The rugged Gower peninsula is home to Pennard Golf Club, which is an incredibly dramatic place for a golfing experience. Though just 8 miles from the centre of Swansea, Pennard's idyllic setting gives golfers a glorious sense of isolation and is the perfect backdrop for an ancient links of outstanding quality.
Pennard Golf Club
Established in 1896, Pennard owes thanks to its creators James Braid and C.K. Cotton, whose legacy is a links layout that traverses the humps, hillocks, mounds and hollows of the amazing landscape. Pennard, unlike many seaside courses, is not located immediately on the shoreline, rather it is perched on the cliff top, some 200 feet above the sea. This position makes it truly unique, providing incredible views.
Pennard is among Wales' finest, and carries a strong contingent of admirers; if spectacular seaside golf appeals, then make sure Pennard should be high on the list.
Pennard Golf Club is ranked as one of the best courses in Wales
