The Vale Resort

Whilst the hotel is large it’s very clean, comfortable & feels really friendly & welcoming. The evening meal was superb!

hotel itself was very good, rooms clean the only issue was getting into the shower as it was to deep to get into, hardly any handles to hold onto to stop you slipping over.

Fantastic hotel, could not fault the hotel. Staff are so friendly, buffet food was great on all three nights. Rooms are nice and clean. This is our second time staying here and we will return again.

A great hotel with great food and staff. Ideally breakfast could start earlier incase of an early tee time but brilliant regardless.

Nice spacious rooms spa and pool good,spa area would fill up quickly. Good location food was also pretty good. No complaints regarding the hotel.

Buffet breakfast tasty but at best like warm if your early. Buffet dinner but hit and miss. First night was awful and stone cold. Second night still not what you would call hot but very tasty. Didn’t seem to be an extractor in the bathrooms or, if there was, no idea where the switch was.

Lovely hotel, very nice rooms with air conditioning. In the most part all the staff were friendly and helpful. Unfortunately when it came to the evening meal the waiter was not great, took our order and we didn't see him again until over am hour later. No explanation on the hold up on the food, that was poor customer service and the only blemish on an otherwise excellent stay at the hotel. Dinner and breakfast were both very good.

Just returned from a brilliant golf break at the Vale Resort. The food was top quality across the board, with a solid range of beers to match. Staff in both the bar and pro shop were friendly, helpful, and added to the whole experience. Loved the setup with the driving range right next to the bar — perfect for a warm-up pint and a few swings. Rooms were spacious, clean, and well-equipped with air con, which was a real bonus. Highly recommend for a relaxed and well-run golf trip. Buggies are a must. Be sure to pre-book.

Overall an excellent stay the staff were very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. Food quality very good and particularly liked the buffet style evening meals in the clubhouse and good selection for breakfast in the hotel. The only issue was the lack of super fast car chargers ( informed prior to trip there were 5) only 2 on site and neither working properly ☹️Were informed fast charge available at Tescos about 5 miles away although on arrival found that to be slow charge and not appropriate ☹️Hotel did say they were looking at replacing chargers on site which would make a lot of sense given number of electric vehicles now in use

Quality venue which we have visited for last two years for our Lads golf weekend. Highly recommend.

excellant quality rooms

Hotel and room were lovely. Unfortunately we were not allowed to eat in the restaurant as we were a group of 16 ladies and we had to eat in the clubhouse. It was very disappointing and poor quality.

A lot of money was obviously spent recently in upgrading the complex. I hadn't been for 20 years and it was vastly improved. Rooms, restaurants all upgraded.

Fantastic hotel seamless check in friendly staff. One downside is there was a wedding the weekend of our stay meaning loud music which could be heard throughout the hotel well past midnight. The room we stayed in 240 it was particularly loud which meant we were not able to get to sleep till past one. Not ideal when we had an early tee off. Would have been nice to be aware of this when booking in.

Unfortunately we had to move rooms as we added an extra night the hotel forgot and half way through we had to move rooms which was an inconvenience.

Hotel l, staff and facilities were great. Evening meal……the main meals came with no sides, so you had to pay extra for chips, etc. so the overall price you pay for the trip isn’t inclusive of this. Would have been nice to been told this.

Included dinner was fabulous. Either a set menu or £30 allowance from the main menu. Drink prices were very sensible. Breakfast was a buffet but regularly restocked.

The buffet dinner was poor, first night we were the last group to eat, starters ran out as did the rice for the curry, when we asked for more, we were told it was all gone!

Cannot fault this hotel. Clean and tidy. Options for evening meals were well catered for everyone. The quality of our evening meal and the buffet breakfast were spot on. Cannot complain at all. Value for money!

Beautiful hotel, food was excellent, and the staff were really friendly.

Hotel as usual very good for accommodation and facilities however, having visited four years ago the food provided was very poor. Always was spot on eating in main hotel restaurant with usually five options for starters, mains and desert. This visit we were dumped into the sport bar restaurant which provided very basic buffet style starter, carvery main and some sliced cake for desert. Second night was curry starter, curry main and slices of cake for desert. very poor with no choices. They did provide a basic chicken breast for one who could not eat curry. Unfortunately, this will be our last visit based on food alone.

Package golf tour arranged for 12 golfers. Hotel ok, leisure facilities good but a bit tired, rooms a bit dated but ok and service all ok. Food good (breakfast excellent) but the resort doesn’t seem to allow golf groups for dinner in the main restaurant. For similar hotel-golf breaks, the Warwickshire is similar and the Forest of Arden (much batter main course) and Hanbury Manor (excellent hotel and better main course) are better. Our group would not return.

Lovely hotel and really nice food for being part of a golf package. We could have paid more for Al la Carte menu but didn't feel we needed to. Room was huge with 2 big single beds. Will definately be back!

Excellent stay-very well looked after

When we arrived it was a bit chaotic they didn’t have the names on the rooms which meant us sorting it out for about 30 minutes.

This resort is tired and needs an update. The room was not very clean and the service at dinner was slow. The staff were friendly and the food was good, as was breakfast. However the hotel itself was not up to a 4* standard.

The rooms were nice but as you walk into the hotel it’s very underwhelming. It almost makes you question whether you are in the right place. The hotel staff were ok, the pro shop staff were poor, not a welcoming experience at all. For a golf resort I expected much more, especially given Celtic Manor is 20 minutes away. The restaurant food was fine but the choice not great. The supplementary cheese board is 3 big wedges of cheese and 3 cheese crackers, disappointing! The one positive thing I can say is the breakfast was good.

Excellent service throughout our stay from check in to the bars and restaurants. Room was very comfortable and clean. The food at the grill was superb quality and great value with our golf package.

Superb quality throughout

Although wet throughout the Sunday the course was playable for our matchplay event. I made everything placing through the green. The Pro Shop were very helpful throughout the 2 days The hotel system crashed which caused some issues but reception were very helpful No issues with room or food, except Sunday night where food was delayed due to numbers they were catering for. Quality of food was not a problem.

Check in very slow due to one receptionist on duty. Food was only okay and drink are extortionate prices.

Unfortunately the fire alarm went off at 3 a.m so didn't sleep too well.

We were staying for 1 night, 2 rounds for our Lady Captains Away Weekend. Having played golf Sunday afternoon when we went to check in there was only 1 staff member checking in and there was a large queue, so it took forever. I sent a full rooming list to YGT but the hotel had no idea of our groups names. Unfortunately we had 2 fire alarms at 03.00 & then 03.30 which of course resulted in a very disturbed night. There was no information provided by the staff as to the cause of these or any apology in the morning for the inconvenience.

Fantastic hospitality

Pleasantly surprised by a very large hotel room and full bathroom suite, could easily spend many nights in this hotel. The staff, particularly the reception staff, are super friendly and efficient. Would return without hesitation.

Very large impersonal hotel ,car park completely full on arrival,very friendly staff but quality & selection of choice for evening meal very unsatisfactory.Golf club bar shut on our second day due to rookf leak following very heavy rain storm. Room comfortable.Difficult to park car within walking distance of hotel!

Upgraded to an Executive Room with a balcony over looking the golf course. The room was very comfortable and well decorated. We ate in both the restaurant and bar area for the three nights we stayed there. Overall the food was ok, breakfast however was very good with plenty of choice. What is so good about the hotel is its proximity to both first holes on the two golf courses. All the staff in the golf Pro Shop were very helpful as was the course Marshall who put us off earlier in front of several four balls that were teeing off.

Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Vale and will definitely be visiting the Vale again. The room was comfortable and fairly well appointed, although additional power sockets especially by the beds would have helped. The beds were large singles and the bathroom had a good shower with plenty of water pressure and room. There was plenty of free parking available, all the communal areas and facilities were clean and well maintained. The bar and restaurants were reasonably priced and the food was of good quality and presented well. The staff at the hotel and golf club were superb and made our stay more enjoyable, thank you.

The staff were always friendly and although there was a bit of uncrossed communication with regards to the room allocations, it was sorted out.

Stayed dinner bed and breakfast. Staff were excellent and food very good. Ordered off the set menu both nights. Good quality breakfast. Only negatives are that the main bar is extremely dark and dull and the drinks were very expensive. Room was nice, clean and a very comfortable bed. Nice place, but a bit bland to warrant a return visit.

A fantastic resort, two superb golf courses, great accommodation and very friendly staff.

All was fine with the glaring exception of our dinner in La Cucina. The food here was very poor and in many cases cold to the point that some meals had to be returned. The ambience and staff were also sub-par. Our paperwork said that we were due to dine in the Vale Grill which we did on the second night only. Here all was much better with the exception of the fish dishes which were overcooked.

Overall very satisfied. Would like nicer coffee at breakfast which is a minor point

The rooms were large and very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner took longer than expected. I think that they are short of staff. The atmosphere in the main bar/saloon would be better with some background music. Both bars seemed a little sterile with no music to break things up. Overall our stay in the hotel was very good.

Dry accommodating second time we have been first time it rained not an issue to take trolleys and clubs to rooms to dry out before the next day

The hotel and resort, was better than I had expected. The rooms are a bigger than I thought they would be, and very comfortable beds. The food was absolutely fantastic. Cooked to order.

Lovely hotel with large spacious rooms. Good restaurant but my only concern was how long it took to get served. It wasn’t busy but for a booking at 8.30 pm we we served dessert at 10.30! Had to keep asking to get staff to take orders for next course.

The Hotel was dated but still gave a very good account of itself. The rooms were fairly standard and could of done with a deep clean especially bathroom. Bed and other facilities in room were basic but adequate.

The accommodation was as expected. Comfortable, clean with good size rooms. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and very varied and the food at the evening meal was nice but the service very slow. We booked for 7.30pm and didn’t leave until 9.45. While it was a leisurely meal we did have to remind the staff about our desserts as they were busy washing the kitchen floor!

Great hotel with amazing food. Very friendly and attentive staff who were always on hand if ever needed Only 1 issue and that was unfortunately some kind of water or drainage issue whilst we were staying for the weekend so the bath in the room was producing a dirty yellow water which wasn’t nice especially when you can do with a good soak after a long round of golf.

The hotel was very comfortable, the rooms were clean and it made for a perfect stay for our golfing trip. The food was decent. My only small gripe was that there wasn’t much of an atmosphere that in the bars (no music). But there were 16 of us so we made our own fun.

Great hotel and ideal location. Only downside was noisy weddings on both days - the acoustics of the hotel foyer are poor which leads to a swimming pool like echoing sound of kids shouting or on the following day a band singing. Invest in account if panels please!

Hotel is v Nice and staff efficient...restaurant is excellent tho not v big but choice on our package was superb and the quality was excellent...highly recommend eating at the hotel..tho the chicken ceasar wrap was v dry.

We have been there many times before, and we are always completely satisfied, that’s why we keep going back. We were on the second floor near the lift, so it could be I little noisy, but not too bad.

Really comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Food was more than adequate, the breakfast was excellent. Although the Vale is in the middle of nowhere, the drink prices were very reasonable. My only criticism is the billing for extras for dinner. We were a large group of 24 and there was not a facility to charge the extra's to your room. It was a bit of a pain working out who owed what. Nevertheless it did not spoil a ver enjoyable tour!

This is an upmarket hotel with a touch of class. The food, accommodation and service/staff are of superb quality and I know we will be going back.

Excellent. Clean, bright and welcoming. Four stars instead of five because in 2022 I think it fair to expect a USB socket in the room! I had to charge my phone in the car. Otherwise the facilities and staff were faultless.

The Hotel was full so the meal arrangements were very prescriptive. Catering was OK, with waits understandable. staff were very considerate, putting our table away from noisy societies. The staff were very helpful, welcoming and polite. The rooms were well equipped and clean towels were delivered when not expected. The Clubhouse menu is quite restrictive and very slow to deliver orders. Our party thought that £40 was a little expensive for a buggy when the technology was faulty.

Real nice place and the resort has everything. Our only issue was we had pretty much the same menu for both nights stay. Otherwise couldn’t fault the place. Staff where excellent, courses courses where challenging and the resort had everything you needed. Would we go back again? Yes we would. Baring in mind this was for 36 people and I speak for them all.

Amazing food and rooms with a great view.

Very comfortable stay at the hotel, it's quiet, there are good facilities and the food is good. It's feels a bit soulless and more of a hotel geared to corporate events, but if you're there for the golf, it doesn't really matter. The main bar is a bit odd - the outside tables are nice, but inside if feels like you're drinking in a large thoroughfare running through the hotel - which you are.

We arrive in time for our check in, but until 3:40pm the room was not available and the staff only told us that the room is not ready. I understand that last weekend is one of busiest weekend during the year. However they should at least explain what is the problem with our room. All others were checked in without any delay even before 3pm

We had an excellent two day golf break. Hotel and food was excellent. My only criticism was that we felt the bar and restaurant were a bit cold.

Great complex rooms really spacious and comfortable

Excellent value for money. The rooms were very comfortable with a very comfy bed and also tea and coffee available. The restaurant food was very good quality with very good service. My only disappointment was that when we finished golf on both days the snack restaurant had no food (sandwiches etc) or nibbles available!

My husband and 17 friends had an overnight golf deal here and they loved it! I booked it through Your Golf and had great customer service, especially when the original date had to be cancelled through Covid. They said the deal was great and they would return.

2nd trip to the Vale Resort; two day break, staff are friendly. Evening meal (included in cost of trip) good menu and the food was enjoyed by all however they should get rid of the supplements. Buffet breakfast variety to suit all tastes. Rooms were clean and spacious. great value

Lovely room well appointed. Staff were helpful and the food very good. We ate in the clubhouse bar with other golf groups. We had to pre order on arrival and it would have been nice to be told this in advance. One issue with the clubhouse bar was that there was no lunchtime chef so no food available so had to use the main hotel bar.

Accommodation was good but the restaurant and bar was very disappointing.a 4 star hotel with limited staff and facilities meant that the service was slow. Food was excellent breakfast excellent.

A fab location and two great courses to play, have been here a few times and would always recommend the Vale.

Everything was very good and all staff very helpful , only thing that I would change ( and the bar staff I asked agreed with me ) would be the drinks tokens for some reason you could only buy certain drinks with them ie :- no spirits and in the clubhouse restaurant one member of our party tried to get a bottle of red wine and was told he could only get small glasses with the tokens ( just seems crazy when your putting them behind the bar anyway ).. but a good time was had

The overall experience is one that we all will do again

Very friendly and relax atmosphere. Only complaint was the breakfast it was disappointing cooked breakfast was cold did mention it to staff. They apologized but it was the same the next morning.

We had a very good stay, due to our tee times we did not have time to use the spa area. The bar area did not have the comfort area we were expecting.

All great except the very slow and limited service in the golf bar restaurant, no one driving the staff who in the main we very gracious and helpful, some people were waiting over a hour for drinks etc and cancelled, obviously the hotel is losing takings and you would think they would be all out to increase their turnover due to COVID restrictions over the last year, bafflingly odd !

For a lovely hotel your standard room is not the best you don’t have no fridge in so no cold drinks which was not good when it is very hot you have to upgrade just a nice room with the fridge not good.the staff are lovely the food was amazing the ground was amazing my husband said the golf course was amazing it was just a pity that you have such a lovely hotel with all the facilities great but your room is not that great unless you have a bigger room.

from start to finish the whole experience was superb the staff were obliging in every aspect nothing was too much trouble.The quality of the hotel i.e rooms,restaurants,bedrooms,bars golfshop,and snack bar.I would highly recommend a stay at this hotel

The hotel itself was great, room spacious and comfortable, room change for one member of the party handled very well by reception. While hotel spotless with excellent facilities including fabulous spa where the staff could not do enough for you. However despite excellent quality food the bar and restaurant leave a lot to be desired for a hotel this good. The bar can only be described as chaos, it took 15 minutes for a drinks order to be taken then 15-30 minutes for the drinks to arrive, these were then poorly presented ie no ice/slice wrong style glasses etc. The first night we went down for pre dinner drinks and did not get them until we were sitting at our dinner table ordering. The restaurant was the same, although we were lucky that our bookings made by your golf travel were all successful we noticed several parties turned away as the restaurant said there bookings which had been made did not exist. There were long waits between courses, with little explanation what appeared to be very inexperienced junior waiters and waitresses running around doing their best but with no obvious manager to co ordinate, we appreciate COVID is causing staffing problems but in the only restaurant that is open in a hotel this size there should be a visible manager organising staff and dealing with problems. Strangely the breakfast service was much better. Overall we had a great stay and would highly rate the hotel the restaurant and bar just need to improve their service

The room was very nice although there were people partying until 1.15am which spoilt it. It was a Monday night and I was surprised how thin the walls were. Food choices on evening menu were poor as was the service. The steak had an extra charge and was definitely not worth it. Disappointing

Although everything about the venue was perfect and the staff were very friendly the service in the bars was absolutely shocking waiting 45 minutes for drinks then only half the drinks being served and confusion with payment eg trying to charge £49 for 3 pints? I don’t blame the staff I blame the system that’s being used, pen and paper, in this day of age, and lack of leadership

I just wanted to let you know about our golf break experience at the Vale Resort this weekend. The whole weekend started off really well, the golf on Saturday was fantastic on the Lakes course. We finished our golf and then checked in. Our dinner time was at 7.30 but they allowed us to push it back to 8.30pm. When we got up to the club house, we asked why we weren't down in the restaurant, to which we were told, golf breaks always come up here as they are too rowdy and we always get complaints from families and other people staying in the hotel. To be branded with the same brush so early on wasn't great and we felt upset by that. We were just four blokes there to enjoy the weekend. The menu choice wasn't great, being a four star hotel it felt limited. There was also a £5 supplement for one of the choices. Our starters came out and my friend ordered the seafood salad and it was stone cold, when the waitress checked back to clear our plates, my friend asked, ``Was that meant to be so cold", the reply was "what do you expect, seafood is cold!". So we felt a little upset by that answer. Our mains came out and we asked if we could have a portion of chips as an extra, the waitress went back to the chef and asked, outloud we heard " if they want chips go to the other bar!" Again that wasn't the answer we were looking for, again that was rude and very unwelcoming. We were rushed through our dinner, where we were literally in and out in 30 mins max for a three course meal. The next day, we had our tee off time on the main course, we turned up and there was a golf society on the 1st tee. The course marshall then asked our group name, to which we replied. They had let some of the society off in front of us. We were then told we can tee up and go, this meant we were playing in between them. The golf took forever as we were held up on every hole and every shot, our round took over 5 hours. As you can imagine this wasn't great and as golfers we shouldn't have to wait on every tee and every shot. We came away from your resort feeling very deflated. I have to say, we've been looking forward to playing and staying at your hotel for a long time. It's not every day you get to play a European Tour event course and stay in a four star hotel. All in all I wanted to share with you our experiences this weekend so mistakes like that wont happen again. We paid a good sum of money for a poor experience I'm afraid. My wife has stayed at your hotel many times, and she spoke so highly of your hotel and restaurant and that was a real pull for us in booking your hotel and golf. I called the Vale and emailed the manager but there has been no response at all.

Hotel is great, we were given a huge room with a balcony overlooking the 18th green of the lakes course so couldn’t ask for better. Food was amazing, we had the 3 course evening meal package. We stayed for two nights and there was a different menu for both nights. Breakfast was also included in the package, lovely buffet breakfast where you could get as much as you like. In some of these golf resorts they tend to sting you on the price of drinks, not here tho as it’s very reasonable… £7.30 for a pint of lager and a coffee. The staff couldn’t be more helpful, I got there and wanted to change the times of everything and they did everything I asked without any issue at all.

Had to request different pillows as they were very lumpy which made it difficult to sleep. There were some very rowdy groups of men in the hotel which made our stay less enjoyable, so much so that we could not hear ourselves speak in the restaurant. There was a lot of swearing which we did not expect in this hotel. The management did speak to them but it did not seem to make much of a difference.

The hotel is great, the rooms are set up perfectly for a golf tour and the breakfast and bar in the main hotel are great. Unfortunately the Clubhouse service was absolutely dreadful and we ended up giving up and going to the main hotel.

This is a great base for a golf trip with a good pool and spa facilities. Rooms a little dated but comfortable. Staff, particularly in the golf clubhouse were very welcoming and looked after us well.

In a strange world that we live in today, I checked in to the hotel, planned my meal times for dinner and breakfast with the front desk and was well informed about how things will be done at the hotel. The staff were great, food very excellent, and the room was very comfortable. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend this hotel.

Not the warmest hotel in the world but the staff are incredibly welcoming in the hotel. Food is good, not fantastic but service is prompt reliable and friendly. Lakes course is not great, poorly designed and maintained but the National course is fantastic and well worth a visit

The room was lovely and really enjoyed the breakfast but our evening meal was not so good , a lack of choice and quality for the subsidy paid.

Very tidy and clean staff polite. Disappointed we had to dine in the golf clubhouse we were expecting to be in the main dinning room as in previous years. The impression was they did not want groups of male golfers in the restaurant.

As ever the rooms are generous, clean and well equipped. I did ask for a wake-up call which didn't come. The food was cooked and served well on the 3 course menu with good choice and breakfast was comprehensive. Staff were attentive but by 8.30pm staff number dropped. The main complaint was that the larger societies in the restaurant were very noisy, and despite complaining, as it was difficult to hold a conversation, the staff member did not have the command to ask them to quieten down. We did leave a complaint on booking out, and, as expected, the staff said that she would report it to the Duty Manager... all too late. The staff and food at the Clubhouse were also good.

The three course meal & food were outstanding. Rooms perfect & staff so friendly. Would not hesitate in going back.

This has to be the best kept secret in the UK. The staff were very professional,nothing was too much trouble, the food was well above average quality and excellent value. The only let down was the outdated bar. Spotless room with a view over the lakes course from a balcony. WiFi was intermittent probably due to large outage.room facilities were very good.our third visit and never had a bad one.

hotel and rooms are really comfortable and beautifully located. Bathroom is fully equipped, clean and comfortable as well. When you book an early round of golf in the weekend be advised that breakfast starts later than during the week.

Hotel in general was superb. Unfortunately the restaurant and bar staff are very unhelpful and on or last night they decided to close the bar at 1015pm. Found that very strange as we hadn’t even finished dinner so drinks were not available at the table.

Our expectations were exceeded, the room was extremely spacious and comfortable. Our dining experience was really good in the evening. Breakfast was a really nice start to the day. I particularly liked the chef on hand ensuring the food was topped up and freshly cooked were required.

Cannot fault a single thing during our stay at The Vale Resort, extremely happy and a very satisfied customer. Will be returning again 100%

Traveled over the Easter weekend, weather was fantastic which definitely help make the long weekend The hotel is one of the best we’ve been to - room size is very good for people sharing and the decor is fresh and modern The gym and spa areas are also good, and we didn’t have a problem booking treatments even though the hotel was quite busy and we where a group of 33 Both golf courses are worth playing - the National is a long demanding course, buggy’s required unless your up for a stiff walk The Lakes course is very picturesque, considerably shorter but still worth playing - plenty of water and elevation changes All in all we where very impressed with the courses, facilities, food, service and one of the best resort pro shops we’ve encountered Will definitely be returning !!

Four of us having been going to the Vale for the last 6 years. So the hotel side was a little disappointing this year. Our booking included a £10 drinks voucher for each of us. The hotel said they knew nothing of this so had to fight to get it. The two rooms where in the main part of the hotel and where not as good as the ones normally given to golfers. The dinner menu is now very limited and had to pay extra £5 extra for a steak and another £2.95 if you wanted a sauce.

Had an overnight stay arranged with John Paul. No issues what so ever. Tee times were perfect and all of the details were immediately available to front desk staff at hotel, dinner bookings and room book in were very efficient. Thank you JP and your golf travel!

Superb room, great cooked breakfast, welcoming staff and more than enough bars!

As a resort - it was okay. Perhaps a tad bit on the stale side, there were more couples on romantic weekends than chaps on a golf weekends. Bars are a bit "functional" for my liking. As a comparison, I thought St Pierre resort in Chepstow is a better all-round venue for golfers. Rooms were pretty decent. The quality of the food was outstanding - far and away the best food we've had on a golf weekend. And probably the best pint of Guinness I've tasted in a long time as well. Overall score - reasonable. Good value for money. I'd probably return at a warmer time of year. As an added bonus, it was nice bumping into a few lads from the Welsh Rugby squad who were training at the resort.

Great golfers break, and the deal was exceptional for the price.

Lovely Hotel, good food, great facilities, very clean and tidy. Everything worked as it should. We got lucky and had a room overlooking 9th, 18th greens and 10th hole. We paid extra for the steak and it was worth the £5.00 supplement.

We have just returned from our first hosting of a company event at The Vale Resort, organised by Your Golf Travel. On behalf of Corr Recruitment we would like to extend our sincere thanks to YGT for a superb weekend which was flawless in every detail...apart from our golf of course! From the pre-event organising, arrival welcome and all the way through to the final 19th hole cold beverage on the last day, the weekend went very smoothly and the service at The Vale was superb throughout.

A particular mention to the clubhouse Bar Manager Ann, who looked after us all weekend and was impeccable with her customer service.

There was a distinct lack of active wildlife during the weekend, very few birdies or eagles were seen, however the makers of any branded ball did exceptionally well and have probably seen profits rise in the last 4 days!

In fact the only endangered animal would have been the poor ducks relaxing on the water that seemed to encroach on many of the holes and unsociably destroy a potential sub 70 round!

Thank you again for everything you’ve done to make our weekend as enjoyable as it was and we look forward to booking our next event with you soon.

Most of the scores I would give are 9/10. Bar prices etc are what you would expect from a hotel of this standard. 

The National course is long and would suit the more competent golfer in my opinion. 

The only issue we had with the whole trip is that we had two double rooms and two twins instead of the four twins.

Apart from that it was very good indeed.

Having just returned from two days of golf at the Vale Resort, I can report there are two great courses, both in good condition, and with very welcoming staff throughout.

The hotel rooms, food and leisure facilities are all fantastic too.

This golf break was great value for money and we will return.

We returned from our golf trip to The Vale Hotel, Golf & Spa Resort just over a week ago and the fact that we are already planning a return trip in September (hopefully with larger numbers) should tell you how much our group enjoyed it.

We have a mixed range of abilities amongst our group (between 6 and 25 h’caps) and there is no doubt that for mid to high handicappers both courses are very difficult, with plenty of water, plenty of trees and plenty of blind shots. However, they are also very enjoyable and the conditioning of both courses is fantastic.

The service at the hotel was exceptional and they literally couldn’t do enough for you. One of our group (that would be me!) managed to leave his phone charger in the room on departure. A couple of days later whilst still deciding whether it would be worth the hassle to contact the hotel to get it back, the postman knocked on the door with said phone charger. Great stuff!

The food was great and the room was fantastic. I’m sure they don’t all have great views but mine had a balcony overlooking the 18th green which was great. 

The price of a pint was expensive as were snacks if you wanted them, but having visited similar establishments, this was no more expensive than the norm.

As always Yourgolftravel provided a great service and after just getting back from our 4th trip organised by them, I can guarantee a 5th will be following shortly.

We had an enjoyable golf trip to The Vale where everything was first class except the weather with rain on day 1 and a washout on day 3!

It was disappointing that the weather put a dampener on the visit but that cannot be controlled. We still enjoyed the two rounds though.

Otherwise everything was as expected - ease of booking, check-in, accommodation, food, pro shop, golf courses and service all of high standard.

Apart from the weather, the only negative was that on the first day buggies were not available for our 13:15 start as these had not been returned by the morning players. They were brought out to us as we reached the 2nd green though.

We had a bonus in that the British & Irish Lions squad and coaches booked into the hotel on our second night!

The golf courses at The Vale are in excellent condition, each offering a different test. The Lakes Course is shorter but accuracy is the key, whereas the National Course is much longer than your average course, but with some really interesting holes. Our 3 ball of 15-18 handicappers all shot sub 100 which really felt like an achievement!!

The Hotel is excellent too. Food in the Grill was of a high standard and the Health Club is a great facility. Members of staff are friendly and helpful.

Overall we’d give the trip a 9/10 - A great way to spend my birthday celebration and will definitely think about returning in the near future.

We travelled to the Vale Resort over the Easter break (a group of four with handicaps between 21 and 28) and what a great venue it turned out to be. The resort has two golf courses; The Lakes and Wales National. Both were challenging, even off the yellow tees we played off. Beautifully presented with fast greens, blind brows and doglegs, as well as stunning scenery, both courses were a joy to play. The length, water and sand made things tough for our handicap range but it was very rewarding when you played well! The only negative worth mentioning was that the half way huts were mediocre for golf courses of this standard. Not a big issue. 

One key tip – do buy the course guides (£5 each) to give you a clue as to how to play the hole whilst on the tees for the first time.

The clubhouse was great, with friendly staff and beers costing approx £4 a pint. A decent bar menu was available too.

We also used the driving range and practise putting greens which met expectations.

The hotel, its rooms and the members of staff were as you would expect for a four star establishment. The a la carte grill was a great place to eat in the evening and the breakfast buffet really hit the spot with all types of breakfast available.

This was the first time I've booked a golf holiday for a group. YGT made the process easy even when we changed dates and added a person very late. Even before we settled on the Vale Resort, YGT came up with a series of very suitable options for our dates, budget and preferences. I was surprised how much effort they put in to getting it right for us.

In the end it was a near perfect trip so 9/10 is fair. We would certainly consider The Vale again and I've already recommended YGT to friends.

The golf courses at The Vale were both very good layouts. The conditioning on both was very good; the National greens had been hollow tined before our last round but the green staff had done a good job and they continued to run pretty well. The National is a tough course...not for beginners I would suggest! Overall, the courses at The Vale were, in my opinion, better than other complex's I have been to including Tracy Park, Carden Park and Celtic Manor (exc 20 10).

The staff at the Clubhouse were very good and very welcoming. 

The hotel rooms were excellent too; of a very good size, with large TV and an excellent shower...again better than other such resorts.

If there was a disappointment about the golf break, the meals were it. The lunchtime bar meals were fine but the meals on the whole were not as good as other places mentioned above.

Overall, The Vale offers excellent value for money.

Apart from the shocking weather, our trip to The Vale was excellent. The staff at the hotel and the golf complex were very amenable and made our stay very enjoyable. The meals at the hotel were far better than we expected too and we would certainly recommend this resort to friends, but perhaps in the summer.

Many thanks for your help in organizing a very enjoyable golf break and I am sure we will contact YGT for any golf weekends in the future.

I want to thank you for recommending this venue as an alternative to Celtic Manor as we couldn’t get in there. 

It was absolutely great and far exceeded our expectations in every area. We were even upgraded in the hotel to a wonderful room with a view over the 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th greens! Fresh fruit in the room was lovely and there was plenty of tea and coffee available too. The rooms were very clean on the whole and the bed was very comfortable.

The restaurant was really good – we were given an allocation of £29 each to choose from the menu for our evening meal – and this was sufficient to have a starter, main and dessert. We both had sirloin steak and chips and it was probably the best steak either of us has had. The breakfast the next day was also excellent with plenty of choice and all very hot.

The staff at the hotel from the reception to the restaurants were so very polite and helpful that we could not fault them at all.

Now to the golf...again this was of the highest standard. 

There were a couple of temporary greens on the Lakes Course but it was all main greens on the Wales National. The Lakes is a long and sometimes quite narrow course which I thoroughly enjoyed. The Wales National is simply huge and was certainly a challenge compared to the Lakes!

Some of the par 4s are massive and the chances of us getting a couple of Stableford points were slim! That being said...we still loved it! The back 9 has a particularly pretty section with water, and the red dogwood at this time of year (February) was stunning.

In addition, we spoke to several of the members all of whom were really friendly which is sometimes not the case when you visit such a resort. The Clubhouse was very good, the menu was not overly expensive and the quality of the food we were served was good.

I would highly recommend this venue. It is also the training base for the Welsh rugby team so seeing the players was an added bonus!

My rating would be 10/10.

I will never forget our golf trip to the Vale Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort.

This was our second annual golf trip that we booked with YGT. You guys are so easy to use and would recommend you to anyone looking to book a golf break. I emailed them a few months ago asking where they thought would be good for 10 guys to play a weekend of golf but also have the nightlife for the evening. They recommend The Vale and it did not disappoint!

The resort was easy to find, just off the M4 near Cardiff.

We started our first round on the Friday and unfortunately the weather made it very challenging, with rain and wind howling in our faces! The course was immaculate though, and good for our range of handicaps. Luckily the weather improved over the next two days. 

The hotel’s facilities were great too. Spacious, modern rooms, which are just a walk away from the 2 golf courses. We used the gym and swimming pool, but unfortunately didn’t have time for the spa.

Breakfast and dinner were amazing, we all agreed with a buffet for breakfast and 3 course dinners. The staff were so attentive and friendly and the whole trip was great value for money.

Well what can I say? What an excellent venue with two great golf courses, both superbly kept and presented. The clubhouse was excellent too; very welcoming and the service was excellent. The beer was great and well priced...food was great also.

The hotel was great, with superb food and a nice atmosphere.

If I had to have one gripe it would be the buggy situation. On arrival on Sunday we were offered buggies after being told during the booking process that they were not available on the Sunday. And yet there were none booked out when we got there! On the Monday, whilst we had 7 booked, they would only let us have 5 as there were nine of us and they expected us to play in 3 balls.

That was the only damper on what was described as 'superb weekend - great choice' by members of my party.

The course was closed on the first day as it was so wet. We were given a voucher to return - which we definitely will. Due to previous rain the fairways & greens weren’t tip top but I’m sure the course is usually 5 stars! Golf staff were all very friendly & helpful. A map of each hole on tbe scorecard or at the tee boxes would have been helpful. Overall an interesting course with lovely views!

The round took 5 hours, the fairways were in great condition. Nice to play off green grass rather than brown. Some of the par fours are hard to get to in two hits and the greens are not fast.

Very long course but by far the best course I’ve played , greens were perfect , fairways sound and tee boxed in fantastic condition, would highly recommend this course and looking forward to playing again. Only disappointing thing was halfway hut , vending machines with limited options but member of staff was round twice with drinks and snacks.

Greens had recently been scarified so it was like putting on Velcro. Bunkers terrible and not raked. It didn’t look like it was just from people in front of us because it was every bunker and on the last day we were off quite early. Very few ball cleaners. Very few bins so a lot of litter about. There was even an umbrella in one of the ponds which had obviously been there a while.

Greens were slow. Every bunker unraked. Could do with more ball cleaners and bins.

This is a long course and a stern test for medium handicappers. Buggies are highly recommended. Greens were undergoing maintenance on the day we played so were fairly disappointing.

Challenging tree lined course for a medium handicapper. Nice greens and fairways but have played courses for a similar price.

This course is beautiful, unfortunately the greens had been scarified the week beforehand and hadn't recovered. No putt read true, some greens hadn't even been cut and we're too long, it ruined the round on what would of been a very enjoyable course.

I would recommend having a course guide for the The Lakes. Lots of blind shots with extremely slopped fairways. The greens were in good condition but a little slow which was unfortunate.

The Wales National is a step up in length from the Lake Course, with just as much water to keep you honest. The stretch around 13, 14, and 15 is especially beautiful — scenic but punishing if you’re not accurate. The course has great variety throughout and really rewards strategic play. A proper challenge for any golfer, but well worth it.

Played the Lake Course during a hot spell — a great test of golf. Plenty of doglegs and blind shots make it a strategic challenge from the tee. Course was in good condition, but the fast, sloping fairways combined with internal out of bounds in places made keeping the ball in play tough at times. Still, a very enjoyable round overall. Demands accuracy and course management. Would definitely play again.

Great course in great condition especially when you consider the weather. Challenging for high handicappers I would say

None of the vending machines in the half way house worked and the cost of a bottle of Sprite from the cart was £3.10 which is disgraceful. When you play in Turkey you get fridges full of complimentary water every few holes. Whatever happened to people selling bacon naps and drinks after 9 holes?

The championship course was very good but long and difficult, a lot of our older members needed buggies.

Not all 16 players loved it, but that is often reflected by how they play. I played well and loved it!!

Easier than the National course albeit still not easy. Quite tight in places but some great holes very enjoyable.

A slow round albeit no longer than initially advised. Excellent course with some stunning holes. Greens receptive and very quick even though it had been raining a lot in previous days.

The National is a true test of golf and can be extremely difficult if you are not playing well. Last year we walked the national course on our second day but this year we took buggies which helped everyone enjoy their golf even more. Again would highly recommend.

Course played well considering the rain we had in the morning and during our round. Green were a little on slow side but ran true if you hit a good putt.

We had a fabulous three days with sunshine all the way, rare indeed. Fairways on 5,6 and 7 I thought were cut a little too short because no matter how far up the slope you hit your drive it always ended up in the rough below.

For us this was the better of the two courses in that it made you think about your game more. It was also in better condition than the Wales National. Beautiful holes which flowed together beautifully with a stunning downhill par 3 and some lovely water features and contouring for the remainder. Thoroughly enjoyable course and we will absolutely return.

Obviously a fabulous golf course with plenty to test your game. It had rained a considerable amount in the week leading up to our round so it was a wee bit soft in places and particularly in any hint of rough. Greens and tee boxes beautiful and fairways in good shape. Could have been a smidge better but the weather can’t be helped. We still enjoyed it very much and would love to return when it dries out a bit more and in fairness by the time of our second round it had started to.

Too hard for an average golfer. ! Beautiful lay out, just long (550 yd par 5’s) but it was a great and we enjoyed the challenge and each others company !!! Take lots of balls !

Nice course easy enough to play, greens were fluffy which made them difficult to putt on.

Enjoyed the course. Minor criticism, because of the time of the year some of the holes were on forward tees, so we didn’t play the course at the appropriate yardage. Which made some of the holes, slightly less challenging

Really enjoyed the course, only criticism would be the hollow toned greens. Made putting very unpredictable.

A lot wetter than the lakes with reduced roll and several plugged balls. Greens were in good coy. All greens open, however, most tees in mats due to the weather. Was quiet for us and played as a two ball in under 4 hours.

Course in good condition for the time of year. Relatively dry and good greens. Only two on winter greens and one of those due to maintenance on the steps.

It is a long course so slow because of length. Again the bunkers were unraked and the greens maintenance had just been completed.

Bunkers were very solid and would have benefited from raking but the rest of the course was lovely. Greens maintenance had recently been done.

We absolutely loved this course, greens were nice pace , fairways awesome, when you stood on tee box on at least 80% of holes it was wow that’s lovely, tbh we thought the course was long and tough as lots of water and some tight fairways but it just added to the challenge , would defo play again … oh and defo need buggy !!! 10/10🙌🏌️‍♂️

Again really like the layout of the course. Just the little bit of rain made it an ujenjoyable round because the course didn't hold up very well. It's not somewhere we'd choose to play again

We really liked the course design and the difficulty of it. But it rained the first day there (which can't be helped) but the course became very boggy which was annoying. We would rather have played a course that would hold up better in a bit of rain. The clubhouse TV had awful signal and kept cutting out every 2 minutes so we couldn't watch the football or golf after our rounds

The Lakes course was in the same great condition as the National course. The greens had been spiked the day before but on the day of playing it was hard to tell and greens ran very well. The Lakes course is shorter than the National course but as their second course it was in great condition and again value for money.

Played the National course last March and even then in the British fine weather it played well and was well kept. Now playing it in August, it was even better. Stunning setting, greens and fairways were perfect (when we hit the fairway that is). Value for money for sure.

We were looked after well by the marshals but unfortunately the drinks buggy finished at 2-30pm and seeing we didn’t start until 1-00pm we didn’t appreciate the facilities

Amazing course, although not overly long definitely makes you think about each and every shot. Our group of 12 golfer loved it.

Very beautiful course. Lots of different style holes. The course its self is very difficult for high handicappers. I would say anyone over 18 would struggle up here. Like i did :) but the condition and views are fantastic.

Both the Lakes and National courses have some picturesque holes, but the course definition (rough to semi to fairway to apron to greens) and greens themselves (bobbling and almost like the seed or budd hasn’t been cut off) are just not good enough for a good to top tier break - we didn’t see a green keeper on course or off in 3 days. Greens in the Wales national are really disappointing, large and with good undulations but just bobbling, bouncing and for chipping and wedges like a trampoline. Fairways here are like a park or field and not tight expected grass. Limited sand in bunkers and whether lakes or large ponds, the water features are well placed but filthy with goose waist and weeds etc. Halfway house is vending machines and not even water tap to fill up bottles. Overall 3 star ok awarded, but a very disappointing resort main course - handicaps 2-12 and we play at at a ~top 100 England course. For similar golf breaks, the Warwickshire is overall similar and the Forest of Arden (much better main course) and Hanbury Manor (lovely hotel and better course) are a better choice. Our group would not return here.

Really liked this course but will challenge a handicapper over 16 or so I'd say. We had one with us and he didn't have the best day out. Long in places requiring two good first shots to be on the green in two. You need a buggy!

I really liked this course. It is considered the friendlier of the the two onsite and I do agree.Some really lovely holes and enjoyable to play with a group of friends. If I was to come back I would definately play this one again.

Course was in very poor condition for the Welsh National. Too long for any but single figure players. An experience.

Have done the Vale several times over the years and thought the facilities looked a bit tired this time. Very friendly and welcoming staff, but personally thought the course should have been closed. The poor weather conditions meant that the fairways had not been cut, making them resemble the rough on many courses. Balls were being lost on the fairways either plugged or in the long grass. The group walked off after 4/5 holes. In fairness, the group were given vouchers to play the course later in the year.

very boggy - very wet under foot. balls were very difficult to find due to plugging constantly and the grass not being cut. i do think it would be great to play on in the summer months though. pro-shop workers on sunday/monday could do with cheering up a little .... slightly annoying.

hard to review due to conditions, but have been asked to provide one. if it was actually played when there hadn't been 8 years worth of rain in the past 6 months i expect it would be great. the temp greens at the moment are awful, long grass round a hole in the fairway! there should also be an update on the tee boxes, as they proved difficult to play off.

Course closed due to so much rain.They kindly gave us all complimentary tickets for another time.

Some amazing greens. Lots of rain before the round made it wet and boggy underfoot but we all enjoyed the round despite this. Its a tough course but has some very memorable holes

The course was very wet given a very wet winter. However the quality of the course was still apparent and I would love to play it again at it's best

This course was worse than the lake course water sitting in places which meant only 9 of the group playing. Should never been open.

This was by far the better course, I couldn’t believe the disparity between the 2 courses. Some lovely holes and the fairways weren’t to bad considering the amount of rain they’ve had.

The course was pretty much unplayable, I’ve never lost so many golf balls on the fairways,it was even a struggle to push a trolley. Nearly a 6 hour round.

This course was picturesque and the greens were good. Cart path good but buggies GPS did not work. The vending machines were also broken at the 9th hole. Lots of litter.

After a rained off Friday we played this course on Saturday and we were basically swimming, the greens felt like I was sinking and some of the lies in the fairway and rough were either underwater disappeared in mud or impossible to play from

Waterlogged so not a good place if there has been a lot of rain but some nice long, wide holes where you can give the driver a good thump. Also some nice tricky holes with lots of water around the 13th to 15th. We had some not so good golfers in front of us playing very slow. They eventually let us through but it really needed some course marshals to help keep the pace us. A long challenging course if the ground is dry.

Waterlogged so not a fun round but on a dry day it would be a good course. Easy to get into trouble so you need to play sensible if you want to score well.

Very pretty course, our group much preferred the lakes over the national. No half way house which is disappointing and the greens weren’t in the best condition, in need of a cut and roll. The holes had obviously not been moved for a bit as they’d started growing over. Particular highlights were the long par 3 and the par 4 island green.

The course didn’t really live up to the expectation. We played it twice on the first day the greens were really in need of a cut the second time they were much better. The course it self was very unforgiving which is fine but does mean it will be very slow. Our round to 6 hours on the Sunday and we waited on every tee. The Tuesday was slightly better. No, half way house just vending machines. The marshal was excellent and was not only friendly and informative but was aware of the slow play and did his upmost to move it on.

Great course however the starter/marshal was very rude and spoke to our party in a very aggressive manner which was reported back to the management.

As previous day, very slow after catching groups ahead. There were 3 groups waiting on the tees, so 20 min delay on some holes.

Very enjoyable, but a little slow. 1st 9 in around 1hr 45 mins, 2nd 9 2hrs 45

Disappointed with the greens, they had been hollow tines the week before so we’re in very poor condition. Unfortunately we also got harnessed with green staff cutting fairways, which we realise has to happen, just unfortunate timing for our group. Half way toilet facilities were disgusting and in a very poor state, considering the standard of the venue.

We had a great day and enjoyed the course as did all our group, whom had a range of handicaps from 6 to 40. Halfway house toilet facilities were very poor, they definitely need upgrading and cleaned more frequently.

The course was more manageable for mid to high handicap golfers but it was very disappointing that we had to play 9 temporary greens as maintenance work was being carried out on the main greens. We were advised that all tour operators had been advised, but we were told nothing so the overall experience of the course was ruined

Book a buggy for this course. Long and hilly but worth the effort. Needed mowing on first round but two days later in great condition.

Maybe a little too difficult for golfers of our quality! I'd recommend a buggy on this course as it's quite long, with long walks between some greens and tees.

Enjoyed the Wales National course, the course itself only drops a star because it was very wet making an already long course significantly longer. The green complexes are very good, plenty of slope and huge a shame about pitch marks on greens ! A course planner is a must purchase for 1st visit, as my only other minor gripe is the number of blind tee shots, 2nd round the following day in same course was easier to navigate knowing the correct lines. Overall a decent challenge & would return.

A long ,difficult course given the strong wind & torrential rain that fell beginning on the 16th hole. Despite using buggies , our equipment got so wet & had not dried by the next day that we decided playing our 3rd round was not possible.

A truly great golf course with some excellent holes. It is a long course and consideration should be given to hiring a buggy. It does help to have played the course as we enjoyed even more on the second round. having played all three courses at Celtic Manor then I definitely think this course is on par if not better. It was in great condition, greens were very lush although they were quite slow. I would have no hesitation in recommending this course for a great days golfing. Also what was very good was being allowed to go off in two balls if you wanted to.

Quite a short course with some very interesting holes. The condition of it was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed playing it.

We were fortunate to have an early tee-time on the Saturday morning and had no groups immediately in front or behind us. The course was in good condition, all the tee boxes were nice and even. The fairways an greens were superb, especially considering the lack of rain we've had recently. It was a good test of my golfing abilities and I look forward to visiting again next year.

The staff at the golf shop and clubhouse were warm, friendly and welcoming. The shop is well appointed and reasonably priced, however I felt that £40.00 for a golf buggy was a bit excessive compared to most courses.

A very long track for a high handicapper like me. Lots of blind tee shots and some blind seconds too! Recommend a buggy as some of the distances between holes are quite big. As a resort course some of the signage should be better.

Enjoyable course an odd mix of a lot of par 3’s and par 5’s. One par 3 in particular from an elevated tee was beautiful. Watching from the terrace, things did seem to get snarled up at tees 10 and 11, but it was ok when we went out on Saturday afternoon. For a resort course some of the signage should be better

This course was not presented nearly as well as was the Lakes Course. That said it was still fine. We felt that it is tough solely because of its length. Unlike the Lakes course little thought is required.

An excellent course presented in excellent condition. Much enjoyed by all of us. Not sure what is meant by facilities as there aren't any outside the clubhouse.

A more picturesque course than the National (the National is by no ways ugly!). If we go again we would play this course twice and the National once, purely based on the time it took to play. There is everything you need in both courses to have a great golf break.

The setup is very good. The guys in the pro shop were very pleasant and helpful. It isn't an easy course to play, but very enjoyable. Well worth travelling to Wales to play both courses.

as per the National the coffee machine did not wok was covered in cobwebs why not working!!!

All machines for cold food on the course worked however the Coffee machine was covered in cobwebs with a dirty overall on top and this did NOT work why the other machines were converded to card payment but no notice as to condition of this machine.

Course in great condition both fairways and greens really good considering the amount of rain on it recently.

The National course was for high handicappers hard. The par 4s were difficult to get on in regulation if you don’t hit the ball long. But the course is a great challenge and long.

The course was a good challenge. The greens needed cut then they would’ve been great. The course in places was a little soft and boggy; but that didn’t detract from a great course.

For a second course, this was very good. interesting fairways and greens.

Great course but unfortunately it tipped down from start to finish and was pretty much unplayable by the end. They did give us a complimentary round though for a future date.

As above so didn't play but drove around on the buggy so get a flavour of course for future.

Being in a buggy was a pain as it was paths only. Twice the walk when those who are struggling nèd a buggy for a medical reason. Weather at fault

What a great course with lovely views! A hard but fair challenge, the course was a little too wet due to heavy rain the previous couple of days so lots of plugged balls which slowed pace of play! But what I really liked was diverse mix of holes, pretty water features, attractive lakes, a really good layout! Definitely want to play it again but this time when the ground is a bit firmer

Very nice course, a little wet so we had to tee off quite a few mats & had 2 temporary greens but everyone enjoyed playing the course!

Tough long course and a tough test of golf. Loved it. Excellent layout and plenty of picturesque holes with lots of water. Shame the vending machines weren’t working at half way house and we weren’t made aware of this before playing.

Most tees were poor quality mats, the major issue with the course. Also bunkers were generally poor with highly compressed sand and lacked regular raking.

Excellent day, only criticism was the state of the bunkers that were highly compressed and need regular raking.

Only one issue there was night golf planned the night we played this course, so there were temp greens and we played these instead of the actual holes. Even the course Marshall had no idea why they were up. Very frustrating.

It was a wet and windy day which added to the challenge as this is more open then the Lakes Course. As the course is longer it was a slower round as expected but the slopes were less punishing so not as much ball hunting.

A challenging course with lots of slopes. Although the fairways were green there was still quite a bit of summer run. The fallen leaves made finding balls a challenge at times and the fallen chestnuts made for some interesting bounces.

The course was long! It wasn’t overly tough but a couple of 500 par 4s. Our group was of real mixed ability ranging from handicaps of +1 to 36
