In 1902, the original nine holes were extended, and architectural contributors include J.H. Taylor, James Braid and Ken Cotton. Hazards at Ashburnham include treacherous out of bounds, steep changes in elevation and deep pot bunkers. Add to this the tall fescue that adorns the course's sand dunes, and all the components for a magnificent links course are in place.
Though not particularly long, Ashburnham is tricky and requires great control to achieve good scoring. A perennial favourite in Wales, Ashburnham is certainly worth a stop during a golf tour of the south coast.
Ashburnham is ranked as one of the best courses in Wales

First nine holes out against the wind are difficult, with the return back to the clubhouse mostly down wind, making them friendlier. Super layout and good condition.

Ashburnham is a typical like course 9 out 9 back. After the rain we have been having the course was in good condition and the green were exceptional. A traditional clubhouse that unfortunately for us doesn't supply food on a Monday. This required us to jump in the car and go to the local shop for sustenance. A good club and will return.

A quirky course, with some interesting holes. Although by the sea not many views of it

Very nice greeting from the steward, who prepared the bacon rolls, and drinks. A good challenge with some real tests, greens were true and consistent, tee shots make you use a variety of clubs, not all about driver.

A typical links course, out and back, some great holes, friendly and interesting - probably the pick of the bunch, should we needed to choose one to join.

Excellent test of golf on a quality links course . Some holes are even more difficult without a course planner as your not always sure we’re you are going

We had challenging weather conditions which made it harder for our wives. The fairways were still recovering from last year in places but the greens played very well. Pro was very welcoming with a good tutorial of the course before our round. The clubhouse service was friendly and efficient.
