The North Course was designed by Jay Morrish, and affords great views of the Black Mountain. Carved through the great boulders and cacti, the North is considered by many locals to be among the most challenging in the local area, despite being relatively short at 6,811. There are tees to suit golfers of every standard here, which has helped Boulders establish itself as a firm favourite.

The South Course is more rugged than its neighbour, and although it was also formulated by Morrish, its character is distinctly different. Measuring 6,726, the South is not long, but its slope rating of 140 underlines how challenging it can be. The signature hole is undoubtedly the 5th, whose green is carved into a great outcrop of rocks.
Playing golf in the late afternoon in Arizona is a special experience, as the sun settles behind the mountains.

Surrounded by rock formations that are some 12 million years old, the Boulders Resort is a golf and leisure destination of the utmost quality, so much so that it has been named the best American resort on countless occasions.
Drenched by the Arizona sun, the resort features a charming and intimate hotel, bedecked in rich tones and warm wood fittings. Leather chairs, exposed beams and fireplaces are among the added touches that make Boulders stand out, while the accommodation is first class.
The resort boasts casitas, suites and villas, all of which are lavish and elegant, and designed to assure a sumptuous stay. Colour, design and space are the three founding principles that have been perfectly combined at Boulders, which is undoubtedly among the highest regarded leisure or golf holiday destinations in the entire United States.
The Boulders Resort's renowned Golden Doors Spa is a haven of relaxation and revitalization, founded upon the quality of its massages, therapeutic baths and refreshing treatments. Health and lifestyle classes are scheduled frequently, including yoga, pilates and Tai Chi instruction, underling the Golden Doors as a world-leading facility. Five hard courts and three clay courts are the backbone of a highly regarded tennis centre, while shoppers will also be in paradise - the El Pedregal is a luxury shopping centre, based at the foot of a 250-foot tall rock formation. For complete relaxation, a personal recommendation is the O'furo, a traditional Japanese bath.
Bogey's at The Boulder Club is a laid-back bar and grill for golfers, and is ideal for post-round refreshment.
The Latilla is a renowned organic restaurant, whose tasting menu changes daily, and is paired with superb organic wines.

This is an absolute diamond. The condition of the course and facilities matched with the reasonable shop, bar and restaurant just edged TPC Scottsdale. This is a must play course. The views and vistas are stunning with elevated tees, water, scrubland at interesting intervals. The welcome was great and the facilities superb. Our favourite place.

Again staff not the friendliest. Starter was almost rude when asked why I had been moved from the booked South course tot he North course for our round. Nice views, well manicured fairways, mind the cactus (some jump), felt more like a visual experience than a good golf experience.
