Great hotel. All the amenities you need! Very helpful staff as well. No problems throughout the whole trip.

Superb location and great facilities

Lovely hotel on the edge of town - ideal location for golf and a short taxi into Dublin-by-the-sea. Don’t be conned by the star rating system - the rooms are big and comfy, pool area clean and welcoming, food and drink are fine (breakfast was top notch) but never a 5 star hotel.

For my husband and myself our garden suite opened on to a small patio area with one sun bed, a table and 2 chairs and over looked a narrow area of grass and then the back of other accommodations. Not quite a garden! The accommodation was very dark and lights had to on most of the time. The front entrance overlooked the pool. The pool and surrounds were lovely, with few quests plenty of sun beds if needed. We had no hot water in the shower or wash basins, temperature were 35+ so not essential, but remained the same for 3 days. The bar in the Hotel which was cooler in the hot circumstances did not open until 7pm, pool bar available until then, and "Happy Hour" was from 8pm until 9pm. This may have been the reason that most of the guests ate out in the evening and my husband and I had quite a lonely meal at 8pm in a very big dining room with a buffet that had been ready since 7pm. The staff were welcoming and friendly.

The hotel is in a great location, close to the airport and a short drive to bars/ beach / nightlife. The hotel is nice and has a good pool and breakfast. The only small negative is the service at the pool bar was sometimes very slow even when there was nobody else at the bar it took a while to take our order.

Lovely hotel and staff. The golf club house is a 2 minute walk from the hotel. Food at the golf course is lovely. Breakfast at the hotel also really nice.

Great hotel for location, cleanliness and food. Check in very slow and needs more reception staff. Everything relaxed and easy to get service.

Very good stay at Pestana.

Room very good except for the shower which was poor and sinks didn’t have a plug so you can have a proper shave. The system for dinner was slightly strange as you only had an option of a set menu and you had to get a voucher from reception to get 3 drinks with your meal. Breakfast choices were excellent. Golf was very good except the price for buggy which I think is way too high.

When we arrived only one room was booked on the hotels system even though I had confirmation saying we had two rooms. I had to give my card to book another room for the first night. I called Harry at your golf travel first thing on Monday morning and he assured me that two rooms were booked and he would call to sort it out. It was sorted and the hotel agreed it was a fault with there booking system, they did apologise and give me a bottle of wine and chocolate as a good will gesture. The only problem was as they had my card details I was charged for items I did not buy. The hotel again apologised. All in all hotel rooms are good but the hotel needs to sort out it’s systems.

Handy venue although a bit conferency. Great breakfast, perfectly good rooms and a great deal on evening meals IF you want to stay in

This hotel was based approximately 10mins away from vilamoura so we were constantly in taxis to the port

An excellent place to stay for a few rounds of golf with everything readily accessible. Lovely swimming pools & bars. Good breakfast buffet. The only option for an evening meal was limited to the buffet which was a bit hit & miss.

Great chalet style room with lovely bathroom , bath and shower. Gowns and all toiletries you needed. Was great sitting out on patio having a coffee in the morning

Good hotel, had a stressful incident where one of the party left a phone in a taxi and the hotel were very persistent and got the phone back the next day. It was very good service

Stayed in the hotel this time instead of the garden villas. Room with a balcony was lovely and the staff were very nice and friendly at all times.

Hotel is well located: about 25 minutes from Faro airport and about 10 minutes from Vilamoura. We had one of the garden rooms which are in positioned in the hotel gardens, a short walk from the main hotel building. They are spacious comprising of a double bedroom, bathroom and patio doors to a small sunny terrace. The hotel food was served buffet style with plenty of choice and different every day. We also had the three course evening meals which included plenty of house wine at 35 euros pp

Lovely complex however rooms could do with updating. Poor lighting in rooms. Pathways around complex dangerous in places due to tree roots lifting block paving. Good selection at breakfast however cooked breakfast not great.

Garden Rooms bleak and tired. Setting a bit like a holiday camp. If you sat outside your room you overlooked the back of another. We were moved rooms as 1 had a leak with water running down bathroom wall & mould. Adjoining room had paintwork bubbling & pealing off. Lighting in rooms terrible even the mirror light was a waste of time. Room cleaner great but didn’t replenish tea bags etc Bar dingy and uninviting with nowhere enough seating. Food below average and uninspiring Staff very pleasant, friendly and helpful though but it is more like a 3* hotel certainly not a 5 Would never recommend and certainly not return

Excellent place to stay although some of the chalets can be a long way from the actual hotel itself. Unfortunately getting to the hotel from the airport wasn't so good as our transfer was over an hour late.

Can’t say much about hotel as only really slept there never ate or drunk there They provide early package for an early departure

it is not easy to see how much I was charged but the cost of the holiday versus the cost of the hotel as per Booking.com suggests large mark up. Also when I booked weeks before the trip I was told only suites available. The hotel appeared to be half empty. The food in bar was awful and the beer overpriced compared to Quatiera

Good hotel with easy access to the golf course , range with a couple of tennis courts , indoor and outdoor pool. Good buffet breakfast . 10 mins in taxi to the beach , also a 10 mins walk to a couple of local cafes / bar.

The hotel staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfotable.

From the moment we arrived and during our stay, nothing was too much to ask. Staff were very attentive, informative and welcoming.

Great room, great facilities, Bar was good value for food & drinks.

Very nice hotel. We stayed in a garden room which had a large bedroom and bathroom and a small terrace with sunbeds looking onto gardens. The rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed daily. Nice touch. We had meals from the bar which were quite nice.

Beds uncomfortable, rooms small for two people bathroom very good hotel food ok ate out mostly. Golf course and clubhouse very good

Staff were excellent - all professional, polite and helpful. Hotel grounds are lovely. We had a garden suite which was great. Was a bit dark but opening the blackout curtains sorted that. Good selection at breakfast. Had dinner one night which wasn’t great but did the job for the night we decided to stay at the hotel. Good to have a car, although we jumped in a taxi a couple of nights (10€ each way into Vilamoura). We liked the fact it was a bit out of Vilamoura but not great if you prefer something walkable to bars and restaurants.

Lovely friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble to make your stay comfortable. Unfortunately let down by comfort of beds. Rooms quite “tired” & need updating. Good food & nice position of restaurant & bar overlooking outside area.

Nice Hotel friendly staff. The chalet room was noisy presumably from the AirCon unit next to the room. Could do with a few more lights on the walkways to the chalet rooms at night! A little dark for an older person as the walkway sets were very uneven and could easily trip up! The buffet food in the Hotel restaurant was good but the even menu was limited and food was average. Too salty and vegetables limited. The buffet evening meals have been good in the past but the last 4 visits the buffet was not available in the evening.

Hi for golf only at Vila sol ok Our room in the chalet was in darkness all the time we had to pull sun beds from the pool area to our front door! We paid 45euro each for the Christmas dinner which they have on Christmas Eve and again this was very disappointing, we expected to be served a three course meal for that price but no, same as other evening meals, serve yourself and not very hot at that! Breakfasts were just ok the guy making the ommellettes took about 5 minutes for each one nothing to do with a queue just he was useless Staff were quite good and bar staff helpful Certainly nowhere near a five star hotel and I have stayed in hotels all over the world! Overall we quite enjoyed the stay because of the weather Unfortunately I was not aware of how far away the other golf courses were, nearly an hours drive each day! In fact we gave up the last venue Silves and changed to play again the Vila sol course on the Monday horrendous... we were of course a two ball sqeezed in beyeeen four balls especially the group in front despite my protestations looking for lost ball for about 10 minutes refused to let us through. Fortunately our day at Gramacjo was great as we met and played with a lovely couple from Germany Alto was ok but the rough was so long difficult to find a ball just off fairway However all transfers were spot on.

It was a very nice hotel with excellent facilities and a very helpful and co-operative staff.

Most of the staff very friendly, breakfast ok, Recommend the continental as it is far better than the hot buffet! Rooms a little bit dated and a bit of walk from main hotel but not a problem as we had huge lockers for our golf kit by the reception area. The hotel is situated is quite far from the other golf courses, some at least 40 minutes drive. Seems that the other courses are close together and villa sol hotel situated a little out of the the way on its own. Overall the hotel was nice. We didn’t try the pool as we stayed in November for the golf.

Excellent rooms, fantastic pool and outdoor areas. The breakfast offered something for everyone and the quality was very good and plenty of it!!

hotel is good but way over priced for drink and food 5.50euro can of beer guinness 4.50 less than a pint of super bock 7.50euo there own brand of baileys 45euro for golf buggy I could go on and on. would not return way better value in malaga tenerife

We stayed in rooms in the main building, most rooms or villas are situated in grounds. Rooms were comfortable with large balconies overlooking the driving range

We booked only the day before travel. Organisation, attention to detail (including most cost effective transfer to and from Airport) excellent. Our grateful thanks to Steve Smith at 'Your golf travel'. Whilst hotel was a bit dated, facilities, service and buffet breakfasts excellent.

I was amazed at the quality of my room I don't know why we did not go there before. 2 minutes walk to the restaurant/bar and 5 minutes to the clubhouse. Got me a lot of brownie points from all the lads. Well done YGT. I will be talking to you soon!!!

The hotel was very comfortable but they are in the middle of refurbishing a lot of the areas the food on the first night was very poor and a lot of guests complained food was cold and portions small the clubhouse was better at lunchtime after our round

It was a lot of building work going on, half of the hotel was closed so that there was no out side bar's or inside bar's apart from a very small bar at the restaurant, so we felt uncomfortable to use the bar during meal times

A little tired in places but overall a great hotel in a great spot. The rooms we had were the Garden View ones and could do with a little updating. The staff were great in every part of the hotel.

I would like to thank Nick Bishop at Your Golf Travel for organising my latest coaching trip to Vila Sol in Portugal. From putting the package together initially through to the completion of the trip, Nick and his team were helpful, professional and adaptable as changes to the itinerary became necessary.

We stayed at the Vila Sol resort for 3 nights and as well as using their academy to do the coaching sessions we also played the 9 hole course on the Friday and the 18 hole championship course on the Monday. Sandwiched between these were 18 hole rounds at the beautiful Vale Do Lobo Royal and the Qunita Do Logo North course.

The organisation of the trip was first class, all the different transfers were always on time and even when I needed some changes made they were done seamlessly. My customers were really impressed with how smoothly everything went, from when they arrived at Faro airport to when they returned there, they had to think of nothing as it had all been taken care of.

Having used Vila Sol several times now for these golf coaching trips, the service they gave was also outstanding. They upgraded all the guests rooms to suites and allowed us all to have a late check out on the final day meaning that we could play the Vila Sol course, return to our rooms and shower and change before heading off to the airport, a service that really helped make the customers experience special.

A big thank you to yourgolftravel for another well organised and enjoyable golf trip, from which I think we have all just about recovered from!

Everything went really smoothly from our collection at the airport to checking in at the hotel and then the 3 rounds of golf. We played in what can only be described as superb conditions with the sun shining constantly.

The course was not at its previous best. the course was soft and grass length was long making the game more difficult that it should have been. This was born out in several societies that were there having their lowest scores ever, anywhere.

Having played many times now we found the staff in the pro shop quite rude and not helpful at all. We had a 11:30 tee on the booking but when we arrived we were told it was changed to 11:50 with no explanation and no apologies. We ask for a buggy but we’re abruptly told come back 20 minutes before tee time. We did turn up 20 minutes before and the queue was out of the door and we nearly missed our tee time. Also at the half way house the lady was very rude and abrupt not a nice experience.

Very nice course and in good condition. The PRIME course played very nicely. Lovely.

Excellent courses but lack of buggies is a real problem and hence marked down on facilities but the staff in the proshop really tried to assist and could sense their frustration at not being able to supply buggies for everyone that wanted them.

We had to stop after 15 holes as it was just too long. Took us 5 and a half hours to do 15 holes. We were only on hole 9 after 3 hours 30 minutes! Way too slow. Course was nice but that kind of ruined the round.

Played all 3 loops of 9 - had to wrangle with the pro shop and they only wanted us to play the same 2 loops for 3 days. Challenging, narrow course but very good greens, not like glass but true roll on each loop of 9. A well stocked half way house was nice - they could make a fortune if they had a kart person whizzing string each 9. Had to walk the first round due to a later T time, think you’d struggle for a buggy after 11am. 1st foreign course - good but played a lot better in the UK

1-18 is a fantastic course

On both occasions we were offered a slightly earlier time. The high temperatures mid morning/lunch time saw cancellations and allowed us to play earlier. We played at a steady pace in a buggy with little to hold us up. Under 4 hours on both occasions we think is very reasonable on such a course with fourballs etc. The courses looked very "Green" even although dry weather conditions at home have left ours a bit scorched. The course were well maintained and green staff very accommodating and polite,

The round took about 5 hours which in my opinion is too slow however the course was in good condition, the greens were very true and we all enjoyed it. Would highly recommend the location and the golf course for a golf trip. The golf is on site and getting around this area is very easy if you want to go out for dinner/drinks. A few minor negatives: - we had booked 3 x 3 balls but they broke us up into a 4,3,2 and paired us with strangers. Which ruined our team format. -one day we started early and had nobody in front. But then they let a group tee off the 10th as we were leaving the 9th green. This 4ball was incredibly slow and ruined our pace of play. The Marshall saw we were done on 9 and how long they were taking and should have called us through. With nobody in the fairway this group still took at least 5 mins before the first player hit.

starter whistled as we were teeing off!!!! buggies 41 & 51 had NO brakes no drinks available on course - halfway house was shut and it was 30 degress C abd no mobile drinks service no breakfast available - not even a croissant....

Tough course. Miss the fairway and you’re gonna be in trouble. Some lovely holes. Play 1-18 if possible as the 19-27 ones aren’t as nice.

probably my least favourite course, tees and greens were not in the best condition, we were told when we arrived that they might not have a buggy for us which in the heat was never going to happen, eventually they found us a buggy so all was okay,

The best of the Pestana courses, especially if you play 1 to 18. I have played 19 to 27 in the past and these holes are a little harder in places. Fabulous experience though. Thoroughly enjoyable. The clubhouse looking out over the 18th green provides great variety of food and perfect view of finishing golfers (who generally make you feel good about your own golf).

experience was NOT GOOD. prior to arrival tried to pre book buggiess as we are all senior citizens but were told could only book 30 minutes before tee time .We had early morning times shouldntbe a problem. On arrival there were plenty buggies but we couldnt get any as they had all been pre booked by people staying all over in the area in the special summer package which gauranteeed buggies Therefore people not staying at vila sol are given priority. What a way to treat their customers. It was 30 degrees we walked but had to come off after 9 holes completely ruined our holiday. Tried to complain in golf shop but told it was nothing to do with them. Tried to complain in hotel told they had nothing to do with the golf Feel ygt should be taking this up with Pestana for their clients

Excellent all round

For a course in Vilamoura not to have enough buggies for everyone was appalling. Not impressed.

All golf was brilliant and course in great condition! Only let down was food standard was not as good as Laguna!

Very Slow round. 5 hours 30 minutes. Buggies in very poor condition with no GPS. Generally very tired. Staff not particularly friendly.

We were blessed with great weather. Started promptly and ran very smoothly. Beautiful course and great challenges.

Good course week kept.

The two loops of 9 we played were Prima and Challenge, all enjoyed both. The going was a slow due to a group a couple ahead of us, though the course Marshall was visible we had to wait on nearly every shot.

We played as a 2 ball so a bit slow. Excellent condition and enjoyed the round. Buggies v expensive!

Great weather and course in very good condition, especially for time of year. Testing layout with some interesting tees and excellent green complexes. A bit busy for our liking, which was reflected in our 5hr round. Sun was out though and beers available, so not too much of a pain.

Golf course in good condition for the time of year, we had all types of weather, pace of play was ok as our rounds were changed to morning rounds early, the Friday round the original time was double booked.

I nice course, very narrow between the beautiful over hanging trees and you have to pick your shots. 3 sets of 9. We kicked off the first 9 on the afternoon the clocks had gone back. The first 9 went very slow, not sure why but looked overbooked. The second nine was quicker but we were never going to catch up and had to come off on the 16th (the others the 17th and 18th), couldn't see the ball 3 metres in front of us. The bar and facilities were just shutting up so no after round drink.

the star of our short tour - tough, especially if you hit the trees. The cork trees are definately not 80% air.

moved to this course again . tee time moved. played to late for us. club house shut. had to get taxis to hotel.total cock up ! how many months ahead do i have to book to get what we want in a golf tour ?

Course was fine but admin was shocking between YGT and the course. We had paid for buggies in advance but then had to pay again and claim back from YGT - really spoiled the booking for me as the organisers.

Great course but let down by Golftravel due to No buggies being booked , which was asked when booking. Cost us 55€ on the day

This course was next to the hotel which was good for getting to it but only 18 out of 27 holes were open and we were not made aware of this prior to leaving the UK So we played the same course 3 times , when I initially requested a quote to was to include all buggies for each round but this was dropped from the final quote without our knowledge therefore adding circa an additional cost of 1500 euros to our holiday making the holiday too expensive for what was on offer

Staff on the whole were ok but a computer glitch meant we were stuck in a queue of golfers all starting at same time. This lead to some friction amongst the players each blaming the other for slow play. We did okay 3 times and that was the only problem we faced. Nice scenery and some tricky greens.

It is a nightmare trying to Book a buggy. You cannot book a buggy in advance. so when we got there we were told they had no buggies. not a great start when you e-mail the course saying one of your group is not able to walk 18 holes

Apart from the weather the golf was brilliant. Course challenging at times but great fun. Staff at golf shop/buggy centre/club house and course staff were all amazing.

We played holes one to eighteen on both days. They were challenging and varied, with narrow fare ways, undulating terrain and water to hit round and over. The buggy tracks were good with good signage so we could find our way around the lovely scenic course. The clubhouse looked over the eighteenth hole, had a lovely terrace and the attentive staff served good food and drinks

Played Vila Sol many years ago. Very disappointing to see the deterioration since then in the maintenance of what should be a top class course. Would not be interested in playing it again

Very slow too many people on the course, four balls every 9 minutes yet it tells you when you have to be on the 10th tee which is 2hrs 15 mins from your start time. How is this possible 9 times 9 is 81 minutes less than an hour and a half

Course very nice & in good condition. Interesting and with every type of hazard but Staff in pro shop rude and u helpful Treated us like 2nd class citizens. We asked for 2x3 balls but 4 put of 5 rounds they insisted we were 4 & 2 with 2 strangers but then allowed 2 ball behind and when we queried with starter he threatened to call & have us removed. They said it was fully booked each day but it wasn’t busy. The couple we joins with paid €60 for 18 holes and said they hadn’t even specified a time & only booked it that morning so could easily have joined later 2 ball. We asked about playing 9 holes on our last day & they said €50. They were rude & unhelpful. On the first day we asked which 9s we were playing each round & took the relevant cards. Each time they changed it without telling us & when we asked to switch were told we couldn’t it was full yet while we were on the putting Green nobody tee’d off the 9 we wanted to play for more than 1/2 hour It was a long walk from rooms to golf club but they were unhappy about us collecting trolleys (€30) or buggy (€60) and taking them to the rooms to collect or drop off clubs

We have stayed at Vila Sol a couple of times in the past (but not for about 5 years or so) and the course and facilities seem to have gone a little downhill

Tough, tight course but one we enjoyed. Again, greens bot quite up to standard we have at home but we all enjoyed our round.

1315 tee off no buggies and no electric trollies available and just told they don’t know when there will be. You guys clearly know we would struggle with buggies, we would have booked a different course with better tee times so not having to carry or use a terrible pull trolley. Staff have no idea at course.

All first class.

Very nice Course, 3 loops of 9. Quite tight. Unfortunately there is no drinks buggy and the halfway house was shut around 2.30 pm the second time we played. We were a bit disappointed as we had asked when booking if we could play all three 9's but this didn't happen we played 19-27 and 1-9 twice. As we were staying on the complex you would have thought they would have used their common sense and booked us different 18 holes any way. We have played here before on two occasions and played the same 18 holes, it would appear that they keep holes 10-18 free for members.

As for hotel can't tell what I was charged but the green fees I could have got were good value - I suspect I was charged much more. When booking weeks out I was told tee times very booked up. That was not the case and we changed tee times on both days.

There were 8 ladies playing and the course is slightly harder than the one we play on at home but we all really enjoyed it. We thought the course was in very good condition. We liked the fact that there were three 9 hole courses and we could play a different two each day. We were not held up at all and moved at a good pace ever though we were walking.

Hard course if you're like me and can't hit the ball straight. Very much risk and reward, but really fun to play. Course has loads of character. Every aspect was in great condition. Grass range was nice with two short game areas.

Played really well, so I loved the course 😂 The others said that they think that they hit at least 1 tree on each hole.

The course was well maintained and very challenging we really enjoyed our time there. Loved the statue of Sir Bobby Robson💙 Only thing we got caught with the markings. Meters instead of yards😂

Beautiful course. Played it 4 times in 6 days. Tee times were good. The only downside was the cost of a buy which was 55 Euros per round. Would definitely consider staying here again.

started off awful ,, when we arrived at golf complex I went into book the guys in and then to be told we are not down on the system. The shop assistant looked panicked and asked for us to be patient !! he said go have a drink I will do my best to sort ,he eventually came out and with relief said he could fit us in at 1.34pm.. but also was told that the 1 to 18 if which I asked YGT for was now not available but holes 19 to 27 and 1 to 10 only now were available !!!!!

Vila Sol is a very interesting course with 3 loops of 9 holes, some of the fairways are quite tight making it a difficult course for some golfers that have exaggerated swing on their drives. Can highly recommend the fish and chips. 10/10

Nice course but over 5 hours for a round of golf is a bit extreme...no marshals/starters to make sure all goes smoothly!

Courses were in great condition. Good, fair challenge. Although it was busy, play moved on well and there was little or no waiting. Clubhouse facilities were good. Nice outdoor seating area and food was reasonable. Good practise facilities. Buggies 55€. Would definitely play here again.

Tree lined which some of our party found difficult! Greens were not as fast as Quinta courses but still true and in good condition.

Second visit to this course and didn’t disappoint.

Fairways in reasonable condition. Greens fast (compared with UK). Facilities good. Good food & service in clubhouse. However there are better courses around the Vila Sol area.

This course is a nightmare! This is the third time that our group have used Vila Sol and it will definitely be the last. With this being 3 nine hole courses and during SEP/OCT/NOV their peak golfing period the course is fully booked. That being the case they do NOT have sufficient buggies to service the course. We were told that our party of 12 could not have any buggies as they were all being used and given an ultimatum either use a pull trolly or don't play at all. Half our party were pensioners and to pull a trolly round this course in 28degree heat is ridiculous. There was bedlam in the clubhouse with a number of parties all experiencing the same problem. Not the first time we have had this problem at Vila SOL. Trust me, give it a miss. VERY POOR

Very unhelpful guy on reception, told party (average age 55+) no buggies or even Electric Trollies available only ancient 2 wheel push trollies and shrugged his shoulders it’s a long walk in 30 degrees. Lovely course but wouldn’t entertain going back.

Conditions of course excellent first day only managed to play 9 holes as buggy ran out of battery but staff very helpful and gave us a free buggy for our second found

Great course! Amazing surroundings too, nice staff and good facilities.

We played 19-27 and 1-9 and hardly had a delay. Course is tree-lined and has a very English feel to it so errant shots are punished. We were going straight to the airport after our round and were very happy to find showers and towels available for all.

Tougher course but great fun

Vila Sol is a great test of golf off the white Tees but only players who drive the ball 250 - 300 yards should play off the back. The yellow tees give normal single figure players an opportunity to play mid and short irons to greens. The greens were in excellent condition but the fairways appear compacted and a lot of work is required to bring them back to a good condition. Many fairways were bald and muddy with little growth despite warm temperatures and reasonable rainfall. 3 great 9's however and always enjoy the challenge! John

We found the course in excellent condition, very busy but well managed so we were not held up ( other than by some idiots playing 2 balls each! )so not the course staffs fault. As a very average golfer I found some holes challenging but great fun. Plenty of water which was not always avoided ! I haves described the course as hard but to a better golfer probably average in difficulty.

Course appears overplayed. Multiple bare patches on the fairways and almost 6 hours for a round of golf. A lack of course Marshall meant a few groups who lacked ability and etiquette held the field up.

The courses had an attractive and interesting range of holes over thee nine hole arrangements. We enjoyed all the three different nines with the only criticism being the fairways which were somewhat worn. We would certainly go back to this venue.

Even though the course looked very busy we were started on the 19th hole (not the bar!!) and we had an amazing round. No hold ups even though we were only a 2 ball. Nice course, fairly flat and easily played with a pull trolley. Good condition considering so much rain in the few days before and on the morning we played. Would recommend.

Lots of noise, building/construction work going on around the course. Cranes and builders making noises too. Didn’t have the same feel to it as the other courses we played on although was very nice I wouldn’t rate it as good as Gramacho or Pinta. We played it on a rainy day and a sunny day and got to experience it in both conditions.

Too many players on the course with no marshalling to keep slow groups moving .Some great holes

Tight off the tee with trees hugging the edges of the fairways. It’s pretty flat throughout but the holes generally shape one way or another. The condition of the fairways and greens was excellent and I would definitely play it again !!

Best course from selection. Tight off some tees but great holes. Fantastic bar but driving range is like playing out of bunkers. X3 9 holes mixed to make 18. All very challenging.

Vila Sol was in poor condition unfortunately, some fairways were heavily sanded and the surface on some was poor. This course can be frustrating as you can hit the middle of a fairway and still end up under a tree.

Our first game teeing of at lunchtime was on the slow side, other games were just over 4 hours

This course is too greedy and crammed to many people onto it, shame really as it's a spectacular course

Beautiful course, however, a lot of fir trees in middle of fairways which was challenging! Expensive buggy hire (45 Euros) which exclusive of green fee. No bottled water supplied either.

What a great course Vila Sol is. You have to pick you way around the tree lined fairways and the various sand and water obstacles that come your way. The greens are great and the course will maintained. The staff were very friendly and cheerful. I would definitely recommend playing this course.

Really nice challenging course you need to hit a good tee shot otherwise it makes your 2nd shot impossible to get to the green as fairways are narrow and tree lined but wasn't rushed pace of play was really good and greens were good

Older more traditional Portugese course. Loved it & well worth the 45 mins drive to get there.

This was our 2nd favourite course, similar to the Old Course in terms of character. Some great tree lined holes and some amazing views as well as challenging holes. The round itself was slow, but that is more to do with peoples lack of respect for the game and other people around them, in terms of slow play. That is not the golf courses fault though. Would highly recommend this course and yourgolftravel did a wonderful job in picking 3 top quality courses.

Well maintained course

We played twice. Was disappointed that the first 9 was shut for maintenance.

One nine hole closed so rounds were slow but this was a holiday so, weather great and company fantastic!

Fantastic golf course with 27 holes which I would say was championship standard very tree lined but a great challenge.

Very disappointed with a few aspects of the course:- - No buggies available on Sat 11th, although people from a wedding party were driving a number of these around the course, & limited number available on 12th. - At the half-way point, the hut was very limited in what it had to offer, no sandwiches or ciders. - The buggy selling drinks was not in operation on either days, & we were told there was a staff shortage. Considering the weather it would have been helpful to get some drinks during the back 9 especially. - The kitchen closed at 6pm. Considering there was still at least 10-20 groups still out on the course, this again was very disappointing that we couldn’t get food after this time.

Fairways were not great and the whole place feels as though it needs upgrading

This is a very busy golf course with 27 holes but exceptionally well organised, we did not have to wait at the 10 where we started or have any difficulty cutting in on the 19th. A difficult challenge with water and trees in abundance. Slick greens that required great care on both the approach and putting out. Thoroughly enjoyable.

a great course , good layout, very good greens, very fast, hard to read. very well kept. we would play there again. I know its expensive to keep a good course up to scratch, but the green fees a rather high.

For a high handicapper I rated this course 5* although several holes were tight/long but very enjoyable will definitely be back next year.!!!

Range facilities are ok. Balls,basket and dispenser need attention. Practicing of the grass is good but not much grass to hit off. Greens very good.

played the 2nd and 1st nines. Had argument with members after we finished 1st nine six 2 balls (members) standing on the 1st tee with no starter. Complained to the pro shop. This ruined the round

Lots of trees to hit into. Some really tight fairways so you need to be straight off the tee. Holes 1-18 are lovely but 19-27 not so much. Great club house and range though.

Very enjoyable Golf Course. Very tricky with a lot of cork trees, but beautiful and in really good condition A nice variety of holes. We would all play it again
