Seapoint Golf Links is one of the quintessential links courses on Ireland’s east coast and is also a genuine test of championship golf. Some 260 acres of true ‘links land’ (the sandy terrain between the coast and the arable land) set the scene for this County Louth treasure that makes a fine addition to any golf tour in the County Louth area.

Crafted by the ingenious minds of Ryder Cup Vice Captain Des Smyth and Declan Branigan, this golfing haven has evolved into a true gem of Ireland. With its lush fescue greens and velvety fairways that beckon golfers with their firmness and speed, Seapoint promises an unforgettable journey into the realm of links golf.

Seapoint Golf Links

The original layout was devised by ex-Ryder Cup star, Des Smyth, who teamed up with Declan Branigan to produce a truly spectacular project. Set against the backdrop of the Mountains of Mourne and Cooley, Seapoint is a merciless examination of links golf.

The course guarantees that each round of golf will be unique, thanks to the collaboration between the golfing Gods and the unpredictable weather. The presence of wind frequently influences the game, making it a crucial factor to consider. Golfers can experience the satisfaction of playing with the wind at their backs, the difficulty of hitting against the wind, and the struggle of battling crosswinds throughout the entire 18-hole course. This embodies the true essence of enjoyable links golf. You will need to navigate around revetted bunkers and endure the occasional unpredictable bounce, which can be frustrating at times.

Like many of the gems strung along the Irish coastline, Seapoint is an extremely welcoming club, and one which should certainly be considered strongly by any lovers of links golf visiting the Dublin area for a golf tour.

The course was brilliant the front 9 was good but didn’t really feel like links golf, then the back 9 was what we were really after panoramic views of the sea and high tee boxes, the greens and fairways were immaculate, the driving range balls were a bit battered I had 4 split over 30 balls, and there were no buggies available. Other than that brilliant course

Only played 12 holes due to rain, but nice course. Appeared to be some vandalism on a few greens which did not affect play.

Excellent golf course. We really enjoyed the layout with a mix of parkland 'feel' holes as well as the pure links holes. Clubhouse was excellent and we had a very warm reception from all of the staff.
