From Palheiro Golf Club you will enjoy unparalleled views over the old town of Funchal and its picture perfect bay. The golf course opened for play in 1993, and was designed by the American architect, Cabell B. Robinson, whose resumé includes outstanding projects across continental Europe such as courses at the La Cala resort.
Palheiro is ideal for holiday golf, as it is a manageable proposition for the average golfer, whilst it also presents the low handicappers with something to think about. In 2003, the course was revised slightly, with two new holes being added to reinforce the par-72 championship layout, while the club was also boosted with the inauguration of a six hole academy course.
