On arrival at 07:20 after a long flight we asked to use shower facilities but were told we had to book two days in advance but on departure we could only book on that day which is strange
When getting to our room it turned out to be a double that could not be split so that took a couple of hours for us to sort out a new room with two singles just hassle after a long flight that wasn’t needed when specifically ordered a twin on booking
Hotel was adequate transfers were good and course was lovely
We weren’t told that lunch and two beers were included after golf until another guest informed us but otherwise lovely golf course

Lovely 4* hotel. The Italian restaurant is very good. Buffet gets a little repetitive over a 2 week stay. The organisation of the golf transfers was very poor. Arrived on island too early for tee time. Return bus transfer was also scheduled too early which meant you were unable to take advantage of the food & drink after your round as you had to rush to get the allocated bus back to hotel.

Rooms are dated but clean. Superior garden rooms not adequate for two weeks , upgrade essential. Food in restaurants is good. Difficult to find smoke free areas in bars. Locating sun beds after playing golf impossible as beds reserved at 7am. Staff at the hotel are very helpful and friendly.

Upper floor sea view room. Accommodation was of the expected level for a 4-star hotel. Food was good, but the golf was excellent.

Very good hotel. If you're golfing, you're looking at a 7 hour round trip for golf. Bear this in mind d when looking for a golf holiday to Mauritius.

Brilliant from start to finish, great quality food and drinks, staff are extremely accommodating

Absolutely amazing. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Lots to do. Clean resort and amazing food.
Both left with bad stomachs possibly due to the water. Would advise bottled water or from a kettle.

Hotel was good but information from staff very addhoc. Poor information given about booking the two restaurants.
Not enough seating indoors in bars etc for when it rained.

From the moment we arrived the staff couldn’t do enough for you, they were extremely helpful. Choice and quality of food at three resultants was excellent. Glass bottom boat rides, snorkelling trips, kayaking and sailing all available for free. For those who like to snorkel, there is an abundance of sea life to see in the safe and sheltered waters next to the hotel on the reef. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.

The hotel was excellent, food choice in the main restaurant was fantastic for our group with something for everyone. There was also 2 other restaurants that you could book which both had different options and both excellent. The staff were superb and couldn’t do enough for you . One criticism though , and unfortunately it’s a major one for our group , was despite stipulating, and double checking beforehand that our booking included twin beds , we had double beds which we had to share. Our paperwork from you confirmed twin beds but the hotel were adamant that you hadn’t arranged this with them . I sent an email to Matt but received an out of office that he was on holiday . I also sent an email to reservations/ customer service asking who the twin bed request had been arranged with but didn’t even get a response . This certainly put a dampener on our trip as all 4 of us believe mature men should NEVER be expected to sleep with each other . The general consensus , therefore ,from the group is that this incident would prevent us booking with you in the future .

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The food was good and there was a great variety of it, catering to different tastes. The staff was always friendly and glad to help, making us feel truly welcome throughout our stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others and look forward to coming back!

Comfortable room with all requirements supplied. Decode was dated and needed some upgrading, towel rail constantly falling off the wall.
Room servicing was a bit hit and miss though generally sufficient.
All inclusive deal gave good value for money with plenty of choice from the 3 restaurants onsite.
The Italian one was particularly enjoyable with excellent service.
Beaches were clean though the usual mad dash to claim the sun beds starts at 6.30 in the morning, especially around the pool.
Transfer to and from airport was prompt, though local driving and the roads add some excitement.

The hotel was beautiful. Right on the beach. The staff were very attentive and the food was great.

Compared to other hotels on the island, I would class it as a very good 3* hotel and excellent value on an All Inclusive basis. The staff are excellent - generally very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite basic (think more Travelodge like) but then the weather and general outside setting makes up for a lot of that. Food is of a very high quality - especially the Italian which you have to book for. Overall the weather was 30 degrees, the food and drink was very good, and the rooms had air-con so a good place to be in January!!

Large room and bathroom. Lovely sea view but no balcony.
All inclusive food and drinks ok but not special. Highly advertised lobster buffet at the beach restaurant every Saturday night not worth the extra money charged.
Staff all very friendly and helpful especially Nirmala (our daily cleaner) and Vanessa who answered all our queries with a smile.
Service good but generally slow

Services at Ambre Mauritius is really very good. The staff and management go over and above to ensure you have a wonderful experience. The rooms are comfortable and neat, white sandy beaches all around the hotel and full range of facilities available at the property. They also have very efficient and affordable in-house medical service and staff across all service areas are polite, friendly, prompt and efficient. I strongly recommend Ambre Mauritius.
My only suggestion is that they should widen the range of food served at their all-inclusive restaurants.

The hotel was lovely a little dated but the staff and weather made up for that. Would definitely go again.

Fantastic stay at Ambre, the location of hotel is perfect. Staff are very efficient and friendly, food is great, lots of variety and choice of restaurant. Accommodotaion was good, albeit the garden rooms are a little dated but couldn't fault our maid service, towels, minibar replenished everyday and room was spotless.
Use of the beach sport facilities was great, all included, no extra charge.
Only small gripe was lack of toilet facilites close to beach. Some toilets were out of order and it was a long hike to main reception.
This by no means took away from the whole experience and I would have no hesitation booking again

The staff are very friendly and helpful. It's location the beach is amazing but it is sometimes difficult to swim in the sea as the water is very shallow for a long way out. The two pools are excellent. Sun beds round the pools have the usual ' reserved by towels' issue but there are plenty available on the beach. The food is good in the buffet and both specialist restaurants. The Plage restaurant on the beach is amazing. There is very little in walking distance outside the hotel but taxis are available. Don't change money at the hotel the rate is dreadful. Would certainly stay there again.

Great place rooms a bit tired but excellent food and facilities. Good organisation for transport to golf

The initial view from arriving at the hotel reception is incerdible....open view of the pool, palm trees and Indian ocean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming upon your arrival. We had a deluxe sea view room ...worth the upgrade .
The food in the restaurant was nice, but the choice and variety was disappointing...some not adventourous diners would find it difficult to enjoy the meals.
The bar staff were at times slow and not attentive, the same cocktails we ordered were different in colour and taste...which gave the impression that they were just making them up. Just because it was all inclusive doesnt mean anything will do !!....we found it funny when they explained that " some people make the cocktails different ways ".

A very good 4 star hotel. Comfortable, friendly, well situated and the Staff could hardly be better. Food was very good with good choices. Drink was adequate if a bit weak at times, the alternative at other Hotels can be very expensive. Local beer is good. We had a room with a Sea View which was good. Some of the Garden Rooms looking away from the Sea looked small and ill lit. Value for Money was Excellent.

The hotel is just lovely, a perfect location and a perfect size, it never seemed over busy. The beach was beautiful. The staff were amazing and couldn't do enough for us. The rooms were a good size and clean, maybe a little tired in places but no problems. Buffet food was brilliant but a bit limited if you don't eat meat. Best of all was fantastic value for money compared with any other hotel on the island. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Hotel rooms ok but could do with a little bit of update as could toilets . Bathroom door needs to be put on other way as was forever hitting you when stood at sink . Staff were friendly and efficient . Restaurant food very good . Bar staff friendly but service slow when afternoon tea is being served .
10 / 10
Probably not the best hotel on the island, but they made up with the staff who could not do enough for you and always with a smile.
Variety of food was good and well presented.

Hotel is in a beautiful location with great beach but is in a remote part of the island. Hotel staff and food are great and rooms are spacious with everything you need. Not all the bars were open on visiting due to Covid but staff were working hard to keep the drinks flowing

The Ambre is a 4-star resort which was excellent for a 4-star resort. The room was comfortable, albeit dated, and the fridge had a mind of its own, making noises throughout the day and night.

It's 4star so don't expect 5star quality.
Staff go the extra mile to assist

Hi Thomas
Main issue was communication
The hotel didn’t have our golf reservations
We had to mess about on our first day re booking the golf
The price they quoted at the hotel was different than that agreed
We stood our ground but breakdown in communication
Your role seems was merely to book the hotel
There was no bespoke care regarding the golf
We basically fared for ourselves and could have done it independently
Hotel ok but not value for money
