Really good villas and resort shuttle to get around although most things are walkable

Really pleased with the trip. We all loved it

We had a brilliant experience staying at the Vale do Lobo resort apartments. On arrival around 1pm we were told our room would be ready by 5pm, but to our delight we received a text at 3:30pm letting us know we could check in early. The apartment was spotless and very well presented, with thoughtful touches such as tea, coffee, bread, and jam provided on arrival. The facilities were excellent — strong WiFi, a safe for valuables, and even an alarm for added peace of mind. The shuttle service around the resort was outstanding: extremely quick, reliable, and very convenient. A special mention to the reception staff, who were friendly, professional, and couldn’t do enough to help us. Overall, a fantastic stay and we will definitely return.

I booked a standard 2 bedroom apartment with twin beds in each bedroom. We ended up being given a 2 bed apartment with a twin and double room ! on the first night one of the party had to sleep on a sofa and then they put a camp bed in with the double which was not great and very uncomfortable !! overall the complex is nice just a shame that the basics affected the overall enjoyment

We stayed in apartment which was fine, the only small negative is we had to utilise shuttle bus and at times was busy once we adjusted to this and used a combination of shuttle and Uber it was fine

Lovely resort with lots of amenities you don’t really need to go off site, but if you do it’s a €15-20 taxi ride to Vilamoura. The apartment was large for a 1 bedroom with everything you needed for a 5 night stay. We used the free shuttle bus every day to get from the apartment to the courses which was excellent. All the staff were super efficient and friendly.

Extremely frustrated that having booked this break with Yourgolftravel, that when we arrived in Faro around 09:20 for a tee time for 8 players at 13:10, we could not access our apartments until 17:00 (after our round of golf). Thus we had to change and store our clubs in the clubhouse changing facility.

Very good resort. Added bonus was the resort shuttle which was very useful getting around the resort including the restaurants at the beach. Bradley Allmark gave us lots of information when booking this trip and nothing was a problem.

Fantastic development with two outstanding golf courses. Everything was seamless - from the service at the golf club and bar, to the shuttle bus and reception staff.

A 4 day stay in a wet March so didn't get to use some of the facilities but they looked good. Golf was 5* with really friendly course staff. Good buggies and facilities. Room not available until 17:00 on arrival at 11:00 was a little disappointing. Only used The Spikes club house bar and restaurant which was excellent. You pay top price for this 5* resort so it is not a tight budget option.

The whole experience from start to diminish was excellent and the staff were all friendly and very helpful.

Apartment is in need of maintenance/decor. Staff at the resort were of a mix some really helpful others not so. I would rate it only a 3star overall.

On arrival one miserable, extremely unhelpful receptionist. Our villa had been cancelled by mistake by tour operator and this person was extremely unhelpful in wanting to help resolve situation. - rest of reception staff very helpful and friendly as well as shuttle staff. Spike Bar - amazing food and service from all its staff.

This is a great place to stay, within walking distance of a lot of good restaurants and has fantastic golf. The kitchens are ill equipped but other than that a great experience

Accommodation was excellent. It was spacious and good condition. The shuttle bus service that runs 24/7 was quick and reliable.

Hotel complex was spectacular and a perfect match for a long weekend for our group. Hotel staff were attentive, friendly and always went the extra mile looking after our group throughout our stay. Only negative feedback would be the late check in of 1700 on the day of arrival which resulted in the group having issues settling in, playing golf and checking in very late that evening.

For a cheeky getaway, with 3 rounds of golf included, we were very happy with the accommodation provided and package as a whole for the price. One small issue was we were a couple and the bed was 2 single beds pushed together (kept falling in the crack!). The facilities were great otherwise. Full kitchen, with inside and outside table. Good wifi. The restaurants and bars do the job and if you are with a lads or girls group and are likely all you need. For a romantic meal, we headed inland slightly to Restaurant Florien, which was a great setting for a romantic meal and the food was spectacular (rather than just good/very good). Overall, a great time. Staff friendly and happy to help! Good supermarket on the site also if you want to cook a few meals instead of eating out (or stock up on birdie juice for the back 9).

This is the 4th time we have traveled with YGTravel and once again everything was excellent. The courses were superb but could you slow the greens down please!😀. We will definitely travel with you again

A great resort that has everything within walking distance or or short resort provided shuttle ride away. Biggest criticism is that the golf provision does not include a full size driving range. There is a range provided near the first tees, but you are limited to using a 9 iron at most due to its short length.

excellent venue and very nice personnel - the amenities are outstanding (e.g. free shuttle bus in the whole campus) and you don't miss anything.

Everything was absolutely fine - the only negative was that our apartment was a little 'tired', could do with refurbishing to match the standard of the rest of the resort, but we would still go back tomorrow!

Fantastic complex overall, only blips apartment quite isolated & required us to constantly have to book a 10 mins shuttle ride to get to any of the amenities ie: courses, Praca, & supermarkets etc. Though in fairness the shuttles were very prompt & the drivers extremely courteous. Only other gripe was the pool & gym advertised to us were both closed Would also like to thank your golf travel & Jay Conroy in particular this was my first venture into a golfing break & have to say Jay guided us through the whole process with absolute professionalism & courtesy

Everything was fine as in the previous visits to vale do lobo the accommodation was excellent staff on and off the course were very friendly and helpful we will definitely be returning

The apartment was very comfortable there were 2 bedrooms with 2 twin beds in each room. Very hard to find fault with the comfort levels and the actual location of the apartment.

Upgraded to small Villa with own plunge pool, accommodation was way above what we expected. Drinks obviously expensive. Supermarket on site. Free mini bus takes you around the complex. Everything is extremely well organised. TM M4 & M6 hire clubs. Couldn't fault it.

From the minute we walked through the door, the staff couldn't do enough for us. We arrived early so that we could play a round of golf, but couldn't check in to apartment until 3pm. Put our bags away safely for us and did the paperwork. After golf, collected our key and drove to apartment. Facilities at apartment were 1st Class, better than most hotels we have stayed at. Everything we needed was provided, including a welcome pack of bread, milk, tea, and coffee. Apartment very spacious with big TV and also wifi. Apartment was 15 minute walk from centre, but there was a free taxi service if we wanted it, just pick up phone and it was immediately there. Only used Spikes bar, food was pretty reasonable and varied menu, priced about what we expected. Again, everyone bent over backwards to be helpful. Checkout was very very quick and easy.

What a fantastic location, surroundings and place. From start to finish everything was perfect and as a frequent traveller that is rare. The apartment was spotless and a free private shuttle is arranged from the course to your apartment with no hassle. The club house is lovely, food and drinks amazing though slightly pricey but this can be expected due to the location. Service is quick and always with a smile. The club has showers and free towels so you can freshen up between rounds and everything is spotless. My 3 stars on the facilities is only down to them having a driving range that you cannot hit more than a 9 iron (160m long) and it only has 6 bays. There is one bar/restaurant at the club house which is lovely however is quite expensive. We had 3 bacon toasties and 1 posh greek yogurt with 4 drinks and it was 70 euro. however don't let this put you off.In the evening there is a free mini bus service from your apartment. Simply dial 9 and within 5 minutes you are collected and drop anywhere in the resort. The local square has around 6 restaurants to cater for all tastes. An average meal was around 60 euro per person based on 4. There was no nightlife in Vale Do Lobo in March however I have been in August and it's a complete contrast. If you want something more you can head to Vilamoura in a Uber for 12 euro. All in all it was a fantastic trip and look forward to going back. On a final note we had unlimited golf which was well worth it. We played 18 holes in the morning, finishing around 2.00pm, then had some lunch and a few beers and then played a different course around 5pm and managed to get 9 holes in. Getting back out was no problem and free buggies were always available.

Very clean and tidy everything you need for a golf stay in the apartment sky sports was a plus as well as free wifi. Choice of restaurants was small on site but that was due to all of them on the Praca weren't open yet, food was lovely in spikes bar and staff was brilliant couldnt do enough to help us. Definitely go back.

Out apartment was very nice. It was clean and had a basic welcome pack with milk, bread, tea & coffee. All the kitchen equipment was in good working order. The staff at the resort reception were efficient & friendly. The restaurant was lovely & the staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfast was very good & set us up for a good morning of golf. We did not hire a car so we used the resort bus to get back & fore from our apartment. All the drivers were helpful and friendly at all times. The resort is very large so the bus was vital in getting to the reception were the golf office is situated.

Better than expected.

My group of 12 have just returned from a weeks trip to Vale do Lobo. I have been organizing these trips for over 20 years and I would say that the YGT offer for Vale do Lobo is the best deal ever! In fact I rang Nick Hall direct to make sure it wasn’t a mistake. The deal consisted 7 nights accommodation in a link detached villa, which was very well equipped.We even had a pool! 7 rounds of golf on the Royal and Ocean courses, including buggies. We also had club rental included for Taylormade M4 clubs! Even our two best players who are 6 and 7 handicaps left their blades at home. For those who have not been to VDL it is a large site but the resort has a minibus pickup from anywhere on site. Normally they are with you in 5 minutes or so. There are a few bars and restaurants open in February but if you want a livelier time you may have to taxi to nearby Quinta do Lago. To top it all we qualified for a Taylormade M4 driver which our group had a draw for.

One bed apartment very tired and in need of upgrading, would not choose this option again. Continuous calls made for housekiiping to replace consumables.

Staff at the resort were very friendly and helpful Apartment was great, resort bus to transit you around the resort and only a 5 minute wait.

The apartment was very spacious and had lots of facilities such as dishwasher,microwave, washing machine. The nice touch was the milk, bread, coffee and tea left for us. However, the apartment did look tired and really needed re decorating, especially the bathroom

Quite a large complex, but the internal "resort bus " system works well, and is easy to use. Apartment was spotless, ans had everything one could ask for. Nice outdoor terrace too. Two lovely and challenging but fair courses, with very helpful and knowledgeable staff.

May I say that every body in my group including my self could not fault this trip in any way the Royal and Ocean courses were superb offering us some breathtaking views and good golf all the staff were extremely helpful and polite

Beautiful course - long and challenging!

Played from the white tees which added a real challenge on some holes. Particularly on the back nine. Very visually stimulating and interesting to play. Placement off the tee is critical to score. Fluffy soft sand in the bunkers. Totally different to San Lorenzo in this regard. Wind makes the course very difficult.

Royal Course is a great course. Lots of fun to play and the holes down near the coast are ocean are true my special. When the wind picks up the course gets really difficult.

This is for ocean not royal.

Always a favourite in the Algarve and didn’t disappoint. Paired up with another two ball who were great to play with. Highly recommend the Royal at VDL.

Lovely layout for sure although the condition of the course wasn’t just top notch. The greens were good surfaces but with loads and loads of unrepaired pitchmarks. Otherwise very enjoyable but a slow slow round.

The signage to tell buggies to leave the fairway were all set at 100 meters meaning that there was an awful lot of walking on the par fours and fives. This in turn led to a slower round than it should have been because of having to walk from buggy to ball and back.

A busy resort, felt a bit more commercial. Driving range reduced to 9 iron only and putting green was not in good condition (a lot of traffic). We found the greens slow and bumpy. Some beautiful holes and overall an enjoyable round (not sure if I would go there again given the other options around). Staff friendly and food and service in clubhouse afterwards was good.

Lovely course. Interesting holes, even besides the iconic last few. Hugely enjoyable round.

We played this course in 2024 - absolute stunning. Course was in fantastic condition. In 2025, not so much. The course has really gone downhill. Fairways long and massively spongy. Greens were in awful condition - peppered with ball marks. Long grass. Slow. Others had not repaired their pitch marks.... it was a real disappointment and honestly a shame as in 2024 it was one of the most stunning courses I've ever played.

Great course.

Portugal always strikes a nice balance between welcoming visitors and looking after us. There is never the pervading atmosphere of"you are lucky to be allowed here", which sadly is prevalent at a lot of British golf courses. We loved every minute.

Very enjoyable course. Again not long off the tips but fair and gives plenty birdie opportunities. The overall facility is class but a little disappointed with the range!

We played both the Ocean and Royal courses at Vale do Lobo and I can honestly say it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Hiring the golf buggies was seamless, and they were immaculate — spotless and well-maintained, which made getting around the courses effortless. Our first round was on the Ocean Course, and the views were simply breathtaking. The fairways were lush, the greens absolutely pristine, and the bunkers (which I found a few of! 😅) were perfectly kept. The greens were lightning fast — honestly, some of the quickest I’ve ever played — which made putting both exciting and challenging. The following day we took on the Royal Course, and again it was spectacular. Every hole felt special, with stunning water features and beautifully designed layouts that tested every part of your game. The signature holes overlooking the cliffs and ocean really do take your breath away. Overall, the combination of outstanding course conditions, incredible scenery, and first-class service made playing at Vale do Lobo an absolute pleasure. Without a doubt, one of the best golfing experiences I’ve ever had.

Great location and clubhouse.stsff all very pleasant and accommodating. This course was mostly inland through the many properties on the development and very hilly so buggies essential with green to next tees some distance. But the 16th par 3 was worth it on the cliffs overlooking the ocean magnificent views with a demanding shot across them!!

This was the last course of our trip. The staff were again welcoming. The golf shop was well stocked with a great variety of goods to buy. It would have been good if the staff had been more proactive while we were looking but they were good when we asked for help. Again the practice facilities were not fully open and we could only warm up to a 9 iron and a 135m limit. There was also no chipping area to warm up in. The green keeper needs a new hole cutter as the holes weren’t straight and not up to the standard of the rest of the course.

This was annoying as we wanted to get ready for our round especially my mum who had hired clubs. There was also no chipping area to warm up in. A little tips and tricks information sheet about the course/resort to maximise golfers enjoyment whether a group trip, couple or serious golfers would be a good addition to the service that you provide.

Course was beautiful with plenty of decent scenery however lots of works going on around the course using cranes which are very noisy and on many occasions they would operate when hitting shots which can be distracting.

Lovely course and club house. However, it does feel a bit like a machine and the level of customer service provided from all areas requires improvement - from reception to getting buggies to the starters and bar staff. Because of this I wouldn't rush back to play it.

This course is slightly easier than the Royal and a perfect course to finish your trip if your golf and fatigue is suffering. Slightly more open and less intimidating off the tee than the Royal but the back nine is equally spectacular. The condition of the course is excellent and I’d certainly play this course again. The facilities are also outstanding and a great spot for an after round drink.

It’s been 25 years since I played the Vale Do Lobo courses and they were much better than I remember. The course is visually demanding off the tee, but if you can find the fairways the condition of the course is outstanding and allows for some reasonable scoring opportunities. The layout is very interesting and the overall condition of the course is exceptional. Finally the bar and restaurant facilities are excellent and a great spot for a couple of beers after the round. Certainly worth playing this course during your trip.

Had the best round at this place really enjoyed the course even with the building work going on. There’s some really great hole with great views, I highly recommend

Lovely course only issue was the buggy problem the same as the Ocean.

Course was great, bit disappointing not having a driving range long enough to hit anything more than a 9 iron! Also the markers for the buggys to return to the cart path way before the greens is ridiculous. You end up taking a number of clubs past the marker for your shot then walking back to the cart.

Superior course of the holiday including the facilities, are food before as played a twilight round. Round was slow dud to 2 senior groups in front but just managed to get in before they closed the course!

Absolutely loved this course, every hole is s fair challenge. Greens were a little slow fairways and bunkers were pristine. Took more pictures than shots. Signature hole is 16 ,which is fantastic, but there was so many other holes that were great ,, . Definitely be back to play this one.

Excellent all round

As a 29 golfer all the courses are difficult but found this nicer. Well kept and looked after, lovely down by the sea. Plenty of buggies, good clubhouse, food was excellent. Walkable from the Dona Filipa (about 10 minutes) if you are happy to carry your clubs or get an Uber which are quite inexpensive generally.

Our group really liked this course. It presented challenges but was very enjoyable. And the run around the beach section is perfect.

Played here in 2024 and felt walked away happier with the venue then than I did this year. Maybe because the previous days venue was so amazing and didn't get the same vibes from here.

Quite open course. Greens were alright. Not as good as Quinta do Lago

It's a good course and reasonably open. Not a difficult as The Quinta do Lago courses. The driving range is a bit short and balls not very good

annoying back and forth with the buggy guys...> We arrived at 1pm and asked for our buggies (tee times from 2pm) and were asked to come back at 1.45....We then returned to see them handing buggies to people with later tee times than ours and said 'we don't have enough buggies for you now...)....We managed to get it sorted in the end but not a great start.

Great course

No real driving range

Decent course with some challenging holes especially the par 3 16th where 3 out of 4 of us visited the beach. Well presented with really good greens. It’s quite a distance between some of the greens and tees so if you don’t fancy a long walk I would recommend a buggy

The course is very good with some lovely views. The greens are fast and true. Only disappointing thing was that the driving range was closed and the chipping area was quite a distance away

This was the busiest of the three courses we played during our time in Portugal. Clubhouse was very nice, all staff were very helpful and friendly. The driving range was shut hence the drop in stars so you were at the first tee having not warmed up or hit a ball apart from the putting area... Pace was ok bordering on slow - we were a two ball - we did go through a group which were all over the place which helped a bit. Greens were generally ok, fast pace but there were very bobbly in places. Fairways were lovely. Quite a walk between some tees and again missed a few of the signs to where next tees were as we were walking and most of the signs were on the cart path. No big drama but something to be aware of if you dont have a buggy. All in all an enjoyable round.

No driving range or even a net to warm up. Staff were rude and not accommodating. Greens were the poorest i have played on for some time and should have been told about this. Only got to play 16 holes before it got dark.

Outstanding course and facilities

I am unhappy when we booked this we were given a tee time so late, we could only complete 12 holes and the course was not in good condition so very disappointing.

Same as above wonderful course, the par 3 by the sea is spectacular, just wish I could a 200 yard drive. Watch out on both courses. If you are not 4 players they may add random 1's or 2 players to your booking. But still not to be missed.

Just a fantastic course, a course full of different challenges for all types of golfer. Some stunning looking holes with some with views of the ocean in the distance or close up to it. The greens were good but showing some wear after a busy summer. Loved both courses for different reasons, but not to be missed.

As with the Royal course I suspect that this is overplayed and conditioning suffers because of this. Not unenjoyable but we won't be looking to return to either of the Val Do Lobo courses.

A very busy golf resort, clearly a popular place to play and on the days I played both courses were extremely busy but moved at a reasonable pace. Four and a half hour round. Found both courses a good challenge. Staff not quite as welcoming as at Amendoeira, only other criticism being that would like the cost of buggies included, didn’t feel either course walkable and E50 per buggy a bit pricey.

Some nice views, but course not one of the best in the area.

A very slow round of golf. Far too many people on the course and it we could only get 15 holes in before we lost the light in 4 hours and 15 mins. Don’t tee off after 2 pm if you want to play 18 holes!

Some breathtaking holes and even for high handicappers worth playing once I would say. Again no repair of pitch marks on greens and raking of bunkers! No practice facilities for woods/driver or chipping.

Some very nicely laid out holes but others more standard up and down between trees and villas. Greens were patchy and pitch marks not repaired. Same for bunkers. The officials could have done more to encourage players to do these standard repairs and raking. One of biggest problems is there are very limited practice facilities ( no practice area for woods / driver or for chipping/ bunker play) Also paths between holes were not in great repair. There was maintenance work ongoing. We found the staff unfriendly and ignorent of etiquette of keeping clear of players and being quiet!

Incredible course only got to play 12 holes as the heavens opened and the course was closed biblical seens but before we came off we saw one of our group make a hole in one

Great golf course & lovely spike bar area. Buggy rental is an extra cost at approx £60.

Although this course has some great holes and good views of the ocean, there are also some that a lined both sides with villa's. The condition of the course was good, and most of the greens were also in good shape. Although enjoyable and a good course, my least favourite of the 3 we played.

Interesting course great facilities. Charging 6Euro for 20 balls on a chipping range seemed mean when they are charging 150euro EACH a round plus 50euro for a buggy!! Nice people. good bar and some very pretty holes.

This is a course that every golfer needs to play the facility’s are 1st class the views are tremendous and you need to work your way around the course definitely going to go back and play this course again

Very poor green condition for 1st 9 holes. Again , starter had no booking for our party . SHOUJD have been 3x3 , instead wr were sent out as 2and 4 Very very unhappy with this experience.

Not bad but out of the 4 courses we played, scored 3rd overall, feels like it could do with some injection to keep maintained, clubhouse is great though

Disappointed with the Ocean course, far too many people on the course, on one of the par fives I counted 7 golf buggies on the same hole from tee box to green, ridiculous. Also dangerous, with several blind tee shots with no bell to inform players behind it is safe to tee off.

In my opinion, the better of the 2 Vale Do Lobo courses, course generally in good condition despite the amount of people playing here. Fabulous back 9 including the famous 16th.

Round was a bit slow, however, it was unusually windy when we played.

Hi , The Golf experience itself was fanatastic . The only issue we had was that we were a little unprepared regarding Clubs Didt realise we need 4 sets thought it was easier to use 1 set per 2 people.(Father and Son) Also a little issue with a pair of sports shorts that our younger member (15) had . No loops on for belt therefore was not alowed play. Cost €100 for new pair in GOLD shop on course.was harsh. We where not advised. The course itself was beautiful and very professionally run

Outstanding course and views,big down side,waiting from 10:45am for our transfers which was booked and confirmed by YGT for 11am,which was done a year ago,our transfers finally arrived at 12:10pm and we were teeing off at 13:00pm,had to rush around,no time for a drink or practice,9 our our group didn’t play as they were sick of waiting around for the transfer.Unfortunately a very poor ending to our trip.

The greens had lots of sand on them after maintenance and were quite bumpy, would like to try it again under normal conditions.

Probably the best course we've played. Visually stunning, immaculately kept. If there was a negative it would be far too many bunkers, some superfluous as the course is hard enough without them. Would definatley play again

The Royal imo wasn’t in quite as good ascondition as the Ocean but it’s still a lovely course with some stunning holes. The greens were a bit opposite of the Ocean in that they were a bit slower. Pace of play was a bit quicker mind you maybe due to it being a Sunday

The Course was very busy which made the round over 4hrs 30mins but it was in the sunshine so no big deal. Greens were in great condition and very fast.

Stunning course, on the Val do lobo property. Back 9 was stunning with a couple of great holes along the coast. The grandstand finish topped off a great holiday. Make sure you build in time on both the royal and ocean as rounds can take about 4 to 5 hours.

Great course and fantastic scenery. Tight driving holes can increase the difficulty and time of the round. Par 3 16th is amazing! Great club house and shop. There is a bag storage area also at the club. This came in handy when we left for the airport straight after our round at this resort on the last day.

Excellent course. Loved it. The issue with timing to get around the course was mainly down to distance between holes, even though we had buggies. Can't give true rating of a cost value as booked as part of a package.

Green speed was exceptionally fast. Couldn’t attack the pins and on many occasions after hitting the green ball went straight through

As an older group we played off forward tees and the course was a fair challenge. The two holes by the ocean are spectacular.

The Royal is a fine long established track with the feature 16th hole. Fairways were in great condition, bit the layout can be hard work as it meanders through the houses and across roads and even roundabouts, with direction signage that is never that helpful or obvious. The clubhouse setting is great, but again finding your way around the clubhouse and its facilities is not simple, and tbh staff did little to make the experience memorable.

Brilliant course - we played the Royal. Some absolutely stunning holes and course in excellent condition for the time of year. You need biggies this course though due to long distances between some tees. One of the best courses I've played.

after playing the Royal first I was a little underwhelmed to begin with but from around hole 5 the course really does come into it's element, incredible views and a beautiful course, tight and tricky holes and quite hilly so on your first time around it can be hard to navigate and know where to hit your ball, your watch and buggie monitor come in handy here, overall a great experience and course and will definitely be back

The royal is an unbelievable course, the views are incredible and the iconic 16th is even more sensational in person

Our favourite of the week. Views on the back 9 which takes you right down to the ocean are incredible. Course was a bit wet in places due to rain the week before, but buggies allowed on the fairways with some restrictions. This made the playability better as you had the right club ever time! Wide fairways and playable rough, excellent greens and bunkers. Extremely friendly staff and a great ambience in the bar. Food relatively good value. So good we booked to play it again at 7.50am on our 'day off'. Playing in the sunrise an unforgettable experience!

Unfortunately only played 12 holes before torrential rain made the greens unplayable and we left the course soaked! Buggies again cart path only at this time of year (October). Course in good condition, fairways and greens excellent, rough a fair test. Disappointed we didn't get to play the signature hole, but means another visit to accomplish that!

Best course of the 2 as judged by our group of 8. The views from 11 to 16th really make it.

Love the track but greens on front nine were poor and some of the tees need levelled out. Maintenance work was prevalent on a few holes as well

Quite disappointed with this course having played the ocean course a few days earlier. Front 9 especially nothing to write home about, a 400 yard par 5 to start didn’t seem right, the greens were bobbly and if it wasn’t for the 16th signature hole over the cliffs, it may have been rated lower. Seems like the vale do Lobo courses want players from the villas and not outsiders as it seems a lot harder to sort things when on course.

Stunning course, lots of beautiful holes, very picturesque as you make your way down to the sea front. Only negative was the course Marshall being on at us as we were 10 minutes behind play overall, sort of ruined the round for a couple of the group. Especially when you have to leave the buggy far from the green. But overall I would play it again.

Tight fairways on first few holes but amazing conditions all through the course, was looking forward to the famous 16th hole which did not disappoint and is worth every penny to play at least once, would recommend a buggy if going in august as temperatures are very warm!

The villas surrounding this course complement every hole and is absolutely awesome to play around, much wider fairways than the royal course and more of a variety of style of holes. Conditions were perfect and the par three alongside the beach was our favourite. Cannot wait to go back!

Always a good course to play, Having played it a couple of times I'd say the only thing letting it down is the way it runs through the estate and bit of a trip between each hole, but overall always worth the visit for the 16th.

Very slow round, no Marshalls on the course that we could see. Course very tight with lots of villas means just constantly feeling anxious. Lovely holes across the beach and a good test, just didn’t rate it as highly as the Quinta courses. Would play again but felt a bit commercial with the course jam packed

YGT messed up the tee times and charged us for buggies which were not booked. We had to pay twice. We had to wait around for hours.

Fabulous, picturesque course, one for the bucket list - look out for the 9th (or might be the 10th) running downhill off the tee, then, back uphill to the green with a beautiful waterfall running down the left

Played the Royal with the famous 16th. It didn't disappoint. Gave us complimentary buggies which was very pleasing although we were there just before Christmas. Course was December scruffy if I am picky but would definitely return.

I dont think the Ocean is anywhere as good as the Royal. I found there was 3-4 holes 2nd-6th possibly where it felt like a park land course and then it opened up into some more sweeping attractive holes. Going down towards the sea the holes were stunning.

Course ok. Looks good but boring.

Course was OK, not a links course. Wasn't happy being assigned with strangers in a 4 ball. Marshall needs to ensure pace of play is adhered to as did have to wait 10/15 mins due to backlog of people in front.

A mixed bag - the greens were excellent and the course was in good condition but we played on a Friday afternoon and the course was packed, we waited on almost every shot and given there are blind shots on the course experienced balls landing close to us from the game behind. On some holes the buggies from the game behind were waiting behind us on the tee before we were able to tee off. I really dislike golf when its like this and over stacking of the course and the speed of play ruined our round, it was hot and we lost concentration waiting on every shot. NOt good enough given the price of a round. Practice area you can only hit 9 irons. The course has a few lovely holes but also a few where you feel like you are just playing up and down a field. Great sea views and a lovely par 3 next to the beach. Wouldnt play it again.

A very nice course and we got to play the iconic 16th hole over the cliffs, which was playing 209 yards into the wind. A couple of other very nice holes also.

course very good (windy). transfer to course on time both mini buses arrived on time ,, different story for departing the golf .. one driver came at 815am and said other driver was on way ..we had to wait for over an hour for the same driver to return ...(not happy golfers ) we never got back till 9.30 pm !!

Sadly not normally one to complain but One thing I would say is the service was appalling in the club house everything was too much trouble couldn’t get served in the 45 minutes before our tee time love the golf courses but the attitude and service ruined the entire experience to be honest wasn’t much better when we finished did manage to get a beer after but our transfer was waiting for 20 minutes because we couldn’t get the bill shocking PS it wasn’t even busy… 1/10 club house

Good range of holes, some tight some with great views. Enjoyed the challenge even if we didn't quite rise to it.

Final day on the Royal Course just cemented how fantastic this package was in general. A very different course set up than the ocean course but equally rewarding to play. Our group which consisted of 12 low and high handicap golfers could not find a negative for this experience. We finished the round and ate in the spikes bar and all felt so satisfied with the weekend experience. Great package, great facilities and looked after all day long. Huge thank you to yourgolftravel 👍

Fantastic golf course with such a variety of special holes to match. Greens were in fantastic condition especially with the amount of traffic of golfers that it accommodates. Buggy hire discount was a lovely surprise on arrival and without them the experience would’ve have been as special !! What a wonderful start to our Vale Do Lobo Resort.

Great course with so many nice holes. Holes 15 and 16 are idyllic. Played the course twice. First round was 4.5hrs but second round was over 5hrs, due to slow groups in front.

Stunning golf course. It’s all about the par 3 16th but in truth the whole course was excellent. Found it to be better maintained than Dom Pedro. Lined by beautiful villas. Some amazing terrain changes. Wonderful.

Great course. There are a few holes on the front 9 which aren't all that special.....but the views on the back 9 more than make up for it. Get a buggy, some long walks between tee boxes! This course is harder than the Royal Course IMO, but is still a great experience.

Really top quality course. Just about doable on foot/trolley but I used a buggy for the full experience! Some fantastically beautiful and challenging holes. Still playable for short hitters.

The staff at Vale Do Lobo golf reception were rude and unwelcoming. The tee boxes were in awful condition. Greens were ok - save for the stunning 16th I won’t be returning. This resort is miles apart from how great Quinta Do Lago is.

The starter guys - would not let us play as two 3 balls and instead point blank insisted we play as a 4 and a 2 - and put a German couple with us to make up 2 x 4 balls - which was extremely annoying.

Amazing course, spectacular holes, greens poor. The staff doing the starter and buggy functions were completely obnoxious.

This course is way over played and frankly, over rated which was sad. It’s clear to me the whole operation is just a money making machine with little regard for the standard of players it allows on the course. Throughout we never saw a Course Marshall who could have helped move the players on ahead, but also comment on there behaviour - divots left, no raking in the bunkers and pitch makes on many holes ignored.
