Still the best in town- many familiar staff faces which adds to its historic charm

8 single rooms booked. All comfortable, but huge variance in the size and facilities, but not a concern really

The only downside was our rooms did not have great views. One over looked the car park, with a busy road beyond and air conditioning units below, the other view was of roofs.

This hotel was fabulous, excellent service and was a really treat to experience 5 star luxury at an affordable price.

Very polite & courteous staff - nothing was too much trouble. Lovely period hotel, pool and bar - lots of photos & memorabilia from decades gone by. The room was a twin instead of a double, so the beds needed to be pushed together & remade. The beach at Estoril was a short walk away, so nice for a walk out.

Fantastic hotel , good location with efficient shuttle service to golf club. All staff very helpful and friendly. Good food options and staff very happy to do something we wanted (even though it wasn’t on their usual menu) Well done all round.

10/10 - Rooms, staff, food were amazing. We didn't lift a finger to get to the course, they organised a transfer each time.

This is a real 5* Hotel

This is a really well maintained grand hotel which holds on to its early 20th century charm. The staff, immaculately dressed were friendly and helpful. I didn’t use the spa or indoor pool although it looked great. The outdoor pool was large and very clean. There were ample sun beds. Breakfast was excellent and extremely well staffed. Only drawback for me was the traditional bedding. The blankets were a little too old fashioned and duvets would have been better. Transport to and from the golf course was largely manage by Ricardo a fabulously optimistic and entertaining driver. Overall this is an excellent place to stay. Estoril itself is a relatively quiet place (although there is a large casino which I didn’t use) however lovely Cascais is a short walk or train ride away. Lisbon is easily reached by frequent trains.

Fabulous experience. Staff were fabulous and facilities fantastic. Excellent breakfast and enjoyed the less formal restaurant.

Unfortunately we were allocated 2 double rooms and not twin rooms. One room was switched immediately, the other was eventually switched the next day (and upgraded which relieved the stress). On the first day the reception staff did not handle this issue well.

A fantastic hotel with wonderful facilities and staff centrally placed for easy access to nearby Golf venues and Lisbon. I couldn’t recommend it too highly.

I love everything about this hotel but the staff make it even better. They could not have been more attentive or friendly. I highly recommend it.

The hotel was a very nice place with opulent surroundings. Rooms was a little over crowded with furniture. The staff could be a little more attentive, it seem there were a look of staff but the service was very slow. Had to phone reception 3 times for the same request, were not good with returning a call or confirmation. Food was very good and the hotel surroundings were beautiful.

Fantastic hotel with old fashioned levels of 5 star service.

The hotel was superb - very comfortable and the staff could not have been more helpful. The rooms, however, were on the small side and the wardrobe and drawer space were fine for a few days but again there was not much room. The Spa and the indoor dynamic swimming pool were just amazing. Our party were all very happy.

Excellent hotel. All the staff were superb and helpful. Our room was very comfortable clean and spacious. The pool area was spacious and comfortable. Couldn’t fault anything.

Splendid hotel with very helpful staff - particularly the concierges. My only criticism would be that the cost of drinks and food was on the high side eg 11 Euros for a pint of beer even with the crisps and nuts provided.

5th floor - lovely views over park and sea. Although set back from waters edge could hear the waves at night! Room well appointed, furniture a little tired in places

Excellent hotel, staff are so accommodating it's unbelievable. Only fault (not of the hotels) is bar is too posh and expensive for a meeting point for golfers before venturing out in the evening.

Wonderful 5 star hotel. The staff will go above and beyond to manage requests. It's located 15mins from Cascais and would recommend the journey to the town for lunch and dinner. Only downside, room service meals we selected were not the best.

overall, very pleased with our stay experience although I would have to say that the concierge, whilst perfectly polite and helpful, did suffer from lack of communication with his own management and was not gracious in error.

Very pleasant and well looked after

Hotel was excellent with staff who were very attentive and helpful. It was spotlessly clean and the food was great. There were facilities available to us that we were never going to use (spa/pool) in hindsight we should have booked something more basic which would have suited us - but we enjoyed the luxurious experience. The golf shuttle bus provided our only complaint - we were waiting 90 minutes for pick up from Penha Longa and one of the drivers thought he was Lewis Hamilton.

We were incredibly lucky in that we were upgraded to a suite. The hotel has so much history and the breakfasts are the best I have ever had.

This is one of the best hotels which I have stayed in. We were a mixed party of 23 with only 14 golfers but the facilities in the hotel provided more than adequate for the non-golfers. The food choices were outstanding and the staff a total delight. I couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Just returned from a fantastic three night stay with two rounds of golf. The hotel is right up there with some of the best. Every staff member was very attentive and couldn't be more helpful. Alongside the hotel there is the Spa facilities, which are top notch. Being only a short walk from the beach, with lots of restaurants and bars is in a great position. The golf course was in very good condition and whilst not the longest threw up some really good challenges.Small bar area, but again very helpful staff and a good variety of snacks available. All in all a great place for a short trip. YGT looked after us really from the first contact to arriving back in the U.K. My wife and I will definitely be returning.
