Old Course, Gloria Resort

No buggies

We were made to walk 9 holes due to overfeeding. This wasn't properly made clear to us when we booked.

Good condition although pace of play a little slow. This is to be expected when playing holiday golf.

Disappointed to be told no buggies on arrival when we were told they would have them.. would never have played there if we knew we were walking

had to play on the verde course as buggies were not allowed on the main course as theyhad reseeded. dissapointing. I have a heart condition so can walk a course in such hot conditions.

This course is quite long - narrow drives for the boys - not so much off the forward tees

Challenging start - first 2 holes.

A solid favourite from the Gloria resort. I think the New is slightly prettier.

Another great place. Probably my favourite setting for dinner.

We had 2 days of thunderstorms which made life difficult but staff did their best to compensate.

Quite a lot of water Tree lined fairways making it a bit tight But very slow rounds over 5hours

Overall speed of play was a little slow and having Marshall’s going round to try and encourage quicker would be good. Pitch marks were a clear problem so again trying to encourage repairing would be good. They even give free pitch repair if you want when you book in. I do appreciate this is hard on both counts to control especially with the different nationalities.

Fairways OK but the greens weren't up to a good standard. Very, very slow round. Won't play here again.

Green were brilliant

A lot of the bunkers were unplayable as the sand hand been washed out by the recent rain. Greens and fairways not as good as Carya and Montgomerie

Very good, the weather helped. Staff can round with drinks & food. Excellent

The group found the old course difficult. Great venue with excellent facilities

5+ hours for a game of golf is painful, tee time started late and again waiting on every shot - spoilt the experience in my opinion

Green conditions were shocking considering the £180 green fee

As far as I was concerned this was the jewel in the crown a very challenging long golf course with lots of water, they put us out as a 3 ball with a delightful Russian lady who was a good golfer and spoke perfect english, a course where hitting it straight was a premium, would love to come back and play again

. The course itself was in very poor condition, the rubbish bins around the course were full and overflowing, and there were fences down and other poorly maintained areas. And the staff were rather surly too, - I appreciate the courses are very busy at this time of year, but I can’t help feeling that more pro-active marshaling would help things move,.

Put onto the Verde nine holes first, which are not as interesting as the original Old Course. Pity we couldn't play the 18 Old Course holes.

A hard course and unfortunately for a championship course both tee boxes and greens were average at best. Also late tee time meant it was almost dark when finishing and play in general was very slow indeed.

The Gloria old is one of my favourite layouts the greens on some holes had been damaged and the bunkers are in poor condition the rest was very good.

this was the hardest course by far lots of very long par 4s 400 yds plus carries over water were also quite long and had to be hit well using a driver if you wanted to make the greens. Very tight tree were in mass abundance and we all managed to remove a branch or two here and there

We felt the condition of the course was not quite as good as the New Course. The staff were very nice and extremely helpful.

Often stuck behind big groups of 8/12

Course staff just wanted to sell golf balls. Bunker had faces collapsed and were full of weeds and hadn’t seen a rake for weeks. Really disappointing

Disappointed we like to go early enough to go to the range and putting green! We were told although we had paid for our buggy we couldn’t have one! Eventually they relented but an upset we did not need

Loved it here. Long, tough & challenging. Good mix of holes. Plenty of water. Fairways were good. Greens were great but with usual pitch mark damage

Course in pretty good nick apart from the greens which showed patches of wear and tear.

Loved the maturity of the course and the umbrella pines lining each side of the fairways.

Was a little disappointed in the conditions of the course, thought being “old course” they would be better but we still enjoyed the day!

For context I manage a Top 100 golf course. For a hotel course, the Old is good fun and very well maintained. this is our third year at Gloria and we will be going again.

This course was flatter but narrower fairways. Once again plenty of water. Needed to have your driving working well. We always walk with a trolley so the refreshments from cart was appreciated. This is a good test of golf. The food and drink at the clubhouse were superb. The practice area is excellent with free Trackman in all the bays.

We had to give a rating but we did not play this course in the end, but changed to Gloria Verdi/Gloria New, on one occasion, and Gloria new again as we liked it so much.

Great place could do enough for you and drinks and food on and off the course was great

A nice tight layout but playable. Tee boxes a little scruffy and greens a little slow but overall pretty good.

Once again the course was great as were the facilities it being part of the same complex Same problem with playing oartners language and ability making it hard to concentrate on our game when look for their balls

Difficult tree lined course need to be on your game . Greens and fairways poor . Think there had been some work done to fairways so prob just bad timing. People need to repair potchmarks , is that a foreign thing . Must have done 10 each on every green

Everything from start to finish was just fabulous. We didn’t know it was all inclusive and so simple. Overall a great experience. 9/10

This is my favourite course. It’s a great course to play and was in great condition. 👍👍👍

The fairways were lined with pine trees and were in lovely condition and wide enough unless one was really wayward. The greens were excellent and much faster than the winter greens in the UK we were used to. The bunkers were not easy but had plenty of sand. My only criticism is that the tees were a bit chewed up. However, the week before had been wet and considering the footfall it was perhaps understandable. We really enjoyed the course and would be happy to play them again.

Really pleasant experience a course that makes you think but navigable. First 6 holes tree lined and some narrow, 7 opens up to the lake area. Really enjoyed the contrast of style.

Everything excellent, and at the risk of repeating myself .... the cost of buggy hire was way too much!

Enjoyable but challenging

The old course is lovely and a great way to finish a tour. The course was in great condition, and we would definitely play here again. Our only criticism of the Gloria courses is that there are not enough buggies to accommodate both courses, and it is a bit of a bunfight if you happen to be playing later in the day. However, the Caddymaster does his best to accommodate everybody.

Shocking experience on our last day! A tough course set up to be harder by tee positions as far back as possible....we were not the only group to complain! Will NEVER play this course again a poor sister course to the 'New'

Though course was in excellent condition was a lot harder than the new Course and therefore players in front were slow in adapting to difficult conditions. One for the best players.

Enjoyed the course. I am used to play at the link course so it was challenging to get used to trees.

Found this course quite tricky. More water to contend with than the New course. Still managed a decent score (twice) which surprised me.My friends enjoyed playing this course also.

Beautiful course but a 5 hour 30 minutes round is less than enjoyable. On 2 of the days there were12 people waiting to play the 2nd hole. Surely this course needs effective Marshalling.

As I lost hated it!!
