Brabazon Course at The Belfry

The course was very wet ,no buggies or trolleys. Carry only. You need to warn your winter players about this.

It was a lovely course, but due to the time of year the Greenkeepers were working to get it better for other times. So lots of sand on the fairways inconsistent greens but generally a good experience.

Overrated golf course, to be honest - you certainly wouldn't pay circa £200 to play it. The rough and semi rough is far too long, resulting in lost balls even a yard from the fairway. They were monitoring and warning about slow play constantly - give the grass a mow and you'll soon speed up play and improve the whole experience.

Great to play such an iconic course. Only downside was how slow the round was. we were told a marshall was going round moving people along but we didnt see one for our round. overall took about 5 and a half hours to get round.

Iconic track and a pleasure to play, although getting into trouble is quite easy. Part of the fun though. Great day out in the autumn sun. Pace of play was slower than expected - but it was a sunny Sunday ...

Walked the course. Really disappointed to find every hole roped off 20,30,40,50 yards away from the green. One par 3 was completely roped off no access. You had to walk the cart path. This is not what playing golf is to me. The full Brabazon course does not accommodate the paying customer. I found this really disappointing . The setup wants the money, but doesn’t want you to play the course.

Beautiful but technically very challenging. Long drives to find the fairway. Very lush grass and the rough challenging to get out of. Lower handicap golfers could cope with it. This a course designed for professionals and proficient amateurs. Wonderful course.

Iron play needs to be in top form fairways forgiving but if in the wrong spot you will need your swimming 🏊‍♀️ trunks if your approach shot is off line

After two days of playing some great course the Brabazon brought me back to earth with a bang. Best condition I’ve ever seen it in and pro event ready. It’s a privilege to play it. Best trip we’ve had there in th last 4 years.

Of course, this is a world class world famous course and it definitely lives up to it. Superb condition, very challenging and interesting holes, all within a beautiful setting. Couldn't fault at all!

A slow round over 5 hours however the course is fantastic and a true test if golf it would be too difficult gor less experianced golfers.

First time playing the Brabazon. The course was in excellent condition, with lush fairways and vibrant greens. The course itself is very picturesque, a must for any player who enjoys parkland courses.

The second day was somewhat better, but still took over 5 hours to complete,with underwhelming course conditions.

Cracking course keeps pulling you back to play it again and again. Hard to now drive the 10th green as i cant fade and the trees surrounding it have grown since my last visit

I’ve played the brabazon before and was slightly let down this time around with the condition of it. For the cost of my entire trip I feel slightly ripped off, the course is prestigious and very well rated but I didn’t get that feeling while being there. If it wasn’t for how good the hotel complex and bar/ restaurant was I’d of been very disappointed with what I paid for the weekend. We played the PGA national the day after and that was very very disappointing…

Course was in very good condition. Greens were excellent. Course management is essential. Before the round the staff were pleasant and well organised. There were no hold ups so got round comfortably. Highlight was my son hitting the green on the 10th

Don’t have a heavy night before playing this course. (; It’s a great test of golf. The practice green was very different to the course but the greens were decent for the time of year, late April. Would love to play the course again.

Excellent course with some very picturesque holes. Only thing that less the course was the amount of goose poop everywhere, including on the greens.

Tough course enjoyed it but didn't like being rushed by the course marshall everybody else was fantastic we can only play to the group infront and felt pressed to finish the round

A superb course in a glorious setting and with many signature holes. Only gripe was that bunkers should have been raked at start of playing day. Looks scruffy and yields poor ball lies - let’s down an otherwise top notch golf course.

Several of the Greens looked absolutely battered with big chunks missing, the course layout is very good but feels to be living off its name value rather than being a quality course

Greens were diseased would ruined the round.

Course layout makes for a really tough challenge. Water and bunkers everywhere so you need to be accurate off the tee. During our visit, greens were diseased which made them bumpy and patchy in places which didn't ruin the experience but definitely disappointed.

The conditions of the greens were extremely poor and the course has obviously been subjected to disease, the course design was well thought out and a very good test of golf

We were waiting on some tees, and the greens were the worst I've seen anywhere which waza massive shock for such a prestigious course and embarrassing for me as I booked it.

The course was fantastic fairways immaculate and really dry. Unfortunately the greens weren’t as true as the PGA. But really enjoyed it very challenging 😃

It was a shame about the fusarium in the greens but this didn’t spoil our game too much. After coming down for the Masters last year we just had to come and have a round and experience the course ourselves

Being the Ryder cup course this is well used by guests which sadly reflects on the greens condition,but what a 18 holes to play...

I love this course having played it several times previously, however it was in terrible condition this time around. The greens were diseased and bobbly making putting impossible. The tee boxes were worn and not even flat (off the yellows). It was winter rules but was definitely required as the fairways weren't in good shape either. Such a shame for such a well designed lay out and for the price

I would have gave the greens a 0 star if I could. Was like putting through unfilled divots. Very very disappointed. Not what you expect for the pricing of the course.

The setting is very impressive however the greens were in a terrible state and were very patchy. Would have expected better for a world renowned course as it was billled as by the Marshall’s before teeing off.

We were paired with another couple who seemed to be underwhelmed by the condition. They were disappointed with the fairways and thought the greens were 'diseased'. We had heard another person say this during our stay. I didn't agree. The fairways and greens seemed fine for this time of year. There's a lot of variety between holes and it's not just the 10th that provides a risk-and-reward decision. Really enjoyed the very difficult challenge.

Greens were superb and difficult but really fast .. the course needs a rest for growing as it clearly gets a hammering and in particular the winter it’s still busy .. but it’s a nice challenging course and will be back to play again

Two problems: Five and a half hour round so we were coming up the 18th at 18.30 with failing light. The greens had been dressed with admittedly fine sand.

A great test, nice to get the first tee out of the way even if I did hook it right! Greens are tough and plenty of hazards and certainly a course which can cost you shots when you don’t know it. Overall a great experience

What can I say. Played two days after the British Mastered finished and it is the closest I will ever get to play at a Championship course in Championship conditions. The grandstands were all still up which gave you a feel of how many people would be there to watch Pro's which was a nice bonus. The course was stunning and I was stuck just starring at some points in disbelief. It is just a standard and level up from anything I have played on and you can tell why the DP tour is played here. Tricky planned out shots or it's trouble all around you. The greens are ridiculously quick and tricky but it is what you would expect I get. Will defo want to play again soon.

Wonderful course in great condition. Rough just off the fairway was thick and the fairways were tight and winding. Well bunkered. The golf starter and rangers were very friendly and the halfway house serves the sausage rolls in the UK.

Amazing, everything about this course was first class

Very disappointed as they were setting up for the Masters in a week or so, Course was very busy with vehicles and building works for the tournament. Lots of the course was roped off and the Pins had been moved to the furthest part - not fair as the Green Fees should be adjusted to reflect this.

Without doubt the best course I have played. No bland holes. Special shout to Terry the starter.

The course was in superb condition. A difficult test. We thoroughly enjoyed our round. The starter and marshals were very knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommended.

course was in very good condition with a lot of work being done for the upcoming DP world tour tournament meaning the greenkeeper was trying to protect the course, the pins on all holes were about 3 feet from the edges, also buggies were not allowed even though 3 weeks before tournament

Seems easy if you put the ball in the right place but stray from the fairway and it becomes a beast. Greens must be super hard when they up them to professional speed (British Masters) a great test for us Ams.

Brilliant course so challenging. Greens good . Bunkers surprisingly poor. We had a party of 22 . 2x 3 balls & 4x4 balls. 10 minutes before tee off the lady in the pro shop informed us only 4 balls were allowed! Fortunately we were allowed to play as a group.

the pace of play again was very very slow. No hot food at the halfway house was really disappointing.

Great course, one of the best I have played around the world. The course was being readied for the British Masters which did mean an extortionate amount of greenkeepers and maintenance staff on the course - some really not fussed about moving or being noisy around play. Nevertheless it didn't detract from an amazing experience.

The bunkers are terrible but the rest is really good. It is a great risk and reward course, so all about taking on those big shots as only there once. The greens were really good and rolled true.

Can't tell you how wonderful it was to play The Brabazon with my son. We had perfect conditions to play in and just so exciting to play the 10th and 18th holes especially with all the history. Every hole was terrific. So much water!!!! Did lose a couple of balls !! A joy to see my son get a lovely 4 on 18 and l enjoyed my 2 chip ins!!!! Will remember this experience forever. Tough course, but in great condition. Pity the sand in some of the bunkers was absent.

It's like putting on glass. A six foot putt can easily turn into a ten foot putt.

Great course. However nothing like enough sand in the bunkers. Playing from the bunkers was a lottery. Also more rakes in the bunkers would encourage the lazy golfers to rake the bunker every time they went in.

All four of us really enjoyed the brabazon & had fun driving the 10th hole ( only one of our group hit the green from the tee) The whole course was really well prepared & the greens in very good condition, perfect.

Bunkers shocking weeds growing out of them More soil than sand couldn’t believe it !

Other than again bunkers lacking better sand, a really enjoyable round. Each hole needs to be thought about regarding club selection. A good par on the 10th. We all enjoyed the course, a real step up from the Derby. Looking forward to a return.

A classic and dramatic course, pretty long for the amateur, but quite forgiving inasmuch as runoff areas around greens and adjacent to most fairways built to house spectators and thus giving golfers lots of room.

A beast of a course not helped by a swirling wind! It is a great course to play and just shows how good the pros are. It's very long for the average golfer, but worth a visit. The greens were very quick but very true.

Wet conditions but still really enjoyed playing the course

Greens and fairways flooded. Couldn’t putt due to water on first 7 greens. Was unplayable on the first 7 holes. Would be a great course in better conditions.

Played the Brabazon a few times now, always a 5 hour round as course/resort is always busy, love the course and in good condition considering all the rain we have had.

This course is an amazing course!!! But unfortunately, it should not have been open for play. Due to the extremely high winds, relentless rain and condition of the fairways and greens, the course was unplayable. Again, like the PGA course, our round was not a golf round but rather an extreme test of endurance. We were throughly drenched, frozen, and disheartened. We were so looking forward to experiencing the Brabazon, one could tell that under normal circumstances this course would be a memorable golf day. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a memorable disaster. Greens with pools of water, marsh like fairways ( 9 out of 10 drives resulted in being plugged or lost) we lost a record number of balls. The high winds and rain compounded the misery. We would love to play this course again… can you please either sort out a complimentary round or refund our fee and this was an expensive walk through mud, not a golf game. Thank you- Guy

We found the Brabazon course a complete let down. Although trolleys were allowed the remainder of the course was a disgrace and we regret playing there.

What a course. Even though wet it was playable though long. Few balls lost on fairways but not too worry. Course is amazing. Greens fantastic and facilities top notch

This course lived up to our expections, picturesque, very fast greens, and would love to play it again knowing how to play it now lol. Nice little touches around the course regarding Ryder cup history and the half way house had a fantastic sausage roll.

Night and day compared to the PGA National

Very good condition compared to the PGA National course, Greens were ironed in the morning and were running quick. Shots into the rough were still plugging, would definitely return.

Much better condition than the PGA. Thoroughly enjoyed the round the course history and the layout.

Lots of water hazards and longer than I’m used too. Again weather was good which made the experience great

Condition of the course very poor, very underwhelming considering the reviews I’ve read, just expected more. The winter we’ve had had obviously played a part but the greens were still fast just looked battered. Can’t really properly judge it until you play it in summer. Do not go before may.

Course very wet and ball plugged wherever it landed. We even lost a ball in the middle of the fairway! Had to lift ball and clean it after every shot. Greens however in good condition and we enjoyed the game despite conditions.

As with the PGA National, The Brabazon was also waterlogged and practically unplayable. The starter did say prior to tee off that we could have a refund for the golf, if we wanted due to the level of water on the course, but as we were there, and had traveled a good distance, we decided to give it a go. It's a shame as the Brabazon does look an amazing course, but having it open in those conditions, doesn't make for an enjoyable experience. Again the feedback was that the course has been struggling for due to the level of rainfall recently, and ti main have been an idea to provide this information prior to traveling, to allow us to make an informed decision. I fully appreciate weather plays huge part in golf and you play the course as you find it, but that's on the assumption that the course is actually playable.

Tough in the wind, cold and mud but in good condition given the amount of rain we'd had. Some really great holes and the rest good. Would definitely play again but maybe in summer! Staff really helpful throughout as well.

Stunning course. Best I’ve ever played. Not easy, but that was expected. The sausage rolls at the halfway hut are a must have too!

This course is amazing. We started on the back nine (shotgun start) and was so much more impressed than the previous day on the PGA. It got even better in our opinion on the front nine some of the holes are just stunning however again with it being November conditions we’re far from ideal and it was very boggy. Greens were great though all things considered.

Very Wet. Probably should have been closed. So wet underfoot made it a difficult round.

Very disappointed with the presentation of this iconic course. The bunkers were rock solid with divots in them and some of the fairways were like a swamp and unplayable. You literally lost your ball on the fairway amongst the leaves and/or buried in the mud.

This course was impressive and all maintained unlike the PGA course. It however has the same issues relating to 5 mins gap between groups leading to relentless waiting to pay each shot for the group ahead to play the course. No mater how good the course was it was totally spoiled as it took close to 6 hours to complete, very disappointing aspect and totally unnecessary. The money grabbing is soo evident here. Will not be returning and will advise others who are thinking of doing so about our experiences.

Last minute change to not allow trolleys despite being allowed the day before caused a few issues running round trying to find a carry bag. Tee shots were plugging on the fairway so no run at all so a lot of the Par 4s were not reachable so made it hard work. 5h 15m to get round which is too long a round.

I have played the Brabazon 5 times and for a high handicap golfer it is still an amazing challenge to walk in the footsteps of golfing greats. I brought my son along for his 27th birthday treat,although he hasn't been playing the game for long he absolutely loved it, a great first experience for him and another for me, will be back next year.

Iconic course, amazing greens. Had rained overnight so the fairways and rough were very wet, and some of the bunkers quite variable.

The holes were to long for me playing of 18.9,but I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You must play the course its very intimidating, but I relished the challenge.

Its the BRABAZON !!! OMG..I did not want this round to end, I was quite sad and yet exhilarated to walk off the 18th green at the end,knowing where I had just played 18 holes. Everything about this course is amazing, it's challenging in every respect, no matter your skill level and yet exciting and fun to play. The greens, fairways and tee boxes were all in superb condition. One thing though...AVOID THE ROUGH, holy crap but it is hard to get any sort of ball control out of it.

Five and half hours. Didn't see a marshall all day. One person in the group in front obviously hadn't played golf before

Fantastic experience playing the Brabazon, course was excellent and pace of play good for such a busy and difficult course.

Very disappointed. The grass was so long everywhere it was unplayable in some areas. In the bar in the evenings we was talking to other guys and everyone was saying the same. It took us 5hours 45mins to finish it. We will not be rushing back any time soon.

It is a fantastic course, however I found it too long. I hit a decent ball and play off 7.5 but most holes are driver rescue or 3 wood

Only disapointing point was we booked as three and we had a fourth join us, this was a business meeting so was difficult. As far as I am aware this was not highlighted when we booked or else we would have found a fourth or paid for a fourth,

Amazing course

Unbelievable course it woz in fantastic condition best course I have played

This course is good. Unfortunately when you compare the overall experience to similarly “elite” venues it falls a bit short: there is a warm up facility- but you have to pay extra. Having booked and paid for the warm up facility online, I arrived to discover that they didn’t actually maintain the online booking process and there were no bays available. Starter welcome was ok. At all other courses of similar reputation (price) I have received some sort of welcome pack/pouch - nothing of the sorts here. The pace of play felt slightly slower than expected for the front 9, but encountering a 5 group pile up at the halfway house resulted in a 40 min wait while it cleared. This has to be monitored/managed better by the “ranger” - who we never saw at any point. Condition of the course was excellent considering the traffic that goes through it daily, but regularly found myself on sloping and very uneven lies ON THE TEE BOX.

The Brabazon is on most people’s bucket list to play and it did not disappoint! Unfortunately the weather was very poor and we played in extremely wet conditions however the course held up very well! Again a tricky course but you also had the feeling you could attack it although the conditions certainly hindered. We will definitely be back to play the course in the sunshine as I’m sure it will be even more amazing in decent conditions.

Could not fault this course in any way, we were lucky enough to play this just 10 days before the 2023 British Masters so the course was immaculate, rough was up and the greens were like carpets.

Course was closed at the 9th due to rainfall and storms. Pro shop very helpful in providing a rain check ticket for 18 holes in the future. My golf shoes went missing…possibly outside of the pro shop

We played here two weeks before the British Masters so it was in excellent condition. A huge amount of prep work was being done for the tournament but it didn't affect our enjoyment at all. It was so enjoyable to follow in the steps of golfing greats and all 18 of us had a wonderful time.

Water hazards and bunkering made the round a really tough test. The layout was excellent.

Played of white tees which alot of them were actually of the championship tees really tough, greens were sensational but really enjoyed every minute on the course absolutely beautiful course to play!!

6450 off the yellows Course was in good shape ahead of the dp world coming. Back to back 4 calls made it 5h10min round. Very painful. 1 4 ball effectively backing up the entire course. Back 9 quickened after marshal stepped in.

Fantastic experience to play this Ryder Cup course but take plenty of balls as there is water everywhere

The course was well presented but there was some standing water in places and the bunkers were not great, one of the group had a chunk taken out of his sand wedge after striking a hidden boulder covered in a light covering of sand

Great course loved it although I need to be a better golfer to cope with this course.

Range isn't close to any course so be prepared in advance. Fairways in need of a cut and some bunkers poor due to recent rain, hit and miss in the bunkers, some were OK, some unplayable mud heaps, same on the PGA National. Still really only 2 standout holes, rest are a little meh to be honest. I drove the 10th which was something to cheer about and I also managed to not be rinsed for a £3.50 bottle of water at the half way house which perhaps is harder to achieve!

Condition better than PGA National but considering the time of year it was very disappointing. Except a few iconic holes it is a standard parkland course and not worth the hype or money Highlight is the sausage role in the halfway house

Awesome despite price - if you visit the belfry you must play this course. We only managed 9 because of a huge hailstorm closing the course. But I have a bad weather voucher (thank you Belfry) and can’t wait to play 18 holes.

Lovely course but very hard. Yellows were placed in the white positions making the course very long. Greens were lightening quick despite the rain the day before. One of the best courses I’ve played. Fairway grass was a little long but well maintained and few divots etc.

The weather made this hard long course really difficult with very little run. Will play it again in the summer.

What a course! Weather was fantastic. Sunny and calm, so that helped. The course is challenging because of the water and amount of bunkers dotted around. The greens were just superb. Very quick, and tricky to read. Some of the holes are very pictureseque too. A pleasure to play this course, so enjoyable. If you love playing golf I certainly recommend that you take on the challenge of the Brabazon!

Really disappointed we had not been informed that trolley's were not allowed on course. we had to hire carry bags. If we had known we would have brought our own. Not what we had expected at a premium course. This certainly didn't help the overall experience.

The condition for this time of year was exceptional. Although I marked the difficulty of the course as average; in fairness I would class it as average-to-difficult.

Was looking forward to playing here but With the driving rain and wind the course should not have been open,very disappointing we had to play in them conditions,we also had to carry(no trolleys allowed)two of the guys found it very difficult,we didn’t play all the course. Over all a disappointing experience.

Very wet underfoot with standing water on fairways. 50mph gusting wind and rain, not a great day for golf. Carry only which given age was a task, took only 5 clubs and relied on partner's bag to borrow "clubs". Greens though were in excellent condition for the time of year. Value for money yes given time of year!

What a great course a really tough test of golf even playing off the yellow tees for handicap golfers. Beautiful scenery and stunning holes with hidden traps . Course Marshall was great and the 10th is always special especially if u drive the green .

Too much water around the holes and also unrealistic bunkers to get out of, had to go sideways, plus the greens and approaches were covered in geese poo which when there is water on nearly every hole makes it an even harder experience, geese prints and poo in the bunkers too, we would have liked to have a go at the course but found it not a nice experience

Wonderful as usual but so slow, no refreshments buggy despite 37 degrees, had to wait till Wishaw hut, need to get the buggy out more on days like these

As you'd expect this course is not for the faint hearted extremely difficult greens plenty of water and bunkers. Although there were marshals play was very slow due to 4 ball groups holding smaller groups ups and not having the decency to let them play through to speed up play

The course was immaculate from the 1st to the 18th. The tees were set back to the whites but didnt detract from the pleasure of playing it

Manicured even on the edges so "no long grass which they could be bothered to cut". It did make it harder to lose a golf ball. The greens were very good. Presentation was 10 times better than PGA - and should we ever return may ask to solely play The Brabazon. Probably all helped by a tournament just finishing before we played & a big corporate event the following day.

The course was in excellent condition with fairways and approaches like carpets. Greens were also very good. Round was a bit slow but the stewards did an excellent job in bringing people through the slow groups and were out monitoring the whole time.

A fantastic course, have played before a few years ago and the conditions were perfect! Lots of water to contend with and certainly a huge challenge, even for a single figure handicap player. Awesome and the knowing the history made it worth every penny

Tough course being a new golfer but absolutely stunning and felt very lucky to be playing it.. some simply stunning holes with water features galore. Of course tried to drive the famous 10th for the experience but not quite successful on this occasion but I’ll be back for sure to take it on once more. Have been playing two years and this is the best course I’ve played on so will return sooner rather than later.

the course had suffered overnight due to rain, all the bunkers were very wet and hard and I personally think should have been made GUR for the day, everyone loved playing such an iconic course though and the facilities and the meet and greet at the first tee by the starter made it feel quite special

Very hard to judge where the streams across the fairways are the tee shot on 18 is hard enough then if your brave enough to go for the green good luck I tried and failed miserably

Great course with bunkers placed exactly where you don't want them. Testing greens that are fast with undulations and grain that really need a careful examination before pulling the trigger. The bunkers caused me a few problems as well as coming across many that were not raked so poor lies. That is my only grumble. Loved it though.

Was expecting a course that was out of this world for the money that we paid, was nothing special and you're obviously just paying for the name. Was just above average I would say.

Rough around the greens was to long making chipping difficult for the players handicap range 7 to 21. Fairway were excellent.

Wow, Wow and Wow. Exceptionally friendly staff in all areas, the feeling of following in the greats footsteps was amazing and truly memorable, the course was in exceptional condition, greens hard to read at times. Buggys had GPS that even told you when you were driving too near the greens and areas to keep away from. Fantastic experience, one not to miss.

The course was being st up for the British masters it was fantastic and a fantastic experience

Set up for the British Masters so felt special with all of the stands etc. Pace of play was decent and condition was very good.

High handicaps are able to play this course but it can be brutal.the greens are mega quick but true.what a delight to play.

Held up a bit by group in front, we were walking but still should be less than 5 hrs. Very difficult sloping greens.

It was a professional level course where roughing was difficult and the green was very fast.

It's the only reason you go to the Belfry.... Its a forgiving course with some memorable holes. Its a good show piece and worthy of a visit.

thought the layout was superb and greens great for early season. lost plenty of balls as lots of water at front of greens. didnt play the 16th hole as exited 15th green to left down the path and the next teebox was the 17th hole which was down to rubbish signage and it was a long walk back to 16th teebox and course was busy. The rain and wind arrived as we prepared to play the 10th which i was looking forward to greatly. i hate golfing in the rain and lost 2 balls off the tee into water.

Sadly rain and wind conditions meant we only did 15 holes.

Challenging course keeps you thinking all the time.

The course more than lived up to our expectations, it was challenging in places, as it should be but wasn’t overly punitive if you missed the fairways. The greens were in excellent condition and ran very true. For better players wanting to shoot low scores then pin placement make shot execution vital.

Awesome round of golf

This was a good test of golf..course was in good condition but had, had a lot of traffic, winter rules in operation so we could place on fairways which was good, greens were fast and true..bunkers again not been raked, this could be due to pace of play worries; had to use one tee mat on 14th; but still very enjoyable game..we were paired up with two others on the day, but that was to be expected no issues with that..so overall a great experience.

4 hrs and 46 - brutal course - what a setting - unbelievable this course was - greens like saucers - very fast - accurate but not forgiving - water and burns and bunkers everywhere - long course with so much variety - brilliant

Few of us are coming back to watch the British masters in may, so it was so good to play this course which was unbelievable, it runs the 2010 course close in Newport. Can’t wait to back and watch the pros do it, me and a few others drove the famous 10th so it made our weekend.

From the pro shop check in to the first tee is a short walk. Starter/Marshall on the day was excellent. Gave us a brief history of the course outlined some of the great events, gave us some brief guidelines to follow and told us about the facilities. Course is long with considerable amount of water and greens very quick. Course was in excellent condition and again lots of ground staff seen working around the course.Excellent experience

The course, which I have had the pleasure of playing many times was in dreadful condition, there was sand everywhere and areas around the greens and fairways were just simply scruffy. Tee boxes were terrible and uneven, tee pots had been placed so close together to protect the tee that the area you had to drive from was worn with plenty of divots. Greens were in poor condition so overall a very disappointing day on the Brabazon. It didnt help that the course marshall failed to speed up the 4 ball in front who had lost 2 holes in the first 6. What is the point of having a marshall if he or she is not going to move play on when it is frustratingly slow? A 25 minute wait to tee off at hole 10 was another frustration!

All they seemed to be interested in was getting it ready for some comp in May, sand everywhere greens bumpy only 1 rake per bunker No buggies even though we had pre booked one they should have told us beforehand 1 of our party could not play as he struggles to walk, Beer £6.55 per pint every thing was a RIP off one of our party stayed the night before and had to pay £160 B&B Would def not reccomend to visit here.

As always the starters are great. Knowing how on it the course marshalls are during the summer we were amazed to not see any during our entire round especially when there were two groups in front playing texas scrabble (very badly) holding us up on EVERY shot from first tee shot to our last. Had we not have been playing the Brabazon could have quite easily walked in.

Incredible for the time of year, greens rolled out and very few groups on the green.

It was very foggy so didn’t have the best experience on the day as it was hard to see. I filled in the bad weather voucher form on the website and they were very quick to respond and gifted me a complimentary free round on the Brabazon. Excellent customer service!

What can you say about this course, very good on the eye, great condition even in winter

Overall the course was in good condition for the time of year. However, after being sent information the winter course preparation would start on the following day 16th Nov. Drain lines were being cut and sand applied to a number of fairways and semi-rough areas during play, which spoiled the whole experience of playing the Brabzon course

Another sunny and breezy day. Course in great condition for the time of year (late October). Plenty of water to concentrate the mind and some really scenic holes.

Great golfing, but disappointing as we had to finish the course the following morning (4holes) due to a party of 20 with no golf etiquette in front of our Party of 8

I never thought I'd get the opportunity to play this course but "wow" I'm so thankful I did, the fairways are like greens, the greens are so fast it's unbelievable, the pace was perfect, its well Marshalled, its difficult, it is fabulous, the course of the Pro's.

Great challenging course

Absolutely loved it, a real challenge and very scenic. The signature holes were great but I really loved the third. I have said good value for money as I am taking this as an overall package, we paid £378 for two nights in the hotel and three rounds on all three courses, not sure I would want to pay £185 for a round on the Brabazon.

Fantastic course. Well worth the wait until the 3rd day of our trip. Felt it the right call to play this one last, the others would have been a bit underwhelming if playing afterwards. If I come back, I’d definitely pay the difference to get on here more then once. Loved it.

Absolutely brutal test of golf but if you play well you can get it around. Greens were the best I’ve ever played on. Pin positions were a hit too severe and especially the signature hole the 10th was back left and literally impossible to get to for us mere mortals. I had to putt away from the hole even though I was on the green. Also 18 was back left which took some of the fun out as I had about 120 foot of putt and ended up 4 putting. Still an amazing course and such an iconic place to play.

One of the worse rounds of golf I have played. Stopping at every tee for 10 minutes waiting for the people in front. Not a marshall in sight didnt finish the last 3 holes due to the light which is a shame becuase of how nice the course is.

6 hour round of golf! There was a major competition ahead of our party on the day. Due to that (and a 'hit a ball off a golf shaft' game) our entire party (20 golfers) were all on the same par 3 waiting at one point.

First time playing the Brabazon and very nice course. Generally course conditions were excellent and up to what you would expect. Course is very interesting and you have to plot your way round. Our group has range of 8 golfers from single figures to 36 play 3 times a yearers and all enjoyed the course. Would say that compared to the PGA it is a touch overpriced as PGA is better value for money.

Very challenging but great fun.

We were very impressed with the condition of the Brabazon. The fairways were in great condition along with the greens. The course was difficult mainly due to to the narrow guarded entrance to most of the greens.

Very disappointed in a 6 and 1/2 round! The Golfers in front held all the course up then made us have a very long waiting round and then we ended up departing very late!

Fantastic experience

Great course. I classed it as average,because I managed it well and avoided most of the hazards. Beautifully manicured and well watered, the ball doesn’t run like the PGA. Delighted to say, that I landed the green on the 10th , I’m still buzzing !! Definitely one to play again.

Course was absolutely fantastic. What was disappointing was the fact I was told by booking was for 9.40 onwards for 7 tee times only to be told by the belfry staff that your golf travel had spread the tee times over 2hrs which myself and the rest of the party were not happy with, as your golf travel stated we were all together when the booking was made, I may find it hard to use your golf travel again because of this.

The course was great apart from the odd area that had been dumped with tons of sand to help dry it out. Feel these areas could’ve been looked after a little better than they were Course is always a pleasure to play

Great experience. One or two fairways a bit wet and covered with sand but to be expected in late October.

Very disappointed due to three reasons. 1. We stayed on an overnight stay for two, to play the Brabazon and the PGA and 5 minutes before Tee off, when we attended, the starting marshals hut, we found we were being paired up with another 2 Ball, to make a 4 Ball, who were complete strangers to us. I think this is very wrong, unfair and a serious health risk forcing strangers together given the current COVID-19 Pandemic situation and not advising this was to be the case, intention of the Club. Also, Due to stacking from the 15th to the 18th we were being rushed, by marshals despite no slow play whatsoever, due to over tee subscription, we were being hassled, to speed up although, we were not slow, the Marshals saying they were struggling, to get everyone behind us, in before they lost the light. At one point they had us tee off, hide under trees for others behind to tee up and play onto our fairway and subsequently we had a false 8 ball situation, as I say stacking play to get people moved on. Ruined the round and the experience. Finally, albeit I understand you are going to not have perfect conditions in Autumn 🍂 🍂 But some of the greens really were spoilt by too many leaves 🍁 🍁 interfering with play, particularly the iconic 10, Very frustrating indeed.

The greens staff do a wonderful job in keeping the course in good condition considering winter conditions with lots of rain. The course was water logged in places but the greens were excellent considering the time of year. I played off the yellow tees in a shotgun start. Some tees were moved to where I would imagine white tees would be and some forward to where red tees were. The course from the back would be a tough challenge but the fairways are reasonably wide. I was disappointed in that there were no range balls included and the range is rather far away.

my opinion for the Course is not real, because the Course was so wet - not normal conditions. in Germany and Spain this Course was closed because the weather. i think we were the only stupid guys to Play the course under this conditions. "the whole Course was temporary water" . really the whole Course..... but it was a once in a Lifetime Event and we enjoy the atmosphere from the Ryder Cup

An excellent golf course with water on most holes and one that requires both distance and precision. The greens were superb and fast, with many double tiers and if you find yourself with a downhill putt, best of luck! The 10th is gorgeous, but can’t see how one can go for it as the landing area is so tight, so more like a nine iron off the tee instead. We were the second group out and never saw anyone on the course, in front or behind us, so pace was really good. The staff were great and the facilities are top class too. Will definitely be back!

12 of us played, very mixed abilities so did a better ball format. Made the course extremely enjoyable and playable for the not so talented in the groups! Overall fantastic experience to play such a famous course. Starter and Marshall’s were extremely professional and reassuring. Would play again for sure.

Lived up to expectations!

Lovely course very hard in the heat. 31 degrees. Lovely greens. Bit pricey for what it is as without prestige of Ryder cup wouldnt pay more than £40 a round.

Terrific, from the starters briefing all the way through to the 18th green. No queues, no waiting and the course itself was an absolute dream to play, all our group were raving about it.

The best golf course I have set foot on in England. Strange seeing it on TV and then playing it. Things seem smaller, but still perfect. A real treat to play here, just wish I'd had the legs for it having played the PGA the day before.

Loved it. Very playable for average golfers from the yellow tees. But they allow some very poor golfers to play the courses, so it can take a while to get round. Fairways excellent, rough not so long as to make it difficult to find one's ball. Greens quick but far too many unrepaired pitch marks!

Long par 4's but this is the challenge that we seek. Just to see how we perform on top quality tour standard courses. Brilliant.

Tough course but no hold ups ..in excellent condition. Course marshals kept it flowing.

I have been fortunate enough to play The Brabazon several times and it's sad to see the deterioration. The sheer numbers of people playing have inevitably taken their toll. Maintenance is nothing like I have seen before, bunkers are unraked, green surrounds are scruffy and the greens themselves, whilst putting okay didn't look great.

The course was in fantastic condition and although play was slow we had a wonderful time. The course lived up to its superb reputation

We were put out after a corporate day so we ‘enjoyed’ a 6 hour round. No course supervision and no one there to push things along. Greens were not up to scratch. Shame.

Hard course to navigate and so it should be, it is kept in top notch condition and is beautiful on the eye. Hole 10 courses trouble but that's what its there for! Fantastic golf course.

Absolutely stunning course, given the weather we had the previous two days the greens were true and fast, and the fairways beautifully manicured. A hard but fair test of golf I will certainly be returning to play again, one of the best I have played certainly in the top 5.

Fantastic. Not a bad word to say about the Brabazon. A wonderful mix of accessible and extremely challenging holes to keep you interested whilst reminding you that you are on a world-class course. Every hole had something about it and with water on 16/18 holes it is a stern test. Hole 10 is a delight as are thee holes back towards the hotel over water on 9 and 18. Greens were quick despite the heavy rain and deserved the ultimate respect. Fairways were a delight to hit off and the bunkers are positioned excellently to punish even the slightest mistake. This was my first Championship standard course and didn’t think I was totally out of my depth. I thoroughly enjoyed playing the Brabazon and could well make it an annual trip.

This is a thinking mans course as it was windy and very boggy due to the rain etc it must have had. You had to play to the conditions on the day but being an 18 handicap I throughly enjoyed it it brought out the best of me on the day.

The course was in good condition as it had rained heavily all night and morning before arrival. Apart from finding the course long it played well.

Fabulous course with lots of Ryder Cup history. Great holes include the 10th and 18th we’re past greats have played. If you hit the ball straight and play sensibly the course can be tamed by players of all abilities.

What an amazing golf course. We got lucky with the weather this time of year, the sun was out and not too chilly. The course was in immaculate condition and the starters were very helpful keeping the pace of play for tee offs.

In better condition than the pga. But that wasn’t hard. It was a good experience to play there. Was a very slow round. Even the four ball in front phones the pro shop to get a martial on the course. As there was none to be seen. We were 50 mins behind schedule according to our buggy. Overall bit disappointing experience as I got this deal for my Dads birthday. We won’t be going back any time soon.

Well organised and top notch course. Buggies £50! We had an early tee time and sailed round but I suspect later times would be busy. Played the course in Autumn but still fast greens and good condition.

Excellent golf course well organised tee off time. But I had 1pm tee time which was a bit late did not finish till 6:15 and nearly dark.

Easy to understand course mainly flat from tee to green. Nice water hazards so course Management comes in to play alot

Great course with lots of history....really enjoyed playing it again.

Again the starter and the staff were really pleasant and helpful. Made for a great day. My son lost his wedge which was handed in on day 2 of our stay. The starter jumped in a buggy and delivered it to us on the 10 hole of the derby. How was that for going the extra mile? Much appreciated.

Excellent course, marshalled very well with an excellent and knowledgeable starter. Greens lighting, fairways excellent, an experience every golfer should try before they die.

There’s no better course ! Amazing from the first tee
