1 Night, 2 Rounds
Set on the coast in the picturesque town of Malahide, The Grand Hotel Malahide is just 10 miles from Dublin city centre and around 15 minutes from Dublin Airport. For a Dublin golf break, that's a handy combination. You can land, check in and be thinking about your first tee time rather than your transfer.
With the M50 close by, you've got straightforward access to a good spread of courses across north Dublin and the coast. If you book a front-facing room, you'll wake up to estuary views stretching towards The Island Golf Club and Corballis Links, which is a nice little reminder of why you came before you've even grabbed breakfast.
Malahide itself is part of the appeal. There's a good choice of restaurants and pubs within walking distance, so evenings are easy to organise for groups and couples alike, whether you're after a proper meal or a post-round pint. You're close enough to dip into the city if you want the buzz of Dublin for a night, but far enough out to come back to a quieter base once the day's done.
If you're flying in and out of Dublin and want to maximise time on the course, this is a practical, well-located option.
Who is this for?
Golfers who want a coastal base near Dublin with quick airport access, easy drives to top links and a town-centre setting for food and pubs.
Who is it best for?
Groups and societies building a 2–4 round itinerary around north Dublin and the coast, couples who want golf plus an easy evening scene in Malahide, and anyone on a short stay or early flight who doesn't want long transfers.

Rooms at The Grand Hotel Malahide are elegant and spacious, all with private en-suite bathrooms and many offering sea views. If you've got an early tee time, it's worth requesting a front-facing room. The outlook over the estuary is a brilliant start to the day and it feels properly coastal without being miles from Dublin. There's also enough space to spread out your kit, which matters more than you think when you're travelling with clubs, waterproofs and a couple of pairs of shoes.
Food and drink are well covered on site and in town. The Coast Restaurant is the hotel's main dining room and it leans into quality local produce, helped along by those estuary views. A good fit for a relaxed, sit-down dinner after 18 holes, especially if your group wants somewhere easy without having to trek into the city. For something more casual, the Matt Ryan Bar offers an all-day menu and several big screens showing live sport, ideal if you want to keep things informal, catch a match and talk through the day's best (and worst) swings.
When it comes to switching off after golf, the hotel has a 20-metre swimming pool, plus a spa bath and steam room. There aren't full-blown spa facilities here, but for loosening up after walking the links, it's exactly what you want. Those facilities also make the hotel a stronger pick for mixed trips, where not everyone is playing every day and you want a bit of flexibility between rounds.
Overall, it's a comfortable base that suits short breaks, society trips and couples who want coastal golf, decent food and simple logistics, all within easy reach of Dublin.

Good hotel, not our initial hotel. At arrival att shoreline hotel we discovered that YGT had missed to confirm our booking. After initial shock we managed to get a hold of our POC and after some calls back and forth we got book at Grand Hotel Malahide. Due to this we almost missed our tee time. Had no time for lunch and had too pay 100€ extra in taxi travels.
