The Heritage, designed by the duo of Seve Ballesteros and Jeff Howes, is a modern classic, designed according to the principles of today's resort golf. As such, the course is not typically Irish, but it is exceedingly good.

It may be relatively young, but the course has already been recognised as one of the best recent additions in the UK and Ireland, and visitors have already included John Daly and Vijay Singh. The layout can be stretched to over 7,300 yards from the back tees, but there are options to suit all standards of golfer.
Set against the backdrop of the stunning Slieve Bloom Mountains, there are five lakes and a meandering stream, that serve to challenge visiting golfers on no fewer than 10 of the holes. The gently undulating track has been fitted with close to 100 challenging bunkers, and 7,000 mature trees, which have helped to instantly establish the Heritage as one of Ireland's premier courses.
In addition to the golf course, the resort offers the ‘Natural Golf School', one of only three in the world to be inspired by Seve Ballesteros. The technology and tuition on offer are based on the golfing philosophy of the great Spaniard, so expect to develop your short game, if not your accuracy off the tee!
Multiple major winner Vijay Singh said that, "it was a pleasure to play the Heritage course. The greens were beautiful, and I think everybody is going to enjoy it."
Nestled in the charming village of Killenard, the luxurious hotel overlooks the championship golf course and is guarded by the Slieve Bloom Mountains. Visitors to this 5-star lifestyle resort will feel entirely connected to the surrounding landscape, and also benefit from the top-class accommodation and facilities of the hotel.
Throughout the range of accommodation units, designed to fit the needs of every visitor, the furnishings are of the best standard and ensure absolute comfort. The quality is matched by the superb dining and leisure facilities, and when viewed as a complete package, there are few better destinations for a golf break in Ireland, with the best on offer to all those who visit, whether they are golfers or not.
The Spa is exactly what you would expect from Ireland's premier resort hotel, where more than 70 different treatments are available in the 20 purpose-built rooms in conjunction with Pevonia Botanica, a range of botanical wellness products, found only in the world's most exclusive spas. In addition, the health and fitness centre, which overlooks the golf course, features a 15-metre swimming pool, Jacuzzi, and the latest in fitness technology.
The sumptuous Arlington Restaurant offers fine dining, while the Sol Oriens serves fantastic steaks and Mediterranean dishes.
The Slieve Bloom is the ideal place to curl up next to the fire with a whisky and a good book.

we had a pre-paid dinner and the reception had a problem tracking the payment. Not so good communication about the birthday cake as well. It was supposed to be a surprise for my husband, but it didn't work out. The staff was very unprofessional but otherwise everything was fine. If we paid everything at the hotel, it would probably be easier :-).

The facilities are very impressive and the staff in the pro shop were very welcoming. The members were also welcoming and we spoke to several before our round who were happy to give us some hints and tips - as well as welcoming us to play the course. The course itself is long - but fair. We all agreed it was a fair test and was scorable of playing well - while punishing you if you didn’t. Thankfully we didn’t lose as many balls in the various and numerous water hazards as we suspected we might. Will definitely return to play this course again.

Managed to get out even in bad weather and course stood up to the heavy rain. Would love to play it again. Need to golf your way around vs just smashing driver! Great overall test.

Couldn’t complain about the condition of the course but think it’s far too tough and long off the normal tees, some of the par 4s were unreachable in two after a solid drive. Wouldn’t recommend it to anyone above single digit handicap.

We played this wonderful course on a quiet Wednesday. No hold up and round in buggies in 3.5 hours. Great fun and a good test of golf

First time to play this course and loved it. It was challenging but fair. We had two members who scored 37 points and I was delighted to score 36 playing of 17 so it's doo able. It is a long trek 18,000 steps so if you are not fit you may need to book a buggy. Even more enjoyable to play on the second day when you knew where you were going. Some wonderful par fives
