Sitting around 1,000 feet above sea level and stretching across 475 acres, Apes Hill Barbados is one of the island's standout golf resorts and communities. The setting does a lot of the heavy lifting: lush tropical vegetation, deep gullies and big, sweeping views that take in both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Sea from the same spot. It feels exclusive but not showy, which is exactly what many golfers want from a high-end Caribbean break.
The headline act is the 18-hole, par-71 championship course. The elevation changes and trade winds keep you honest, and the routing makes the most of the terrain with holes that climb, drop and turn through the hillside. Low handicappers will enjoy the strategy and shot-making, while mid handicappers can still have a great day if they respect the wind, take enough club and play to sensible targets.
Off the course, you've got the Performance Centre for practice and coaching, plus plenty to keep non-golfers happy. Think wellness and fitness options, easy beach access and dining that leans into local Barbadian flavours and ingredients. It's a strong option for couples, groups and families who want serious golf with proper resort comforts and a relaxed, down-to-earth feel.
Who is this for?
Golfers seeking a distinctive Caribbean golf experience that combines championship-level golf with luxury villa accommodation, panoramic ocean views and a full range of resort amenities in one of Barbados' most elevated and scenic locations.
Who is it best for?

With skill, deep understanding and five decades of experience, the late Ron Kirby redesigned the 18 Hole Championship golf course to incorporate the rich natural heritage and undulating landscape that makes Apes Hill's location so special: the deep gullies, spectacular views and natural charm of the Caribbean.
Situated at an altitude of 1000ft above sea level, the golf course is one of the highest points on the island. Its design reflects a strong dedication to the preservation and sustainability of its natural environment. To minimize water usage, the course employs an eco-friendly grass variety. The irrigation requirements are met through the collection of rainwater, while the grass itself possesses inherent resistance to both weeds and the need for excessive fertilization.
This championship course offers a one-of-a-kind experience, with the presence of numerous Barbados Green monkeys roaming freely. Additionally, the 20th Hole (Halfway House) and clubhouse eagerly await your arrival, ready to offer you a delightful beverage.

Guests can warm up for their round on the Championship course with a round on Little Apes, the brilliant 9-hole par 3 course offering a world of golf in the heart of Barbados.
Designed for pure enjoyment and a fantastic test of your short game, Little Apes is a must-play for golfers of all levels. Each hole is inspired by some of the planet's most iconic courses, with distances ranging from 95 to 145 yards to keep you challenged and entertained. This is your chance to dial in your wedges and enjoy an unforgettable round against a backdrop of breathtaking island beauty.
More than just a course, Little Apes is the perfect setting for a family golf adventure. Its welcoming layout and manageable distances make it the ideal place to introduce your children to the game, creating memories that will last a lifetime. This is where a love for golf begins, with laughter echoing through lush green fairways.
The villas at Apes Hill are designed to sit quietly in the landscape, not dominate it. Expect modern, open-plan layouts with plenty of natural light, strong indoor-outdoor flow and wide views over the golf course and out to sea. The architecture uses clean lines and local materials to create spaces that feel both luxurious and grounded in the Barbadian setting, with private terraces that make the most of the climate and those ever-present ocean panoramas.
Accommodation typically ranges from three-bedroom Courtyard Villas to four-bedroom Hilltop Villas, with options that suit couples, families and golf groups travelling together. Courtyard Villas work well as a sociable base close to the resort facilities, with private outdoor space and direct access to the clubhouse and first tee. The Hilltop Villas sit at the highest points of the estate, offering more space, more privacy and the biggest views across the island and out to both coastlines. Every villa is set up for easy holiday living, with full kitchen facilities, generous living areas, air conditioning throughout and outdoor terraces built for long evenings and lazy mornings.
For golfers, the layout of the estate means you're never far from the course, but the villas are positioned to feel secluded and private. It's a setup that works particularly well for groups who want to stay together, with communal spaces for post-round drinks and meals, plus individual bedrooms that offer proper separation and comfort. Housekeeping and resort-style support add comfort for longer stays, especially for groups who want the flexibility of self-catering without losing that looked-after feeling.
Beyond golf, the resort's facilities include wellness and spa services, fitness options and access to Barbados' west coast beaches. Dining is centred around locally sourced produce and fresh seafood, with options ranging from casual poolside meals to more refined evening dining. The emphasis is on quality ingredients and relaxed service, rather than formal resort dining. The villas are also equipped with modern technology and full connectivity, making them suitable for longer stays or groups who want to set their own schedule while still having access to everything a full-service resort offers.
