The course is widely regarded as one of the finest and often challenging courses of North East England due to its undulating fairways and tricky greens. Whitley Bay measures 6579 yards from the white tees but plays longer due to the winds that come in from the North Sea.
The views from the golf course are littered with a variety of wildlife, large trees, gorse and rough that borders generous fairways. A key feature to this particular golf course is the Briardene which runs through the course and you must carry this on the 5th,15th and 16th tees and also it comes in to play on the 12th.
The course over the years has hosted it’s fair share of National and County events and even hosted a European Tour event in 1977, The Callers.
