Golf Courses at Bramshaw Golf Club

Forest Course

The Forest Course is the oldest in Hampshire dating back to around 1865. With its open aspects and rolling heathland, it is in complete contrast to its younger sibling, the Manor Course. The ever-changing scenery of humps, hollows and meandering streams test golfing skills and judgement within an idyllic setting. The prospect of a deer emerging from the trees or a mare chivying her foal across the fairway gives the Forest Course a special and unique appeal.

The roaming ponies and cattle add to the charm of the course, and many prefer to play the Forest Course for its beauty and old-fashioned test of golfing skills. Under special protection as an SSSI site, the fairways are only permitted to be cut twice per year, but the constant grazing always provides excellent playing surfaces… if you can excuse the odd hoof print. Golf on the Forest Course has not changed in over 100 years, and neither should it.

Manor Course

Set amidst the beautiful New Forest in a landscaped parkland of mature specimen trees and hardwood plantations, the Manor Course at Bramshaw Golf Club was opened in 1972. With gently undulating fairways that demand accurate tee shots, and greens that are relatively small by modern day standards, the Manor Course is an excellent test of golf: there really isn't an easy hole on the Course.

One of the finest and most picturesque courses in the south of England, it demands excellent approach shots in order to score well.

Course in good nick, like everywhere desperate for some rain. Greens and fairways really good condition, sadly tee boxes have been neglected and are very poor.

The club team were great and very accommodating, friendly and hi the extra mile for you. Great customer service. The course is challenging and very well designed. Let down by some of the fairway conditions and the greens had maintenance in August but were slow to recover (our two rounds on the Manor course were 9/10-Sep). 15th Fairway was poor as you couldn’t differentiate fairway from rough as it was all the same length. Greens were very fluffy making them very slow. However on the second day the greens had been cut in the morning which made for better putting conditions. Would come back to play the course again if in the area.

Unique golfing experience set in a wild, horse strewn New Forest environment. Rough around the edges but that is exactly what gives it its charm.

only 10 holes open due to wet weather, still very boggy in places. A good parkland course in a lovely wooded setting. Will return to play the whole course soon.

course was extremely wet, puddles and running water. 2 holes were closed. Several greens had animal hoof prints on them, probably to be expected on a common ground course. A very enjoyable course, being heathland the water was not a great problem as the ground was firm. Worth a visit

This course was a weird experience but great fun, you have a tee and a green (both in really good con.)and the natural heathland in between including ponies and cows. Definitely worth a visit for a new golf experience.

Enjoyable course, fairways could do with a trim but it is early in the season and has been wet so far so understandable.

Complete opposite to the Manor course experience. Different member of staff allowed us to play ahead of a large society. We sped round and thoroughly enjoyed the round.

Initial impression from Pro shop was poor. Member of staff wasvnot accommodating. Caused us to therefore have nearly a five hour round which is not acceptable for a two ball.
