Wollaton Park Golf Club

Stepping onto the first tee at Wollaton Park feels less like visiting a city-centre club and more like entering the private estate of a 16th-century nobleman. The air is still, save for the distant clatter of antlers or the sudden, exotic squawk of a parakeet.

Looming over the parkland is the Elizabethan grandeur of Wollaton Hall, a cinematic masterpiece that famously doubled as Wayne Manor—which watches over every drive and putt. This isn't just a round of golf, it's a stroll through a living gallery of English history where the crunch of gravel underfoot and the scent of ancient oak woodland set the tone for a truly sophisticated day on the links.

Who is it Best for?
Society groups and history-loving golfers who want the convenience of a city break without sacrificing the serene, sprawling beauty of a traditional English country estate.

Wollaton Park Golf Course

Designed by the prolific Tom Williamson, Wollaton Park is a classic parkland layout that demands respect from the off. The terrain is pleasantly undulating, particularly on the back nine where the landscape opens up to reveal enticing changes in elevation and sweeping views of the lake. Precision is the currency of the day, the 5th hole is a tree-clad gauntlet that requires a nerve-shreddingly accurate tee shot to find the fairway.

The greens are the course's crowning glory—silky smooth, remarkably fast, and often featuring subtle contours that can humiliate a lazy putter. On the back nine, the par-five 15th stands out, a downhill challenge that invites you to open your shoulders towards the distant water, provided you can navigate the tight corner and well-protected green. Throughout the round, the presence of the deer adds a unique rhythm to the game, they are the silent spectators of your best and worst shots.
