Galgorm Castle Golf Club is one of Northern Ireland’s finest Championship parklands and most recognised tournament venues. It remains the only parkland course in Northern Ireland to have hosted the Irish Open on the DP World Tour and is the perennial Home of the Northern Ireland Open and the ISPS Handa World Invitational - a tri-sanctioned DP World Tour, LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour event.
"This golf course is magnificent, it really is. If you haven’t been here, it’s a must. If you come to this part of the world to play the great links courses of Northern Ireland, you’ve got to come to Galgorm too,"
(Wayne ‘Radar’ Riley, Sky Sports Golf).
Simon Gidman designed the par-72 layout in 1997, nestled in the heart of the 220-acre historic Galgorm Castle Estate, it provides a mature setting that promotes an easy, relaxing rhythm that makes playing golf so pleasurable. The 17th century castle is visible from the 10th green and is one of finest examples of Jacobean architecture on the island.
"The long drive into the Estate shows off one of the best holes, the 10th - wild, spacious and enthralling…the course undulates gently so it feels like a pleasant walk, which makes golf all the more enjoyable"
(Kevin Markham, Golf Photographer and Writer).
Golfers can stay at Galgorm, Northern Ireland’s Premier luxury Hotel and Spa which is set in over 400 acres of lush parkland with the spectacular River Maine flowing through the estate, Galgorm has a truly unique setting.

The course is bordered by the rivers Maine and Braid which come into play on numerous holes with the Braid joining the Maine behind the 14th tee box, flowing onwards to Lough Neagh. There are also five lakes throughout the parkland and the magnificent oxbow of the Braid adjacent to the 4th green and 15th teeing areas - home to the resident Otter.
“To have one river bordering a golf course is something special but to have two is truly exceptional. Along with many fine parkland trees and a Jacobean Castle in the centre of the estate made for an outstanding basis for a golf course”
(Simon Gidman, Course Architect).
A variety of teeing areas provide an exciting and enjoyable challenge for golfers of all abilities and not just tournament professionals, although the course stretches to almost 7,300 yards and plays as a par-70 from the championship tees.
“This might be one of the toughest courses I’ve played on the European Tour,”
(2019 Open champion Shane Lowry, during the 2020 Irish Open).
After your round, enjoy the surroundings of the Castle Kitchen + Bar and its adjoining Walled Garden and Castle Barn; one of Ireland’s most vibrant and modern clubhouses.
The Academy incorporates a 6-hole pitch and putt course, a floodlit driving range with 18 covered and six open bays plus a short game area where the team of PGA Professionals offer comprehensive practice and teaching facilities for beginners through to experienced and elite players.

Beautiful golf course our second favourite but very slow and we had to miss the last two holes due to heavy rain which we would have missed if not for a almost five hour round. Having said that beautiful course fabulous practice facilities great pro shop. Great eating facilities probably the friendliest

This is a very decent parkland course, which I appreciated the subtleties more second time round. Water is a regular hazard and it is well bunkered. Condition was excellent including the greens. The course is a definite challenge of the white tees. Staff in the pro shop were very helpful and friendly as they were in the bar and restaurant area (also one of the hotel’s dining options in the evening) The course is a 7-8 minute drive from the hotel - with a courtesy car available to take you down whenever needed.

Lovely parkland setting, bit showery on the day, lots of water, trees and bunkers make it a hard course but great fun.
