Although it is quite flat, the views of the iconic Mauritian coastline are unimaginably beautiful. There are a number of incredible moments around Langer's layout, where the intrepid golfer must negotiate carries over great ravines and rocky outcrops, but retaining concentration amid such natural beauty may be the biggest challenge. The golf course at Le Touessrok is world renowned for its positively amazing surroundings, and features prominently on the list of the most desirable on the planet.
Why not go for a lesson to sharpen up your game at The David Leadbetter Golf Academy. Facilities at the academy include a driving range, chipping & putting greens plus an indoor swing studio with video analysis software.
The course has won countless awards for its fantastic reputation of being one of the finest golf courses in the world including: Best Golf Resort in the Indian Ocean (World Travel Awards, 2013), Best Golf Resort in Mauritius (World Travel Awards, 2013), No.1 course in Mauritius (Top 100 Golf Courses) &100 finest things in golf (Golf International).
A game of golf does not take up the whole day, so make the most your experience and enjoy all the fine things that Mauritius has to offer off the course. There is something for everyone to do at Le Tousserok with knowledgeable activity specialists who are able a unique experience to ensure you have an incredible holiday.
There is a wide range of complimentary land and water activities at the resort, including kayaking, snorkelling, windsurfing, wake boarding and my personal favorite the banana boat. On land, Le Tousserok has their very own Tennis Club with 4 floodlit courts so you can play in the evenings when the temperature cools down. Other sporting activities which are available include football, badminton, volleyball, archery and yoga.
Perhaps you want to get off the resort, so why not head to Trou d'Eau Douce, a traditional fishing village, only 5 minutes away from the resort where you can experience the local culture and delicious cuisine. Trou d'Eau Douce was the first major settlement up the east coast of Mauritius, and is now of one of Mauritius's holiday hot spot destinations.
Simply said, Le Touessrok is the ultimate dream golf destination in of the world’s most beautiful settings. A championship golf course, luxury hotel and beautiful beaches with breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean, what more can a golfer ask for?

One of the best courses I’ve ever played, relatively short but difficult

Great experience. Arriving on a boat is novel. The course is amazing but difficult. Views of the ocean on almost every hole make up for the loss of balls. 10/10 for this experience

Lovely scenery great fairways hard greens nice clubhouse but expensive buggies /balls a good job we had our own clubs and balls

Gorgeous location. Tight and short of forward tees. Staff at course on the ball as it was v slow first time we played with big group of higher handicappers and so they proactively started us out on 10th instead. Thank goodness

The organisation of the golf transfers was very poor. Arrived on island too early for tee time. Return bus transfer was also scheduled too early which meant you were unable to take advantage of the food & drink after your round as you had to rush to get the allocated bus back to hotel.

Lovely course but challenging in parts with water and rocks getting in the way! Very good condition. Accessed by a ferry which is a gentle start to the round. A golfing trip well organised by Barry Ross of YGT.

✓27 Sep 2025
Most of our holiday was fine as green staff on hand to help, however our last four rounds were a disaster as our tees times ( that had been reserved 12 months ago) were cancelled and rescheduled, due to a large YGT group ( Barry Ross) who apparently had priority over us. One day no transfer was arranged, one day the tee time removed from the starter sheet and one day we were asked to 13000 MRS . This resulted in spoiling the last four days of our holiday as we had to speak to the agents a number of times

A bit “stressed” coming to the course the first time since everyone said it was extremely difficult, but wouldn’t say it was. It’s a different kind of golf since a lot of holes have dog-legs and you won’t be able to hit driver on the majority of the par 4 and 5s, but definitely not harder than many of the courses I play back home in Norway. Golf balls are especially pricy in the pro shop though, so would purchase those elsewhere if you can.

Difficult to rate the difficulty of the course. It is challenging and just requires good course management as it is short and tight. It is absolutely stunning.

This is a technically demanding course. Although most holes were relatively short, they demanded a lot of thought and mastery of the strong winds to conquer them. We played for 9 days and never became bored.

We went in winter and greens had just been prepared so was a small Shane however the course is incredible with views to die for. Not for the feint hearted though take plenty of balls if you are a mid to high handicapper

It was a little disappointing that we didn't realise you had to use a golf buggy so this was an added cost we weren't aware of. Also did not see this on there webpage. Not being able to carry a bag round the course was disappointing. Cost of golf balls was twice the cost of UK so again unable to factor the extra cost in. Not being able to go round solo was very disappointing and then being paired with a group of non-English speaking people and not speaking their language made the experience very awkward for all, very frustrating and not enjoyable.

Unique course. Very hard course for ladies as most greens are on an uphill slope so need an iron approach shot. Clubhouse good and very welcoming.

✓13 May 2025
The golf course and facilities were excellent - not for a beginner golfer though I might add.. one of the toughest courses I’ve ever played. One very negative point was pace of play which was shocking with buggies, over 5 hours. The food and drinks included at the club are pointless also, there is no time to sit down and eat because the ferry and bus timings are so tight.. such a shame

The staff were exceptional. Everything was ready for you, insisting on carrying your bags and ready with a cold towel at the end of the round. The transfer by boat all added to the experience. The location is breathtaking, the course challenging, I would definitely recommend this place.

This course is fantastic in every aspect . The staff were unbelievable in catering to every wish , ultimately with the objective of customer satisfaction and positive views . The course was brutal but all the more enjoyable for being so . We could also enjoy lunch in the clubhouse as part of our package and the quality was exceptional . One of the best golf courses we have experienced anywhere in the world.

Tight fairways and greens but such a wonderful setting. From tee to Green, play needs accuracy, especially when the bale out areas are limited and the rough takes a lot of getting used to, (the rough is a matting plant rather than grass, ball sits down and judging how it will fly out is guesswork) Carts are mandatory during high season and be aware that golfers are charged per person, not per cart, so double price for two golfers sharing 1 cart. Transfers are well organised with taxi to the jetty and then boat to island where you are met and clubs transferred to caddymaster. Clubs can be left at the course if you are playing more rounds for no charge. Caddymaster will set up playing partners if you are in your own. Clubhouse provides a range of food and drink but always notify them if you are all inclusive or you'll be charged. Nice selection of salads and club food. Timings of transport meant that from pick up at hotel (07.00 hrs) to drop off back (13.45) was nearly 7 hours. PS. Bring lots of balls. Prices in the shop are high.

Again beautiful course but much tighter. More water although we did well and missed it! The bar was probably not as nice as Anahita. Otherwise no complaints, I think most of us preferred Anahita.

A superb golf course. A hard course for beginners but very manageable for the average golfer. The facilities were good and the place was extremely clean. The caddy men always wiped your clubs etc. and the cool face towels at the end of the round were very welcome.

After a 20 minute drive from our hotel to the pier, and then a 5 minute boar ride, you get to the island and a 1 minute buggy ride to the clubhouse. A nice start. Check-in was easy and friendly. The caddymasters set you up and off you go. The course was in excellent condition. Greens were very fast but true. Lots of water, some narrow landing areas but overall - off the White Tees - are fair test of golf. Plenty of opportunities to make a birdie, par or double bogey. We played it 4 times over 7 days. Just about got used to it by the end of the 2nd round but scores were always around 34-36 points (off playing handicap 8). Loved the course. Not the usual wide-open resort type course, some lovely views and worth a visit. Clubhouse is a little small for what it is but has everything you need - restaurant food very good and a view of the (other) 18th green and driving range.

Playing the Ile aux Cerfs golf course is a wonderful experience as it has the novelty of a 10 minute boat trip there and back, plus almost the entire tropical island is a golf course. It is relatively short, but very tight with many challenges of ravines and long carries over mangrove swamps etc., so depending on how accurate you are, it is either average or very hard !! All the staff at the club are super friendly and helpful, from the collection in a ‘stretch limo golf buggy’ from the boat jetty, to sorting out your golf clubs onto a golf cart and getting you away on your round. The golf pro shop is well stocked and has helpful staff. The course was in good condition, if a little damp in some very localized areas due to unseasonable rain in the weeks before our holiday. We had to avoid a couple of the fairways and drive down the semi rough in our buggy. The greens were in good condition. Being able to alternate games on the two very different character golf courses is brilliant, as you have unlimited rounds on both courses included in your package.

The staff at Ile aux Cerf are brilliant. They made us feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The golf course itself is magical, having to take a boat to the island was a great experience. All our party agreed it was the best golfing holiday experience we have had and will definitely come back

Friendly and excellent service. Wonderful course but you do need to be able to hit at least 150 yards carry from a couple of the tee boxes. Would certainly play again.

This is one of the best golf courses I've ever played. You need to be accurate if you don't want to lose too many balls. It's a 10 minute boat journey over to the island and an exceptional quality of service as soon as you arrive. There is a private beach to enjoy after you have played your morning round of golf, which is probably the best beach in the area.

What a beautiful course, very tight and a real test of golf, staff were very helpful and charming, the only slight problem was the prices of things but that does seem to be fairly general on the Island, all in all I will be telling everybody that I know if they can get over to Mauritius Ile Aux Ceufs is a must

For some reason from looking at the videos before booking I assumed the golf jetty was on our resort no its a 10 minute drive away. I had 8 rounds of golf. The timing for the bus boat and golf is excellent. An average round takes 3 and a half hours. Time for you free lunch and 2 beers all included. One of the prettiest golf courses i have ever played. You even get a chase to steer the boat.

The transfers from the airport and to the golf course were brilliant , well organised and made the days run smoothly. The golf course itself was very good.....tight course with lots of mangroves and trees to clear. Once you were off the fairway it was a lost ball , and if you did find it ...no chance of a shot back on to fairway. some great photo views with the Indian ocean in background of some fairways and greens

✓31 May 2022
This course is a walk in Paradise and a golf game in hell. (Slope 155 from Black tees) Pete Dye has nothing on Bernard Langer. Tight blind tee shots, long carries, trouble everywhere. I never lost less than 5 balls in 4 rounds. So start on the red tees, see where the course goes and enjoy the scenery.
Julian
✓23 May 2022
An amazing golf course on a beautiful Island but not for a novice. The facilities were top class and where else would you get a boat to the first tee, what an experience. Greens were good and not overly quick, fairways were covered with worm casts so didn't look the best, we played pick and place so no worries for us. Yellow tees made the course to short and white tees made some carries over mangrove difficult for shorter hitters so a hybrid of both tees are probably the way to go for the majority of golfers. Take lots of balls as anywhere off line is death, luckily most wild areas are red staked or have drop zones so you don't have to hit and lose provisionals. Do not expect to hit 36 points around this track, it will beat you up. We played it 7 times and would love to return and to try again and again.

How can I ever go to golf again in a car after a week of travelling to the course on a boat. The island golf course is a pleasure to play, but be aware it bites you when you least expect it. The vista of the course is outstanding. Staff are very welcoming and only too pleased to help. Only down side was the pro shop and limited stock of shirts to purchase only sizes left was small, this was due to awaiting new stock shame as all four of wanted to make a purchase.

Le Touessrok / Ile aux cerfs is one of the most unique courses out there. Based on its own private island with a ferry required to get there, it really is a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity. That being said, the course is short but very tough (slope rating of 155 from the back tees!) - fairways are very narrow and if one strays, the ball is either in the water or the jungle. That being said, the challenge combined with the incredible location and visuals really does make it a course worth playing My only advice is bring some extra balls just in case!
Rory
✓22 Dec 2021
Service at the course was fantastic and friendly. Driving range, carts and bar and restaurant all available. The course condition was great and has amazing views. 3 of the 4 rounds were quick but 1 round was really slow due to some beginners on course. Bring plenty of balls, the course is good fun but very penal, slightly stray balls are likely to find water or forest.

Look it's hard if you wanna be hero try the whites or the blacks I'm off 5 played off the yellow and averaged 31points. Ignore par and enjoy the experience its magnificent. Slight issue of playing with couples who basically couldn't play golf they couldn't speak English and I can't do French or farsi. Like I said it's a magnificent experience the caddy staff will help in pairing up of playing solo off the back 9 if they can.

What a location! A complete golf challenge, the course requires a more strategic approach than Els Club. Club selection from the tee is the key to success, this is not a rip-it and see golf course, a must play.

What a golf course from start to finish.from getting on the boat to getting back on the boat .the staff very good food good and the course very good, the private beach was wow ,the course was hard but fair .the strong winds off the Indian oceans made it harder but on the 2 days we had without the strong wind made it easier l play off 4 played to 6 one day 7 another day in the strong winds not as good, what a beautiful place to play golf

Great course. Great facilities and good staff. Sent us off 6th one day so we didn’t get held up. They knew we were reasonable golfers. Ended up playing an extra couple of holes which they insisted we did. 2 bottles of water in the buggy. Buggy more expensive but nice ones.

At the start the Staff asked if I was a long hitter--generally yes although not always in the right direction--the reason for the question was that the tee colour determined the carry--sometimes as much as 180 to 200 yds. The yellow tees shortened the carry however I played of the whites to take up the challenge. Great day, great course, carried all the carries and finished with a par 4 at the 18th using the old green and not the bale out green for those who didn't want the challenge of the old green. This green had 140-160 approach over nothing but mangrove on all sides-you either hit the smallish green or you were dead. Fortuneatly I hit the green-2 putts-par 4. Great day on a great course. Great golfing days and also days to relax and chillout--what more do you want, the holiday ticked all the boxes--excellent experience.
