The course is now one of only four in Ireland to be honoured with the ‘Royal' title.
Royal Belfast as it is now is based on the 1925 layout conceived by Harry S. Colt, and is set in a fantastic location, with unrivalled views of Belfast Lough and the Antrim plateau above. Arguably the finest hole on the golf course is the 415-yard opening hole, a challenging uphill par-4 which dog-legs to the left.
Royal Belfast is also fortunate to have an amazing clubhouse; built to serve as a private home for a Belfast linen manufacturer in 1852, the magnificent construction has been modernised to serve as a clubhouse, and is one of the luxurious around.
