Bowood Park is a tale of two nine-hole loops; the opening half is relatively forgiving, but visiting players must negotiate the intimidating 7th hole, which at 600 yards is the longest in Cornwall.
Swiftly descending beyond the ancient Lanteglos church, the second nine leads golfers into the serene valley of the river Allen. This idyllic setting is adorned with alluring bluebell woods and babbling streams. The highlight of the course is undoubtedly the 12th hole, a challenging par four spanning 385 yards. Its island green can only be accessed via a covered wooden footbridge, reminiscent of the charm found in New England. As you progress through the course, you will eventually reach the 18th tee. Here, if you manage to drive your ball to the top of the slope, you will be greeted with a commanding view of the clubhouse. A well-deserved drink awaits you there, providing a warm and hospitable welcome.
The par-72 course is a true pleasure to play, and provides an appropriate challenge to golfers of all abilities, making Bowood Park one of the South-West's best golf break destinations.
The facilities include a covered driving range with ten bays, a spacious putting green, a chipping green and a fleet of 20 electric buggies.

The staff are unbelievably good at Bowood. From reception to the bar staff on the evening. The food is lovely and the course is great. It is a bit pricy for drinks and food. The rooms are a little outdated but overall if your staying there for the golf its fine. Not somewhere i would take the mrs. But the staff really make it. You are always made to feel welcome. I would go back despite the expensive drinks.

Really good other than one of my mates spilled water on his bed in the morning and they charged him £50 saying it was pee. Left a sour taste after a good weekend

Nice size room with kettle and coffee machine. Also a mini fridge, ironing board and iron. Found the bed very uncomfortable though so not much sleep

Great stay at Bowood, staff very friendly, helpful, nothing too much trouble. Food quality and quantity excellent. Bedrooms needed a little tlc, pillows bit hard but bed comfy, room a bit cluttered didn't really need coffee machine. Rooms very clean.

My room was large and well appointed. Being on first floor it had benefit of a balcony - unfortunately the balcony had obviously been neglected for quite some time. The staff were brilliant with nothing too much trouble and when problems arose as in this case they did, they were resolved professionally and promptly. However, all that said the feeling from all in attendance was that the premises need an update.

Course is very well maintained. Its October but the greens were perfect. There ate no ball cleaners on any hole pr many bins. But the course is so good. Starts easy and gradually gets harder too. One of my favourite ever. But top 2 in Cornwall.

The course was very entertaining, many different holes undulating in places elevated tee boxes. The greens were challenging, fast on the first day and after the rain a bit slower. The whole groupe of 15 guys enjoyed themselves with handicaps ranging from 7 - 33! The pro shop is well equipped and the Manager very helpful in adjusting tee times where possible to accommodate us. Thank you very much we will be back.
