True to Seve's charismatic style, the course at Quinta do Vale is designed to thrill and challenge golfers of all abilities. Ballesteros promised a course that would please every player no matter their handicap and he delivered by creating a layout that rewards thoughtful play and bold shot-making. The course unfolds over 75 hectares of undulating terrain, with every hole carefully integrated into the natural landscape to give each one a distinct personality.
The journey begins with a front nine where water is a constant companion, guarding fairways and greens and demanding precision from the very first tee shot. The unique configuration of six par 3s, six par 4s and six par 5s ensures you will use every club in your bag, navigating clever doglegs and wide yet strategic fairways. As you move to the more elevated back nine the character shifts offering spectacular panoramic views across the valley towards Spain. The round culminates in a dramatic finishing hole where your approach must carry over water to find the final green a fitting end to a classic Seve adventure.

Possibly the hardest course I've ever played. 6 of us all around 18 handicap. This course is set up for better golfers. Lost so many balls between us. Lots of water on course.

Typical Seve course, quirky yet very playable, you need an imagination for shot making as there is a lot of water, stand on the balcony and take in the views over the first 10 holes and over to Spain, absolutely stunning

General consensus this was the worst of the courses we played, (ria, cima & vale). Greens were good and not too quick but a very quirky course (6 of each Par3/4/5) and some ridiculous pin placements on edges of greens near water… Overall decent facilities but not sure we will come back.

Interesting course with lots of water on front nine then into the hills on back nine. You need fairly precise shots to avoid water/ditches on front nine but overall enjoyed it. Pleasant staff, good buggies ( they are now owned by the same Portuguese investment group that owns Q de Cima & Q da Ria)

The course and facilities are looking very run down. Greens play well but areas of the course look quite rough. The clubhouse facilities are really scruffy. The starter was excellent and gave a good welcome on the tee but the staff in the reception need to go on a customer care course as soon as possible. We would not go back here for a while.

A good course but the par 5’s really tricky unless you play as three shot holes. Mostly they take driver out of play a very positional but enjoyable enough course. Front nine east to walk back nine a bit hilly.
