The Kendleshire was designed by Adrian Stiff, who also completed the remarkable project at the nearby Players Club, and is also a fantastic resort style layout.
The Kendleshire
The club is home to 27 superbly conditioned holes that are the equal of anything in the Bristol locale, with the most recently added nine holes being formulated by the great Peter McEvoy. The Hollows, The Ruffet and The Badminton are the three loops at the Kendleshire, which has hosted numerous PGA Europro Tour events since its inception. Water affects no less than 18 of the club's holes, helping to add great drama, suspense and challenge.
The Kendleshire was named one of Britain's ten best new courses in 1999, and since then has matured nicely into one of the finest in the south of England, making it an essential part of a good Bristol golf tour.
Many new courses have created a homage to Sawgrass' famous 17th hole - the island green at the Kendleshire's 11th may be one of the best efforts.
