Perched at the foot of the Atlas Mountains on a vast 230-hectare estate, Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech is one of Morocco's standout luxury golf resorts. You're just under 8 miles from Marrakech city centre, so you can do the souks and the sightseeing, then be back at the resort in time for a sundowner by the pool.
Golf-wise, it's a cracking base. There's an on-site 18-hole course, plus easy access to top nearby options like Samanah Country Club and Assoufid Golf Club, which is ideal if your group likes a bit of variety across the week. The architecture leans into Berber influence in a tasteful way, so it feels distinctly Moroccan without trying too hard.
Off the course, the facilities are properly five-star. The spa is a genuine highlight for non-golfers or anyone who fancies a recovery day, while dining covers classic Moroccan flavours as well as Italian, with plenty of terrace seating when the weather plays ball. If you're planning a Morocco golf trip and want a resort that's equal parts golf, comfort and downtime, this is a very safe bet.
Who is this for?
Golfers who want a luxury resort experience with serious golf on the doorstep, plus easy access to Marrakech's best courses. Ideal for couples, groups and families looking for a high-end stay with plenty to do off the course.
Who is it best for?
Anyone seeking a premium Moroccan golf holiday with top-tier accommodation, dining and leisure facilities. Particularly suited to those who value space, privacy and a resort that can cater to mixed-ability groups or non-golfing partners.

Designed by Cabell B Robinson, the man responsible for many of Continental Europe’s best layouts, Fairmont Golf & Country Club offers preferred access to resort guests and is one of Morocco’s top ranked courses.
Extending to over 7,200 yards from the back tees, Fairmont Golf & Country Club can certainly offer a stiff test even to the best golfers, and with Bermuda fairways and tees, as well as A4 bent grass greens, the course stands out from the pack in terms of conditioning, making a round on Fairmont Golf & Country Club most enjoyable.
While more than three quarters of a million square metres of earth was moved during construction, the course appears very natural to the naked eye, blending seamlessly into the landscape which is awash with colour. A huge variety of shrubs, flowers and trees bloom at different times of the year all over the course, and with holes routed around 5 large lakes, it is one of the country’s most picturesque layouts.
Wide fairways allow for some margin for error from the tee which allows a great range of golfers to enjoy the course. Stray too far from the fairway though and you’ll find your way into great swathes of sand in the form of waste bunkers. Speaking of bunkers, this is one of the most eye catching features of the course and with countless years of experience, Robinson has the traps well placed, forcing the golfer to carefully consider their shot selection throughout the course.
Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech offers 134 suites and villas, all finished to a five-star standard and designed with space and comfort in mind. Even the entry-level Junior Suites come with separate lounges, large bedrooms and private terraces or balconies, so you're not cramped after a day on the course. Every room includes complimentary WiFi, flat-screen TV with satellite channels, minibar, telephone with international dialling and luxury bathroom amenities as standard.
Room and suite categories range from Junior Suites through to Presidential Suites, with the top-end options offering additional square footage, enhanced views and extra services such as valet, 24-hour room service and a kitchenette for those who fancy preparing their own meals. For families, the Luxury Family Suites are a sensible pick if you want extra space and child-friendly touches, making them a smart choice for anyone travelling with youngsters on a family golf break.
At the top end, the Prince Villas sit away from the main hotel building and offer complete privacy. Each villa comes with its own garden, private swimming pool, fully equipped kitchen and even a private hammam, so you can unwind in total seclusion after your round.
Three restaurants cover the dining, each with its own character. Al Ain overlooks the golf course and serves Moroccan cuisine rooted in Arab, Berber and Moresque traditions. The menu is refined without being fussy, and the terrace is a great spot for lunch or dinner with views across the fairways.
The Capricci focuses on authentic Italian cooking and offers several dining formats, from table d'hôte to private lounges screened by Mashrabiya panels, plus the Captain's Table for larger groups. It's versatile enough to suit a romantic dinner or a lively evening with friends.
For something lighter, L'Olivier sits poolside and serves contemporary dishes in an al fresco setting. Think tuna tartare with olive oil, lime and ginger, red mullet fillets with pesto, and beef carpaccio with truffle oil. It's relaxed, fresh and ideal for a midday break.
Le Bar is a great spot for an evening drink, often with live music and a sushi menu alongside the usual cocktails and spirits. If you'd rather stay in, 24-hour room service covers breakfast, lunch and dinner across all suites and villas.
The spa is run in partnership with Maison D'Asa & Natura Bissé, a leading name in beauty and cosmetics, and the design mirrors a Moroccan palace. Facilities include hammams, sauna, jet shower, swimming pool, private garden and ice bath, with treatments ranging from the signature Supreme Rose Massage to a full menu of facials, body wraps and therapies.
Beyond the spa, the resort offers a semi-Olympic swimming pool, fitness centre, four tennis courts, squash court, two padel tennis courts, table tennis and a yoga studio. All sports centre activities are free for resort guests, with additional charges only for private classes and equipment hire.

Wonderful rooms and staff. The only downside was the extremely high prices in the restaurant and the bars.

Lovely course, beautiful club house but lots of 'holiday golfers' and no marshals attempting to move people on. some of the par 3s more like a pitch and putt course. in short - a lovely place but not for serious golfers

Sadly, we were let down by the fact that no buggies were available though they had been pre-ordered and paid for. Owing to a mistake in the office, we were not recorded on the start sheet which led to an unpleasant experience on the first tee. Poor. However we did get underway and buggies were produced for us from the 12th hole.
