Distance is not the main difficulty inherent to Braids design, rather the speed, subtlety and trickery of the greens is frustratingly challenging. The 6,296 yard layout is manageable for one and all, but when the wind blows - as it does more often than not - Perranporth is a worthy test even for low handicappers.
A true natural links, one of James Braid’s untouched masterpieces, capturing the essence of Links Golf.
The par 72 Championship Golf Course provides a challenge for all golfers alike. Measuring over 6700 yards from the Blue Championship tees although not long by modern standards will test golfers of all abilities.
Built high along the clifftop amongst the dunes, golfers will be treated to awe-inspiring views of the coastline looking out over the Atlantic.
Perranporth Golf Club provides self catering accommodation in the form of lodges, offering clean, warm and spacious rooms with fantastic views over the golf course and Atlantic.
A brief stroll down Budnic Hill will lead you to the town and the beach, renowned for its vibrant beach bar, "The Watering Hole."

Marmite course with 14 out of 18 holes having marker posts, but don’t be put off. One of the most enjoyable challenges I’ve ever played, breathtaking views and a course that tests your fairway & greens accuracy. A thoroughly enjoyable course with staff that go that extra length to make you feel welcome.

Funny rules, no golf shoes inside the club house/restaurant. Very friendly and helpful pro shop.

Played in a 3 club wind so a tough test and over 10 blind tee-shots did not help and took away from several friends enjoyment. The views out to the beach and ocean are incredible. Challenging course, greens excellent (although my putting wasn't) but worth playing - just hope the weather is kinder to you!

Challenging. There was a of of blind holes which made it very difficult if you was not following another golfer to navigate the course.

My expectations on this course were low as those I know who’d played it before spoke very poorly of it. Our visit started poorly as the bar manager/steward was less than welcoming and seemed happy to berate his staff in front of us.. but the course itself was enjoyable as a whole with 5-6 fantastic holes that would fit onto any links course I’ve played. The par 5’s were particularly strong and the greens were in terrific condition and incredibly quick. The views were amazing from all ends of the course.. The high number of raised greens and blind tee shots became a little tiresome towards the end of the round but I’d happily return here in the future.

The greens were atrocious They completely spoilt the round They had been heavily sanded & it had not been brushed in. I will make a complaint. The course was interesting with lots of blind shots. I think you need to play it a few times. If the greens had been ok it would have been given a better review

A diffuclt links course, with blind shots on most holes, our game wasn't helped by Storm Alex and the fact that the course had been overseeded and prepared for winter, pick & place on fairways, howevver would definately play it again under different circumstances

what a great challenge Perranporth Golf course is, true links and with some freighting tee shots, will test your nerves. loved it.

Our only real disappointment. We signed in at the pros shop which was our only contact with staff and very little help or advice given. The condition of fairways and greens was poor. Virtually every shot on every hole is blind making it a lottery when playing a new course in very windy conditions. We had played 11 holes in four hours when we had to leave to get to our next course.

Very good condition playing off whites made it difficult for the higher handicaps but very enjoyable nice weather has well.
