Lopesan Costa Meloneras Resort & Spa

Fabulous breakfast.

The room was fine, the location of it was not good. Ground floor, no view, dark. Since I had requested a nice room it was disappointing.

OK so whilst the hotel is nice there are a few very major gripes. 1. No complimentary water (except two small bottles on arrival day) even though the water from the tap is not potable. I've never stayed in a 5 star hotel where they don't at least top up the water in the room daily. Charges for a small bottle of water in the hotel 2.80 euros. Scandalous! 2. Half board consisted of a buffet every evening with no allowance given if you wanted to dine in one of the other restaurants. The hotel has 1,236 bedrooms so if you reckon high season about 80% occupancy with 2 people per room that's nearly 2,000 people to feed. The buffet area consisted of a narrow corridor where they had market stalls all in a line. So if you wanted some food from one stall and something else from another you had to queue twice. Plates were stone cold, the overhead heater lamps and hotplates were not on and consequently by the time you got back to your table the food was inedible. And bizarrely here you go... this is a typical example of the nonsense, there were 3 toasters available to use for the morning breakfast. These were positioned in the middle of the corridor, but the butter was at each opposite end of the corridor. It was chaos. 3. Beach towels: Two towels were provided in the room for your stay. If you wanted them changing you had to attend a shed on the complex between 10 and 12 in the morning where they would happily swap them over. Then that evening you took your wet / dirty towels home and had to wait till 10 the next morning to change them (and yet another queue!) But we are golfers... so that meant we were out playing golf between 10 and 12 so after golf when we came back and wanted a relax by the pool and a nice swim it meant having to use yesterday's used towels. 4. The pools were lovely. However the beds were literally side by side with no space between them. No space to turn them round to follow the sun, no personal space or room for anything. And the sad part of it all was the majority (I'd say a good 50%) of the beds were totally unused! They could have removed a great number of them, easing the congested feel around the pools easily improving the experience and ambience. Overall opinion is that the hotel is just too big.

Lovely hotel, staff all friendly professional and courteous. Only had breakfast, a vast selection of delicious things to try. Room clean and adequate for what we needed.

Perfect location for the golf hotel resort was as good as you will get

Huge hotel with a massive lagoon pool and several smaller pools dotted around. Hotel was in prime location for Meloneras but 2000 people is a lot to serve for breakfast and it was like Xmas shopping on Oxford Street so didn’t feel like a 5 Star hotel at Breakfast. Staff in all bars were not particularly friendly and clientele were predominantly German with things geared towards them

Great hotel with stunning outdoor area's

The hotel was very comfortable and well designed with one exception, the large restaurant where breakfast was served to all guests. I estimate this catered for 2000 plus guests each morning and consequently it was unpleasantly busy and not relaxing. The hotel could rectify this by dividing up areas. Because of this we didnt dine there but used local restaurants which were close by and plentiful. In all other aspects the hotel was excellent.

The staff were amazing. The room is large and very comfortable. The downside was the queues for breakfast and cold food, you needed to go before 8am for a pleasant experience and hot eggs. The bars were large and impersonal, so we went to local bars instead. Overall a great location and lovely bedroom, the spa is out of this world but they need to sort the breakfasts and make the bars and restaurants more appealing.

Hotel gardens super impressive but the atmosphere and staff very grim No one smiling so no Christmas spirit Never again at a Loposan!

Rooms not the quality we expect for 5 star. Rooms basic and looked straight into other rooms.

Over the past couple of years we have stayed at all three of the Lopesan hotels in Meloneras, they are all very large and quite adequate. The only trouble we had this year was that our sea-view room also looked over the main courtyard area, where, everynight they staged a musical show, that was very loud and unfortunately for us early retirers went on quite late. We have also stayed at the H10 hotel, which is much smaller, of the 4 hotels the H10 would be our choice in future years.

All good , the only issue is it is a large hotel with a large number of customers which might not suit every one.

Fabulous hotel, room, food, all facilities excellent, close to the main walkway to explore bars and shops. Only little blip was because of early start times between 07.40am and 07.54am which we asked for, the shuttle bus did not operate until 08.10, no problem though, we asked reception for a taxi and it was there before we got out the door, only cost 3-4 euros, not bad for 4 people and 4 sets of clubs, and short journey as well.

Beautiful course and surrounding views.

Lovely course, in great condition. However beware... they don't provide complimentary water here as they do on the Maspalomas golf course, so you have to either buy bottled water at a premium price or an empty bottle and fill it yourself at the filling station.

Immaculate fairways and greens, a mixture of tricky and easier holes will test any ability

Great course conditions with a welcome breeze from the sea

Nice course with great sea views but slightly pushy to insist a single scratch golfer joined our group of 3 25 plus handicap golfers and that he shared a buggy with us despite paying €25 per person

Course of 2 halves. Front nine very congested with holes on top of each other. Back 9 spread out a lot more with more features to holes.

An interesting course with some big carries over ravines and views of the coast. Tricky when the wind gets up. Great greens sufficiently sloping to make it interesting and not always easy to read. Generous fairways.
