The architecture and design of the hotel are heavily influenced by the presence of the Seljuks, whose 12th century empire has left a lasting legacy on the region. The Dome is located in one of Belek's most charming corners, and boasts 158 bedrooms, 28 private villas and 43 Lagoon Suites, all featuring marble bathrooms.

There are four restaurants at The Dome; our favourite is the Selçuk, whose regional cuisine shows the local flair and tradition. There are six bars in the hotel, including the Putters Bar, dedicated for golfers.

The rooms are large and well equipped but some of the lights did not work. The seating in the bar areas is too big and I found myself hunting for extra cushions to support my back otherwise you were laying down horizontal! The restaurant food was great but I would not recommend the a la carte as the cost was €25 per head and we found that the food served was available in the buffet restaurant the next night. The house wine was good and seating in the buffet restaurant was better outside as inside was more like a cafe. Plenty of sunbeds around the pool.

The hotel was tired. Our golf view rooms were swapped due to building work outside. We were given side sea view rooms which looked directly into another hotel which also had building work. The rooms were well equipped but the towels were hard and well worn. There was only one a la carte restaurant and the supplement was high at 25euros. The buffet was well supplied and the staff were very helpful. The shuttle bus to the golf courses worked well.

Hotel closing for a refurb, so some of the gripes will doubtless not be relevant when it reopens in March. Aircon iffy. Noise from the building works not pleasant. The restaurant area needed some attention.

Overall a wonderful experience. My only concern was having a rear facing balcony as the hotel did not appear anywhere near full. The front facing balconies had a wonderful view of the sea and pools. I would not take another rear facing room.

2nd year running we have stayed here and once again it was faultless. This time we were staying at one of their villas with its own private pool and it was fantastic, we had the use of a golf buggy to run back and forth to the hotel which is about 1/4 of a mile away, walking distance really, on the one occasion it was wet the concierge at the hotel run us back down to the villa . We shall return.
