Fairmont Royal Palm Golf & Country Club

We went out in 2 x 3 balls and all felt that we were rushed around the course. We finished way ahead of recommended course times. Obviously this was done to sell as many start times as possible.

Only got 9 holes due to rain, fab views of Atlas mountains, ROYAL AND THIS ONE OVERALL THE BEST

Fantastic layout but superb test of golf

Excellent course, fantastic experience having caddies for the first time and would highly recommend their service . The course, the staff, club house, pro shop and food were all first class and exceeded our expectations.

Website and information from YGT stated course would be fully operational by the time we were due to play for buggies. Unfortunately upon arrival we were advised due to course maintenance no buggies were permitted. If we had known in advance we would not have played as I was recovering from a back injury. YGT not at fault but the course was not accurately reporting that maintenance was still ongoing on their website. Course was in top condition but yet again very slow play was an issue with no Marshall to be seen.

I think this course is lovely. Greens and fairways in excellent condition. A fair amount of water was pleasantly expected. Very disappointing to be told by tour operator that they would not accept buggy reservations and the earliest available tee was 11:40. We arrived on time and were told there were no buggies! Not only don't they have enough for a course and resort of this standard - but that day 7 were out of action! We had to wait an hour and a half for buggies to return, which meant we had to play in the heat of the afternoon. And then both buggies predictably ran out of battery half way through. A caddy is compulsory, which we had not been told which was a surprise. For the buggy shortage, anyone coming from a cooler climate may want to give this course a miss, as lovely as the course is.

Great course, 5 and a half hour round. Was verbally abused on course by French people. Caddie wasn’t interested £8 a pint afterwards

Best of the 3 courses we played ,quality from the minute you arrive from the free range to caddie master and shop staff.The course was outstanding lush fairways pure greens and fantastic layout with variety of holes ,mandatory caddie was ok we had one per group not much interaction with the group english language not his forte but overall a great course

Out of the 4 we played this was the best. I’d give it 8/10 Just over 7000 yards off the blacks, great test and very fair

The caddies you really helpful and mandatory, booking carts etc really easy. Staff really helpful. The course is well designed, due to the weather it was almost like playing two different courses. Greens are quite fast, most of fairways quite wide and forgiving. Really enjoyed the course.

Compulsory to have a caddy who was helpful. Beautiful scenery and plenty of bunkers with some water. The greens were a little slower than Al Maadden and the fairways were in better shape. You also have to pay for the buggy hire independent of YGT.

My only fault at this course was we had to play a four ball, and was not notified until we were on the first tee. The caddie was very helpful in plotting our way around the course. Would recommend this course to all my friends. Well done fairmont.

Fantastic course! Lots of water and sand shaping the holes and the greens were very good. Some of the best practice facility’s I have seen. Caddie is not really a caddy but can help with pointing you in the right direction. Possibly the best course of the week.

Interesting course with lots of variety between holes. Mandatory caddie guide was an enjoyable experience (Hassan). Greens very not in a good condition. Lovely clubhouse.

First four holes greens were not very good with patch repairs . However fifth hole onwards greens excellent. Very scenic and tree line fairways. Best course we played. Buggies around £40 Caddy mandatory £20 plus tip. Only 20 buggies and wont take bookings prior. First come first served.

Played off the whites so very challenging course, one of the favourites of the 4 courses played. Very good clubhouse and practice area.

Great course with excellent facilities. Staff were very helpful. Caddies are required but very friendly and added to the experience.

Great course to play, but that experience was dampened by 1. Declaring that the club did not have the golf reservation and 2. the insistence ( though on successful) on having a caddy along with hiring a buggy. They said it is a new rule that they have put in place. We disagreed to having a caddy. however, better senses prevailed and I am grateful to the Director of Golf Mr Rousseau, who apologised for the gaps in service and agreed us to carry on with the round without caddies. If the stipulation regarding caddies are in force for next year, then this course would be off our list

The best and most pleasant of the courses I played. The only major issues were 2 greens were in very bad condition plus it took four and a half hours to get round. Despite telling the Marshall that the people in front were so slow nothing happened to speed them up. Really enjoyed the course

Our favourite course of the 4 we played. In good condition, nice greens & a reasonable test - apart from the horrid par 3 7th, long and over water. Downsides: On our first visit they had run out of buggies - the course is not really walkable and the temperature was over 30C. Fortunately they found buggies when we said we would not play if it had to be walking. Secondly, they said we had to have at least one caddy with us even if we were in buggies. A money making racket and completely unnecessary - the caddy is £20 + tip. It was different having a caddy with us (riding shotgun on our buggy), helpful at times but rather irritating at times too.

Well maintained although greens had recently been hole tined. Busiest venue we played. We were unhappy about being rushed by constant marshalling despite playing to good pace.

Excellent course and facilities the only downfall for me was a u had to take a caddie which we never needed.they had us double booked on this course so some of us had to start at the 10th and some the first aswell plus we had to let a couple thru on the 10th apart from that brilliant.

Golf courses are in a beautiful setting being able to see snow capped Atlas mountain range.

Considering it had rained all day the day before we played this course it was in such a good condition. The caddy was a brilliant addition

Although course looked spectacular the greens were not in good condition could not finish round as it took nearly 5 hours to complete 15 holes. Not as friendly in pro shop and were not advised that caddy was compulsory not a requirement as other courses!

First round very slow due to big comp Gave us complementary round as came off course! Getting dark!! All other games very good.

Great course Greens grain was difficult to read

The course was challenging enough but manageable at the same time. Marshals made sure that the pace was kept up and also ensured you got to the correct hole. Only drawback was no easy access to the toilets after the 9th.

This course was green all over!! The greens were very soft and not all pitch marks had been repaired Club house was spectacular!

This was by far our favourite course. It was presented in beautiful condition in every aspect. The greens were quick and true, bunkers manicured and good to play from and fairways in lovely condition. When arriving we were looked after brilliantly by the girls in the pro shop and the changing rooms were a sight to behold. After the round, the bar staff were pleasant and helpful.

This course was the most pleasant of the four courses that we played. Everything about the golf course/club was very good. I would recommend that you visit this course.

Best of the three courses we played .Right distance if not taking a buggy

One of my favourite courses. Well presented and beautiful club house. We hired two caddies who were excellent. Knew the course and gave some great advice (caddies elsewhere were hit and miss), with a great finishing hole. One definitely worth playing.

Most enjoyed by group once we got on course. 4 buggies booked 10 months prior had been double rented out to others, so start delayed by 90 minutes until just 3 arrived, and played 7 holes before 4th turned up. Staff helpful eventually. This course requested the “Golf Voucher”( which we have previously always been issued on similar Turkey trips) but Yourgolf did not issue us with any. In the event it was not a problem, but you might wish to consider in future?

We went out of season - the course was in better condition than expected and extremely quiet. The staff were very helpful.

Great course with interesting and undulating holes. In excellent condition overall. Water features on many holes. Big bunkers, best avoided! Would love to play here again when temperatures are kinder. We played in 45 degree heat, but came in after 9, had a drink in the lovely air-conditioned clubhouse (thanks for great service Nabil), then continued onto the back 9. Towels were provided in the vestiaires for post round showers.

Great course again spoilt but lack of buggies again. We were told we couldn't book until we arrived, once there, were none available so had to walk the first 7 holes in 40° heat again! Course was superb and stunning views. Slow round meant not enough time for post golf drinks and two groups had to shoot straight off.

The course is located within the Fairmont Royal Palm Marrakech luxury hotel which offers excellent service and amenities. The course itself is stunning, with 75 hectares of natural space surrounded by the Atlas Mountains and vegetation. A challenging and enjoyable layout that works well with the environment and landscape. The course has water features, palm trees and bougainvillea that add to its beauty and difficulty. The greens are well-maintained and fast, and the fairways are wide and forgiving. However, the course is suitable for most golfers, including the better players as the challenges increase significantly off the white/black tees. There are toilets on the course which were clean and well maintained, but there is no drinking water anywhere on the course. The pace of play is just over 4 hours as most groups are 4 balls. So whilst easily walkable, if a 2 ball, the buggy does offer shade and somewhere to sit whilst waiting to take your next shot. Really good clubhouse that provide lockers and bar has comfortable seating. However, they do run out of buggies and found the two ladies in the Pro Shop very indifferent to our needs and almost cancelled the round. However, the caddie master intervened and allowed us to use one of the buggies used by the course marshals. I highly recommend this course, BUT, if you need a buggy, they will not allow people to reserve them and they do run out.

We played this course last out of our four rounds which was good as it was the best course we’d played.

The best course we played. Loved it - course was immaculate and a nice after golf experience in the restaurant. Staff were superb. Same comment on the voucher as before and on our second visit they didn’t appear to have our tee time reservation but they didn’t make any fuss and we played the round

When it comes to course quality, Royal Palm is a cut above the others that we played. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Note they will ask you to email the Your Golf Travel voucher to them if you don’t have it printed out. Range balls included in green fees. The course was simply outstanding. What was interesting was that the fairways were lush and slightly fluffy whereas what would normally be the first cut being very tight and firm, requiring your full attention. The bunkers were very challenging as they contained very deep coarse sand making them difficult to escape from. This course contains a fair amount of water. Lunch was really nice, but to be fair it was out last day so we had the works.

The cours3 stood up well despite the rain of the previous evening. We would have had a buggy but understood why these were not permitted on the morning we played.
