Designers Mark Parsinen and Gil Hanse have capitalised on a majestic parcel of land to carve a golfing marvel. The spectacular setting overlooking the Moray Firth presents a memorable seascape punctuated with local landmarks such as the Kessock Bridge, Chanonry Lighthouse, Fort George and Ben Wyvis.
Castle Stuart Links is the epitome of contemporary links course architecture. Here nature bequeathed an opportunity for a links golf course to enjoy a rich landscape texture of whins, gorse and broom, heather and marram – a landscape mosaic of rugged beauty. It is a true links experience with rumpled fairways, offering changes in lie and stance; partially revetted, natural bunkers and infinity edge greens that allow the scenery and key landmarks to be put on display.
Having played host to the Scottish Open four times since it opened in 2009 with champions including Luke Donald, Jeev Milkha Singh, Phil Mickelson and Alex Noren, Castle Stuart has become a must play when visiting the Highlands of Scotland.

Lovely setting, friendly staff, great food and good experience. course is a bit contrived in places with too few bunkers and radical humps on greens that if you haven't played before are not visible until you get to the green.

This is a course where the second shot is the one that really matters. Wide fairways from every tee box means that golfers of all abilities will enjoy the course. However to score well you need to have your short game in good nick. The greens can be deceptively undulating, so a caddie is a must for this course if you want to score well. Incredible practice facilities, and super friendly staff in the club house. This course is a must visit for anyone in the area of any ability.

Staff very good from start to finish-including a lift to our nearby accommodation. Course is very picturesque and in good condition. Some greens had been worked on (but courses do have to be maintained). Food and beverages very good. Clubhouse fantastic-we stayed for hours taking in the beautiful views across the Moray Firth.

Staff were great and very friendly. We played on a Saturday afternoon with what staff described as an unusually heavy wind that they called a "3 club wind". Made the round very difficult but it is a fabulous and challenging layout.

Magnificent experience from arrival to departure. This place feels special. Lovely souvenir with bag tag, course planner etc presented on arrival. Magnificent practice facilities with helpful staff. Magnificent course and views, infinity greens are amazing. Loved the payment tab, pay for nothing till you leave including half way house and restaurant. Extremely relaxed atmosphere and dress code and, one of the cheapest tabs of the whole trip. A very special place, not to be missed.

With a strong wind, this wonderful course is not for beginners. The greens are slow. We want to come back for playing again !!
