Established back in 1892, Headingley stands as the most ancient golf club in Leeds. Nestled on the outskirts of the picturesque Adel suburb, just a short 5-mile distance from the vibrant heart of Leeds, it exudes timeless charm and elegance.

The course relocated in 1906 to a picturesque rural landscape, crafted by renowned architects Dr Alister MacKenzie and Harry Colt, it now offers breathtaking vistas and a collection of unforgettable holes that take advantage of the diverse and striking terrain.

While maintaining its traditional charm, the course has been enhanced to meet contemporary standards, making it a delightful choice for both traditionalists and modern golf enthusiasts. Headingley is renowned for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, ensuring a friendly experience for all who visit.

Headingley Golf Course

The founding members of the club gazed upon a patch of heath and farmland next to the charming Norman church in Adel and envisioned a magnificent golf course in that very spot. Today, more than a century later, the course remains nestled in a tranquil rural setting, offering breathtaking views and featuring numerous unforgettable golf holes that take advantage of the diverse and striking landscape.

It is hard to define the character of Headingley as this traditional out-and-back layout stretches to Alwoodley with views of Eccup Reservoir, on such varied terrain. Part heathland, moorland and parkland the holes are all challenging and distinctive and with 4 sets of tees can be enjoyed by all levels of golfer.
