. The Marshall apologised and explained it was due to a seniors match in the Groups ahead and agreed with us we should have been told and given the opportunity to switch to the Earls which was very quiet. On a positive note the 2 groups in front of us eventually got fed up and went in so we could have taken 6 hours ! A shame as the whole set up is good but I am not sure I would go back based on this experience.
Duncan
✓28 May 2019
Good pace behind some good golfers and whilst there was a little bit of waiting time we could see the line to hit from the group in front. disappointingly our tee time was booked behind the weekly monday morning seniors competition. Not wanting to take 6hrs we played the Kings back 9 and then the Earls front 9 which still took ages. Disapointing experience as we looked forward to playing this course. Better comunication needed between YGT and the club. Course is a stern challenge at over 7000 yrds from whites with a 630yrd par 5 4th. Greens were again disapointing due to treatment.
