Built to the highest specifications, the Players Club was commissioned with the intent to create a course that would test the mettle of even the finest golfer. With this in mind, the course measures an astonishing 7,600 yards from the championship markers, and features a 4,000 yard front nine, rivalled only in the UK by Dalmahoy's East Course.
Architect Adrian Stiff has succeeded in completing a remarkable course, which is reminiscent in many ways of the classic resort courses native to Florida, with enormous, sweeping greens that are protected by massive bunkers and water hazards. The trademark railway sleepers are bordered by woodland, gorse and heather, and there are a number of hugely dramatic and challenging holes.
The Players is maintained in good condition thanks to its state-of-the-art irrigation system, so if you feel brave enough, tackle the monster Players Club during your next Bristol golf tour.

Course in really poor condition, lots of cracks, stuff left around the course, tee boxes patchy, greens long and slow.

It rained heavy on the day which probably led to a long, tough round, its a long course especially when walking, would like to play it in better weather conditions

A slow round couldn't get into any rhythm. Definately over booked. Course was good though. Well designed and challenging. Greens in good condition. Staff were lovely but clearly ran off their feet. Hope they are well paid and looked after.

We felt that this course gave the impression of just being 'squeezed in' to any spaces left after the Codrington Course had been built. The bunkers were in very poor condition - some even had grass growing in them. The tees were in a very poor state so was the maintenance of the green to tee land on many of the holes. The signage around the course was non-existent and the petrol engine buggies were cumbersome, noisy and hard to control. We would not want to play that course again.

can not give this course an accurate review as the weather was bad rained for the whole day so giving the conditions the course was very good including the greens would definitely return in the summer to play again

A very rainy day, and we didn't play all 18 holes but the fairways were like the semi-rough on our home course, as they had clearly not been mown for a while. The greens, despite the heavy rain, were excellent and the course itself was very interesting. Would love to play it again on a dry day.

Thoroughly enjoyed playing here. The day we played the pin positions were in difficult positions which made for a challenging day, but really enjoyed it. Some beautiful holes. Would definitely recommend to play!

Cracking job in getting it playable, greens played superbly, winter mats could do with being tee friendly and not the 1.5 m square range outcasts. That aside, lovely clubhouse/pro shop, well looked after by all staff all day. 👍

fairly unorganised, we were told to start on the 10th to play back nine first then when playing the "front nine" were hassled by a marshall telling us we shouldnt be there. the green staff were coring the greens so we had to miss out 2 holes. Would not rush back to this course.

I was expecting this to be the best of the four, but we all felt it was the one in worst condition. It’s a tough track, but was scruffy in places and we weren’t keen on how many tees from the second course intertwined with ours. Greens were good and fast, but the rest of the course like the tees and the fairways weren’t a patch on the other three.

The 9 hole “Water Gardens” course was a great way to warm up for your round and is a lot of fun. The Codrington was a good course in decent condition - just some of the tee boxes had been hacked to bits! Some great holes 15 & 16 in particular and it is a great all round facility. Only minor gripe was the woman in the pro shop - absolute zero interpersonal skills and felt like it was a chore for her to be there!

The course was in great condition with the greens especially quick even though it rained all day.The back has a lot of water features so need a decent game to fully enjoy it.It is not the cheapest course in the area but is a good standard.

Worst golfing experience of our lives. Teed off 15 minutes late and the round took over 6 hours. Pro shop staff and Marshall didn’t care and said “that’s Saturday golf”. Lovely course but ruined by staff and slow play. Won’t be back.

The Codrington is a fantastic golf course. Everyone in the group enjoyed it, from the low handicappers to the high. Greens were in great shape considering they had been treated.
