Aphrodite Hills Holiday Residences - Elite Villa, Paphos, Cyprus

The magnificent development at the Aphrodite Hills Resort is capped by designer Cabell B. Robinson's outstanding championship golf club. A painstaking five-year development programme was necessary to realise Robinson's vision, but the consensus is that it is worth the wait.

Since being awarded PGA National status in early 2017, it was later named as the European Golf Resort of the Year 2018 and the Best Golf Resort in Europe by IAGTO. The course also hosted back-to-back tournaments in 2020 with some of the biggest names in golf due to take part in the Cyprus Open and Cyprus Showdown, each carrying a prize fund of €1million.

PGA National Cyprus

Spanning the contours of the landscape's two plateaus, Aphrodite Hills is carved through lakes, carob trees and delightful olive groves, all of which are part of its immediate position among the elite of European golf. With a view towards hosting prestigious international professional tournaments, Aphrodite Hills can be set up to test even the finest players, as evidenced when it hosted the prestigious PGA Europro Tour Championship in 2010. However, it is essentially a resort course, and as such the variety of tees ensures that this 18hole golf course also remains playable for the average visitor.

The course spans the magnificent cliff-tops to the south of Paphos, and affords incredible views of the Mediterranean Sea. Robinson has also used this landscape to create a number of awe-inspiring holes; the most notable are the short 7th, at the foot of a gaping ravine, and the nerve-jangling island green at the long closing hole.

The course does justice to both the 5* quality and the natural beauty that are the trademarks of the resort, and should ensure a truly memorable golf holiday at Aphrodite Hills.

The accommodation was well equipped but tired and in need of a makeover. The ground floor flat was good and had a bar-b-que. However, we had a couple of incidents. The TVsystem was poor and did cut out occasionally. The TV was old and needed replacing. We had a power cut for 3 hours while an electrician tried to identify the fault. We had a water problem and were told not to shower for three days

We really enjoyed our stay in a two bedroom apartment. The place was clean, had AC, and had very easy access to a nice pool that was shared with a few other villas. Perfect if you like self-catering, especially with a decent bbq and outside area. Would highly recommend and would stay here again.

We stayed in a 4 bed villa which was wonderful, however the villa was a long way from the golf course (for a 3 day golfing trip) which required us to book a hire care at extra cost to our planned budget.

We wer in a 2 bedroom apartment which was very tired. There was no maid service just to make bed or clean bathroom. I cleared up on leaving but could not sweep floor as no dustpan or hoover. This seemed like staff quarters.

The rentals are great, especially for an all male golf trip. Aphrodite is a lovely estate, very beaut. Not the biggest accommodation, so don't expect lots of room, but overall still highly recommended.

Villa J005 is in a fabulous location right on corner of clubhouse with direct access to course. Bathrooms need a bit of an update. Neither are ensuite. A/C Excellent. Kitchen well equipped. Pool very good. Golf package doesn't give you access to hotel pools, restaurants and bars. But Village had a good variety. A little pricy usr your discount card! Taxis on site ard expensive. If you intend exploring island hire a car.

The twin bedroom was small and crammed, with dated furniture. Otherwise, all good. The residences are a bit far from the Reception/restaurant building where there’s at least a 10min walk. Many of my group preferred to have breakfast at their residence.

I stayed in the Theseus village apartments with my brother. The area was quiet but just a few minutes walk from the (great value and great food) restaurants and bar areas of the resort. We were lucky to dine in the Indian restaurant on arrival as it was closing for the winter that night. The food was excellent.

Exactly as advertised…stayed a week, wonderful! This was our first trip to Cyprus (we live in Arizona). It couldn’t possibly have been better. The apartment was a bit sparsely furnished but perfect for fulfilling our needs. The location was awesome…very close (easily walkable) to world class golf, restaurants, market & shops. We could not recommend more highly. Our many thanks to Liam Crabtree who set up everything before we arrived…could not have gone more smoothly. Fabulous company to work with! Will book all of our future travel through them, period.

Stayed in a Self-Catering. Good size 1 bed apartment with balcony, sunbeds and table with 4 chairs and sea view. Basic welcome pack to cover breakfast including 2 dish washer tablets, but no washing machine tablets. Located 15 min walk from shops/golf club, therefore a hire car is needed if carrying clubs. Lounge has settee, recliner armchair and table & 4 chairs. Kitchen reasonably equipped. Apartment seems to be privately owned but managed by Aphrodite Hills Resort. Apartment has access to a pool which serves about 10 apartments. Water was cool and whilst children were using pool, we found it too cold.

Mixed! Our ONE bedroom apartment was ok but don’t understand why we were charged an extra £100 each as there were only 2 of us not 4. Where would two others sleep! The apartment was a very long way from all facilities - they should have a shuttle service. Food in the restaurants is at least twice the cost of better restaurants in the surrounding villages. Hire a car and get away to eat.

Accommodation was lovely (although pillows too hard for me), but eating out on 'semi-all inclusive' was a real hassle, with sometimes only one place to go - Anoi bar. No other restaurants in the 'village' were open, and the Golf Club restaurant was open only 3 nights. The Anoi bar was a very pleasant place, and the staff were really great, but the menu we were offered there was very limited, so to find we had no other options some evenings was disappointing. We had been told we could eat at the hotel buffet every evening, but this was not the case. After a bit of an argument, we manged to eat there a couple of times and it was fine.Overall the system was cumbersome, and we were told different information at each place we asked!
