The Green Monkey is the name on everyone's list in terms of Caribbean golf. Named after the local primates with whom golfers share the Sandy Lane experience, the Green Monkey is an awe-inspiring new championship track devised by the great Tom Fazio.
Carved amazingly into an old quarry, the course is only available to resort guests, and is a formidable challenge from the 7,389 yard Masters tees. The signature hole, and the new hallmark of Fazio's creation, is the sand-surrounded grass island carved into the shape of the legendary Bajan Green Monkey.
If you are a serious golfer, Sandy Lane's Green Monkey belongs in the elite group of the world's most spectacular courses, alongside the likes of Pebble Beach and Kingsbarns.
The Green Monkey at Sandy Lane is ranked as one of the best courses in the Caribbean

They welcome was very warm, Caddies are compulsory, this adds to the expense. The caddy kept the game moving at a pace that was a little too fast ( didn't think I'd ever say that). We hit balls at times that made you uncomfortable, too close to those on front. The fairways & greens were in excellent condition. Low handicap golfers, good putters may find it easy. The clubhouse is very nice. The shop is well stocked but only half the product is available to guests og Sandy Lane gold course, the remaining product is only available to guests of the Sandy Lane Hotel.

Although the course was highly manicured and attractive, the fairways were so wide as to present little challenge. The greens were very fast but sandy so that it was difficult to judge pace and borrow. The course is very long so needs tenacity in the heat. The buggy master & pro shop set up are very slick and the changing rooms/showers are beautiful. We were glad that we were not playing more than one round on this course as it was the least challenging that we played. We also had to pay 100BBD for a caddy who we did not really need.

What a course. Visitors have to be stopping at the course and the only tee times available are 8.30 to 9.30. Best course in terms of condition I have ever played, with stunning scenery. Mandatory caddie very helpful-ask for Joseph Henry-he is brilliant.
