2 Nights, 2 Rounds
- 2 Nights Bed and Breakfast at Kingsley Hotel
- 1 Round at Cork Golf Club
- 1 Round at Deerpark Course
2 Nights, 2 Rounds
If your ideal Cork golf break involves a proper round in the morning and a proper wind-down afterwards, The Kingsley is a very safe bet. Set on the banks of the River Lee, this four-star hotel combines an award-winning spa with strong dining and an easy run out to several of the area's best courses.
You're within around 30 minutes of Cork Golf Club, a classic parkland test designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie (yes, the same MacKenzie who helped shape Augusta National with Bobby Jones). For bigger 'wow' factor days, you can head further afield to Old Head Golf Links (around 50 minutes by car) for that cliff-edge, camera-roll-filling experience, or play Fota Island, which has hosted the Irish Open and is a brilliant option for mixed-ability groups.
The real win here is balance. Golfers get convenient access to top courses without spending the week in a car, while non-golfers get a hotel that feels like a destination in its own right. Cork itself offers plenty beyond the first tee. Fota Wildlife Park, Spike Island Prison and the renowned English Market are all close by, giving everyone in your group something to explore between rounds. Add in handy access from Cork Airport (roughly 30 minutes) and you've got a base that works for a long weekend dash or a full week with partners in tow.
The Kingsley's reputation rests on two things: a sensational spa that's collected multiple awards and The Springboard restaurant, which holds an AA Rosette. That combination makes it particularly well suited to mixed groups, where golfers want quality courses within easy reach and non-golfers want more than a poolside afternoon.
Who is this for?
Fourballs and societies who want Cork golf on the doorstep, plus a spa, pool and decent food for the bits between rounds.
Who is it best for?
Mixed groups and couples who like their golf serious but their evenings relaxed, with river views, good dining and a proper thermal suite.

The Kingsley offers a range of accommodation from classic rooms through to luxury suites and a penthouse, all finished to a high standard. Classic rooms come with flat-screen TVs, en-suite bathrooms and, in most cases, views over the River Lee. At the top end, the Penthouse delivers two bedrooms, a jacuzzi on the balcony, an open fire and a dining room that seats up to 12, ideal if you're hosting a small society or celebrating a milestone trip.
Non-golfers have plenty to occupy their time. The spa includes a thermal suite, aromatherapy steam baths, a sauna and a hammam, though it's worth booking treatments in advance. The Health Club offers a gym and an 18-metre swimming pool for those who prefer to stay active.
Dining at The Kingsley revolves around two restaurants, a lounge and a bar. The Springboard is the AA Rosette holder, offering a relaxed, casual atmosphere for dinner. Fairbanks Restaurant sits at the heart of the hotel and delivers a gourmet dining experience. It's also where breakfast is served daily from 6:30 to 10:30am on weekdays and 7 to 11am at weekends. The K Lounge opens from midday to 5pm for afternoon tea and light snacks, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the River Lee, particularly pleasant in summer. Fishers Bar rounds out the options, a cosy spot for a pint of local stout or a nightcap while recounting the day's birdies and bogeys.
Put it this way: you can play quality golf nearby, then come back to a spa session, a swim and a good feed without needing to go anywhere else. Whether you're planning a long weekend with the usual four-ball or a week-long trip with partners in tow, the combination of location, dining and spa makes it a solid choice for a golf break to Cork.
