Poor hotel, in a very poor area. Overlooking the main strip in Playa de los Americas. Loud music until half 5 in the morning. Open drug dealing, and prostitution. Would not recommend. Very intimidating area.
Hotel absolutely fine, a little noisy in the evening due to location, but can’t complain as I was aware it was close to the night life. Room cleaned everyday and staff pleasant. Breakfast was fine and plenty to choose from.
Great location, breakfast was much better than I thought, great choice and everything was cooked well. Hotel was clean and tidy and the staff were very helpful.
Sol Tenerife is probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The hotel staff were average, the rooms were adequate but very dated, and the breakfast buffet was inedible to the extent that we ate out every day at our own expense (poor quality juice, eggs not made to order, processed meats, awful coffee etc etc) and that was the view of all four of us travelling. The hotel is nowhere near the 4 star advertised - it is plagued with young adults from 18 upwards, permanently intoxicated or in other substances, and the hotel is located directly above numerous bars and outside venues that blast very loud music until 4.00-5.00am EVERY night to the extent that even with the balcony door closed it is impossible to get any quality sleep. We certainly won’t be returning.
Probably the worst hotel i have ever stayed in. The reception check in took us over 90 minutes to check in 4 rooms. All details of room pairings were advised in advance. The standard of food at breakfast was terrible, the rooms were old, small, fridge in the room smelt terrible and there were bugs in the rooms. This lead us to leaving the hotel the following morning and finding alternartive accomodation. If i had known it was an 18-30's hotel that was likely last maintained in the 1990's i would never have agreed to stay there. I have booked numerous trips with YGT, so i would have thought that they would have known what the standard of accommodation that i would find acceptable.
Hotel a little tired but the staff were great. Breakfast offered all the usual fare, but always with some nice touches - their cold hams and cheeses were delicious. My son was a huge fan of their pastries! location was ideal, right in the centre of Las Americas and close enough to the courses we'd been booked to play.
The room and breakfast were good. However the noise from outside impacted on our sleep as the noise did not stop until 6 am ( from the nightclubs and the playing of very loud music). Also we were not impressed that you were provided with a token on checking in to obtain a plastic cup that was to be used for all drinks in the hotel ( from coffee through to beer wine etc). We chose to drink in some lovely bars on the sea front. Having never been to tenerife we were not aware of any of the locations. Overall it was ok but would definitely not stay there again.
Hotel was very basic, the staff that checked us in wasn’t very friendly at all and didn’t give us a warm welcome. The food for breakfast and evening meal was very good and plenty of choice but the snack bar during the day as absolutely dreadful. The hotel is based right next to Veronica’s strip so you’ve got music going on until the early hours which is very loud. All in all great location to go out and about but not the best of hotels
The hotel is located right on the tip of the strip of bars that are open all night, if you don't want to sleep, it's a brilliant location. We arrived early and had to wait till 3 to check-in, after 4.30pm we were still waiting for our rooms to be ready. The pools are small and a bit grubby, not too many beds but plenty of seating. From the pool you can get straight onto the coast road, which is nice. The restaurant/snack bar are open covering most hours of the day, food was nothing to shout about but did the job. The transfers were prompt, if you want a taxi they arrive almost instantly. The return transfer was the only 1 that spoilt it, an E-class Mercedes turned up to take 4 passengers with cases and golf bags to the airport, we had to squeeze into the car with suitcases on our laps for the journey! If I was to go back to Tenerife, I'd stay somewhere else, away from Las Americas.
The noise from surrounding bars until 6am is a serious issue and it’s not acceptable that YourGolfTravel did not offer any indication of this fact before booking.
Great mid value hotel in good location. Sea front with access to all night life with some late noise. All inclusive had the benefit of drink although we missed lunch three times due to golf. But on balance still great value
Hotel satisfied our needs although would not stay again because of the noise outside from Veronica’s bar etc until 3.am!
Overall I would rate this hotel at about 2*. Facilities are limited and when we were there the pool was out of action. The restaurant was more of a canteen but food was edible and plentiful. The room was clean and well maintained but not very large and the balcony was tiny. Finding the hotel for anyone with a hire car is extremely difficult as the entrance is not sign posted at all and neither does the hotel have any signs to say that it is Sol Tenerife except the sign on the roof, it was only a lucky guess that we eventually found it.
