The 18-hole course at Gower is a testament to Donald Steel’s design philosophy, blending seamlessly into the natural contours of the land. This par-71 layout meanders through a delightful mix of parkland and woodland, demanding thoughtful shot placement and rewarding strategic play. The course makes clever use of its natural features, incorporating them as hazards that can catch out the unwary golfer.
One of the course’s greatest assets is its conditioning. The greens were built to full USGA specifications, a feature that ensures they remain in excellent shape throughout the year, offering a true and consistent putting surface whenever you visit. As you navigate the fairways, you’ll be treated to wonderful views over the Loughor Estuary, adding a scenic reward to the challenge at hand.
The Gower Golf Club provides a truly convenient stay-and-play experience with its collection of 11 en-suite bedrooms located in a thoughtfully converted traditional farmhouse. Guests can choose from single, twin and double room configurations, all just a short stroll from the clubhouse and the first tee.
Each room is warmly and comfortably furnished, providing a peaceful retreat after your round. It’s the ideal setup for groups and couples looking to switch off, relax and immerse themselves in a proper golf break without the hassle of daily travel.
The Gower Golf Club is an ideal choice for golfers seeking a genuine and unpretentious Welsh golf experience. The Donald Steel-designed course offers a fair but engaging test for every golfer, from weekend players to seasoned enthusiasts. The combination of year-round course quality, comfortable on-site accommodation and a warm, friendly atmosphere makes it a standout venue for a UK golf break.
Its location is a huge plus, offering a tranquil escape while being perfectly positioned for exploring the spectacular beaches of the Gower Peninsula or the lively culture of Swansea. It’s particularly well-suited for groups who value great golf and hospitality in a stunning setting.

This was our first visit to the Gower golf club as a society and what a top class place it is from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. We were well looked after and the gentlemen in the pro shop gave us a great welcome and was very helpful and professional. Considering the weather the course was in good condition and a very good challenge to all of our society members with a range of handicaps. Great days golf enjoyed by all, great welcome in the clubhouse, friendly staff and the food was great. Thanks to everyone at Gower golf club for looking after us an we will definitely be back,I would recommend this golf resort to all.

Great potential to be a great course with some fantastic holes but sadly staff shortages mean the fairways and especially the greens are in poor condition. Greens are very fluffy and slow. Clubhouse facilities are basic and on the day we played staff shortages meant the bar was completely unmanned and we were therefore unable to get a post round drink.
