Very pleasant stay. The Ugadale is an old fashioned hotel but comfortable and the staff are very approachable.Limited bar and restaurant hours. The location could not be better 50 yards from the first tee.Our room at the front had a fabulous view over the sea to Jura through the big bay window. There was no option for food at the hotel when we arrived after a long journey at around 10.30 am but the next door clubhouse was open for business and we enjoyed a good brunch before our T time of 11.54. The hotel could only accommodate us for an evening meal at 5.30pm following the round so we should have booked a better time in advance.The bar was empty by 9pm so no nightcaps for us.(perhaps no bad thing?) This was early season and I would hope for longer hours later. They were unaware of the prebooked shuttle timings but this was all sorted on the day with Stewart the driver who was very helpful. The hut at Mac Dunes initially asked for payment for the second round but were happy when I showed them the written confirmation from Your Golf Travel. Weather was perfect with full sun , no wind or midges!! We hope to return.

The hotel was great. Only flaw was that the bar pumps were not working, there was no dedicated barman behind the bar so if you wished a pint of beer the girls who by the way did a fantastic job had to walk across the carpark to the Old Club House to get a pint of beer for you. Breakfast was first class.

Difficult to rate due to massive Covid restrictions, ie.no restaurant which for a hotel of this quality was poor considering what they charge; had to use associated pub next door which was very poor. Very limited staff and poor cleaning but a difficult situation so probably would return in better times

Lovely location and well appointed hotel. Great food in the hotel and the adjoining bar. Great value.
